I don't ever normally write reviews but I felt that I should let anyone know that using Michael's Keys to install a safe is a huge mistake. Unfortunately in my situation I used a safe manufacturing company out of California and they use Michael's Keys as their installer for the Dallas area. They charged an extreme amount to do the initial install during a new home build and told our project managers to give them a call when it is ready for a bolt down. I called them when the house was nearing completion to bolt down the safe and was told it would only cost $55. On the day that they were supposed to come out I get a call from one of their ladies who was extremely rude saying that we didn't mention that the safe needed to be moved a few feet out to connect the wires in the back and said that they were going to charge me $200 to literally move it out a few feet. Seriously?? The safe isn't even being moved to a different area just moved out no more than 2 feet. She even forgot to mention that we needed to pay for the service call when I called originally and when I asked her why these costs were so exorbitant she didn't even bother to allow me to speak with someone who is higher up. Needless to say I cancelled the appointment and requested to cease all further business. I have also contacted the manufacturer to inform them of such a poor company and that they should consider someone who isn't going to treat their customers with a rude demeanor and will not price gouge you.
The technician was very nice, but could not pick the lock and had to drill it out, which I was fine with. However, the amount quoted us changed after the service, and they actually expected me to pay more for their mistake. The dispatch supervisor argued with me on the phone. The recorded line played back even proved they failed to mention the service call charge amount. We'll never use them again and will never recommend them. We saw the same type complaint in other reviews...Wonder if they understand the definition of Deceptive Trade Practices in Texas. Lastly, the owners response fell on deaf ears. After everything we went through on the phone with their dispatch supervisor...he acts like they did us a favor and took the high road....just WOW !! We only paid $52.50, because the recorded line proved we were correct, and we refused to pay anything more than what we were quoted...even the technician stated he understood. We are so done with this disrespectful business.
I just wanted to say that I couldn't have been more disappointed with this business. I called ahead to see if they could program a new FOB that I got for my 2011 Toyota Tundra and they said that they could. I drove a 1/2 hour there and the guy with the blond beard tried twice and just handed my keys back and said that they couldn't do it. He said that there was probably something wrong with my vehicle as if it was my fault!! I asked if he wanted to try again and he just said no and walked off!! No apology for dragging me down there or anything!! I found a different locksmith and he did it in under 60 seconds because he had a device to program the FOB unlike these guys who were trying a manual programming. The bottom line is they don't know what they are doing and they will waste your time they way they wasted mine... DON'T BOTHER!!!!
Absolutely horrible customer service, the only reason there is 2 stars is because I got 2 car keys. Other than that calling in was an absolute disaster. I needed keys for my car and even explained that I had to leave my car unlocked for several days and there was compassion shown. I had a key to help them pick a blank and even my lock code to make the job easier. Neither the the guy on the phone or the technician used this info, instead they both said "I couldnt find anything". If anyone needs a key and there is literally no one else to call or pickup the phone then I would say call someone else then use this company. Last but not least I paid an extremely large amount for car keys that didnt even need to be programmed. I only paid it because there was no other option and I just moved to the local area.
These guys probably just saved me hundreds of dollars (if not a couple thousand) in bypassing the cost of having to tow my vehicle to a mechanic with whom I could not have trusted the simple task of repairing my ignition in an honest and secure way. Jeff Eubanks came out in the heat of the day and got the job done quickly - no trouble. He made the exact repair I requested (very different from a mechanic or dealership) and I was charged exactly the price they quoted when I called (plus tax). They will have my future business, which I am convinced is only a small expression of my gratitude.
My in-laws were there today. If I could give him a zero stars I would. He treated my elderly family completely disrespectfully. When he said it would take an hour, they stated they would wait. They did not feel comfortable driving around waiting (they were too far from home), he told them they could not. He said the parking was for customers and it might actually take 5 hours. All they were wanting was a good place to get a new key cut and they ended up leaving with nothing and feeling disrespected.
My stupid ignition randomly wouldn't turn and found out my key was worn out. Used my spare thank God to find out that's what it actually was. Came to get a replacement spare and I appreciated the guy telling me the most cost effective option rather than just charging me up the butt. Was supposed to be about $130 ish but ended up being $86 for a spare ignition key and a key to open my doors. He helped me quickly, took me about 15 minutes, but I got here right before traffic started.
I am an adulting teen who knows nothing. When I called I was so nervous but the receptionist was so nice and explained everything thoroughly. When the workers came to fix my car they were very nice and patient with me. They explained all the steps they would be taking to fix my car and were very respectful! Hopefully I won’t need to fix my car soon lol but if I ever do I will definitely be coming back to Michael’s Keys! I definitely recommend this service to everyone.
Layla, went above and beyond to help me get my appointment set and gave me all the information I needed ahead of time. She was wonderful. And Chris came out to take care of re-keying our locks and he was fantastic. He was incredibly patient, helped us figure out what would be best for our situation, and was very professional. I highly recommend Michael's Keys if you need any kind of locksmith work done.
