The night before my brother's wedding, my Indian family, and the bride's Bangladeshi family came into Indianapolis at various times, with varying dietary preferences, and we were all very hungry. Seeing Ethiopian close to the airport, I called the restaurant and asked if 4 to 11 people (I know, quite a spread in the numbers) could be accommodated in less than an hour. Thankfully they said yes. When we arrived, with 8 people, despite being kind of in the middle of a dead zone, the restaurant itself was an oasis: the decor was homey, eclectic, and friendly, and immediately we were greeted by the very warm and charming server, Sabrina. She helped us decide on what to order and was such a delight to deal with in every way. She even kept it light, funny, and good humored even when my mom and aunt kept commenting on her beauty, while I felt a little anxious about it! We ordered lots of sambussa, of practically every kind, a vegetarian platter, a chicken platter, and tea service. I live in New York City, where, we believe, we have some of the best, if not the best, of every type of imaginable cuisine. Yet the Ethiopian food here was tastier than any of my favorite spots in NYC. We all ate so much, everyone remarking on how they ate way more than they realized they were hungry for. Meanwhile, Sabrina, our server, was attentive and generous with her time, and even brought us some honey wine to try, to complement our special wines we had brought for the wedding as well. ($20 corkage fee here, which is reasonable). The tea service at the end was elegant and tasty, and we asked for milk with ours because, hey, that's what Indians/Bangladeshis do, and our server was very happy to oblige. Even with eating so much, we still had delicious leftovers to take with us as well which Sabrina packed for us with extra bread (injera). She even gave us a tour of the fun bar in the back which will open soon as well. While the food and atmosphere were 10/10, somehow our server made the experience exponentially better. I generally don't look forward to coming back to Indiana, but this place alone has helped tip the scales back in my home state's favor. We also met the owner and head chef who deserves tremendous praise in every aspect for the 10+ years he's been operating. I can't imagine another dining experience that could so well keep us hyped for the next day, satiate us and relax us after our travels, and offer something for everyone to love, and then some! Now I get to be that annoying person in NYC who will tell people when Ethiopian cuisine comes up, "Oh, you like _______? Yeah, it's pretty good, but the best I've had is actually kinda in the middle of nowhere in Indiana!" Thank you to Major, the owner, and Sabrina for a truly spectacular night, and meal! I will (hopefully) be back soon!

