I am beyond disappointed and frustrated by my experience at Metro Paws. I moved from San Antonio last year and was looking for a new vet for both my cat and dog. I had such a wonderful vet in San Antonio, I assumed it would the same in Dallas. I found Metro Paws and since they were close and had good reviews, I decided to give them a try. My first appointment was for annual checkups on both my cat and dog. Maria Badamo was the DVM who saw my animals. My cat is elderly and she immediately said that we would need to do tests on him totaling over $3000 because of his age. Red flags went up immediately. My cat is old, I told her I was not willing to unnecessarily put him through tests, anesthesia. Again, this was very troubling but I needed to get my animals vaccinated so we moved on to my dog, a 9 lb Pomeranian. She gave my Pomeranian his vaccinations and we left. Immediately my dog became ill. He was very tender where the vaccinations had been administered and I also noticed a huge chunk of blood matted under his fur. I called the vet and they told me to come back in and they would give him something to feel better. I came back in and they CHARGED me! After 3 weeks of my dog being sick and them telling me he was "faking" it, I demanded to see another vet. This vet admitted that the vaccinations should have been spaced out. My dog has never had an issue with vaccinations nor has he required them to be spaced out. He has also never suffered physical injuries at the hands of his vet from being vaccinated, until now. Thankfully, after everything, my dog got better. I requested to never see Dr. Badamo again was reassured I wouldn't have to. Fast forward 4 months. My dog is showing signs of pain when he eats. I bring him in to Metro Paws with hesitation, but hope, as I knew I wouldn't have to deal with Dr. Badamo again. I am placed into a room, and guess who walks in? Dr. Badamo. Needless to say I am not pleased, but my dog is in pain so I tell her the issue. She attempts to open my dogs mouth but he growled at her. She said she could go no further because she didn't want to "get bitten". Seriously? She's a vet! I asked her if she had gloves or some other way to examine my dog and she said no. Although she refused to examine my dog, she gave me a $1700 treatment plan to get his teeth cleaned! My dog has regular teeth cleanings, and I told her this. I asked her how she could diagnose when she wasn't even able to look at my dog. She had no response. I began to look over the treatment plan and saw that there were many miscellaneous charges; nail trim under anesthesia, multiple exam fees, multiple anesthesia fees, etc. I pointed this out and she just said that she didn't make the prices. I have been getting my dogs teeth cleaned for 6 years. The cost, with anesthesia, is always under $200. After all was said and done, she charged me an exam fee, even though no exam was done. I walked out with a bill over $100 and no solution to my pet's discomfort. After refusing her ridiculous attempt to get money from me I asked her to prescribe something to make him comfortable until I could see someone else. She prescribed an anti biotic and a pain med. I got home and realized the pain med was a chewable! He can't even eat his food. He became ill after taking the meds. I did some research and learned that the pain med has been found to cause extreme side effects in animals, including death. It is so sad that someone in her position is doing what she does. She doesn't care about the animals or their parents, just the money. This woman is incompetent at best and at worst a down right scam artist and criminal. Please do not trust your animals in her care.
I came here because it was recommended to me by a co worker and was only on a Sunday and didn't want to wait to take my cat in. They were very accommodating in getting me in on such quick notice, which I really appreciated! Which is what the 2 stars are for. What i didn't appreciate was what followed the days after. Took my cat in because I thought he might have a bladder infection (hes had them before and was acting similar) they informed me I needed to do multiple tests to really figure it out They gave me 2 options 1. a cheaper version but didn't scan for all the tests or 2. the more expensive version which would run all the tests. it was like a $50 difference so i went ahead and did the more expensive one. I left and my vet bill was almost $400 (tests and visit) Called me about a week later to tell me absolutely NOTHING was wrong with my cat but they found one of the tests were super high in a certain area and they HAD to do a specific test in that area or it could be fatal if untreated. So no brainier, no pet owner wants to hear that so i agreed. come to find out the extra test was $160 (which i thought i had originally opted for the option to have ALL the tests done). A few days or so they called to tell me absolutely NOTHING was wrong with my cat. Over $500 and my cat is totally normal yet they made me feel like he was going to die within HOURS if i didn't get these tests immediately! Needless to say, I am still on the hunt for a vet because I will never be coming back to Metro paws unless I want them to STEAL my money again. oh one last thing... one of the tests (that i paid for) was to have his poop tested. Was told I needed to bring in a sample which i did and when i did, the lady at the front asked how old it was, I replied I had taken it this morning (it was about 3pm when I went in) and she told me that unless this was refrigerated they cant accept any sample that isnt dropped off within the HOUR! excuse me! I Was never told that. So therefore, I didn't get to have that test done. Which Im sure would have come back completely normal as well. I was actually warned about coming here and them doing this, but I was desperate since I was afraid my cat was in pain! Lesson learned. I would recommend staying away from this vet and searching for a new one. Also, please let me know when you find that new one!
