beautiful aesthetic, and there is even a cafe inside! most of the stationary is on the first floor, but the basement is where they keep all the good stuff. sci-fi (my personal favorite), political nonfiction, horror, LGBTQ, race theory, graphic novels, poetry, thriller, the list goes on and on. you name it, they’ve got it.
Been meaning to visit this bookstore for some time. It was worth the wait. They have an amazing selection. I was happy to see they even had a nice couple of shelves of novels and poetry in Spanish downstairs. Also, can’t go wrong with a a four legged staff member helping out! …
Bought one very long heavy book here on a Saturday afternoon when I parted ways with my boyfriend in SoHo. He wanted to go clothes shopping but I only had $30 as my prior purchase was a fresh bottle of a perfume that I cherish. Well air conditioned and intuitively organized.
This will always be one of my favorite book stores. The curation of books, recommendations and conversations happening are top notch and it is always one of my favorite places to stop in the city to read a book jacket, pick up Cereal Magazine or meet a friend for tea.
Beautifully layed out bookshop. Friendly staff. There are plenty of fabulous books to choose from. Two level of books but they also sell various things. Look up when you’re there to admire the hanging books. Check this place out when you are in the Soho area!
It's a nice independent bookstore with a unique design. They have quite a large selection of books as well. Although their cafe is small, they serve a variety of yummy cookies, drinks, and various good eats. Staff is helpful and professional as well.
Beautiful new location and really nice selection of books. You could spend hours here browsing and discovering new books. However, it was incredibly awkward when a staff member started losing their cool at the computer. Maybe don’t slam the
THE bookstore in NYC, IMO. You can lose yourself in here for a long, long time. The selection is both current and esoteric. They have well-chosen selection for so many topics - art, film, lit, fiction, kids. Also there's a wonderful double
This is by far my favorite book store in NYC. There’s SO much thought put into the layout of the store. There are so many highlighted books from staff recommendations. They also do a really good job of highlighting different genres (new in
I called to have a book placed on hold and the woman I spoke with was very short and sounded like I was inconveniencing her. When I went down to soho to pick up the book the store was closed, even though I arrived during business hours the
One of my favorite bookstores of all time. Curated and presented beautifully; clearly created by people who truly love books. Unfortunately since Covid the cafe is no longer there but it may be reopened outdoors in the future according to
A very beautiful bookstore with a lot of great books, the surrounding area in SoHo is also very very pretty and the buildings are just gorgeous. The bookstore also sells stationary. The people are also very sweet and friendly :)
One of my favorite bookstores in the area! They have some of the most unique books and even zines/local publications. They also have really helpful recommendations and friendly faces to help you find the right book.
I love the bookstore! Its a great place to take your time and choose a book or magazine. I like it when I find a spot in the coffee room and enjoy a cup while carefully checking a few magazines out.
Book store is very nice, they also have good amount of stationary items which are expensive but you might find something really unique. Gets very crowded and cramped on the weekend.
They moved to a closer location. Very impressed at the signed copy of yellow face by R. F. Kuang at the window. Their Asian literature selection is small but good taste.
The new space is beautiful. I was here this time for a journal. They have a large stock of journals, as well as pens and greeting cards; in addition to all of the books!
Came with the 2-year-old for weekly reading sessions, still coming with the 12-year-old almost weekly to complement his library. And great selection for adults, too!
Beautiful bookstore with a myriad array of titles across a spectrum of genres. My Go-To spot in lower Manhattan to quench my appetite for Knowledge and Inspiration!
I say a little prayer each night that great bookstores like MJ and other community anchors out there hold strong against the digital goliaths overtaking retail.
Went with a friend who is in the publishing know—one of the best bookstores and has its own imprint. A great selection, and a wonderful experience.
Great amazing big library! They have different areas with books in many languages. It is also a great place to find beautiful stationery products.
This place is so cozy and has a ton of good books. I really love their McNally published series as well. There are very kind people who work here.
I love this bookstore. The expansive but still curated selection and the friendly and knowledgeable staff make it a standout for me. I’ll be back!
Nice bookstore in soho Books are well organized and There are also little stationery sections where you can buy pens, notes, cards, and postcards!
It's a huge and nice bookstore. It includes varieties categories. Also a coffee shop inside. It's not only a bookstore but also a small library.
Didn't find all the books I was looking for, but anyway there's an enormous choice and a great variety of books. Good book store.
Fantastic children’s book ROOM downstairs through the elevator. So many baby board books and goes all the way to teenage fiction
Has kind of a Powell's vibe that makes you want to browse for hours. Liked the selection and ended up buying two books.
A truly special place! Friendliness and lots of books to choose from. A beautiful bookshop, absolutely recommended!
Absolutely such a cute and heart warming book store near Tribeca! A variety of books to choose from. ❤️
it was actually quite nice and very well put together. i just wished they had more diversity
Excellent bookshop, knowledgeable staff, went the extra mile to get a book for me. Thanks
The owner of this store is amazing. I highly recommend. Amazing selection of books.
Really really great bookstore, but be aware there is no coffee shop.
