I rent a parking space from MacKinnon Development Corp. The space is well-maintained (plowed regularly) and the cost is competitive (one of the cheaper ones in the Kingston area). The best thing about this group though is their exemplary service: they are quick to reply if I have any questions about the parking space, or to follow up on my requests (ie: I asked them to ice the lot once after a cold night and they were able to get to it the next morning). As well, recently there was an accident involving one of their snow plows and my vehicle; to respond, they were quick to get in touch with me and help me get a quote for my vehicle and remedy the situation by covering the costs. Accidents happen, and I really appreciate them being so quick to take charge and help make things right. They are a great team of people! 10/10 would recommend.

I rented with Mackinnon for a short time before a different rental management company took over my apartment this past month. Despite the change in landlords, I still got charged rent by Mackinnon (getting double charged in rent) and that money has not been returned. My apartment had been repainted by Mackinnon for when we moved in in September but since then the walls and baseboards have gone moldy in areas due to humidity issues and lack of ventilation. These seem to be quick fixes to ongoing problems. The apartment was not cleaned well before moving in. I found dog kibble in the kitchen cupboards, the cupboards were all very dirty inside, and the shower drain was clogged with hair. Besides these issues, they have been quick to respond over email, however, these problems have made me disappointed with my brief time with them.

Rented a parking spot with them and was there for a couple years. Then got given 6 days notice to terimate my parking spot without any reason why. Was told to give back parking tag and would receive money back asap. This was in November and still waiting for refund back and it is mid month in January. Was calling and emailing to get refund back and noone ever responded back to me. Finally, today when posted review is when I received the refund. Also parking lot was never salted in the winter and not properly kept clean. Will never rent from them again.

My experience have been relatively mixed with this company. On one hand they have very well-maintained and updated properties with great amenities and quick response to tenant needs. However, renting with them will set you back at least $1000/month which is very expensive for the units they offer. Additionally, the staff really pressured us to make a decision on renting their units partially threatening us and forcing us to make a quick decision on one of their rentals (it was quite an unpleasant experience)

I spent three years living in one of MacKinnon Dev's properties. Good location that was right beside campus. Management and employees are very respectful, neither me or my housemates had any issues with them during our lease of the property. I met Ewen on several occasions as he was quick to respond in the event that we needed him on the property. Certainly got the impression they were committed to delivering a good service. I would recommend them to any students looking for a good place to stay near campus.

I had tenancy with MacKinnon Development over the course of my studies. The unit provided me with more than I could have asked for, with a great view of Bath road, close to amenities and a short drive from campus. The staff at MDC was outstanding. As they work daily to provide essential information for their tenants and perform maintenance as required to the building. I strongly encourage tenancy with MDC, due to my pleasant experience during my stay at one of the buildings that they provide.

Ewen and Jessica were wonderful landlords and all-around kind-hearted individuals. They are responsive, approachable, and they truly care about their tenants. They also hire a team of friendly and hard working people! Any issues we had were dealt with promptly, and we really loved the unit we were living in. They provide a truly complete and comprehensive service and take a lot of the stress out of maintaining your home. We strongly recommend renting with them, if you have the chance!

I leased a parking space from Ewen and Jessica this past school year. The spot was well maintained with prompt snow removal throughout the winter months. When an issue arised regarding a parking ticket, they were quick to respond and were very helpful and pleasant to work with while resolving the error! Would definitely recommend MacKinnon Development Corporation to anyone looking to lease a parking space or student house!

I have lived in my home for 3 years now and with two of those years our place has been managed by MacKinnon. If ever I have had any issues arise, Jessica has always been quick and prompt with resonding to my emails. The staff they have are all wonderful - very kind and pleasant to work with. I have rented with Mackinnon properties for the last two years and it has been nothing short of an impeccable experience. The owners are so kind and employ great people to get any repairs done in a timely fashion. They have made us feel very much as though we are at home, and as students from Queen’s, there is nothing more we could have asked for.

As a former tenant, I am pleased with both the wonderful apartment and the service provided by MacKinnon Developments. The cleaning personnel, landlords, and other staff were always quick to respond to our concerns whenever they arose. The apartment was above par for student housing and in a great location. Very professional service. They always provided notice of entry and responded to emails in a timely fashion. Their maintenance man, Bryan, was exceptional -- super friendly and proficient. Overall, the property was kept in great condition and Mackinnon did their best to meets the needs of their tenants.

I wish there was at least a laundry washer in-suite in 1 bedroom unit. Because I was almost diagnosed with Covid, and have been staying in the unit for a week. Number of times, When I cook, the fire alarm went off ringing, because fire alarm is located in a awkward spot, end up hurting my ears.

I rented a monthly parking spot from the MacKinnon Development Corporation for just under a year. From start to finish the process was seamless. A very efficient and professional company; and very timely with all correspondence. I would %100 recommend if you are looking for a reputable company.