I started taking my 12 year old beagle, Mia, to Metro Paws in March 2023 after she was diagnosed with a heart condition. Prior to Metro Paws, I had taken her to two other local Dallas vet offices. The other two had given me a terrible diagnosis with no hope. Thankfully, my friend (who’s dog also has a heart condition) recommended Dr. Deresz. Dr. Deresz is extremely knowledgeable and caring about the animals that come through the door. He has gone above and beyond for Mia. He even caught a something in my dog’s bloodwork that the previous two vets didn’t catch. I find him to be much more of a proactive vs. reactive vet. He’s helped me get Mia on the right track with her food, medicine and supplements. He’s also dependable. He will call to give results (he’ll even go into detailed explanations to make sure I understand) and he’ll even text me if I’m not reachable by phone. The other day, I was worried about the changing of my color of my dog’s tongue, and he fit me in first thing in the morning to have my dog examined. Their technician, Darren, is also wonderful. For tech check ups, they offer home visits, and Darren will come over to my house for the visit. He’s always very patient with Mia since she can be a bit anxious. My experience at Metro Paws has been, by far, the best experience I’ve ever had with a vet’s office! I’ve already referred two friends to this office, and they have nothing but great things to say too!
After only having my new puppy for 24 hours he started to display signs of Parvo. Having never visited a vet clinic in this area, I called the nearest one (Metro Paws Skillman) and it was (luckily) the best choice I could have made. I called ahead and discussed his symptoms and was told "Can you be here in20 minutes? I don't have any openings but we'll fit him in." It was exactly what I wanted to hear and we arrived 20 minutes later. We waited less than 10 minutes and were met by the vet tech KAV who explained to us she would test his for parvo first (which unfortunately he was positive for.) She spent plenty of time with us explaining not only the virus itself, but also the treatment options at their location, at a 24-hour location, and a home treatment option. We were then given time to choose and seen by the veterinarian who helped us make our decision. At the end we were billed (very reasonable for the treatment we were given) in private due to the contagious nature of his job, which I think was very responsible as we would hate to spread this horrible disease to any other dogs. To top it all off, I have received a phone call from the staff every other day since the appointment in order to check on his status and answer all of our questions. Based on this experience, I feel this is a great place to bring your dog!
Around 3 weeks ago i took my cat , Shiro in for emergency care . We had recently bought him a plant from PetSmart and left it for him to nib on . Later that night we came home to vomit everywhere . We didn’t think much of it at the time until the next day when he started throwing up multiple times . He stopped eating and drinking water . He was very inactive , all he did was drink tiny amounts of water and sleep most of the day . We got really worried so decided to take him in , it was a Sunday so it was hard to find vets that are open but luckily we found MetroPaws . We took him in and the vet told us he was severely sick . The had him on a hydrating tube and were keeping him warm due to him struggling to keep himself warm . Even though everything was almost $400 , my cat was doing better that exact night we brought him home . They gave us pills to help him start eating , we came home and a few hours later he started walking around the house and laying next to us , he then started wanting to eat . 2 days later he was just as he normally was . We were extremely happy that MetroPaws helped him get better !! I really recommend when difficulty situations come up about your pet . (:
During our five-and-a-half years in Dallas, my wife and I took our small zoo of two dogs and three cats to Metro Paws. We consistently received caring, friendly, and expert service. They were always able to help us with routine animal care and during emergencies (which you tend to have when your animals are seniors). We dealt with a few veterinarians over the years. In particular, my wife and I saw Dr. Deresz and Dr. Badamo frequently for our babies. We found both of them to be personable and charming in dealing with us and deft at examining our animals. They listened to our concerns with compassionate ears and never seemed rushed. In our darkest times, when some of our animals were suffering from age-related health issues, the staff at Metro Paws was extremely caring and comforting. When our German Shepherd, Sable, could no longer walk (due to degenerative myelinopathy) and putting on her rear harness put her in pain (due to arthritis), they were able to make a home call so my wonderful Sable could pass at home. We're very grateful for the care our animals received and would recommend Metro Paws to family, friends, or anyone else looking for great care for their furry babies.
