I have been aware of the brand and company for many years but the ads are way too political for me so I was not interested in learning about them and what they offer. The weekend right before the covid shutdown in March 2020, I was forced to move out of a one bedroom apartment in Fort George. I had given the landlord a full month's notice that I was leaving end of March but the a-hole handyman of the building was threatening me and I didn't want any problems. I had signed a lease for a small studio apartment and I was just so overwhelmed with the combination of not knowing what to leave behind and the a-hole handyman barking threats at me and the guy helping me move stuff out. I rented the 10ft truck from U-Haul Riverdale and got the idea last minute to rent a storage unit there. I'm grateful for having that emergency option but that's only thing I can recommend for emergency. Six months later and I just can't keep letting them give me headaches. Everytime I went always some sort of problem. The worst part is no air conditioning in the storage building so it was torture everytime. Drink plenty of liquids or can pass out. Anyways, I had enough I needed to end things with U-Haul. I started searching for storage facilities in Manhattan. I knew it was going to be more expensive given that it's Manhattan and not the Bronx given the rent cost and less space. I did Google search and Manhattan Mini Storage has a surprising amount of locations. I read reviews and things looked good. I made calls over several days and the staff seems very nice and knowledgeable. Frank Sinanaj made me a believer. His excellent customer service made me feel that the living nightmares I had for six months with U-Haul Riverdale was not an industry standard. Frank Sinanaj practically gave me a nice introduction to the family owned company and how they pride themselves on having and keeping their customers happy. I mentioned to Frank Sinanaj that the ads are way too political which may be a huge turn-off for people like me that avoid overly political/religious situations. I suggested for him to mention during a staff meeting that it may benefit them and potential customers like me to balance things out and also put out objective ads so that people are aware of all the great benefits that come with renting a storage unit at one of their facilities, and plus that we are supporting a family business that has happy employees and customers. Some benefits not all: their facilities are air conditioned!!! Another amazing benefit is they have a free shuttle that will pick you up anywhere in Manhattan to take you to the storage facility or vice versa!!! They also have free two hour parking. They also 24 hour access to the storage units. They will receive your packages that are delivered by DHL, FedEx, and UPS as long as the package is less than 100lbs. They accept business accounts as long as the appropriate forms are provided to them. You can authorize other people to have access to the storage unit. General Manager Carlos is truly an angel on Earth. Possibly the nicest person I have ever met. Assistant Manager Joshua has been the in-person magic maker. Frank Sinanaj had suggested for me to look at three different sizes. Joshua very nice and calmly showed me all three units. He was very patient with me. He did not rush me. Frank Sinanaj answered all emails I sent with questions pretty quickly. I reserved a room and am just waiting for my family friend guy to be available so I can finally ditch U-Haul Riverdale for good and continue to be happy with Manhattan Mini Storage. I took some pictures. I am missing one of the shuttle van but I hope this lets me upload it when I use it the first time. New York City, the city that never sleeps. Full of life and possibilities. Unfortunately, sometimes these possibilities require you to have access to a safe and reliable facility to store your belongings. Manhattan Mini Storage on 29th is most definitely not that facility. Certainly, there are out of control happening all around us. Nevertheless a facility that promotes safety and reliability has been a total hazard for me. A place that supposed to be by their own admission "Storage and Social Responsibility, Brand Promises" has achieved a total dissolution to their words in my eyes. This complete incompetence to a basic maintenance to give you peace of mind has lead to a complete destruction of my belongings. Social responsibility has been broken on me as it seems an experiment. Squandered promise by the brand that inspired confidence, now turned to dust and complete disappointment. A plea to communication and try to regain some of my belongings at least in its value has only turned to a dismay and complete ignorance. My only response is this pursue of recognition of the to show that this storage facility has became place of nightmarish destruction.

I brought no one with me to move my stuff into the storage, so I was really worried before I got to the storage. When I arrived, one of the staff members in Manhattan Mini Storage named Luis helped me from signing the lease to putting my boxes into the storage unit. He helped me move my stuff from the parking lot and carried the cart for me. He checked on me even on small things such as how I would want to stack my stuff in the unit, how to get to the unit and how I would lock&unlock the unit. I’m not saying that everyone should expect this much service; I was lucky enough to make a reservation & check in when there weren’t that may customers, and I also had no one accompanying me. However, Luis’s kind service and the way he communicated with flexibility really made my day! Also recommend this place because you can visit the High Line after these moving work. There is less traffic around this area. Some of the other locations have a huge rush hour due to the highways connecting New Jersey which this location does not have as much as the other storages. 100/100!

