I've gone to the Wax Museum since I was a child. I've probably been 7-10 times. They tend to change the layout everytime I've visited which is a nice change. I wish they would add more people though but, I'm sure that will come in time. I agree with some of the reviewers that some of the figures don't look a whole lot like there human counter parts. But, for the most part they look good. It brings back the nostalgia of going here when I was younger when I visit now. I probably go more than people would normally do but, it's just an enjoyable experience. The horror section downstairs is fun to visit. To enter you have to open a series of doors to find which one is the entrance all but one have a monster figure behind the door. It gives off a scary vibe which is cool. Once inside it is VERY dark. It is way more enjoyable walking through with a crowd. Different pressure mats trigger things to happen when you walk through which is cool. I would definitely recommend going here at least once when you venture to San Antonio.

I'm not too big of a movie buff but this was included as a 3 way combo. I figured it would be all movie based and although there were a few pop culture references, I got through this museum okay. Donald Trump, Lady Gaga, Will Smith, Barrack Obama and Jimmy Kimmel are a few you can expect to see. My kiddo tried to take advantage of photo ops where she could but some of the displays were not working, or badly damaged. My group laughed about the horror section leading to a Mexican revolutionary section then Jesus last meal. Some displays just seemed like fillers. The kids fairytales section seemed dated and out of place as well. But I guess that's how you.can say there's over 200 wax figures inside. I paid about $55 for my daughter and I as part of a 3 way combo between Ripleys BION, the 4D theater and the Wax Museum. Wouldn't do it again.

Fun experience for the kids (and me too)! Although we’ve been here just about once a year, the changes/additions they update makes it a new experience every visit. From modern celebrities and famous people to history, science and religion, the walk through is fun and enlightening. Don’t forget to test your nerves in the horror section, it will test your level of fright immediately. I’d recommend adding Ripley’s tour as well being that they are side by side. You are able to purchase a duo ticket and able to enter both facilities. Lastly, you can take your time walking through and make it an adventure or simply cruise through if you’re limited in time. Either way, it’s a fun experience.

My family has visited this wax museum a few times and we always enjoy it. It is not huge but it is a fun way to spend a couple hours. I think it is good for family's with kids or just adults alone. There are plenty of photo opportunities to pose with the wax models. It is located right across the street from the Alamo. There is a place to get snacks and drinks that are fairly priced. The T-rex at the very beginning is one of my kids favorite spots to have their picture taken. There is a haunted house area you can walk down to that would be good for teenagers and adults. I did not go in because my little kids were afraid. My husband said it was cool but there are lots of flashing lights. You can bundle your tickets with the Ripley's Believe It or Not and 4D moving theater.

For being in this location it's a fun place to go for a weekend! We enjoyed it. I do have one or two major complaint. The girl that helped us with our wax hands, her name is Marie I believe, was a total and complete unfriendly employee with the worst attitude. She didn't smile once and acted like she HATED her job. Didn't acknowledge when someone was standing there and when she did she acted like it was a burden to actually do her job. WORST customer service I have EVER gotten. Oh not to mention the guy working the museum desk (can't remember his name but he has piercings) was talking very loudly about his opinion about abortions and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who didn't wanna hear his opinions! Def not the best experience we had there.

I remember coming here as a child, and more recent for me as an adult in 2006. I was disappointed in the horror section. Using TV screens to replace what was once wax look a likes of horror movie characters behind the "pick a door" doors. Some of the doors had no door knobs, and dated horror characters (how ever they are classic villians). The addition of comic characters were a welcomed change, but I feel the museum has been cut down to size, it doesn't take as long to walk through like I remember, and the exhibits bounce around. You go from comic characters to fairy land, to colonial to horror to Spanish. I still had a good time don't get me wrong it just seemed too expensive for the wonky-ness and lack of exhibits. Kids will LOVE this place.