Great service. Much better prices than I expected. I lost my keys and thought I locked them in the car. They came out and got me fixed up in a jiffy. Even though my keys weren't in my car, I was very surprised as to how professional and quickly they opened it up. WITHOUT any damages to my vehicle. I have used them in the past as well for key copies. They are very reputable
Jacob provided a phenomenal experience while solving my key need; another time exemplified why I use Michael's Keys! Taking time to answer any question presented, sometimes I can try one's disposition. Even during this rainy day one could tell passion for his job was present. Stop by and see Jacob the lone wolf key guy situated just outside downtown Fort Worth.
This place saved me a big headache. I really needed a key duplicated, and went to THREE different do-it-yourself machines, wasting about $25. None of the keys worked. Then I went to Michael’s Keys, was in and out in literally 2 minutes, had 2 copies that worked as well as the original, and was only charged $4. Go here, don’t waste your money on the machines.
June 30th 2022 Employee VERY rude. Seemed extremely bothered that I came in. Said I could take my lock somewhere else. I've been to the other locations where they were very helpful, extremely professional and they welcome business. The store wasn't even busy - there was no one in the entire store. The employee just didn't want to be bothered.
Mike was very attentive and helpful with a wealth of knowledge about keys and locks in general. His prices we're very fair for the work done and I would let everyone know he is a great asset to our town as business owner. Thank you for helping me out of a pickle Mike. I took a few cards to pass out if you don't mind . …
My bf and I are on a road trip on motorcycle from Colorado to texas and our motorcycle key broke off in the gas key tank, we took the broken pieces here and asked if they could make us a new one. He did!! He did a great job it’s perfect and now we can get back on our road trip. We are so thankful!
The receptionist or lady who answers the phone is losing you business because she likes to talk like a professional but she doesn’t listen to the customers explanation. I like your service but train your lady on understanding what the customer needs before she goes into unnecessary rumbling.
It's really a boat ramp with a few picnic tables nearby, but I like to park there with my wife and watch the sunset over the lake. The parking area is typically full, but we're usually able to find a spot to park. With the ducks near shore and boats in the distance, it's relaxing.
Waited an extra twenty minutes because he decided to take care of a customer that came in after me. Then wanted to look at me crazy Because I spoke up about it but if I hadn't then I would've been waiting much longer. First come first served I hope he learns that.
Needed to copy a key for an antique car and was having trouble finding someone who could do it. Must be an odd key or something. I walked in Michael's Keys and within about 2 minutes I had all the copies I needed and barely spent any money. Highly recommend
Did not receive service from this company, but never will consider it. Their driver in the company car drives like a maniac. He tailgated us, constantly flashing his lights, right next to a bunch of semi trucks. We were going about 10 over
I don't normally write reviews, especially negative ones, but this place does not deserve your business. I called on Thursday for a locksmith to come out to make a new key for my car, he told me after working on my car for a few hours that
Asked them if they can make me a key for my car which is under my name. My daughter has the only key to the car and refuses to give it to me and I discussed that with them, they refused to make my a key. Their excuse is they dont get into
Spoke with Steven. Started out friendly, I got a minute or two into my needs and he asked me to hold. Then hung up on me. I called back and he hung up again. l called back again and he answered with an attitude told me he didn't have time
I have used Michael's about 5 times now, both for my business and my residential needs. Hands down, the best service in town. Great customer service, quick to work and the locksmiths are very nice and professional. Jon and Derek are very
Quick and easy. Very helpful, Brett helped me find the right key for my motorcycle and cut it too. Once he found the right fit and cut it to match, it worked the first time on the ignition, gas tank, and seat storage. Awesome experience!
After the frustration of losing my truck keys I called Michael's Keys to come out and make a new key. However, I was told one price at 8:00 AM and a different price at 4:30 PM. The person on the phone suggested I wait till the next day
FW location: great service, decent prices, knowledgeable. I appreciated the time the gentleman took talk to me and even explain things to my 9 year old daughter who was a little startled at the key cutting noise at first. Will go back.
They said they could program a key and they couldn't and still charged 95.00 for nothing after they telling me they could. Total waste of time and very bold to require a service call fee for something they could not do at all.
Locked ourselves out of our house & they were here within the hour. Very professional, verified our identity & took care of our property. $165 to open which seemed more reasonable than replacing a window! Highly recommend!
Awesome. Priced very well, very professional and quick. I drove to the office and only spent approximately 10 minutes there. They also have every kind of key with so many designs on the. Highly recommend Michael's Keys
1. Sold the wrong key. 2. When attempting refund, hung up on my store worker. 3. Spoke with HR to issue refund. Returned to the store to get the refund and harrrassed by worker who hung up on me.
Brought Jacob a motorcycle tank, and he finished it in 24hrs! Charged me less than what he originally thought it would cost! Overall this dude was amazing and will definitely be going back!
I just went to the Fort Worth location and had a key made. The employee was great and very fast, I wasn't in there more than two minutes. I will definitely continue giving them my business.
They promptly made and programmed a key for my 2007 mazda and it only took 5 minutes. The employee there was very nice and explained everything. Pricing was great too