This afternoon, two colleagues of mine and I visited Manhattan Mini Storage on West 29th Street on behalf of an elderly client of ours who just entered hospice care. The situation was somewhat complicated, and the staff at the front desk had to ensure that strict proper protocol was followed during our visit, which included a call with our client at the hospital. They could not have been more professional with us or with regard to our client's security, and what struck us even more was the gentle clarity and genuine kindness with which they spoke with our client over the phone and their decision to take major extra steps with us to make sure everything went smoothly (all of this at the end of the afternoon on a Friday). They saved the day regarding an urgent and important practical matter of his and treated everyone with dignity through the whole process. We spoke together afterwards of how rare it is to experience such by-the-letter security joined with real humanity in situations like this, and we wish we could send a rating beyond five stars.

Let me start by saying I’m a very important sculptor distributing powerful messages to the people, and using the finest garbage from New York City streets as the medium to convey those messages. My work was at a local high end art fair and strangely, i was misunderstood by the patrons. Not as many of my world-famous works were purchased, and I needed to find a place to store them ASAP. What would’ve taken 2 1/2 hours at my last storage place, MMS did in 12 minutes. Franz showed me a number of amazing units and quoted prices like a catalog. I just then got a call from the gallery owner telling me I need to rush back and sweet talk a patron. Franz instilled such a sense of trust, that I just left my ID and credit card and told him I’ll come back after the big sale. I came back in a half hour all the contracts were ready. Franz could see I was weeping, because I had lost the sale, but he informed me about my new wonderful storage unit. The best.

I had the worst experience!!! I initially chose Manhattan mini storage as they are supposed to be one of the best. When moving in, they called to confirm and I said I will be there and when I reached that specific location was closed: they failed to mention that they close at 8. Then we had to find an alternative. Luckily, a nearby branch was able to accommodate us. They did not explain anything and made me sign a lease. During, they made sure to charge me late payment fees although I made sure to ask if I had to pay anything or if anything is required from me. For the move out, I called to ask if I stayed a day extra into the additional month how much would they charge me and they said it would be prorated. While checking out, they charged me 15% of the rental fee instead. When I called to complain, the manager told me “you are just upset because you want something and we are not giving it to you.” And they were rude on top of everything.

Great storage option. Open 24 hours. Will come and pick you up and help you transport items into and out of the truck. 10 floors of storage vaults plus a basement. Some of the units even have electricity for cold storage options. Can choose between a floor level unit, middle level (requires a short ladder) or high level (requires a tall ladder). Best pricing options are in the winter due to lower demand. Must bring your own lock or you’ll have to buy one from them at a premium. Front desk attendant Kerwin was extremely helpful and patient in showing us options, making recommendations, and informing us of the rules. Some storage units are newer than others but all generally the same. Must buy insurance at $15 a month unless your renters/home insurance covers off premises items. So good idea to look into that before hand. Always running promotions so you can get a discount in first term which is usually 6 months to start. Highly recommend.

So I don’t know where to start. The staffing has been on point ever since I moved my stuff into the facility 7 years ago. They always treat me as family. Andrew, Luis, Bobby has been my top favorites. Andrew? I’ve known him since he was at Spring St facility. I used to have my stuff over there before moving to the facility at the Hudson Yards which I also love that area, and I wanna thank you having them. I can’t say anything bad about the staffers they always be there when I needed help. They’re helpful, friendly, amazing, staffers. Let’s just say that they’re the best on what they do. Plus. Andrew always been on top of his work. I’ve been trying to find my bike lock, and he found it in the bathroom and held it for me. Manhattan Mini Storage is glad to had the best worker like Andrew. I wanna thank him and thanks the staff for making this place amazing.

Horrible facility. I see from other reviews that the management has changed. You can tell. I use to store here years ago and loved it, due to moving out of the area, I closed my unit. Upon returning to the area early this year, I was told my price and signed a lease in agreement. 3 Months into my lease my bill increased by almost 40%. I called about this and was told a manager would reach out to me. I called again and left a vm as I still haven't heard back. I am closing out my unit as the customer service is horrible and the unit over priced. Such a horrible turn around for Manhattan Mini Storage, I am highly disappointed.

