I was stopped by a security guard x who spoke to me rudly said I stole searched me and I never had anything on me and then said last week I was in here and stole wanted my passport I gave him I'd and he asked what it was I said my holiday booking for last week and tickets claimed it wasn't me Hence he then said I took to much tester perfume the situation was that the perfume top broke and came off so I put some on placing the bottle back with perfume in hence a t ester have reported ignored but said investigating still no response to date The security had no proof or I'd on him and refused to give his name said I was banned for what no paperwork given . Another member of staff was present and they were talking about the queen she was patronising I have phoned marks to take perfume off as faulty bottles still there

Classic M&S offering good quality clothing, food, drink and much more all under one roof. The men's department is upstairs along with a cafe and children's right to the back. The women's department downstairs with home goods and then groceries to the back where there is an exit to the main street. Staff are your typical Marks bunch, proud to be working at Marks and pleasant, friendly but not overly just professional and polite. Store is pretty clean always which is nice. For me the good thing is you know you are getting quality no matter what you buy in Marks. The Romford branch is no different and boosts the fact its over two floors which means it's spacious and feels comfortable to be in.

I was in the food area quite close to the sandwiches on Friday 10th July 2020 and there was a middle aged woman there putting prices on various foods. She had marked a few smoothies and I picked up a Strawberry smoothie from the trolley she was using and she snapped at me very rudely saying she had not finished pricing and clearly the bottle I picked up had a price that she had stuck on. I snapped back at her that she doesn’t have to be rude and put the drink back and couldn’t wait to get out of this unwelcoming store and I don’t intend to return in a hurry and will share my experience with my relatives and friends. The security guy at the front door was friendly and very helpful.

Very bad customer service! Wanted to return a product but they didn’t accept it as the tags were taken out. Also it had marks when I purchased but they didn’t accept it, even though I had receipt and also purchased few days ago! They gave me a very negative impression as if I was not a genuine buyer. They were cold and made me extremely uncomfortable with their behaviour. More than the return, I was upset with how they handled the situation and how cold they were with me. Really really disappointed with their customer service! Didn’t expect that from M&S! It was example of unconscious Bias as they were looking me up and down! Felt very uneasy!

I brought luxury hot Cross buns from Maldon Essex it come with a dirty bloody plaster on the inside bum stuck to the side . I got in contact with customer service who told me it would take up to 6 weeks to sort out and asked me to send the buns and dirty plaster back I did this they are now telling me it was a bit of plastic. Which it wasn’t . They told me they would send me the post money by voucher and to cover the cost of the buns and a little extra I received nothing and I’m now getting totally ignored. Why are the staff not wearing gloves ?? Absolutely disgusting service and even more so disgusting hygiene !!

Clean, spacious, well stocked, and plenty of choice. I look on line to see what's available but nothing can beat going into a main store and trying on the clothes before purchasing. Also the fabrics are sometimes not what you think. I went to buy bras and trousers. Bought 2 bras I hadn't considered on line. 2 pairs of shorts at £12.50 really good value and not on my list. A pair of white crop jeans and white peg linen trousers. Tried them all on again at home will be going back to the store to buy again different colours. Staff pleasant, courteous and helpful.

After a mistaken order was submitted for party food (that was incorrectly ordered for the day after the party we were holding!) the staff in the food section at M&S Romford went above and beyond to help rectify our problem, helping us to find alternatives and pulling it all together for us to have an amazing spread of food for our guests. In particular Julya, Gill and Lynn were wonderful and really helped us to overcome our problem. We really appreciate it ladies, and our guests said the food was amazing! Thanks so much.

This lady worked hard on Sunday evening before closing time. Her managers directed her to a wrong area for my brandy sauce but she sorted it all, and I took her all over the food hall. But she maintained an excellent customer service and that is why its a 4/5. Otherwise it would have been a 2/5. Now for the food, YES YES YES YES Oh divine and you all now I LOVE MY FOOD. Yummy. Mixed assorted nuts, brandy sauce and butter, cranberry & port, cheese biscuits double pack .... rum & raisen ice-cream ... All yummy!

I went into m&s cafe as I always love their choices and the staff are great. Unfortunately on my last visit I ordered their poached eggs and smoked salmon from the breakfast menu which was advertised on a board by the entrance, only to be told that they had run out of eggs! The breakfast menu didn't finish for another 45 minutes so this was really bad planning and the board should have been removed. I felt disappointed but would still go back as the staff are helpful and nice.

