Le Date in Montreal is an absolute marvel! ✨ A haven where diversity thrives and every soul finds a home. I've stepped into a realm of sheer enchantment – an atmosphere pulsating with unfiltered love and boundless joy. Picture this: off-key karaoke, divine drinks, and an irresistible dancefloor. It's a symphony of happiness where all hearts harmonize, no matter their background. This place exudes an aura of inclusivity and acceptance that's simply unmatched. From the moment I walked in, I was enveloped by an overwhelming sense of warmth. Strangers became friends, and the air was charged with an energy that could light up the night sky. The staff's impeccable service was like the cherry on top of an already magnificent cake. A particular incident stood out, sealing my conviction about this being more than a bar – it's a family. When a situation arose over seating, a ripple of unity spread through the crowd. Strangers swiftly transformed into defenders of fairness, showcasing the heartwarming essence that makes Le Date exceptional. In essence, Le Date isn't just a place to gather; it's a living, breathing tapestry woven with threads of kindness, camaraderie, and unadulterated bliss. With every visit, you step into a world that should rightly be christened "La Famille." IG: Melanatedpsyche

There was 6 of us, we got there around 8:30 pm, there were many seats left. After sitting for 10min, the servers comes around, asks for drink, and pressures everybody at the table to order. If you don't, they want you out, even if everyone at your table is ordering. Then every 30min-1h, they pressure you again to order more or leave. If you don'y order, they just remove you from the karaoke playlist without telling you everytime you register. Moreover, we'd reserved a spot, then got asked to switch places with bigger group so that everyone could have a seat, which we did, but again, they were very rude about it. Also, once you get served, they don't even give you time to chill and drink your drink. They put the drink on the table, then right after, the server asks you to pay as if you were going to rob the place or someting. You don't even have time to experience the service before they ask you to tip. Anyways, wouldn't recommend the place, although their karaoke setup is the best I've seen in Montreal so far. Edit : I have read some of the other poor reviews of this place, the way the owner answers should tell you everything you need to know
If you've never gone to a karaoke bar, here's the following information you need to know: 1. No reservations are needed unless you're a group of 4 people and more. 2. The only "fee" to partake in the karaoke is to buy a drink. Expect to pay 9$ for a beer 3. You have to look at the song catalogue they have online and search if your song is the system 4.Submit your song and then they'll call you when it's your turn. If there is a lot of people, expect like a 30-45 minute wait. 5. The stage is all yours, so all you have left is to sing your heart out and enjoy your time there! Loved the place. It's small, but everyone there is very chill. I'll have to come again. The staff is super nice and very welcoming The staff there is also super talented! They are all amazing singers! You won't be disappointed! If your server is Fred, you'll be treated like a king. I really recommend this place.

We tried to go for our friend’s birthday and book two reservations under different names. They cancelled one (without notifying the email under the booking) since they were “really busy” that night without so much as an apology when we all arrived. More than an hour after the initial reservation, they finally let the other half of the group in but were not going to let us all sit together (again despite bookings being made in advance to all celebrate the birthday). There was no apology, no remorse, and instead they threatened to kick some of us out for not purchasing alcoholic drinks which is completely unacceptable. No compensation can make up for the disrespect we faced there and we tried to make the most of the situation. I urge the establishment to better train their staff to be kind to paying customers and recognize their mistakes for the sake of the business. Such a shame.
Staff super RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL. Got absolutely YELLED at by the security guard and the staff member sitting next to him for drinking water from a bottle of water I got at couche tard rather than getting water at the bar. He could have kindly let me know that I cannot bring a bottle of water inside of the bar rather than ATTACK me for 5 minute straight. They kept going on about how I didn't buy the bottle of water from the bar. I literally went for a small walk to get some fresh air since it was so hot inside and got a bottle of water on my way back, I didn't think that was a big deal, and it's not. I think this just reflects how poorly the security guard feels about himself since he feels the need to be aggressive towards other people. I think it's sad really. I do not recommend this place.

Came in on a quiet Tuesday night two staff members on, one looked to be working hard the other looked to be having a chat with the one who was working hard. The lazy bar tender looked directly at us, looked us up and down, and turned around. we tried to get service at least three times, with a smile, a hey, and a wave and the available bartender gave us no attention. We didn’t stay for more than 5 minutes because the bar tender had AMPLE oppourtunitues to serve us but was clearly more concerned with chatting and letting his colleague do all the work. Just because it’s a quiet night it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be giving your best most attentive service. And to whoever manages maybe speak to the bar tender with the long stringy bar who was working tonight about their customer service ethic.

the staff was soooo rude expect our waiter, they forced my friend who doesn’t drink to buy a drink even though the other 7 of us has a drink. i sang 2 songs after waiting 2 hours to sing and they refused to let me sing another song even though other people were singing several songs. i felt very targeted even though it’s supposed to be a safe space, could be a fun place if you hired new staff, specifically the MC women and the reservation guy with straight long hair. we also had a reservation that they confirmed and then they refused us in at tthe door and we had to beg for them to let us in for my friends birthday. they censored us. #boycottledatekaraoke
I was visiting Montreal and begged my son and his partner to take me out for a karaoke experience, and they took me to Le Date. I love everything about this place. All ages, all sizes, all everything! The entertainment was great and the host was wonderful. A joyous atmosphere with great service. I'm a 69 year old straight woman from Calgary, and this place is in the Gay Village. I had a blast, met lots of people, felt totally comfortable, and wish there were similar places in where I live. Very inclusive and friendly. I'll be back!

