I am writing here to complain and warn everyone about the four men from Masjid Omar on Busch Blvd that approached my personal residence on 4/25 at 7pm. They found me by looking up local county records of Muslim sounding names and approaching my residence in pursuit of looking for "Muslim men to join their mosque". Fine but when I told these men, "There are no Muslim men here" they proceeded to ask me intrusive questions on if I'm married and if I live alone here. What part of me saying there are no Muslim men here isn't enough to leave my property and go away? Is it not inappropriate and creepy enough that I'm a single female standing alone outside my parked car and these four Dawah men are asking such intrusive questions while standing on my footpath to my door? This experience has shaken and frightened me. It's not ok for any woman to have men show up unannounced at their home, asking for Muslim men to join their mosque, and when told no men live here to continue their intrusive inquiry into personal matters. Masjid Omar if you are seeing this - know your men have successfully made me feel unsafe and insecure in my own home.

Men from this masjid harassed my friend, a young Muslim woman, at her own home asking her very inappropriate questions in a threatening way making her feel incredibly unsafe. Without proper handling of this matter, I would avoid this masjid until they take their faith more seriously, respect and support women (practice what you preach, come on), and reprimand and teach these (and all) the men in their congregation proper behaviour.

I do not recommend this masjid. They harass women that are outside alone and ask invasive personal questions making them fear for their safety. Islaam mai kahan likha hai kai aurton ko harass kar kai aur personal sawaal poch kar dawah daina chahiye?? Astagfirullah. Dawah ka yeh kaisa tareeqa hai? They need to learn etiquette!! This is not a muslim country where women can’t feel safe leaving their house alone.

It seems like a beautiful masjid but my family will not be coming because of the extreme harassment inflicted on a sister during our holy month of Ramadan! Four brothers from this masjid came to a sister’s house and when she tried to tell them to leave after asking very personal questions they did not immediately! Very inappropriate and VERY HARAM!

The “Tharki Mullahs” of this mosque harrases women. If you ever want to visit this place, make sure you don’t go with your Mother/Sister/Daughter because they might harasses them as well!! The staff of this mosque goes to people houses and asks women if they are single or not so if they ever come to your house, please don’t open the door.

This place is operated by men who weren’t taught how to respect women. This is shameful. Islam teaches how women should be valued and respected, but these people go to single women and ask them intrusive questions. How is this an acceptable behavior by men who operate a mosque? Astaghfirullah.

Some men from this Masjid went to my friends home and started asking her intrusive questions. Extremely unethical, personal questions like if she lives alone etc. And when she tried contacting the Masjid administration to complain they just shushed her. Shame on you!

This mosque sends men to harass young single women living alone. This is predatory behavior and completely unacceptable. They were rude, predatory, intrusive, and approach women AT NIGHT in transitional places (parking lots, garages, etc) and make women feel unsafe.

This place sends men to knock on doors of anyone with muslim sounding names on county records. This is harassment and causes people especially women to feel unsafe in their own homes when the men also ask intrusive questions.

This place should be a place for safe and peace ..please stop sending men to women’s houses and pretend you are searching for muslim men then start asking creepy questions .. stop stalking women with Islamic names in the area

Stop harassing people that may have a Muslim-sounding name, especially women! You don’t have that right! This is not some south Asian Muslim country where this type of behavior could be acceptable.

My favorite mosque in this neighborhood. Very peaceful and calm. Extremely down to earth attendees. Across the street there is a cozy Moroccan Cafe with some tasteful pastries.

It was once small and there wasn't many people, but now it's very crowded and lively mashallah, especially at maghrib, ishaa, fajr and jumaa.

New place friendly brother , extremely helpful , please always visit if you close by or passing by , will never ever disappoint,

Great masjid, this is a small community masjid that has 5 times prayer. Come to learn and find peace.

Spiritual Environment Good location to nearby restaurants as well.

Very accessible from Busch gardens. Lots of restaurants around.

Only place in Tampa to catch Jum'ua at 230pm all year round.