It’s always been a beautiful place. My nephew and I have been going for years, it’s kind of our tradition. I have been going though since 1989 when they originally opened. It’s very neat, organized. Love the scary section below. As a kid my grandmother used to do her grocery shopping in that basement, which was originally a type of “Kress” grocery. The wax museum did an amazing job remodeling the facility and specifically that basement into the scary wax area, love it! You can buy tickets right there, computer generated instant, very organized.

We were a family of 10 people THIS WAS AN ALSO EXPERIENCE. So worth getting the options for multi visit passes. There was no long lines, no rushing. We were able to take our time, social distance from other and YES they have elevators because we had a stroller & kid's wagon so this was a great bonus addition. All the kids from teens to toddlers LOVED each different areas to visit. The hunted house was not excluded in package but we still paid for it too. WORTH IT! Good old fashion, clean, family fun with laughter, IG worthy pics & u get a little scared too! Perfection☆

I posted a concern on January 16, 2021 about one of the worker being shady. Management didn't hesitate to address my concern and offered an investigation to discern what could have happen and do a discovery. Management found what was missing and they were very helpful in setting things in order for the customer. I was very pleased to see the total sincere concern on the part of the team there and the speedy way they reached out. Excellent job and Thank you much. Things and incidents happens, but it's a plus when they are handled in a professional way.

We went to the wax museum after several years- this time with grandchildren 11 and 7 years of age. We found admission charges to be quite expensive- you might be better off by purchasing combined tickets to visit several attractions. Several of the figures did not seem to be like the real people, in my opinion. The horror section was frightening to the 7 year old. You might want to skip this are if you have small children.

On top of this place being too expensive, the little boy they have serving the snack doesn’t wear a mask or gloves and after he gave me and several people infront of me our dip&dots he grabbed our spoons from the end we put in our mouths and handed it to us. After touching the money, touching all that stuff behind the counter, and during a pandemic, it was disgusting!!!! Please train the people behind the snack bar proper cleanliness if they are going to be working with food especially!

  • Eric Tam

I've visited other Wax museum before and this one is a bit short.. Was expecting more folks (missing former presidents, and former first lady), missing lot of Asian actors including Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan, missing lot of famous politicians but had President Trump on the main entrance and missing lot of famous sports figures. But if you're in the area you might as well get the two for one or three for one pass and visit all three; it's less than a block apart.

  • Toasty

This place was so cool! There were wax statues of about every famous person/movie character you could ever think of. Some of these actually looked insanely realistic, and it kind of made me jump a few times because I thought they were the real people. They did a great job making this place, and it’s just a cool place to go walk around and experience.

2ND TIME I COME DOWN TO THE WAX MUSEUM. DEFINITELY HAD MORE FUN EXPLORING EVERYTHING ELSE SA HAS TO OFFER BECAUSE THE EXPERIENCE AT SIX FLAGS WAS A HORRIBLE ONE, LAST TIME I GO. THIS PLACE MADE UP FOR IT! LOVED IT HAD SO MUCH FUN AS WELL WITH RIPLEYS BELIEVE IT OR NOT NEXT DOOR AND THE OTHER AMAZING ADVENTURES LIKE THE TOMB RAIDER EXPERIENCE. THANK YOU AND I LOVE HOW YOU ALL STAY OPEN UNTIL 11 PM!!!! THANK YOU

  • JohAnna Hunter

Definitely cool for kids, a bit chessy for adults. If you are in the military or a veteran, they offer a SERIOUS discount on tickets. Call to make sure the offer still stands before you go. The figures were cool, not exactly life size-presidents, superheroes, scary movie villains-don't worry, they let you bypass the scary stuff if you aren't into it. Overall, I would say visit for yourself, you may love it.

  • Isai Escamilla

A lot larger than I initially thought. There's a wide span of genres and settings for the wax figures so it's not seeing a lot of the same thing. All of them do resemble their based upon counterpart but some definitely stand out with definition above others. Won't regret taking a look and it's a great way to get out of the summer heat.