One of the best meals out that I can remember. This place is a small mom and pop business. They are very friendly. My wife and I arrived late lunch and we were the only ones there. The only negative I can say is that "The Major" needs a location change. It is not easy to see plus it is hard to get to. We started with lentil sambussas. These are like little lentil pies in a phyllo like pastry. They came with a couple of chutney type of sauces. I ordered a vegetable dish while my wife ordered a chicken dish. They arrived on platters with a bread base and the food on top. The bread is similar to a pancake/crepe. You eat the food by tearing a piece of the bread a picking up the food. One person's review didn't like this, but I'm the type to use chopsticks while eating Chinese food so this did not offend me. It is something to experience. If you want American utensils -- eat American food. Flavor, aroma, texture, and presentation are perfect. An abundance of food was provided at very reasonable prices (I spent the same amount the night before at Jimmy John's). One other review was concerned about speed of service. I don't think this is because of poor service but because of the style of food. Everything is made fresh with no frozen foods. This is truly home-cooked food. I did not find the service to be slow for what I got. They were very attentive and pleasant. I spoke with the proprietor about his location. I told him I only found his place because I asked Google to suggest some place good to eat. I am positive he could have one of the most popular restaurants in Indy if he only had a better location. He is stuck in a lease right now. I hope he can expand. Please do not be put off because of the location. This place is clean, warm, comfortable, and inviting. The food is delicious. I have a new favorite place to eat.
I went in at 11:02 (they open at 11) and the place smelled amazing. It was very clean, well-designed, and the artwork on the walls was interesting and tasteful. You can tell that this is not some hipster fad restaurant, but owned and run by people from Ethiopia or Eritrea. I ordered the Sambussa Combo and the Gomen. It took a little time to prepare, but I was okay with that because I knew that it was being prepared to order and would be fresh, not sitting in a double boiler or heat tub. The fellow who took my order was pleasant, engaging, and asked all the right questions to determine how best to help me find the meal that I wanted. The Sambussa were delicious, with each having its own unique flavor and texture. The home-made sauces that he gave me for the meals were excellent. (I'd like to steal the recipe.) If the menu says the dish is mild don't be afraid to ask for a spicy sauce if you would prefer that, they can do that and have no problem with it. The Gomen was expertly prepared and wrapped in the traditional Injera bread. Their Injera is awesome! Freshly made, soft and spongy, and very tasty. My only complaint and the reason for only four stars is this... The online menu gives a much cheaper price then the printed menu that they have in the restaurant. So, I looked them up online and decided to eat there but when I got there the meal cost me about $8 more than what I thought it was going to. Still an excellent meal and I have no real issues with the price, but they really should change and/or update their website menu. Their food is that good, so they don't have to bait and switch. I travel through Indianapolis infrequently for business, but I will come back here. Excellent food, nice people.
I went there on a Monday, February 14, 2022. I was amazed by the place design so I was taking a video of the place when the owner came over and told me what's my problem, I told him I too own my own bar and I thought the place was impressive. Then he followed to say "this what's wrong with Ethiopians, you are so secretive, why didn't you tell me you wanted to copy my place and ask permission before taking a video " I explained am from Nashville, Tennessee, I came to the restaurant cuz I wanted Ethiopian food, not because of some evil plan to copy his restaurant, that I didn't even own an Ethiopian restaurant, I owned a hookah bar. I own multiple businesses and a non-profit organization too, I have never felt threatened by a customer checking out my place out of admiration. The owner was rude as it gets and I felt like it was because I was Ethiopian. I seen him cater to the white people there and he treated us like a second citizen. It was self hate at it's finest. I lost my appetite right away so I requested for a to-go box right away and left. The food wasn't that great to add insult to injury. It was a watered down version of Ethiopian traditional food. I DONT PROMOTE EATING AT ANY PLACE THAT ADVOCATE FOR HATE AND PREFERENTIAL TREATMENT BASED ON RACE. It's important to treat everyone the same in business because if you do good, people might tell a few people, once you do bad, despicable in this case, the customer is going to tell everyone. Please change your treatment to foreign people, or people need to stop supporting it cuz it's served with a side dish of hate. Am also reporting this with BBB
Delicious Ethiopian food served in beautiful platters. We ordered veggie, chicken, and lamb dishes - all were excellent! We ordered mild dishes for the younger kids, but thankfully they serve delicious spicy sauces on the side. The kids (ages 4-14) all enjoyed the dishes, and we all enjoyed eating with our hands (you break off pieces of crepe-like bread, and use it to grab/scoop up food out of the large shared platter). We loved the bread, mango juice, and Ethiopian chai tea, and the owners are very welcoming and kind. WHEN we go back (because we will!), if we have a smaller group, we may try sitting in the "living room" section with larger comfy chairs and a small table in the middle, but I'm guessing we'll bring some friends, because we think everyone should experience eating at this authentic restaurant. Did I mention that the food is DELICIOUS?? ;) A dietary note: The food we ordered looked free of common allergens, and I've heard that if you call ahead they will prepare gluten-free bread for you!
Quality food, great atmosphere! I love Ethiopian food, so I took a group of friends to introduce them to this wonderful cuisine. We got a couple major combination platters (mixed meat and veggies, featuring doro watt in the middle), and it was delicious! The food was made fresh, cooked and seasoned well, and there was plenty of it. I appreciated that the spicy dishes did in fact have some spice to them, rather than making all the dishes super mild. Some places give small portions of just a few dishes with lots of injera in between. Major gives more variety and larger quantities. The atmosphere was also much better than some places I've been. It had a friendly, relaxed feel, with more authentic music in the background, which is what you need for a family style dinner. I would definitely recommend this place to people, whether there are just a couple of you or you're a large group, whether you're new to the food or used to it. Thank you, Major Restaurant, for a great time!
The food was good no complaint there, but I must say the serving size for the amount of money per plate is very small. I ordered the vegetarian combo and kid you not I had about a teaspoon maybe tablespoon of food per item . I felt they were really stingy I had to eat a lot of the injera to feel satisfied. I enjoyed myself with the group of people who came to celebrate with me . I wanted to wait until I tried another Ethiopian restaurant before I wrote a review but I was disappointed about the serving vs the price! The honey wine was good seemed a bit flat but once again I have no comparison for experience of the food so I will have to reexamination this review in the future. Clean atmosphere slow service . My group schedule ahead of time and we were served last even after a few other people came in after us. Granted there was 10 of us but the service was slow , seemed like a one man show . Be prepared to wait a while.
I was so hungry for ethiopian but didn't feel like dining in so I ordered for pick up. They quoted 25 minutes for the Lamb Combo for 1 person. When I arrived it was bagged and ready to go. It was less than $22 with tax. Everything was so delicious...the spicy dishes had great flavor and were not hot or overpowering. The combination of veggies and lentils and meat was just what I needed. The injera was soft and spongy. Definitely will do take out more often.