By far one of my favorite places to go to. The staff are exceptionally wonderful. The atmosphere is extremely fun and energetic. There is no Judgement. Everyone was welcomed. Whether you are an amazing singer or only sound good in the shower, everyone encourages one another. This is probably one of the most inclusive and welcoming places I have ever been. I strongly suggest going here for a wonderful time. THE BEST KARAOKE BAR IN MONTREAL!

Last night on October 19th 2023 I was blocked by the security guards from getting inside because I was wearing sandals. I explained that I had already gotten in a few times wearing the same sandals, the security guard then asked two other guards and they all said no. Zero stars for being inclusive. Not a place to go in this “Cartier inclusif” if you wear sandals.

Looking to have an AWESOME night?! This place is (L)it. The energy is fun and super laid back at the same time. Absolutely love the vibe and look of the place. Yummy drinks and cheap prices for said drinks (with prices depending on when you’re there). Helpful servers and an awesome music curator/DJ/hypebeast. You actually feel comfortable enough to get up on stage! I will definitely be back.
Drinks are completely overpriced. I ordered a beer that came out to almost ten dollars before tip and tax, then when I came back to order a second drink the bartender told me off for not tipping the first time (I don't mind tipping, I'm just not tipping on a 10$ beer). Every other karaoke bar in Montreal is better than this place.

It's one of my favorite karaoke spots, drinks are expensive though since they have night time prices but the atmosphere is amazing! I usually make more than a few new friends for the night every time. Also hear french, english and spanish songs too which is fun, good mix of genres typically!

While the place is good, I noticed the Karaoke Master has preference for their friends as they were singing up to three times while we have only one song each. Do not believe me? well the videos on the website are proof of that. Also we were calling several times the servers in both English and French but nothing happened. Too slow and somewhat expensive
The """"hostess"""" just suck. I've been here 3 times and she always pull white people t ok the stage lol She doesn't know when to cut people off when the song it's like 7 minutes. Also, she can't read apparently cuz if it's "Steven" 10 times she doesn't think liks "uhmmm this person has sang 10 songs before, let's pick another one". Ugh, get her out.
I like this place, my str8 friends are also interested, relax chill laugh sing and maybe even someone hit on you the karaoke is better than the other bars, the drinks are pretty much standard ice and syrup I’ve got use to it in canada, so maybe go with beer

This is a definitely a fun place to go in Montreal! I find it amazing that people are still able to sing (solo or group), while interacting with everyone else. Get a bit drunk and go for it! The drinks are nice, the public is cool, the DJ is awesome (great singer btw)! Great place to get to know new people, both anglo/francophone.
Very rude. We moved aside to let people get out of the bar and the security guard refused to let us in because we were « acting drunk ». Did not know showing basic decency made you a drunk. No one in our party was drunk (or had even had a drink yet) 0/10 do not recommend!

Wonderful place to go sing in the city. Friendly staff and people. With inflation the prices went up a decent amount. Not too bad for the drinks except if you don't drink alcoholic drinks then you will be dishing out about 6$ for a soda which I think is quite the extortion of a price. Would come back to sing not to drink .
My problem was with the DJ,(the dj was a woman ) everyone played songs in all languages, but I looked at the fact that we were Latin and no matter how much we asked for songs in English or Spanish, he told us that he couldn't play them and he kicked us off the stage.

The DJ is awesome in putting the songs in the right order to get the ambiance going. Drinks are a fair price the seating is okay... waiters and waitresses are nice and fun. 10/10 would go again. And this is me with my best friend, we both enjoyed so much.
We are Latin, the two man in the entrance did not gave us a table, they said there were none but after us they pass two groups of white people. We asked one of the waiters and she was very nice and let us in. The place is nice but very local.
love the community vibe over here. drinks are probably watered down but thats fine because shots are only $4. really fun but takes a while for your song to come up, so id recommend requesting a song before you even get to the bar
Great selection of Karaoke songs and easy song submission process! The complementary uploaded videos of you singing is an extra fun feature! It gets super busy every night (rightly so) so go early if you want to be inside!
I actually have not been to this place, but the responses to negative comments from the owner are disgusting and unprofessional. I was considering going tonight, but I won’t give one dollar to such nasty people.
Went there in early afternoon. The bar tender had attitude. The only bar we went in Montreal that asked for more tip (money)

I think it is one of the best karaoke bar in Montreal, when we go with my friends there it is always fun even if we don't go on stage, generally all the songs people singing are the popular one !
Pay attention to the tip because the machine has a trick in tip selection and the minimum it accepts by default is high compared to the average in the city
