With the buyout from StorageMart, the storage shuttle has ended. Which was our #1, and ONLY reason for choosing Manhattan Mini Storage in the first place. Literally, the need to pick up or drop off our items is not sustainable by using ride share services or hiring moving companies or trying to carry them by hand. We were able to use the Free Shuttle to get our things in, and now (Bait & Switch) we are unable to utilize the same type of service to pick up or drop off any items. Additionally the customer service seems absolutely terrible since the buyout. Everyone was so wonderful and helpful before and that's gone now. We are likely moving to Boxie24, a full service company with competitive pricing, that hopefully won't pull something like this on their loyal customers. It's a shame that this happened, and there's zero fix offered by the company, let alone any communication this would be happening. I buy TShirts from a wholesale website, and when they were being bought out, there were MONTHS of emails confirming the switch ahead of time with any changes. With the StorageMart buyout you just get to try and log in one day and you're unable to, and everyone you talk to could care less. Terrible handling all around. For shame. EDITED TO ADD: The canned generic response to this and other reviews just shows the level of customer service between Storage Mart and the personalized service we received from Manhattan Mini Storage. This is not the same company anymore, and the decisions they make are only to service those at the top. The integrity seems to be gone.

I rented a space on line at a given price. I made the date the following day. I went in to secure the space on the following day and was told it was there and they put off the lease date from that day to two days later when I had movers. So I did not visit the space, the day I reserved and I did not personally visit the space the day I visited in advance of the move in date. When I arrived to move in, the "agreed upon space" was not available. I was told that "on line reservations" has no idea what is actually available at each site. Further I was told the employee who assisted me on my visit two days before was wrong about what was available. The new space is $100 over budget and I was there with the movers unable to negotiate despite multiple attempts to rectify. I accepted it because I had the movers on the doorstep with my stuff. At this price, it would've been better to have gone to another facility. I gave the employee that assisted me on the move-in date with multiple opportunities to rectify this; he did not. He further said that a manager above him couldn't help because they have no idea what is actually available at each site. I had a good experience with them before but this experience was not acceptable. After I posted this (about ten minutes after) the manager called and gave me the previously agreed upon rate!! We discussed many aspects of the event and he apologized and agreed to speak to all involved. I am pleased and I told him so.

Up until the change of owner/managers STORAGE MART is parent company? (not sure which) MMS was an extended family-they cared about us & when something went wrong always accommodated our needs. There was no such thing as fees for insurance under Manhattan Mini Storage but since Storage Mart took over they did so, started it without my permission (Customers were forced to accept this if we were renters)which is excessive as nothing in my storage is valuable. I contest, fought with no change & worst of all STORAGE MART don't advise in writing,text or phone call when they increase rent-it's automatically deducted payments from customer banks to them! Now, I find that a highly disturbing trend. Hardship post covid made it hard enough but to raise it from 16 to a now whopping 53 per month in less than 16 months is abusive policy. I plan to leave Storage Mart now using MMS good name & earned reputation (5) units due to the careless attitude where we are not valued as these people have towards their loyal customers (10 yrs so far). Storage Mart (MMS) offer no more deals or rewards, nothing. Just another profit before people company. I can only imagine the people who still work there how Storage Mart must treat them if we are so replaceable.

I have been a current customer at the E 110th street facility in Manhattan. I have been storing my belongings for 15 plus years, and have multiple units currently. Since I have many items of diffrent shapes and sizes. I treat the facility like a second home. The building is run efficiently, starting at the top with the store manager (Chris) along with his customer sevice /sales team which inlucdes Troy, Jessica, Mark, CJ, and Juan. The staff is well trained, and are very professional when it comes to providing you with a space to meet your needs. If you have alot of belongings they do there best to find a unit to accomodate everything you need to store. Short or long term. Facility is immaculate, maintained at a high standard. Rental units, hallways, and entore facility is in great shape. Loading dock makes managing my Buisiness a breeze. Long access hours, and package acceptance help my business run smoothly. Could not have asked for anything more. If I could have added 10 stars I would have. I have also been to other facilities throughout my years including 62nd street, as well as 43rd street, as a former Pharma rep, every facility I have been to has been to the same standard. Highly recommend.

I have tried communicating with this business to no avail. I have been told a “manager” will call me and hasn’t. On January 2, 2023 I attempted to make a payment on my storage room unit. I visited the online website and I was unable to make the payment. The payment website was unavailable at the time. On January 3. 2023 I called Storage Mart to make the payment via phone but the automated system was also not available. I proceded to speak with a representative and make a full payment on my account. I was charged a $15.00 “convenience fee” for paying via phone. (1) I was not informed of the fee nor did I agree to paying it. The customer representative never informed me that a fee was being charged and I was only informed of it after I asked and the transaction had already “been processed”. These calls are recorded and I was informed of the recording so there is evidence of the lack of communication from the representative. (2) I was given no other choice than use the customer service representative given that the website and automated phone services were not working. I believe that these tactics are geared towards financially exploiting customers by making us pay excessive fees without recourse.

They are now Storage-Mart. Buyer Beware: Unexplained Price Increases. They get you with an introductory rate and then once you're there, they start giving you these increases. I joined late December 2022 and by March 2023 (3 months later), I get a notice stating that my 4th month will be increased. I called them and was told that the lease says they have the right to increase it at any time, but that typically it is after 4 months. Then after 11 months they will increase again. It does not make sense when we are not getting anymore space out of it. Storage Mart executives know how hard it is for people to spend time, money and muscle to move their items out and that most won’t want to do that, so they go along with the price increases. This is NOT right, and no business should be allowed to take advantage of people like this. There are currently NO state laws capping these rate increases, so storage facilities can raise their rents however much they want. At the very least a customer should be able to lock in a fixed rate for a minimum of a year, and not have surprise rate increases after a mere 4-months.