For someone with an Indian palette trying Ethiopian food for the first time, I can totally recommend it. I was initially a bit skeptical about eating a singular element, as their vegetarian menu displayed having either potato, mushroom, or chickpeas, but that was not the case. It's almost like an Indian Thali, where you not only get the curry but salad and a side of dry sabzi. The bread is just delicious and they provide complementary bread too. The lentil sambusa came with a filling of masoor daal, which was super tasty as well. Definitely going back to try other dishes from the menu.

If you have never had Ethiopian food I can recommend it highly enough. it's a bit odd to eat with out utensils but once you are used to that the food is great. if you have gluten sensitivity, most of the food is made with teff which is not a flour so most of the food is gluten free by nature. the owners a major may be the nicest people I've ever met. very hospitable. When you go, be patient. All the food is hand made after you order. Eden will cook each or your meals by hand so it takes a little bit. to burn some time I recomend the honey wine or coffee ceremony. it's truly a unique experience that you can enjoy with your whole family. please give it a try
If I were to rate the four Ethiopian restaurants in and around Indy, this one is the best. It isn't in the nicest area of town, but it is well maintained. It is run by a friendly Eritrean family. The food is authentic and almost identical as to what I have tasted in Ethiopia. The injera isn't as fermented, but most Americans prefer it that way. The atmosphere inside is very similar to what you would experience in many restaurants in Ethiopia. The price of the food isn't cheap, probably around $16 - $18 per person, but that is a normal price for Ethiopian cuisine. Serving sizes are large. I highly recommend paying extra for the traditional coffee ceremony.
Absolutely WORST Ethiopian restaurant ever!! The food is not bad but the business LACKS integrity. First, the actual prices differ drastically from the actual menu. Secondly, they did not follow orders. For example, we ordered beef and they served us lamb. We ordered Shiro and they served us some kind of blended lentils rather than true Shiro. I think that this business takes advantage of the lack of knowledge that most people have of Ethiopian cuisine. However, I have eaten at over 8 Ethiopians restaurants around the country and my partner is East African and we were not FOOLED! Save your money and order from Abyssinia Ethiopian Restaurant also in Indy.
Lovely place! Nicely decorated, clean, spacious. My husband and I got the lamb combo and it was very generous. If you aren't familiar, you eat with your fingers. The injera is a very spongey type bread that you tear and use to scoop the food. There are spicy and mild offerings on the combo but the spice wasn't overwhelming. The green sauce on the side was beyond fantastic and that is spicy. We felt the price was reasonable for the amount of food. Our server was very friendly and gracious. Definitely recommend!

We don't get there often, but Major Restaurant is one of our favorites. Excellent food and service, we've asked and they've entertained many, many questions. Ethiopian fare is dynamic but not exotic in terms of flavor. There are no particular spice combinations that should ruffle anyone's pallet. And, of course, most dishes are served atop their special bread, which should further calm the most nervous stomach. Next time we go we plan to bring our daughter, she can't wait. We give Major Restaurant our highest recommendation.

