The company promised to book travel via Turkish Airlines assuring the inclusion of baggage fees for the round trip. On our return, the airline told us we had been removed from the Maranatha Tour and were booked outside of the tour by Maranatha. This occurred for three separate parties. We contacted Maranatha from TelAviv and subsequently repeatedly requested a refund of the excess unanticipated baggage fees. Maranatha made the error in booking with the airline and refused to refund us the extra fees in violation of their expressed contract with us. They were wholly unsupportive, telling us to take it up with the airline and to "have a blessed day". The bags were underweight as when departing the US and yet we were forced to pay extra fees without compensation from Maranatha. The agenda for the trip was excellent but the tour guide, especially in Israel, while very likable and knowledgeable, lacked interest or knowledge of biblical references providing sort of "new age" lectures at key sites. The tour therefore lacked Biblical depth. In addition, anti-Catholic slurs were made on more than one occasion. Fortunately, a very kind and knowledgeable Baptist pastor in our group would help us informally. Disappointed with our “once in a lifetime” trip, I would recommend careful shopping of Holy Land tours and rule out Maranatha.

Using a tour company you would expect the details taken care of so you can just enjoy your tour. This company DOES NOT do that. First the flight on Turkish Air had four segments, of those parts my husband and I were apart and spread far apart on the flights. We talk to the agent and were told to talk to the gate agent. So had to beg for a change on the out going. We were put in the back of the plane but got a change. The return trip was the same only we were told since this was a group block there was no change. We were not even close to anyone in our group. Second the hotels. We paid for our bags to be picked up and taken to our rooms but the service was not available even though it is even on the tip list. We would gladly handle our own bags but we paid for the service. The Ambassador Hotel ran out of coffee often, forgot to have our tables reserved twice, and locked us out of our room. They double charged for the laundry service. Third the main guide we were given, English was his third language. He kept asking how do you say this and when asked questions he answered I don't know. We were assigned two other guides for travel in Palestine who were excellant. Think twice before choosing this company to handle the details for you.

Maranatha Tours far exceeded my expectations. My husband, and I consider this our best trip of all our trips ever taken. The hotels in Tiberias, and Jerusalem were very good!! The food in Tiberias was excellent. Our host, Mr. Tim Kroll was outstanding. Our tour guide, Foteh Mickel was most knowledgeable. He made our trip really awesome. We know that God has placed Foteh in our pilgrims journey to Israel. My husband and I would highly recommend Maranatha Tours to all. In fact, our pastor has informed us that he is planing for our church to visit Israel. My husband, Harvey Flores has already given our pastor the information for Maranatha Tours to our pastor. One million thank you to Maranatha Tours, Foteh Mickel, and Tim Kroll. You have been in our prayers regularly since the moment we arrived home to Delaware. We love you and your ministry. From planning to execution Maranatha did a wonderful job. Airline schedules, hotels, guides, drivers, destinations; all were excellent. One of our tour members had a health problem and between Maranatha and Near East Tours the person had quick and capable medical treatment and was able to join the tour after missing only a day. All of this was coordinated without interrupting the flow of the tour itself. I have made many trips to the Lands of the Bible over the years but this was by far the best experience I've had as a tour leader.

Awesome experience. Our tour guide Foteh was excellent. He was very knowledgeable, passionate, helpful, fun and a great teacher. I learned so much, he eased our way to so many places. Mohammed our bus driver was great boy could he get anywhere he needed to in that bus. Our Our accommodations were very good. Meals were good. Air travel with Turkish Airlines was excellent. I cannot say enough good things about this trip. Cherished memories of a lifetime , made many new friends. I highly recommend Maranatha Tours to anyone traveling.

The trip was well organized and the guide was FANTASTIC!! As with all tour trips, you're up early in the morning and don't come back until late at night. If you don't have the stamina for walking all day and coming back at night, this may not be the trip for you. But otherwise, it is definitely something that EVERYONE should see. If Jesus hasn't come back in 5 years, I'll go again. I just hope Jim Gilley and his wife are still hosting the trip. Kudos to Greg from Maranatha.

Life changing trip. Tour guide Sam was anointed. The only reason I did not give 5 stars was connecting flight on Istanbul. Worst experience going and coming. BOOK YOUR OWN FLIGHT TO TEL AVIV NOT STOP IF POSSIBLE. Istanbul is hostile to Americans and they do not mind demonstrating that. No help from ground staff or any employeed. Avoid Turkish Airlines if possible. Horrific.

I just returned from Israel and all the major points of interest. Maranatha did an excellent job of scheduling every detail of my trip. Nothing went wrong. Hotels were.100% correct guided tours were correct. I couldn't ask for a better experience. And our guide, Doron Berkenstien was excellent..5 stars all the way.

Unfortunately I felt that most of the hotels were basically unacceptable considering the price of the tour. The hotel food was also pretty bad, except for the pasta courses. They were delicious. However our guide, Daniel, was fantastic. Also most of the places we visited were incredible, especially Lake Maggiore.

I went on a Maranatha 8-Day Holy Land Tour and it was a life changing experience!!! I loved it so much that I am planning to go back next year. Every thing is planned for you, they send you sooo much information to help you to prepare for your trip. If you haven’t used Maranatha, it’s a must!!!

I will say they did good with the first trip we did with them so we booked another and ended up loosing a lot of money. If you book a trip with them I recommend getting insurance outside of their insurance. It’s terrible to pay for a service and not receive the service.

Saw some great sights, and made me consider more thoughtfully the work our Saviour and apostles went through in spreading the word. Low rating: "if you can't say anything good about the guide, then don't say anything at all".

One of our group members was taken to a shop where they were sold a necklace for $5000 that has been apraised for less than half. The tour guide build up this place and told us they were trustworthy..

Totally amazing. The only reason 4 stars instead of 5 is because the food given on the tour we went on (to Italy- known for their great food) was pretty bad. Other than this everything was perfect!

What is the most Christian way I can say this? Due to the incompetence of the staff our friends are going to Israel while we are not. No thanks to you, the trip of a lifetime never happened.

Excellent guide. Well planned out. Schedule was pretty intense each day, 8-5. It was pretty exhausting for most of us.
