"First thing, lots of parking"
"Great assortment! Reasonable prices and good weekly specials"
"Wouldn’t let me buy a small about of grapes"
I love Marché Newon's incredible selection of fruits and vegetables. Plus they've got every kind of tofu, noodle, seaweed and spice you can imagine, as well as an impressive kitchen section and all the frozen dumplings. I'm rating them poorly, however, for two important reasons: One, the meat, which looks like it has been injected with dye/water to change its appearance. Two, the rice cooker they sold me that flat out did not work. I brought it back with the receipt and all of its parts, and was refused a refund. No matter that I am a regular customer who was sold a faulty product; I was told that "If you had wanted the one that had worked, you should have bought the more expensive one." Ummmm...! Wow.
Marché Newon was one of the places I used to go to when first opened. The grocery is big and has various types of goods and foods. Mostly, I buy veggies and fruits from there. Generally the veggies & the fruits are fresh and last longer. The prices are fair but some are pricey especially the tropical fruits but sometimes they have good offers. If you crave tropical fruits (mangosteen, dragon fruit, lychee, etc) or would like to try them then Marché Newon is the best place to go. They have a great variety of spices and teas. They have all kind of frozen meats and products and fresh meats too but I have never tried them there. The location is strategic and accessible. It is good to give it a try.
First thing, lots of parking. Right next to a dollarama. Inside this grocery store it is very clean, big, has fresh fruits in which can explain some of the high prices. They have a lot of asian ingredients, also vegetables, exotic fruits, as well as some halal sausages, corn arepas, some foods from Philippines. Some prices are a little higher compared to other asian stores I've ever went, but their products seem really fresh. But then again, many places spiked their prices because of covid...♀️ Hope this help you guys out ;)
Great assortment! Reasonable prices and good weekly specials. I will keep returning to try new things, it is so fun to be in a clean new supermarket full of items one does not usually see. Fruit, veg, noodles, drinks, fab prepared dishes - like the Korean pancakes I bought today in the frozen foods section (Daifuku brand) and dumplings - so many to choose from, some locally made and others imported.
Wouldn’t let me buy a small about of grapes. I had to buy the whole bag but I only wanted a handful. Rude and lousy service which is unusual for a grocery store the prices were high so I don’t get it. I can’t imagine why people would shop here unless it’s the only thing around the area. They do have a lot of unique international products so that much be the reason. Only one I can think of.
Korean/Japanese items are priced slightly lower than the Jang Teu and other neighbouring grocery stores. They also carry a vast variety of goodies and snacks and a good selection of Indian spices. Perfect for students living nearby and for people working in Downtown, you don’t need to go all the way to Chinatown anymore for Asian groceries.
the chinese man in the butcher area will not cut the meat for you and the service attitude is very bad. he once charged me the price of pork from $4.8/kg to $48 due to negligence . You should pay attention to the price. A pack of tamarind powder costs 1.99$ while another market is 79¢. Many other similar expensive items. …
This Asian grocery store is located in the heart of Sainte Catherine Street, Montreal. Very convenient for people who love more varieties of vegetables, fruits, meats, Indian spices, snacks, etc. SAQ and Jean Cotu are also located just near to it. I find more convenient coz it's easily accessible through public transportation.
My favorite place to find Asian products in Montréal. They have a lot of varieties and the price is really good. Mjst visit for someone who wanna experience the Chinese vibe. They have almost all Chinese groceries, they can speak Mandarin, they have Chinese staffs and they even play Chinese song! Love it!
Good price, lots of selection. The market is nice and clean, very good lighting. You can find from Chinese, Korean, Japanese to Vietnamese food and things that you need. Can’t wait for their fish selection open. They have the Pokemon drink, the cans look amazing but I’m not try them yet.
The new store just opened recently, there are many special promotions, there are also a lot of fresh tropical fruits and all kinds of vegetables from local farms, shopping experience is very good, is the first choice of daily grocery shopping in downtown Montréal!!!
BEWARE! They put the rotten part of the corn at the bottom, non visible part. same practice for other vegetables, they put the un fresh/rotten part invisible to the customers! This is very dishonest! Prices are not cheap anyway. Buyers stay away!!!
Asian goods all around. Most are either Chinese/Korean food items. But you can still find your odd Filipino / Indian / Japanese items. Just don't expect much options on that end. However, it has definitely more options on the cuts of meat
I bought a box of wonton noodle. It’s moldy and stinky. But it is supposed to be best before March 16 according to the date on the package. I also bought an eggplant. From the front view, it looked fine. But when I came back home, I found
A big asian grocery downtown easily accessible by subway and that is located in a small gallery. The variety of products is good and you can find everything from fruits, vegetables, meat, seafood to snacks and drinks. They mostly offer
Not always he cheapest option in the area, but the selection is family wide, I'd still rather shop at the smaller asian shops when they have what I need, but sometimes this place is the only one with the variety.
The best Chinese grocery store in Montreal. You could practically find anything in it if you like Asian traditional cuisine. They also have some good on sale vegetables. And they were always at a very good price.
Nice asian market. Lots of products you don't find elsewhere (Chinese broccoli, burdock root, soursop fruit, etc.). Great prices and mostly fresh produce. Huge selection of frozen foods.
Nice selection of Asian groceries, found stuff here I haven't found anywhere else. Prices are alright, not high or low. Better deals can be found elsewhere, but not as much selection.
The price is pretty good and u can find cheap ingredients here. Big Asian grocery and many selections. Some vegetables doesn’t look fresh, might been sitting here for a while.
Great store, but seems to have recently made the decision to understaff cashiers. The last half dozen times I've been here I've had to wait 10-15 minutes at checkout.
I bought some black seseme seeds at a wonderful price point. Black seseme seeds are high in calcium, I don't eat dairy! Kind staff...clean and convenient location.
You seriously can’t beat the produce prices here. Just make sure you check it for any bad spots. Worth the extra work in my opinion, though. Service is ok.
BEWARE: Check the reviews before you decide to shop here. 0/5 stars if I could. CLEAR lack of quality control, hygiene and food safety measures, and
Crazy good variety. Prices are high like all groceries these days. If you are looking for an oriental food fix. This is a great place to start.
A well stocked Asian grocery store with all the necessities. Reasonably priced meat and groceries. Run by a very friendly and helpful staff.
Good asian supply selection, spacious, clean and not crowded, but not a lot of Filipino produce. The meats and seafood are priced well.
Has good options for fresh products. Very well located, not so clean but works unless you want to stay in store for longer.
Great store. Great staff. Crazy good selection. They have very expensive high quality fruits that you can't find anywhere.
Fresh veggies and fruits. Meats are good quality. Only place to buy real Japanese rice. Huge variety of products.