I don’t like the customer service at this restaurant at all. Every server is rude including the owner. It’s was not fair when the server treats other guests special but not me because I’m habesha I guess. My kids grow up here and I took them to show them their cultural food but my kids were very disappointed and I feel shame. I don’t recommend this restaurant at all. I asked the lamb tibs but the server got me beef and I ever get sick till tomorrow I will sue you guys.

This is a great mom & pop kind of restaurant. The food is delicious and authentic, as is the ambiance, though some might find it rather different than they expected. I grew up in East Africa, which is where I leaned to love Ethiopian food. I've been to a few Ethiopian restaurants in the Indy area, and this is by far my favorite. Great portion sizes for reasonable prices, the owners are so friendly, and the ambiance reminds me of my childhood. I have a reunion with some friends here every year, and the quality is always good. It's very clean, too.
Went here with three great guys. I was the only one had Ethiopian food. This was a test. One gentleman serves the table. Kind and responsive. My friend ordered the chai. He loved it. Ordered several sambusa's for the table. With a touch of the hot sauces, they were very tasty. Then, the main courses of combos came out. Good food. The injera was soft, tasty, and fresh. Every morsel was gone. This was a great experience and a day later, we are still talking about the food. Be careful of the mitmita. It's flaming hot but oh so good.
From what I know of through reading and viewing imagery, I felt it was a really good choice for traditional Ethiopian food and decor...I was right! The host are pleasant and welcoming not to mention very knowledgeable when it comes to the menu. Over all a charming establishment with friendly service. I wish I would have made some captures of the dish... I only did video for my vlog norals_jounery on ig and screen-captured this image from it smh. Amazing restaurant with probably some of the best Ethiopian food I have ever had. The ambiance is okay (not my taste), the location is not great, but the food and coffee are excellent. Great place to order large platter with friends or family and try out a variety of dishes. Unlimited Injera (bread), and they will bring out delicious spicy sauces if you ask for it. Courteous and fast servers. My favorite place for Ethiopian food in Indy, and even though it is very far away from my house, I can't stop driving here to get food!
This restaurant is a bit off the beaten path, but worth the drive! A few things to keep in mind, if this is your first Ethiopian food experience: 1) There are no utensils - you will be using a wrap-like bread to pickup food. 2) Everything is served family style, one entree for two people is plenty. 3) This experience cannot be rushed; you will be here for a while - but it is SO VERY WORTH IT. Absolutely delicious - slow down and savor it! Enjoy! Everyone is very friendly and helpful here! I can't wait to return!
This is one of the best east African food we have had in a long time. We found the place by accident, while we were looking for a different Somali restaurant in the same area. That restaurant turned out to be non-existent, so we went here. The food was carefully prepared. The owner was very gracious. The room was filled with some sweet incense. Overall fantastic. Note to owner: you really have to change the name of this restaurant. People will never associate "Major Restaurant" with east African cuisine.
I can't say enough or tell enough people how AMAZING this food is. Fresh and delicious - all home made fresh. So great, we actually went 2 days in a row!! You can get your food prepared 'less spicy' and definitely ask for the buttermilk cheese - it reduces the heat. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the music is very relaxing... And the owners are both so friendly and cheerful - more than happy to explain the food, the history, etc. It's an amazing experience. You will not be disappointed.
Three of us were all very happy with the food, friendly atmosphere, and cultural exposure provided here. The owner, an immigrant from Ethiopia, could answer our questions while making us feel welcome. We tried several different dishes and enjoyed them all. You must also try the mango juice, honey wine, and later the coffee ceremony. The location makes it easy to get to the interstate if you are traveling through. Don't hurry this delightful experience; savor every bit (and bite).
Excellent! Really outstanding cuisine. Clean & super hospitable. Not fast. Sometimes not pretty. Always good flavors tho & wide variety of things to try. They're happy to help you understand the foods etc. I haven't been here for a couple of months but i plan on coming again in 2 days. I will take some pics for you & add to this review. Maybe call first to verify if open or whatever but that's everywhere these days it seems.