I had the best experience at Manhattan Mini Storage! Everyone was so kind and helpful, especially Abe and Frantz!! Frantz was my go to the entire time I rented, anything I needed he was there and helpful. This facility is clean, well priced, has 24 hour access, clean restrooms for those times you’re stuck there too long cleaning your unit, plenty of dollys and carts to assist you in moving your things, and the best employees working there to help you along the way. 10/10 I would absolutely recommend this storage facility to everyone I know. New management is awful. I've had units in this building for 5 years. Recently they changed ownership. My units have all gone up 20% in cost. When asking the staff about the major rent hike I was told 'I get about 10 calls a day about this. Thats just how it is and there is nothing we can do to help you' They have cut hours and taken away several amenities. I was charged insurance fees for 6 months even though I had a coi on file with the previous management. They refunded me for 1 month for the error. I'd recommend finding another facility.

Andrew H. and Robert G. were engaging, attentive, and very informative. They were very helpful, patient, listened actively and both had the knowledge to answer all my storage and move-in questions about the suitable storage unit for me, which made everything else easy. I decided I finally needed to rent a storage unit for a few odds and ends. Found a really great deal online for the Manhattan Mini Storage near Hudson Yards, and the whole process was very smooth. Secured the unit online, and went to get checked in and sign the lease, which Louis made a quick and simple affair. He took the time to show me around and made sure I had everything I needed, which I really appreciated. Bonus: They have locks available for purchase, which is convenient.

Such a great team of people who work here. Forgive me for not remembering names. The manager (bald head) & even this lovely Caribbean gentleman are always super. I’ve worked with Alice who was so patient & really helpful. She made a unit move & transition really easy for me. If it wasn’t for her I would’ve left Manhattan Mini storage. Ultimately, the kindness & professionalism of this team is why the biz relationship w/ Manhattan mini storage has continued.

Yep, another out-of-state college student needing to store their stuff for the summer! Reserved the unit online, and then Luis helped us on move-in day in the spring and then again on move-out day in the fall. Keeps the place running great! I do wish they had a couple more parking spots, but overall it's an easy storage facility to use. From 9th or 10th Ave, head west on 29th St, and it's on your right. Just be patient as it can get busy at times.

I really miss previous owners of this business. New owners are very cheap and not customer friendly.Shuttle service is no longer available, They build storage units everywhere in building you can’t even move in - move out! , Recently They raised prices up to 30% ( Please check your storage bills ). I’m really planning to move out. I strongly recommend to look alternative storages instead of Manhattan Mini storage ( 541 W 29th street )

Disappointed by Ministorage trying to scam me at check-out. +I was expressly told when i leased that there was a 5 day grace period at the beginning of each month which i would not be charged for +At check out, attendant tells me there is actually no grace period but a pro rata charge. the charge he gives me is much higher than the actual pro rata would be. He then says it is actually called a holdover fee Unprofessional

I have been a customer for years, but went in today to #1980, at 541 West 29th Street. Purpose was to transfer to a larger unit. There I met Luis who manages the facility. He made everything super easy. He explained the process in clear detail, and personally walked me to my new unit. He was pleasant and very helpful. I was in and out in no time. Highly recommend and ask for Luis.

First time renting a storage unit to store my stuffs over summer. Great service at this place! The staffs were super friendly and patience. Linette helped me reserve my unit on the phone. Luis at the reception assisted me to check in and showed me the way to access my unit step by step. There were trolleys and ladders you can use to move your boxes. Would definitely recommend!!

Really outstanding customer service at this location! Had a box break mid-move and the friendly staff provided a bag and helped transfer the contents to it. They went above the call of duty! Love this location! Tons of parking, easy for folks in jersey to access and right near Hudson yards. The folks at the desk are always super helpful. Andrew helped me get setup with a second unit and the process super easy. Once you get a unit there, everyone working there make an effort to get to know you and are all super friendly.

Manhattan Mini Storage is very near and dear to my heart. The customer service and pricing is very competitive and I have been a happy and loyal customer for over 20 years. Nicest guys working here. I have 3 locks on my locker and lost the key to 1 of them. Given how many idiots they must deal with on a daily basis with this same issue, Andrew and his team made me feel like it was no big hassle, quickly cut my lock, and put a new one on. If everything in the city can be this seamless!

I’ve been with Manhattan Mini for 3-4 years now. Booked a 5x11x8 online for a cheaper price, but for some reason it booked at a higher price.
