I rented an apartment for a year in the CBD with Melcorp. First of all, the apartment came to me in a subpar state – trash (plastic bottles, used tissue paper) was found beneath the beds, kitchen cabinets had stains, etc. Admittedly, as a first time renter, I did not fill in my condition report as thoroughly as I should have. Filed 2-3 maintenance requests about my ensuite bathroom emitting a foul, strong sewage smell – no response. Even had the person who came for a routine inspection of the place (Sherzan) notified of the smell, who promised me in person that he would file a report and get someone to have it fixed, STILL did not hear anything back. On a separate note, I was hoping to continue renting the place and renewing my lease, but I got word from them that the rent would be increased by $250 a week (ridiculous pricing, even for Melbourne's rental crisis). When asked for justification for why the price jump was so high, Shelly Lau was incredibly dismissive. Did not answer my questions (relevant and politely worded), did not provide the information I requested, only responded with sweeping statements like "Please let me know if you'd like to move out" (paraphrasing). She also in the past spoke to me over email very crudely and unprofessionally. I just gave up and opted to vacate. Now that I'm out, a new agent Katrina Zhang pointed out a handful of minor marks/stains (which were already in the place when I moved but I didn't include in the condition report) and told me it would take $760 off my bond to repair. Not only is she incredibly rude in our email correspondence, she also refused to provide a breakdown of the cost and how they arrived at $760 until asked repeatedly, which is a ridiculously exorbitant amount. Did not give me enough time to sort out a solution either (communicated this on Tuesday, new tenant moves in Friday same week). This company also refused to provide spare keys (I only had one set the entire time), and charged a $100+ deposit on a spare set for my sister with no explanation as to why. This is so weird considering I've heard good things about this company. Very disappointed and extremely unhappy with their service and staff – will most definitely be boycotting Melcorp for future housing needs.

2nd day after signing my lease and I have already encountered endless problems with this Property Management. I have never experienced such a bad experience after living 6 years in Melbourne with 3 different Property Managements. Melcorp is the 4th property management I've used and by far the worst. Especially Property Manager Shelly Lau: If you find your property to be handled by her, please avoid. Save your time and money by searching other properties or rather be handled by someone else. She can't even do her job right. I have complained about several unhygienic stuff in my current new place and all she said to me was "you should have told the cleaner what to clean". Please keep in mind I'm the new tenant here but she's telling me its my fault that the property is not clean. I thought she's the property manager? She should be the one telling the cleaners to clean! And to make sure that unit is in an acceptable living condition. She never responds to our email. Argues on the phone with us and doesn't resolve our problem. Worst communication. And 0 problem solving skills. If she's telling me what to do, what is she getting paid for? I might as well just replace her job for her.

A disappointing experience. I called to obtain a standard rental reference for a prospective tenant who had applied to my property and was currently renting through Melcorp (standard practice). I was gruffly greeted by a rude receptionist who's grasp of English was minimal. When I asked to speak with the property manager who I had been specifically referred to, she demanded to know why I wanted to speak to her. I told her why I was calling, and she cut me off saying "did you email her". When I replied no, she dismissed me by suggesting that the property manager would have no interest in speaking to me unless I had sent an email. After practically being hung up on, I sent the property manager an email. Still haven't heard back from anyone..... pity for the prospective tenant who will not be successful in securing the property as they have no rental reference because of Melcorp.

For those who wanted have their bond back after vacating the place, you might need to reconsider renting with Melcorp. The property agent I was dealing with is Dion. He was a nice and polite person to talk to over the phone. However, for the bond/deposit of ~$2000 I've paid, they requested to take away ~$1600 for the unreasonable charges described as follows. Cleaning for toilet mould/a little rust on the concrete floor where rains get in every time : ~$300 2 fallen very old towel rails: ~$165 ('discount' from $338). Aircon remote replacement: ~$150 ('discount' from $264) (Ebay only costs ~$20) Fixing wardrobe door (claimed "hard to close"): $500 ('discount' from $900). replacement of intercom handset: ~$400. Honestly its quite disappointing to the fact that I've done my best to look after the place as if they are mine, and this is what I ended up getting.