We were looking up different styles of food to try and we happened to find this place and it turned out really good. We each got one sambusa and they were very good, then we split one of the major combos for 3. The flavors were very good. The server that helped us was also very friendly

Hands down, one of the most unique dining experiences to be had in Indianapolis. The owners are extremely hospitable and do an excellent job of explaining any of the menu options to those who may be trying Ethiopian cuisine for the first time. The food options are plentiful from appetizers to desserts. Many vegetarian options are available as well. The coffee ceremony should certainly not be missed and is my favorite part of the dining experience.
This place is the bomb! A perfect place for vegetarians and all alike to meet all your gastronome needs. We were starving by the time we went there for lunch, and we relished and enjoyed every bite. Plus, the fermented injera with all the yummy sides is healthy too, apart from being super tasty. The owners were very friendly to us every single time we visited. Major Ethiopian restaurant is a must-visit place in Indianapolis. Enjoy!
I'm posting this review hoping that the owner will read it. I'm giving you 1 star solely based on how rude you are! We have been costumers for over 1 year now, but not anymore. I will not go back, and will never send anyone to your restaurant because you need to learn how to treat costumers. Your wife is lovely, but unfortunately she is almost never serving. Abyssinia is just as good with a much better service.
The best Ethiopian and Eritrean food i had after moving out of DC area. Their veggie combo is great, and enough food for the number of people they mention. The ambience is really nice. Great service. Lots of options for vegans and vegetarians!

Holy wow! The potato salad was the things dreams are made of! The tomatoes and jalapenos were so fresh, their aroma was intoxicating. Veg platter was out of this world... so much flavor in everything! Both sauces were amazing. One tasted smoky, the other like jalapeno, garlic, and cilantro. Fabulous chai and amazing service. The outside will make you wonder if you should go inside or turn around. GO IN!!!
I have been coming here for years. Best Ethiopian in town! The couple that own it are extremely friendly and accommodating. For first-timers I recommend the major combination. Or the vegetarian combination. Either of the combinations for 2 will be plenty for two people to share and have a little bit to take home. Please allow plenty of time for your meal as all the meals appear to be cooked to order.
I went with family. I liked the Injera meat combo platter. It had enough portion for 4 of us. All of us enjoyed it. My parents had lived in Ethiopia and heard lots about Injera bread and the side dishes of lamb. I also had Ethiopian beer and coffee at the end. My son had rice and lamb side dish. We had to pack it as we were already full after eating the Injera bread. I certainly would go back.
My party of three (3) all ordered menu number 13 for takeout during lunch time. Positives include the generous portions, balanced flavors, and unusually friendly wait staff. Negatives include a lack of supplied silverware and borderline unreasonably high prices that did not match the much lower prices listed online. All this notwithstanding, best food I've ever had in Indy. Go Hoosiers!
Simply amazing. Had the vegetarian combo plate for four, and every single dish on the plate was killer. The coffee ceremony is a must. The staff were super nice and helpful. The decor is beautiful and the ambiance is very fitting, with Ethiopian & Eritrean music playing over the speakers and frankincense thick in the air. Definitely some of the best Ethiopian food I've ever had.
Fairly good size restaurant with an impressive menu selection and decent atmosphere. The prices were very reasonable. The service was good. The food was delicious and the meat was very tender. Im glad for the opportunity to experience Major.

Excellent Ethiopian food. A bit pricier than other Ethiopian restaurants that I've been too. Service was inviting, friendly and helpful. The parking lot is a disaster, full of lots of nasty-looking potholes, but that's not their fault. While in Indy we also tried Abyssinia Ethiopian restaurant, which was also good, but we thought Major was the better of the two.
We were lucky enough to find this gem of a restaurant while driving through the area from Chicago. The food was outstanding. Wonderful flavors, nice variety in the combo platter, friendly people. Yummy sauces. Highly recommended.