An excellent, well-established department store with a great selection of well priced men's, women's and children's clothes. A food area also has a great selection of many people's favourites. The cooked roast chicken has always been one of my go-to meals. Been visiting this store for 50 years now, and on my latest visit the staff were incredibly helpful yet again when I needed to find something. M&S are a class apart.

This is one of those impersonal stores that I have see in a while. I was in the store for 20 minutes and in that time I was not approached by any staff to offer help. I usually like staff to leave me alone until I feel I need one pf them and in some stores there's often one lurking about. In this store the staff were MIA! Either too busy or just not available. I am not going back there even with two lottery wins.

I dred to think what's going to happen in near future. But shopping that l once enjoyed will never be a happy place. Anyway... I was refused a cup of coffee here at m&s Caffè simply because l chose not to download NHS covid 19 app. Why on earth we should be forced things upon us. Can't pay by cash either?! Oh it's recommended to pay by card. So sick of it all! Government turning us all in to trained monkeys.

my husband went there today to change trousers with receipt bag and tags he was accused of wearing the trousers and was humiliated for 20 minutes the lady was rude abrupt and customer services was poor .We have been shopping at m&S for many years and now feel we will be taking our custom elsewhere. He did eventually get his £40 back but said he will shop somewhere else to purchase his clothes in future

Likewise the best quality school uniform however I would recommend ordering online and getting it store delivered due to lack of selection. Food hall a little disappointing and would mark down as the dishwasher is not behind closed doors. We moved seats as you could smell the food waste. Off-putting but once moved is was OK. Staff approachable but scarce and appeared understaffed but Sunday hrs applu

I like It because it is a mix of food hall and clothe. The clothe area is not particularly my type of clothe apart from men's coats and shirts. But I like the displays which lead us to the quadrant inside shopping mall area. But that's me liking to wonder around shops and walking. Food however always great at M&S and this one is exactly the same as others I have visited before across London.

Used for click and collect service, the customer service personnel lady was remarkably helpful but taking into account the number of orders they were handling, should have more help at hand. Attitude of some of the customers waiting for the service was downright rude, simply not acceptable. I admired the patience and calm approach of the lady serving the person with attitude issues.

Sourdough bread served astoast for over a year it appears customers complain and all u hear is staff . apologising when toasted the crust is too hard to cut easily with blunt supplied . Are M&S getting a special deal with the bread and now are not customer friendly anymore. And ignore customers and staff comments Please let me know why you insist on using this product? Mr P Green

Staffing in foodhall and manning of tills was really bad. Worse thing they ever did was taking away some of the tills. Only two manned tills opened and then they had problems with the scales at the tills and had to close the till down. A lot of disgruntled customers and to be honest the staff were not that happy either. Not the standard expected of M and S.

A bit disappointed didn't find anything to catch my eye this time, also now with all the dividers to separate the sections I find it very claustrophobic and don't enjoy going it, I'm sure I'm not the only person who finds the dividers very closed in! M and s go back to the way it was so you can see across the whole floor.. that was so much nicer!

Not impressed at all with tbe school uniform selection and the staff have zero understanding of hidden disabilities. Misleading information given causing a hour standing around in store while staff tried to convince me that their pull up trousers all were small ones for little children and that older kids dont need them .

Food-to-Order @ Christmas was In short - EXCELLENT. Organisation was excellent, service at point of collection was excellent. Small error at packing/payment which wasn't spotted until we got home. This was corrected by the team with no effort from myself. Simply exceeding all expectations. I honestly was so impressed

Food always great But the service is so bad only one cashier and the self service till always long queue not the M&S it used to be customers always come first now they couldn’t care less need more staff always long queue last time I was in the Romford store I left my basket and walked out as did two other people

Lady at the lingerie till was rude and unhelpful. She didnt seem interested in my questions about items I needed help with. Her customer service skills were shocking! I'm actually surprised that this kind of attitude from staff at Romford slips through the net like this. I'd sack her on the spot!

M & S busy, restaurant food good value pity not enough staff to clear and clean tables at peak times people standing with trays looking for clean tables to sit at! Some tables too close together especially when mums have pushcairs and young children making it impossible to access some tables.

Love M&S and have shopped here for 35 years. You can definitely see a change to the whole M&S shop but things do change and I accept this. Staff are always helpful but are run ragged multi tasking. Hope this shop stays in Romford as it wouldnt be the same without our M&S there.