FIRST THE BAD NEWS: I've been their tenant for about 10 years or more but have now been almost priced out by their greed; for example, in 2016 when inflation was negative, they hit me with an 8.82% increase! Other increases were also well in excess of local inflation. And while charging more, their amenities have been reduced: No more van; seats removed from the office; a monthly parking lot nearby is now encroaching on the dozen or so free spots meant for movers. And when I recently downsized to a mid-level closet, I slashed my left arm making a normal lifting motion, on a razor-sharp door corner. Ashley gave me a bandage and sent a photo of the bloodshed to the main office, which did...nothing. AND THE GOOD NEWS, TO BE FAIR: The Harlem store is well-located, clean, secure, and easy to use. Short term parking is convenient.

On May 30th, I rented a storage unit with Manhattan Mini Storage on E110th St. On June 6th, I returned to find my lock changed, someone else's belongings in my unit and all my belongings gone. I was told by the staff that there was a mistake in identity and my belongings were thrown away (beautiful clothing that I had handmade in India, Vintage dresses I bought in France, a Mac computer, so many valuable items). They were able to retrieve a few things from the trash and a room where some very specific items were stored (I imagine set aside for someone) as they also shared that some of the staff had taken some of my personal items. I am currently waiting on claims to see if they will reimburse me for my loss. I would not recommend anyone using Manhattan Mini Storage to safeguard your belongings.

I love this place. Always clean the staff is friendly. I share a unit. They provide you with access for two people to use the unit. But you can put up to four people. They provide you with one free storge rack for your unit and you can pay for additional. They have dollies available to help you move your belongings. Two large elevators and free parking for customers. Clean bathrooms and most importantly 24hr access to your stuff. You can pay your bill at the facility or you can pay online. I had used other storage facilities in the past, I never will again. Manhattan Mini is the only one for me!

Stacy assisted with my questions regarding storage units, and I was so very pleased and appreciative of how patient and helpful she was with my confusing questions, and my lack of pertinent information that would have helped us both. I found her to be an excellent agent who is able to deal with unprepared seniors, or any difficult persons who might get her on the line. I say this, because in retrospect, I asked a lot of confusing and difficult questions. Please consider her exceptional professional skills for her next review, which I hope will garner her a good increase and a great promotion.

I have to say this is the best storage experience I've ever had! The facility is clean and organized, access is simple and straightforward, and the staff is amazing. Troy, the assistant manager, was so helpful and professional getting us set up and was able to expertly navigate handling multiple customers at once as we came in at a busy time. We also dealt with Ashley when we first came to look at units and she was SO kind and courteous and just all around phenomenal customer service. The reason i gave them 3 stars is Because i go deep wood camping 4 times a year and i cannot keep that type of equipment in my home so this week when i walked inside the storage facility to pay my monthly dues i see a memo saying this labor day the office will be close and storage facility so now i have to bring all my equipment home on labor day thats when I come back from my trip cause I have to go back to work that Tuesday thats unacceptable 110th st mini storage now you making me look elsewhere for another storage facility

Went there today to try and look at their available storage rooms in person in order to determine which unit to choose however the woman at the front desk had an attitude and seemed bothered by my questions and simply stated " you must reserve online otherwise I cannot show you anything". I politely explained again that I was new to this and needed to visually inspect the size of the rooms however her attitude did not change and therefore I left.

I had a great experience here!. Lucky to have had a very helpful and eager to assist sales manager (Brianna) Parking is limited though and not quite aligned with all loading docks and there's two huge elevators, extremely convenient!!. Upon renting the room. We were offered water and even given a refund on boxes and tape that we purchased from another location!. It saved us time and the inconvenience of an extra trip. Girl you rock!

I've worked with multiple people who've had issues with this place, and it always comes down to the same thing--they don't want to be compliant with NYC storage tenant laws and they play fast and loose with dates. Expect your stuff to be auctioned off at any time, on any date, whether you've paid up for the month or not. And then expect them to act confused when you try to explain it to them.

I love this place! They're open 24hrs a day. They have free coffee or tea for their clients, CLEAN BATHROOMS, and they even have snack machines. I rented for over a year there. The storage taxi is an excellent touch that other storage facilities don't offer. I had a wonderful experience with them and will always recommend them, and use them when I am in need of storage services.

The staff helped me get setup in a new storage unit quickly, and gave me all of the information in a clear, concise manner. I got a great deal with the first two months 50% off! I really like the cleanliness and security of the facility, and that there are large windows around the perimeter, so you don't feel like you're in a dark, confined space.

I just vacted my second storage unit at this location and feel like I just left home. The customer service with everyone that I've met here has been better than my experiences at high end resorts. The manger, Marlon has treated me like family every time he helped me getting the unit and while vacating. I wish they rented apartments!

Since the changeover to a new entity prior to original ownership of this facility, customer complaints have risen as well as vacancies. The new policies put in place only burden those who have tried to readjust to payment deadlines which drastically changed payment options for customers.

I like my storage unit, but very disappointed that I get locked out the 2nd day of I can't pay my bill on the 1st of the month. I don't think it's a good idea to be locked out. I think only late fee should be charged after one week and lock out should occur before next month comes in.

Facility was good until they switched over to Storage Mart. Now they took away the Taxi and all the employees have an attitude. ESPECIALLY Ashley who was working Feb 17th at around 5:30pm! She has a VERY nasty attitude and barely let me speak, and kept speaking over me. HORRIBLE!!!!