This was my 1st time eating Ethiopian food. It's full of many different complex taste! My only complaint is I was overcharged. I bought the veggie and beef combo. I was charged 17 instead of 12bfor the veggie and 20 for the beef instead of 15. The prices charged should be reflective of the menu price. This would be my only reason for not returning.
This was our first time having ethiopian food, 4 years ago. Thanks to this wonderful place we became fans then and there. We have now been at many ethiopian restaurants, but we haven’t found a better one. The food is fresh and amazing, and we were served by the owner. She is the nicest most attentive lady. Do your self a favor and visit this place.
I started with Fish Sambusa, which included three spicy pepper sauces. My entrée was Shrimp and Dinich Alicha Gomen (Potato with Spinach), served on (and with) Injera bread. Very good food and attentive service. The décor is a bit "diner" like, but the food definitely is worthwhile for the something other than the many burger joints in this area.
The food is not bad. I've had better Ethiopian food but it's fine. But for the price, it's not worth it. My combo order came with so little food it doesn't even look close to some of the pictures listed. And I ended up paying $27 with tip and didn't even get close to being full. Very disappointed. Definitely don't recommend and won't come back.
This place is excellent! Food is cooked to order and delicious! Setting is comfortable, small, and clean, and the service was top notch! Prices are great and the honey wine was perfect. I will be back for sure, and will highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great dining experience! Truly derserving of the 5 star rating!
Excellent spot for great Ethiopian food! We loved the traditional seating and everything was very tasty. I will say, it was pretty costly for the amount of food. That may deter us from coming back until we are really really craving Ethiopian food. :)

Fantastic. We shared the vegetarian combo for three. Amazingly spread of tastes, textures and spice levels. The injera was great and not overly sour. We also had the ‘less sweet’ tej (honey wine) which tbh was far better than most mead I’ve had. Clean, nicely decorated and perfect service. We’ll be back if ever in Indy!
Great food, great atmosphere, and our server was so genuine and accomodating. I'm bummed this place isn't closer to us, but I look forward to stopping by anytime I drive that way.

The BEST food I've had in a long time. The injera/no silverware thing confused me at first but I Googled it before asking....I guess I've only been to super-Americanized Ethiopian restaurants before today because I had no clue. Either way, worth a visit. Doro awaze tibs + carrots and potatoes in photo.
Very interesting food! My husband is in an Eritrean wedding, and we wanted to be prepared. Some really great flavors! Spicy, but in a good way. They have AMAZING coffee. Staff was friendly and helped explain some things to us, and answered our questions. Very pleased, can't wait to visit again!
Comfortable atmosphere, very friendly staff, and the food is excellent. We were offered extra injera several times. For those who have not experienced Ethiopian / Eritrean food, this is a good place to start. There is (or was) another Ethiopian restaurant in town, but I enjoyed this one more.
We drove all the way from Champaign IL to Axum first only to find out that it’s temporarily closed for renovation until Aug 3. Then drove to Major. The location is a bit remote. We always get the veggie combo to go, and this one was good but a bit less flavorful than other places. More

This was my first time at an Ethiopian restaurant and it was great. I had the lamb combo and it was fun to eat with the bread. Unfortunately I am just passing through, but I will have to find some Ethiopian restaurants a bit closer to home or I would definitely come back here.
By far the best Ethiopian food I have ever had. Its not located in the best area but the food is great. The injera’s melt away in the mouth and all the entrée’s we tried were really good. If you are around the area and are craving for some ethiopian this place is a must try!!
My go to place for Ethiopian food. We are regulars and the quality and taste of the food never changes. I have had Ethiopian food in many places but nothing like this place. The people who run this place are so lovely. If you are around Indianapolis, do try this restaurant.
The service was kind and prompt. I had the chai tea and the vegetarian combo platter. I wasn't expecting to eat with my hands but the food was delicious. I would definitely eat here again.

This is a real hidden gem. We got a combo for three to go. Have never had Ethiopian to go. They split the food equally into three containers. Food was so plentiful, that it was enough for two or more meals each, and wow was it delicious. This is a definite do again.
Friendly service, delicious food, nice ambiance, and the prices for the amount of food is good. They had plenty of vegetarian options and both spicy and mild versions of dishes. Finally parking was easy.

Server was extremely nice, It was my 1st time having Ethiopian food and it was delicious. I like that there were people there, but not too busy. The incense they burned smelled so good...The art, the music it really gives you a glimpse into their culture.
Authentic food and very nice service. I’ve been here twice now and each time went well. They also have a portion of the restaurant designed to be reflective of the region, so you feel sort of transported thousands of miles away from Indy sitting in there.
The food and service were both excellent. We will definitely be going back for more! We visited again today and the food is still amazing. We will again be returning for more!