Good Town Centre Store this in middle of Romford. Classy prices of course as attracts the more well heeled around where I live. Pleasant staff. Ideal for special presents and higher quality fare. Not quite 160% mark up like Harrods but getting on a bit that away. Good food.

They do jeans in my size 38 short 29 leg. Really great.. also visited the cafe and it's clean and welcoming space plenty of seating. Tried a strawberry frapp for the first time, tastes so good, although would be nice if a long spoon came with it to eat the cream.

Popped in with my girlfriend and purchased two different pairs of summer shorts, I found everything easy to find. We were made welcomed by Grace who was extremely polite, helpful and professional in every way. What a lovely experience we had shopping at M&S.

I was very surprised with the style of clothes thought it wasn't for me but checked it out anyway. I managed to find all my holiday clothes and it didn't brake the bank very good quality style and value. Will definitely be shopping at M&S more often

M&S don't have the sparkle they used to, sad to say. I was bought up on their products but now it is difficult to get my sizes. I like to go to a shop to see what I am buying & try things on. They just don' t make the styles & sizes any more. Shame!

never enough staff on the check outs whenever you go. also very few staff on clothes department to ask questions and when collecting an item you have purchased on line - long wait and not enough staff. staff have been cut to the minimum

A big shop with a variety of food, groceries and a whole section for clothes for men, women and children. Looks fancy with the dim lighting and luxurious design of shelves. The price are a bit more expensive than similar shops, though.

A small M&s cafe it's well stocked with sandwiches cakes. £££ expensive but you get quality product the staff were nice very polite i thought their coffee wasn't nice enough compared to costa but ofther than that a nice clean cafe.

Good range and quality of products but I have visited a few times and not once have I experienced a friendly service at the food court - to the point of receiving a sarcastic 'you're welcome, next!' as I thanked a member of staff.

Please inform customers before they shop that the car collection is not operating ,only we spent a £140 pounds this morning and seven heavy bags had to be carried to the car park by us all who are in our seventies thankyou

I did occasionally shop here l was impressed with their variety of fruit, veg but they are more expensive on the whole. If you need to ask a question it's quite hard finding an available member of staff to do so.

Nice store/grocer, visit regularly not sure why but my daughter love their chicken and sweetcorn sandwich .food looks very appealing and fresh. Clothes are also good quality. Like shopping for school bits here.

The manager here is an absolute jobsworth! Wouldn’t let me exchange a pair of pyjamas I got for Xmas because the receipt was a few days out of date. Will not be shopping at mns anymore! A total disgrace

My favourite shop still. Always has what I am looking for from school uniforms to pyjamas for my Mum to my weekly food shopping. I just wish it was open a little later and they restocked of an evening.

Its Marks just as expensive as usual food great you tend to eat all you buy no waste. Clothes are still a bit expensive they need to work on their pricing. But I like Marks feel comfortable in there!

Tried to buy a lemon muffin. It came up as a restricted item. Assistant couldn't put it through till. Really come on m and s why on earth are muffins restricted? What did it have in it? I'm over 25!

Marks & Spenser is my go to shop for most things clothing. Especially socks and pants etc, but I've also bought trousers, chinos, tee shirts, polo shirts and shorts during my time on this earth

We bought a blouse for my wife. She liked it so much we ordered a second one. The staff bent over backwards to help. It arrived within 24 hours. Thank you M & S for the quickness of delivery.

Good store with friendly staff. However I have been going more to the lakeside branch just for the bigger selection. I do like the food section which always has high quality food items.

They are always short of the fruit I want. You have to get in the store really early if you want mangos or pineapple..... they don't appear to restock the shelves on a regular basis.

This store seems to be living on borrowed time as there is the much larger one at nearby Westfields. I always buy my work suits at M&S but the selection at Romford is now very poor.

Great shop for food. Also does some fantastic price reductions in the sales (women's department). The outlay of the shop is bright and airy. The atmosphere is alert and cheery.

Store is 8/10 clean. Offers are not as good on food and drinks as Tesco or Aldi. The same-ish food and drink for 10% more. Clothes are good quality but quite expensive.

Lovely food Hall staff are helpful and friendly but only complaint is not enough staff on tills I prefer to pay for my purchases at a till with a cashier serving me.

Went here to make use of the air conditioning! M&S quality was good as usual. I still have no idea why they replaced the restaurant loyalty cards for Sparks cards.

I am a M&S fan of the sales prepared. Love their seasonal variety. Easy to get around and find what you need. Helpful staff. Foods in M&S are just the best to me.