There was some confusion with the bill vs an estimate. The vet was able to finally give me an itemized bill showing exactly what was done on Tate's visit. Every business has had to adapt and adjust the way they interact with their customers, patients, or whatever. Going from normal to locked down there was no time to prepare and is a learning process for everyone. Even customers have had to adapt. We had never dropped Tate off by himself for an appointment at a Vet before. Always stayed while vet did examination/shots. I can only imagine how confusing all of the new covid protocols are for pets and owners. Metro has taken care of Tate and treated him and us (his overly protective dads) very kindly. And with compassion. The communication at metro was lacking a little at the beginning but they have more than made up for it. We lost a dog about 4 years ago after a friends, much larger, dog bit our dog on the head. Tate is the dog we got shortly after. Unfortunately because of that we are a bit overly protective with him. We had gone to Metro a couple times in the past and never had an issue. The 2 previous visits, years ago, were great.
My baby Hurley and I will forever be in debt to Metro Paws and I say that in a good way - not like actual debt! Hurley is our 4yr old corgi-lab mix and we love her like she is our child. Unfortunately this past weekend she began behaving very strangely and letting us know she was not feeling well and was in pain due to not being able to urinate. We rushed her into the E-clinic and were barely helped because we could not afford their $4500 estimate. LUCKILY... Metro Paws was there to save the day. They opened at 8am and even took Hurley in before officially opening. Obviously a regular vet costs less than an emergency vet, but these guys KNOW THEIR STUFF and are GREAT at what they do! She had to have emergency surgery to relieve her bladder, which was clogged with bladder stones we had no idea existed. They called in a very practiced and talented Doctor who performed the surgery just in time to save our baby's life. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND METRO PAWS TO ANYONE!!! - At non-outrageous prices, they will absolutely be my pets vet as long as we live in Dallas!
I normally don't rant about any business, but today I just have to. I've been taking my pup Chloe to Metro Paws Animal Hospital - Skillman since I got her over 8 years ago. I've had one bad experience with a certain doctor there in the past so I always make sure to request a doctor we are comfortable with when Chloe needs to be seen. When I scheduled her teeth cleaning, I made sure to ask for Dr. Deresz, because he had done it the last time. Turns out, another doctor went ahead and did it without telling us. They stuck Chloe 3 times to get an IV (which they charge extra for by the way), I was pressured into getting dental x-rays, via phone call from the doctor while Chloe was sedated, of course I said to do them if she thought they were necessary. Total bill $700+ dollars... which would be fine if I knew Chloe got the best care, after all, she's my baby. Needless to say, I'm super disappointed in this place and will be looking for a Vet that cares about their patients. If you read my entire rant, thank you. Sincerely, A very upset dog mom
Metro Paws staff are the absolute BEST! In the past, Metro Paws has reconstructed my chihuahua's broken paw, and helped nurse our pups back to health (they are 5 now). Since then, we've moved to Terrell and visit a local vet for routine visits, but we ONLY trust Metro Paws with emergency/concerning visits. One of my ranch dogs suddenly developed eye discharge yesterday afternoon. Joanna answered my call - she was very helpful and reassuring as I wasn't sure what to do next, especially during these quarantine times. Metro Paws was able to see my dog, Legend, asap with EXCEPTIONAL curb-side service. Legends tech, Essence, was very friendly and hospitable. Over the phone, Dr. Shipp informed me of all possible scenarios of Legend's diagnosis and instructions for his prescription. Although yesterday's visit was "curb-side" assistance - it was just as accommodating and certainly a 5+ STAR service. We appreciate each of you! Thank you from Legend & I! (Before/After photo of Legend's visit included)
Metro Paws is awesome, compassionate and affordable. I called them in desperation trying to get a certain pain relief drug that could help comfort my sister’s pup until she got back from abroad and could make a decision about end of life (he has inoperable cancer). Her regular vet had the drug back ordered and would not offer me any alternative except to drive around town to regular pharmacies which didn’t even stock the drug she prescribed. I felt dismissed. Enter Metro Paws - they were kind, obviously cared about my dog, got me in within 2 hours and gave me the drug. They all seemed like real people and the bill was much less for an office visit. They even gave me info about euthanasia and cremation - including someone who will come to your home. If I lived in Texas they would be my vet! The compassion here is authentic and I trust them.