First off let me say I'm so upset I spent so much money on this. The wax figures were horrible they didnt even look like the people they were suppose to be and some weren't even made out of wax. It literally took us 10 mins to go thru the entire thing. Would not recommend save your coins. The staff was friendly that was the only good thing going for this place.

  • Mike Plotts

I've been to a few wax museums and usually you can't touch the exhibits but at this place they encourage you to take pictures with their statues. It was a lot of fun but the horror section is probably way too intense for young kids.

Saturday night in San Antonio took us to the wax museum, while the admission price seems a little steep at $25.00 , its pretty much par for the course compared to other attractions nearby. For the most part it was a fun adventure, with some hit and misses on the life like qualities of some of the wax figures. Overall a worthwhile adventure.

  • L C (IslandStarGazer)

Horrible. Great disappointment with the wax sculptures. Most appeared to be done by sculpting learners. The price of admission far exceeded the entertainment value. You will waste your money if you go here. It is a small "museum" if you can call it that and not worth your time nor your cash. Save your money for Sea World. Never going back.

  • Dawna H

Fun time, not the most lifelike wax museum we have been to, but the kids enjoyed it. Also here is the 4D theater, one if the better ones we've been to, monster movie and a snowman movie. We got the pass that gets you into all 6 Ripley's attractions. It was a good deal. Worked out to about $10 for each attraction per person.

  • Tamaria S

I came in just to get a couple of drinks for my son and I, and Albert (the employee who helped us) was SO nice and polite. I was surprised at how curteous he was with everything he asked and suggested. He was really inviting and easy to talk to. This guy needs a raise, promotion, and whatever else for being awesome.

  • Amber Dunn

The wax museum was very cool. We did the haunted house with the love actors and it was awesome. It’s not a long haunted section but the live actors are very dedicated. I highly recommend.

I LOVE her....she has stood by my side no matter what over the year and a half we've been together.

Not what is used to be. It seems like they have less wax figures and a bunch of empty space. Haven't updated anything in years. Everything was very dirty and dusty. Looks like no one has been keeping up with the displays for a while. I do not recommend wasting your money for this.

  • Shannon Coleman

We’ve been to other wax museums in New York City and Las Vegas and were impressed with both. This was very sub par. The people were a far cry from accurate. The clothing fit was not even close. The one perk was the haunted house. We paid like $25 per person. Should have been $10.

  • Yeshia Freeman

My family and I visited for the first time about a week ago. We had an amazing good time. The wax figures we so life like, we took hundreds of pictures and posed with all the figures. If you looking for something different this is the spot. Concession stand is great too...

  • B K.

Always exciting, it's nice to see new figures every time we visit, about twice a year. They update there characters, my grandson loved the superheroes.

It's a ok place the wax people people do not look exactly like other wax museums of gone to but if you need to burn some time this is a place to come over but buy the 3 ticket offer (burn off 1 1/2 hours just in case you need to burn time reservations for restaurants)

The wax museum was interesting and the customer service made it fun, My family enjoyed it, Loved downtown but the rivercenter mall was a little bit too ghtetto for me, We are gonna go to north star mall tomorrow but will be back to see the alamo one more time!

  • kamaya black

They need more diversity with the wax people their was only Obama, will Smith, some dude I don’t know, and Beyoncé who doesn’t even look like her, I didn’t know their was a scary part their should’ve been a warming but it was definitely fun and interesting

  • Cathy Brown

I am really glad we bought the combo tickets, I would have been really annoyed had I paid full price to your. With that being said I do appreciate the skills it take to create the displays. Some are so life like we totally expected them to blink or talk.

  • Keamber Shields

It really is time for some updates and upgrades. Alot of things out dated. It's a disappointment. Born and raised here in SA and still have the same things since my elementary field trips and im 35 years old smh. San Antonio we need to do better

  • Maximiliano Mendoza

Wax figures average, Would recommend the scary part, really good! 4D movie waste of time (the visualization is very bad, very dark and blurry, it hurt my eyes)

OMG..... This was so BAD, smh!!! The price was WAY too expensive, that's the 1st problem. Almost $80 for 4 people, two kids and two adults!? Ok, we paid and now we are in. We are looking around and we are literally shaking our heads, lol.