The food at Major is epic Ethiopian cuisine. This is not fast food. It is cooked fresh and brought out hot to your table. Most of all, it is delicious. Family owned and run, the atmosphere and service has an intimacy and ambience unparalleled.
Both my girlfriend and I are vegan and since Ethiopian food has tons of vegan options naturally we go this place a lot. It is no surprise that Major restaurant is our favorite restaurant in entire Indiana. It is a run by a a friendly couple
Incredible food, service and atmosphere! Since leaving Ethiopia I’ve struggled to find a restaurant that serves authentic Ethiopian food and has an incredible atmosphere, but now it looks like my search is complete. The kind staff provided
Very beautiful place! Server was very helpful and genuine. Food was flavorful in every single bite! Would recommend to anyone. Such an amazing connection with your food to eat with your hands adds so much taste and gratitude! Will be back!!
We found this place on a whim and I am so glad we did. We have gone here over and over again. It is hands down my new favorite food and restaurant. Order the Major Combinations to try a variety of new flavors and foods. You won't regret it.
Yum! The flavors make you come alive... spicy, savory, just delicious. We tried the Major Combination platter and fish and chicken sambussa. Everything was perfectly seasoned that we finished every bite. The combination of the meats and

My coworkers and i had a long day traveling with a lot of bumps along the way. We stopped at the nearest place off the highway and we were blown away. The lady that greeted us at the front was charming and very nice. We were given
Great food! Amazing customer service. It's in a very unassuming location but 100% worth the visit. The inside is gorgeous and everything is authentic.

Amazing food, great people, authentic place. #44 Lamb and #32 Chicken dish were awesome. Chutney and authentic bread were great sides. Overall, it is in my favorite and will definitely go back if I am in the area.
Loved this place! Delicious food, friendly staff, lovely unique interior and seemed very clean. Service was a bit slow but otherwise we loved it. Got the combination meal and the combo sambussas, and honey wine.
I love this place. When I lived in Indianapolis I ate there a few times every month. Best Ethiopian food I have ever had. And the wait staff takes the time to explain to you what everything is and how it works.
Food is exceptional evert time. Service is top notch. I love the wall decorations, from the photos to the map. You definitely get the best of Ethiopia, from the owners to the food, when you stop in at Major.
I have never tried Ethiopian food before and I have been missing out. I shared the lamb combo with my husband and we both enjoyed it a great deal. The coffee and the chai tea we're very delicious as well.
So much flavor and delicious I've been telling everyone about this food

So delicious, vegan friendly, they have more traditional Ethiopian style seating as well as contemporary. Eat with your hands! It's wonderfully flavorful food and friendly service. Give it a try!
Amazing Ethiopian food. If you're never had it before, I'd recommend starting at this place. The mushroom dish is *chef's kiss*. Service was super friendly too- would come back if ever in Indy!
The best Ethiopian (actually best African) restaurant that I have ever been to A single meal could even feed multiple people, that or noone in my group had large appetites

Delicious!! Servings were ample, well seasoned and injera was perfect. Waitstaff was friendly and helpful. We drove 2 hours for Ethiopian food and it was worth it! So yummy.
We shared a combo plate with two chicken, three lamb, three lentil, and three veggies for three with honey wine and the coffee ceremony. What a great birthday celebration!
Good Ethiopian food and prices are reasonable. I got the Beef Sampler. It was very good. The food had a bit of spicy heat to it but not too much. Very flavorful.
Food was yummy. And the waitress Jemilla was very nice.

First time here and was ridiculously impressed. Wonderful atmosphere, delicious food, great service, and did I mention the delicious food? Fantastic stuff!
Service was a little unresponsive, as business was slow, but still quite friendly. The food was very good. I had gomen be-siga and very much enjoyed it.
Food is good, not great. Across the board the food was very one note flavor and didn't balance out. We actually added salt to all of our food.
Absolutely fantastic. Had the Major combination for two. Very flavorful, my favorite were the spicy options. Very delicious, will be back!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MAJOR AND WILL FOREVER COME BACK OVER AND OVER AGAIN!!!