ONLY ONE EXPERIENCE - BUT GREAT - would be 4.5 stars, if allowed. I, sadly, had to put my friend of many (13+) years down, and my vet is far from home. Metro Paws was recommended by a friend and close, so we went for my girls last appointment. The techs & doc were wonderful & caring - sweet & attentive to me and my girl. The room was not like an exam room, it was candlelit with a big bed for her. They gave me time to sit with her, before and after. I was not rushed. The only reason I did not give 5 stars was because the front desk staff wasn't overly welcoming - though I did not interact with them much. I know I was upset, but the techs and doc made a point to look past that and sincerely make eye contact and let me know it was going to be okay. Otherwise, Metro Paws (amazingly) made my last memory of my girl a good one. Thank you!
Metro paws has always been my dogs go to vet. I’ve never had an issue with them, the tech has always been the sweetest and Dr. Deresz has always been very caring with my dog. Both the tech and Dr.Deresz will gladly answer any questions I have, which is highly appreciated because it shows that they care for both the patient and pet. However, today has been the third time I encounter the same receptions/whomever answers the phone, and she is extremely arrogant on the phone, God forbid you have a question, it’s easier to find another vet than having to deal with such a negative individual. I must state that I rarely make reviews, but this woman should not be answering the phones if she does not want to help book appointment or answer simple questions, if she doesn’t know the answer.... there are better ways to respond to people.
It's been a couple of years. Back then, my friend lived off Live Oak, a busy street and left her small black poodle outside when I arrived. She asked "where's Sugar?" I ran outside to find her on the ground, after she was hit by a car. Walked up to her as she looked at me, when her head slowly dropped to the ground. Grabbed her and started CPR. Someone who drove by picked us up and took us to Metro Paws. Walked in. Said we needed help. The staff dropped everything to do what they could. The veterinarian asked for consent to basically try everything they could, and I believe they did. While Sugar was lost due to the injuries sustained, I just wanted to say thank you on behalf of both my friend and her 4 legged friend. Eternally grateful.
Not satisfied with how my cat was handled for an x-ray. They had to give a sedative and could not give her fluids even with the sedative. She came back with pain in her paw, I could tell only after so I requested to be with her for the following appointment. They told me I could be there with her for the following ultrasound but would not allow me to be with her when the appointment came. I felt it was best for me to be present during her ultrasound, not only for her general well being & proper after-care but also my peace of mind and her comfort. Took her to VEG where they handled everything, let me be with her throughout the entire procedure, and billed me a quarter of the costs for double the meds. Will likely not come back.
Wonderful people. You can really tell that they care about the people and pets that walk through that door. They actively listen, they communicate effectively, and work with you to find a solution to any problems you may have. I have went through two deaths with them, and each time they were respectful and understanding of what a troubling decision that is to go through. Their customer service is also wonderful, and they are always happy to take their time with you and explain everything thoroughly so you can make the best decision for purchasing medications and stuff like that. I am sad that I am no longer in the area and thus will not be seeing them again. Definitely recommend.
My partner and I absolutely love Metro Paws on Skillman. The last two times we have had the pleasure of having Amanda (she has red hair lol). She is always so welcoming and greets Odie at the car to make Odie feel comfortable to go inside with her. Odie can be a bit naughty at times but she always manages to get him to go inside with her. She always calls to go over any changes from our previous discussions, she always goes over medications to insure I understand them. Dr Campbell is professional and has his patients best interest. They are always so patient with Odie and I really appreciate it. This is my Vet and if you are looking it should be yours too.
Dr. Deresz is more than both our nuggets physician. He has become a part of our family as he has helped us through some scary moments with our fur babies. He has always treated us with the utmost respect and rather than try and sell services will ask what we are able to do financially. I am grateful for his kindness and knowledge when it comes to ensuring the safety of our animals. The staff here are also very friendly and eager to help from the moment you walk in. Their system automatically notifies you by email when it is time for renewals for vaccines, medications, flea & tick prevention, etc. We highly recommend his services and facility!
Our Doberman puppy swallowed a part of his toy that got stuck in his small intestine and had to have emergency surgery. Initially we took him in thinking he just had a tummy ache and needed some medicine but after a radiograph they knew he needed surgery. Dr. Campbell, our tech Essence, and the rest of the staff at Metro paws did an amazing job and we couldn’t be more thankful for their knowledge and overall care they provided to our Blaze. Thank you guys so much Btw if an emergency like this happens to your pet and you need a payment plan, they offer a service called scratch pay so that’s a HUGE help for accidents that may come up.
I would recommend this place if you want your fur babies to get the best attention possible. My cat got really sick and they made sure that she was seen right away. She had a very high fever and they acted quickly. I am so grateful to Dr. Deresz for being great at explaining everything that our cat needed. He provided a sense of comfort in letting us know what was going on. Alma and Marina were also very helpful whenever we had questions. Jeff did an amazing job at taking care of our cat and she liked him so much! That said a lot since she isn't a very social cat. I am so glad we took her here where they provided amazing help for her.