It was probably the worst craftsmanship I've seen out of any wax museum I've been too. The likeliness to the real people was not even close. I would not visit again or recommend. Stick with Madam Tussauds to get your money worth.

  • Destiny Alvarez

It was a small walk through i felt like. I went over ten years ago and they still had some of the same wax art from then. They do offer a snack bar that serves only things you'd get at a movie theater. And they have a 4D show.

  • Rita Danes

Some wax figures did not look like the actors/actressess/singers but it was nice to walk around and look. I enjoyed the fairy tale stories, super heroes, historical, ,Christ and the horror. Worth going to the first time.

Didn’t like it at all!!! Way too much expensive for the time you spend there and most of the figures were really awful, they didn’t like to the characters! Some were really creepy! Don’t waste your time or money

  • Brandon Parker

Enjoyable. The wax figures are not the best, but still a lot of fun to look at. The "scary dungeon" was unexpected but really good. Good size place to see. Nice and cool inside for when the mid day sun is out.

  • Magsec50

This was a great experience. There were multiple exhibits and they even had a haunted attraction when we went. It was a bit pricey but well worth it. You definitely get your money's worth. Enjoy and have fun!

  • THOMAS “Daddy” G

Very fun for the kids to learn about,,don't rush through,,,take your time,,,have fun,,once you get to the end go backwards,,,have fun,,,Don't forget the horror section,,go more than once very fun,(Scary)

  • Veronica Torres

Although some don't look EXACTLY like the real life person it's still fun to explore and take photos. The new superheroes exibit is great and we LOVED the scary section was like a spooky haunted house!

  • Gold “Goldmember” Member

Figures are not very realistic.. they really pale in comparison to Madame Tussauds. Some I didn't even recognize until I saw the name. Like Madonna. Not like her at all. But, the horror part was fun.

  • Kelsey Bartkowiak

Very interesting. Some of the wax sculptures didn't look like who they were supposed to be. Some were spot on. Husband says the scary part is a must see if you like to be scared. I, however, cried.

  • justin weisgerber

It was so awesome!! Got to meet awesome celebrities including my girl Mrs. Marilyn Monroe. I had a great time plan to go back most definitely and I definitely recommend it!! Best time ever!!

  • Julesss Sss

Pricey to get in ($47 for 2 people) and it took us about 10 minutes to walk through. Most of the "wax" figures don't look like the person. Wouldn't recommend and won't be going back.

  • Nikita Uzoh

The wax were pretty realistic but I was upset when not one celebrity turned real! They need to redo Serena Williams! I was extremely offended by how they did her like that!

Plenty of fun for the whole family. Get package deal for other attractions will be a lot cheaper. Lots of fun around that whole area. Have your camera ready.

Fun for the family if you are super into pictures, selfies, etc. As a 20-something couple, the figures in the lobby from Avengers were the most fun for us.

Neat display of wax characters! Be cautious when taking little ones into the horror section though. It could be a little much for them.

  • D Griffin

A little bit pricey for what you get...BUT...it was super fun...We got the all access pass and it turned out to be a great bargain...

  • Michael Lorren

This wax museum is about the same as most but does have a horror section down the stairs that was pretty cool...worth the visit..

  • Mrs Davis

In town for graduation and looking for things to do. Descent price which included 3 attractions and tickets good for 1 year.

  • Will J.

Its quick museum for the price. Very expensive and most wax statue don't look like the stars they are supposed to represent.

  • Dayna Stanley

Definitely not up to standard to normal Tussauds locations. This used to be much better quality but has gone downhill.

  • Robert Lealiiee, Jr.

Great celebrities like a statue. Full of superheroes including the 3-D movie theater when the seats starts moving in.
