This is my favorite Mexican Restaurant in #Pdx! The rice is as close as I can get toy Mother's rice, she's been passed over 12 years. At Mazatlan on Burnside - it's like a vacation. They have Karaoke on the weekends also - which I too, also love. The food is quality, substantial and huge portions. I love their Fajitas - but today I got the combo #4 plate for lunch, and a Pacific on Draft. Luis - amazing people person. So wonderful and nice. He took my work stress away with his wonderful hospitality. You will really enjoy this Mexican Restaurant. When I was a kid - this was a swanky joint called, 'Bill's Gold Coin'. It was a legend in itself in our town. Highly recommend Mazatlan and Luis, will be your bartender.

Great service, food came out quick and was awesome. Classic Mexican Restaurant style, the burrito was topped (which means eating by hand is not an option). Good vibes, the sunken floor plan with tips of glass walls and ceiling was really cool. Worth the trip.

They have a small lot, and also it is very pedestrian friendly, access by foot is not inhibited by an obnoxious parking lot.

Nice people good food. My brother and I always come by and patronize this restaurants. It's our family's go to restaurant for birthdays. The Catallac Margaritas were watered down. When you pay that much for these drinks. One would think it should be worth it! My only complaint.

Mazatlan on Burnside is a staple. I've been going here for over 10yrs. Staff is charming and efficient, food is very good, drinks are great, and the restaurant is non-pretentious, seems owned/operated by actual Mexican people. Franchises are frequently small businesses and I'm here for it.

Margarita was perfect for my taste. Portions were large. Granted it wasn't busy when I was there but the service was great. Many times when places are slow service can be terrible because the staff stands around talking. I will definitely be back.

Mazatlan has amazing delicious plates and be ready to eat everything. The salsa is also delicious. My kids are extremely picky and they have asked me to comeback. We are visiting from Moreno Valley CA and this place has better food than most restaurants in CA. Most likely we are coming back to try the breakfast.

The food is perfect here! Traditional American- style Mexican food, fast service, always the way I want it. I have been going here for years. A very family- friendly restaurant. Margaritas are their specialty! I always order the bean burrito, sometimes with beans and rice on the side. Delicious and fast.

Our first stop in Portland and it’s open later than most restaurants. Was satisfied and fulfilled by the portions and the quality. Salsa was good also but was in a small container. Service was fine and parking was difficult at first but saw a small free parking lot available next/behind the restaurant. I’d recommend if for late night food.

Good Mexican restaurant food. It's not a taqueria or a truck. Service was very poor considering the amount of staff. It was difficult for me to leave a tip because I didn't feel like it was a thank you...

We had the best Mexican lunch ever. I had so many shrimp on my plate. I couldn't eat them all. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her Enchladas The waitress was the best part she was fun. Smart good at her job made great suggestions. I would go back any time.

Overall good, we didn’t have to wait to get a table. Fajita needed more tortillas as there was way too much filling for only 3 tortillas. Free chips and salsa before the meal. Mango margarita was big and refreshing

Chips and salsa were good and thats about it. The chicken tacos were large, but had almost no taste to them and the meat was very dry. We were also the only ones in the entire restaurant on a Saturday at 7pm, which retrospectively was a pretty red flag that we didn’t heed. More

Saturday about 6pm. People in the bar area, no one dining outside, and inside dining one group of three and our three. Service was right away. Food was very good and plentiful. Pricing seems fair. Our needs were met, and I plan to return in the future. More

Came here for my bday dinner and oh my god the deluxe enchiladas were delicious!! It was a huge platter at such a good price too. The staff was friendly and the margarita was to die for. Definitely coming back if I’m ever in the area.

The thing that made the experience stand out the most was the service. Our server was attentive but not over bearing. Even though we were sitting outside. The prices were fair and the drinks are good. We will be returning again.

  • Heather Nelson

The food tasted amazing and authentic. Hot, fresh and great portions. We were headed to one restaurant and it was closed and we landed here. I am so glad it was closed. This is one of my new favorite places

Pretty damn good and a great day celebrating memories of our friend's mother who passed away over the holidays. Service was excellent and the food was very good. Drinks were great! More

One of the very few places open a day after the wild February blizzard. The place was warm and well kept, food was good and the drinks too; exactly what me and my family needed.

Great food and service. Margaritas were delicious. Came here for the first time right after the timbers game. Place was packed but service was still on point.

This is the most disgusting tortilla soup I've ever had. Their margaritas taste like popsicles. And when I complained about it, the server got snarky with me.

  • Melissa NB

Service was friendly and quick even with only one waitress serving multiple groups. Food was delicious and my friends enjoyed their cocktails.

  • Chris LeFave

Junior was an excellent server. The food was excellent and the drinks were not overly strong. This is a must go place when visiting Portland.