I have the utmost trust in the Veterinarians, the Vet tech David, the staff is always friendly courteous and are genuinely concerned about the care of my dog. My chihuahua Angel is happy to go with the staff or the Vet tech or either Veterinarian. After my dog was mistreated and didn’t receive the care I paid for at Hillside Veterinarian Clinic I Dallas I was so relieved to be taking my dog to a stable, caring and reasonably priced Veterinarian that respects and cares for your dog in a warm and loving way. I appreciate ALL of you at Metro Sincerely Jan Wallace ❤️
We’ve been going to Metro Paws for the last 4 years. They really became our heros in August 2020 when they discovered our golden had a mass on his shoulder during a routine checkup. It ended up being cancerous and we were referred to a cancer specialist (MedVet). We ultimately ended up having to amputate one of his front legs and its been a helluva year adjusting to the tri-pawd life. We have Metro Paws to thank for bringing this to our attention because he likely wouldn’t be here today.....He’s 5 years old and thriving. Thank you Metro Paws for everything you do.
Metro Paws has helped me with all my fur babies! Whether it was a cut on a paw, a urinary tract infection, or just vaccinations, the doctors and staff are amazing! They seem to genuinely care about their patients and their owners. I have yet to leave without receiving a compliment (or many) about my cats. I have left my animals there overnight, and trust them with my fur babies completely. I love all of the staff there, but especially Darren, he is very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend taking your pet there for treatment or boarding. Thank you Metro Paws!
Dr. Fraleigh, Dr. Deresz, Shay and all of the staff at MetroPaws are some of the best in the business. Dr. Fraleigh always takes the time to answer all of our questions and address even the smallest of concerns. We are so lucky to have a vet that cares for our dog as if he were her own. She's taught so much about caring for our Lab, and been with us every step of the way since day one. It's a wonderful feeling to know that your pet is receiving the best, quality care. The staff of MetroPaws goes above and beyond. Buddy always looks forward to his visits! :)
I love this office. The staff are so friendly and understanding. I'm a doting dog mom who gets nervous even when I just need to take my dog to get annual shots, but I know I'm in great hands at MetroPaws. We love Dr. Badamo who is now primarily at the Oak Cliff location, but all of the vets and assistants we've met have been lovely. They are attentive and I don't feel rushed during each consultation. They treat my dog with love and check on him after any procedures or shots to make sure he's doing okay. I would recommend them to any and all animal owners.
My dog Gemma had a bump on her back between her shoulders blades that burst under the skin. I called around to find an inexpensive vet. I live on disability and have no money for emergencies. I booked an appointment and it saved me $5 for the exam. Dr Gates is wonderful she stayed under the amount of money I had in the bank and they didn’t charge me for the next visit or the procedure that they had to do. The whole staff is great and you can tell that they really do care for the animals. Thank you so so much for helping my girl
I've been taking my two-year-old beagle mix to Metro Paws on Skillman since I adopted her in 2021. Everyone there is very nice, from the front desk to the vet techs to the veteriarians themselves, which is great because I have such an anxious dog. I especially love how communicative this office is when you have an appointment and after they see your pet. They let me know when my dog is due for shots and meds, and they follow up after appointments to ask me how she's doing. We feel very well cared for when we visit Metro Paws.
We love Metro Paws! They have been so amazing, I’m a first time cat owner and I got my baby at 6 weeks and they have been with us every step of the way. He’s recently been neutered and they took great care of him and his recovery is going smoothly. I will definitely always reccomend this place. They are always available if you have questions, will work with you if you ask, also they will call and check on your animal after every visit which I think is so nice. Love love love Metro Paws on Skillman ❤️
Every single person I’ve come in contact with from the vets to the techs to the front desk staff have always been nothing short of amazing. The vets always take their time when examining your pet and they also take the time to answer any questions or concerns you may have. I feel like every single staff member at this location genuinely cares for your pet. One thing I’ve always appreciated is that the vets and technicians are always up front about pricing before they start treating your pet.
My go-to recommendation for all pet parents. Metro Paws has never let me down when it comes to quality care and advice for my family pets. My pup loves stopping in to say hello for “happy visits” and the staff are always friendly, attentive, and happy to see us. Even if I have a quick question or need help in an emergency (snake bite on the sniffer, for example) I am always met with expert advice and follow-through. Thank you to all of the staff for taking care of my fur-family and me!
