Whether you’re chatting with the spirits or the squirrels, it’s easy to lose track of time here. I used to bring my flute and play under a big oak tree (maybe? I don’t know trees) but I feel like that was creepy… this cemetery is an glance into the past and it’s beautifully maintained the way it should be .
I am a frequent visitor to Lone Fir Cemetery since 2001 when I saw a small flock of chickens pecking about in this beautiful boneyard. In the intervening years, despite an abundance of deplorable and self-destructive habits, my carcass and
first time going here and it was not a disappointment. I much prefer to be around dead people than living so this was a lovely experience for my that I would highly recommend for others who also hate living people. the grass was green and
I went to the most haunted part of the cemetery, the big moselium. I had a bottle of soda with me and when I got to the moselium I took a picture of the inside when the sode got throw from my hands! I had to pick up each piece of glass by
I’ve been taking tourists here on my “Sacred Places” tour of the city — a wonderful addition — but for the first time today I brought a city bike tour here. It won’t be the last! We bill our tour as “Best of the City” and it couldn’t have
I absolutely love this cemetery. They used to allow you entry at any time but recently have really blocked it off at night, which is a shame. The cemetery has great energy, and is a wonderful place to go for a stroll, even in the rain.
Had many ghostly interactions here with those passed on. Specifically Mr. Hawthorne, the psychiatrist. Had some him speaking caught during and EVP. Very beautiful and historic and an overall interesting place.
Love learning the stories behind the grave stones; and imagining the ones whose stories I haven’t learned yet. Favorite departed people: Charity Lamb (unmarked grave), Anne Tingry-LeCoz, and Eric Ladd! More
A great, accessible cemetery for a jog, or walk with a friend. Many great places to sit and chat, think, or read, with old trees for company and breaking line of sight to the cars and people outside.
One of our favorites. Kids love to come here for a picnic or just to see some of the older graves. Shady and cooler on hot days.
Lone Fir Cemetery is on National Geographic’s list of top 10 cemeteries to visit and a spectacular place for spirit-spotting.
The most iconic cemetery. Nothing better than strolling through a cemetery as old as the state of Oregon is. More
Lovely little historical cemetery. Love walking around the park after long days at work.

Was my first time here and it did not disappoint. Very peaceful, quiet, historical, spooky kind of place.
It's late October, we visited an historic cemetery on a beautiful autumn late afternoon. Charming.