Reliable & Trustworthy Agent. This is the 2nd time we had engaged Sophia to sell our property in Melbourne, on both occasions she had successfully sold our property. Despite taking a slightly longer time to sell our 2nd property due to market sentiments, Sophia had been very patient & persistent in looking for a suitable & the right buyer for our property. Sophia is highly recommended if you want someone trustworthy & reliable to help you with your property transactions. We are foreign investors, so we had left it entirely to Sophia handle the sale. Everything was a breeze dealing with Sophia from the time we engaged her services until the sale was concluded. Thanks very much again, Sophia, for your patience and persistence in looking for the right buyer for us and for securing the sale at a price that we were comfortable with.

I found Eamon Chau, from Melcorp Real Estate, to be thoughtful, composed, and effective in his communication and problem-solving approach. He is considerate and patient, taking the time to suggest new plans and giving them the necessary time to activate. He also has a calm exterior, which helps to maintain focus and perspective. At the same time, Eamon is not afraid to be straightforward and tell it like it is. He is honest with you and keeps you updated on the progress of things. If a plan doesn't work out, he was willing to learn from it and move on to the next best option. Overall, this is a great manner to have in both personal and professional relationships. It demonstrates a combination of emotional intelligence, strategic thinking, and strong communication skills.

I have been living in Melbourne with the help of Melcorp Real Estate and Athena Leung is the agent assigned to assist me in my rental needs. Athena in brief is a really positive and helpful agent, I personally have a lot of experiences with agents, service providers, and contractors for different things, but it's really rare to see someone really quick to reply to inquiries and tries their very best to assist as Athena was. To top it off, she gave really clear explanation and clarifies with me if she has any insufficient information instead of leaving the matter for later, this ensure the processes of the inquiry is done promptly and that communication with me is of a high priority. I started the contract with Melcorpy to lease my property since 2015. I'm always happy about my property Manager Manuel's professionalism. The business development manager Edith who speaks Mandarin also provides detailed services to me and my mother and she is really passionate in helping us solving problems. Don't know how to say but from the communications, I feel Manuel and Edith are both really reliable people, I can trust them and feel free to let them manage my property. BTW, My boyfriend attended the apartment inspection of Melcorp before. He said everyone in Melcorp was really friendly even though you didn't apply.

I must say that I have been very impressed lately with the management of my apartment at the Artist in Fitzroy ,Victoria. The property has been managed by Melcorp since 2010 and at the beginning the service was average. Over the years matters have improved a fair bit. However since the appointment of the Senior Property Manager, Ms Rabbiah El-Sabhini, the standard has improved considerably. She is very efficient and hands on, queries and requests are responded quickly and professionally and she makes herself available at all times. I only wish that she stays with Melcorp for the long haul.

Worst experience ever! Such a dishonest agent that is poor in service and professionalism. Particularly with the property manager Dion Flowers who is unprofessional, unethical and incapable. They ripped off tenant's bond money and recommended unreliable cleaning company as their agent cleaner. Spoke with them and none of them tried to help out and solve the problem like other agents. The most irresponsible, terrible and the worst agent ever in Melbourne. DO NOT recommend at all unless you want your money to be deceived by this unscrupulous agent.

Rabbiah has been a brilliant and efficient property manager for the past 2 years for me as a tenant. During my first tenancy, the landlord wanted to move in and gave notice to vacate. Rabbiah instantly found me an equal apartment in the same building without any hassle. She managed to organise this before the first open inspection and had the paperwork sorted saving me from a ton of stress and hassle of being forced to move. It was not our thought to get an apartment as investment as there were some negative reports over the years on apartments. After talking to Arthur, we felt confident to make the move. He had helped us through everything we needed from loan, stamp duty etc, especially in touch with renting department. After sale, he continued to help us with other details such as recommending tradesman even that was not his job. Highly recommend him.

My partner waited for over an hour at a SCHEDULED inspection yesterday. He called the office 5 times, and each time he explained that he was waiting for ROMINA ALESSI to show up at the property, they cut the call at his face. This is extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. If you've scheduled an inspection, it's the minimum expectation to show up to it. Definitely not applying to any other properties that Melcorp represents.