Dr. Deresz and his staff are the very best! My kitten had a multitude of health issues in the first month I had him, ranging from conjunctivitis to an intussusception that required emergency surgery and the team at Metro Paws Skillman went above and beyond to give him the very best care. The entire staff is kind, patient, and truly love what they do! It is so helpful that they are open on the weekends and have found their prices to be very reasonable. Can’t recommend this team enough!
This is place is so good and patient i left with horrible news that my baby had heart worms but they helped me with pluto so much, being it was his first time at the vets! Very informative and affordable in my end loved how they helped me understand everything and had so much patience with pluto because hes a very hyper and reactive pit. They explain to me about my options and future estimates for expenses. This place knows their stuff and are hands down the best in Dallas !
1 yr update: This place continues to surpass my expectations. Staff is SO friendly from the Techs to the Dr.s. I still very much recommend them for your pets. This place is amazing. We have been going here for almost 2 years and the staff is absolutely fantastic. Our main vet is Dr. Deresz but we have seen others and you will be in good hands no matter what. I would highly recommend this vet for your furry friend if you live in the area.
$$$$ Expensive! I paid nearly $200 for a visual examination and 1 shot on a cat that did not want to eat. They spend a lot of time haggling for high dollars in laboratory work. To resolve the problem, I have to convince the veterinary to inject the animal with a general antibiotic! Otherwise, I would have been compel to walk away from nearly $100 consultation or had a prescription for something oral on a cat that refuse to eat.
I cannot quite express how wonderful the staff and medical care is at Metro Paws! I was 40 minutes way from my regular vet when my puppy got super sick and they were able to quickly diagnose him, get a treatment plan in place, calm my hysteria, and give me peace of mind. Without their quick response my puppy would surely have went downhill fast. Thank you specifically to Sheridan and Dr Gates for their kindness and hard work.
I have a special needs dog...who has pancreatitis often.... We often dont have the luxury of being able to see the same vet...we try and stick to a few of the same vets....or clinics. Metro paws has squeezed us in last minute twice and you have no idea how much this means to me. They haven't treated me like I was a burden or just a nice last minute easy buck. I thoroughly appreciate their compassion and professionalism
I took my baby (dog) there for an emergency visit. There was little done to try to help her. They did not care about her well being. The staff was just performing unnecessary procedures, so they could charge $ 1200.00. Then they discharged her so she could have an agonizing death in my arms as I'm driving around to find a veteran that could actually help as they were not equipped for the care my baby girl needed.
They are nice enough, but we have had two pets misdiagnosed and ultimately pass away while going down the wrong path and treating the wrong symptoms. Their pricing is fair and it’s easy to get an appointment (though the wait times to be seen once you’re in the back room are too long), but I think there are probably better vets and after several years of regular visits, we have started going to another practice.
My first experience with Metro Paws was when my dog ripped her tooth out and I rushed in completely panicked. They were extremely nice, professional, and took care of my dog as if she was their own. I’ve been going back since and mostly see Dr. David. He really takes the time to explain any issue, which allows me to make a well informed decision. All of their staff is kind. I no longer hop around vet offices.
We had an amazing first experience. There was no judgment given for my choice of using a raw food diet for my dog which is huge for me. Curbside check-in was effortless. Diagnosis, opinion, and information was transparent. Absolutely zero pressure. My girl came out with a spring in her step after a sick weekend. Thank you so much for taking care of Cara! One of the best vet experiences I've ever had.
My senior cat recently developed a UTI, and after talking to me over the phone Metropaws fit me in the same day for treatment and tests. He's now home, curled up in my lap, and feeling better already. I appreciate the quick care as any issues with a senior kitty can be scary! We just moved to the area and both my cats' normal vet is a good 2 hour drive from here so I think they've found a new vet. (:
Incredible business with incredible people! The service they provide is best in Dallas! They are still following up with me on yearly checkup/service for my pup, even after I moved out of the area a couple months back and notified them of my absence - I cannot begin to press how much that means to me. Lastly, my dog hates the Vet... but for some reason forgets that I exist when I drop him off there!
After going to numerous pet hospitals after finding two small kittens and being turned away because they weren't able to do anything. Metro paws animal hospital took the time to see us and our little babies. They explained how best to care for them and made sure to answer any and all questions we had. Staff was excellent and very welcoming. 5 stars is not nearly enough for this pet hospital
These people are incredible! I love them. We came in at a busy time, but my little Dachshund had a terrible skin, hair issue. Had begun to scratch all the time. I couldn't sleep, and felt so bad for her. They were incredible. Caring. Helpful. Really.... I LOVE these guys. So great to work with. Very reasonable. My dogs mean a LOT to me. [3 Dachshunds] and these guys are the best!
I had an appointment for my sick cat at 2:30p which was made the morning of. I was told later by a lady that the previous guy didn’t actually put my reservation in the system even though confirmed on the phone with him. They told me there was nothing they could do. Great concern for a lethargic kitten that needed help. Will never recommend until they replace the careless staff.
Good vet from my limited interaction. Spacious location, plenty of staff, and they were able to get me in to see a vet same day when all the other vets in my particular area had waiting lists of 1-2 weeks at least and no exceptions unless a true emergency. Their price for a first exam was reasonable. I'll likely be checking out further services from them for my pets.
I love Metro Paws! I’ve taken in everything from dogs to cats to turtles and they always provide a really thoughtful and informed level of care. I almost always learn something new during a visit, because they are dedicated to giving clients all the information needed to give their pets the best life. I trust them with my fur babies of the past, present, and future.
I adopted a fully grown dog and brought him here for his check ups and to make sure everything was in order. A year later I adopted a puppy and brought him here as well to get his rounds of shots. All the staff were lovely. The front desk workers, the veterinary nurses, and the veterinarians themselves! Very kind to the dogs, very knowledgeable and eager to help.
Great people, great service. Overall a great experience. Of note, there always is a complaint about cost. However, you are taking your pet to the Dr. They were very consciousness about pricing out each treatment and affiliated costs. They did not try to push expensive alternatives. We feel very comfortable with our 2 large dogs at Metro Paws Skillman.
I am always so pleased with how the staff treats my fur child. They genuinely care about the health of your animal, and provide you with the best information on the health of your pet, shot record, and basically anything else you need to know. If I could give more stars, I would, without a doubt! Shoutout to the whole staff & Dr. Deresz!
All of the Doctors, Techs, and office staff at this Metro Paws Skillman location are just top notch! Whether it's a sick visit, vaccinations, dental cleanings/extractions, annual wellness checks, prescriptions, they always take such great wonderful care of our little pups! So glad they are close to our house! Highly recommend!
We love Metro Paws! We have been going to MP for seven years and I am always happy with their work and how much they love and care for my Maddox. I trust them to do the right thing, and I've recommended them to friends who also love them! Maddox says thank you Metro Paws for keeping me healthy! We especially love Dr. Badamo!
I cannot express enough, the CARE that the entire staff took with my service dog, CJ. Dr. Duress, Essence, and the front staff are not just "doing a job". My spouse is a professional dog walker, and we will not hesitate to recommend you. CJ lost his battle, but couldn't have been in better hands. Thank you all! …
I came to Metro Paws in an emergency time of tragedy for my 10 year old dog, Buster. They jumped into action super fast, were kind, caring, knowknowledge and gave me up front pricing that was reasonable. Thank you, Metro Paws staff, for doing all you could to help make my tragic situation bearable!
They are so loving of my fur baby, very observant, and knowledgeable. They make me feel at ease and help to understand rather than talking at me and trust me there’s a lot of businesses who do this. I appreciate their kind staff and how they treat my puppy. The best I’ve had since being in Dallas.
Dr. Deresz and the team at Metro Paws Skillman are informative, professional and extremely caring. I am very pleased and grateful for their help, concern and care of my pets. Dr. Deresz has gone beyond the "call of duty" on more than one occasion to assist with each of my pets well being.
Took my golden retriever there for about a 2 year period - the staff was always friendly, pricing was reasonable, and scheduling a time for an appointment was always easy. Just called for my dogs records and had them in my inbox in less than 60 seconds. Good people over here.
Dr. Deresz is awesome. He is always attentive, friendly, and takes the time to explain treatment options to me for my pup. In general I love this place and 100% trust them. They are on the pricier side but when it comes to my fur baby's health, I'll pay whatever it takes.
Really loved Dr. Lukowski. Wonderful bedside manner! She took her time answering all my questions, and getting me info for the future. The vet tech was really great as well, but I regret that I didn't get her name. Both of them were go loving and sweet with my babies.
Hands down the best. I have been to many other vets in Dallas (and Austin) - these folks actually care. Doctors / Medical staff are great, and the front office staff are so helpful as well! Thank you for being a trusted part of the pet-loving community, Metro Paws❤️
We have taken 3 of our 4 cats here and have had nothing but great experiences. We always have any questions answered and they ALWAYS call to check on our cats the day after each visit. They do a wonderful job of letting you know they care about your animals!
For a vets office it is very welcoming and comfortable for both me and my dog. The doctor takes my concerns seriously and truly cares for the well-being of my boy. It’s hard to find a caring and trust worthy vet and I’m lucky to have this establishment.
So happy to have found this awesome veterinary practice! Essence is a wonderful veterinary assistant and Dr. Deresz is the best. They were very patient, kind & knowledgeable & their rates quite reasonable. I highly recommend Metro Paws Skillman. …
You can't find a place who will love your pet more. They have 24/7 boarding and what can be better than having your loved one boarded with a vet? Anything from annual shots to in depth surgery they will work with you. Ask for doctor dresden (sp).
The doctors and techs were extremely thorough and caring. Poor Jane was absolutely torn up and they were extremely gentle with her the whole time. She seemed very comfortable. I, on the other hand, was an utter wreck. They were gentle with me too
They lie about their pricing. I called to pick up de-worming medication for my 2 cats. They told me on the phone it would be $21 or $22 each cat. Then when I show up they tell me “I don’t know who told you $22 or who quoted that for you but
We appreciate all the kindness and speedy care that metro paws skillman provides. The vets that we have met since moving to town are friendly and patient as they deliver information. They are open 7 days a week which makes a huge difference
Juno has been to this clinic since hes been a kitten.he had bloody stool and was very skinny/small when I got him I was so frantic calling clinics and this was the only place were they could hear my voice wavering and almost crying.they
Did not end up taking my cat here because her condition improved, but the vet spoke with me on the phone personally and informed me of what could be happening with her, what could be done, offered me an opening to visit within the half
I’ve been taking my dogs here for almost 2 years. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. I’m always able to get an appointment in a reasonable amount of time and they are very accommodating. I can’t recommend Metro Paws enough!
I bring all of my dogs to this clinic and love it. They are upfront with pricing and the Veterinarians here are very knowledgeable. The staff is welcoming and friendly. Do yourself a favor and bring your babies here for the best care.
when my Lucy was attacked by another dog, Dr. Gates was able to see her right away. her stitches and wound treatment were done with precision and care. the whole team was so sweet with me and Lucy. I'm incredibly grateful to them!
They have been taking excellent care of my dog Farfignugen for years! The staff and the doctors are incredible! I’ve never had a bad experience. Thank you Metropaws Skillman for continuing to take care of Farfy so well! ♥️ …
Metro Paws is OK. They make you get a chip to board your dog since they don't have an outdoor play area. We've continued going there because of the great location, but I think there have to be better boarding options.
The kind staff at Metro Paws have helped us to say goodbye to two of our beloved and we cannot recommend them highly enough for their care and concern at such a painful time. Truly, deeply grateful for their services.
an awesome staff!!!Took care of my dog with the utmost care. I was super impressed with their kindness towards my dog & answered every question i had. I will definitely be going back for all my pet's needs!!!
I am a first-time puppy parent, and having Metro Paws down the street is a massive weight off of my shoulders. They are responsive, kind, thorough, and patient with all of my questions. My pup loves them!
Maria Badamo is our Vet here, she is amazing and really care for our pets. I live Almost an hour away from the here, but I don't mind the drive cause I know my babies get the best treatment!
This is our regular vet and we love them so much! So accommodating and all of the staff are so nice! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a new place to take their favorite critter.
All employees are friendly and knowledgeable. The doctor, woman, was thorough and easy with my little dog. She was professional but nice. 4 stars because I think they are expensive.
I've been bringing my dog here for 9 years now and they are wonderful! Great doctors, great techs, great staff. I feel like my dog is loved and well cared for every single time.
Had to let my dog Rocko go today. Hardest thing I’ve had to do. The staff were so kind and compassionate. Thank you to the doctor and all who were there to give us peace.
Everyone is very knowledgable, compassionate, dedicated, and patient. This animal hospital has been so wonderful to me and my family and I can't thank them enough!
I love this veterinarian team! From humble beginnings to several clinics, they’re creating an amazing legacy. Keep up the great work …
Love that this location has appointments. And they were right on time. Great doctors and staff. I highly recommend this location.
I’m glad I found this place ! The staff is very helpful and friendly!!! Great place to take your pet !! Thank You again
Above and beyond. Willing to see Ruby last minute and called to check up on her after the visit.
Great attention to detail on their care for their fur babies as they come through the door.
Dr. Gates literally saved my dog's life. I'd leave 10 stars if I could.
Always a great place for any pet. Caring employees and doctors. Y
