I feel like I’ve been to hell and back over the past year and a half. Allow me to share my experience with you in hopes that I can save you some pain, agony and money. I paid Nadine over $20,000 over the course of 1.5 years. Let me share with you my thoughts on the whole divorce process and selection of a family law attorney in California. Nadine is not an aggressive attorney and I’m sorry, but in divorce, you’re fighting for time in raising your kids and to protect your finances so that you have the financial means to raise your kids! About a year into my divorce process, after I had shelled out about $14K to Nadine, Nadine told me that the average cost of a divorce in San Diego county is about $30,000. That’s the AVERAGE cost. The reason that Nadine divulged this information to me was that one day she shocked me with a bill for $8,500 that she expected me to pay, on the spot. Anyhow...my ex-wife went to a high powered attorney at Yelman & Associates in San Diego. I understand that my ex-wife paid over $30K for her attorney. Let me tell you, that money was well worth it for her. If I could go back in time, I would hire a very high-power attorney who is ready and willing to execute an all-out frontal attack that will leave your opponent maimed for the rest of their natural life. I’m talking the type who will kick their opponent in the teeth when they’re already on the ground. There were times when I was dealing with “opposing counsel” (that’s legaleze for your ex-spouse and their attorney) where I literally felt like she had cut off my testicles and was feeding them to me and my family. This woman was BRUTAL. Every time I raised an objection she slapped both Nadine and I across the face with some legal code, leaving a mark in her wake. This woman that my ex-wife hired was TOUGH. I wanted some version of her on MY side. When I asked Nadine to “up the ante” with her, she responded “I don’t play that game.” Well fine, I guess I’ll suffer through this. What’s my other option? Fire Nadine and pay someone else to redo her work? Throughout the divorce process, I felt like I had to constantly stay on top of Nadine to keep the process moving along. Once she went MIA on me for over 3 weeks. I later found out from “opposing counsel” that she was dealing with family matters. Ok fine -- I get that. It would have been nice if she gave me an update. I have family issues with my kids that I must deal with but I’ll definitely notify my boss about it! I had multiple misunderstandings with Nadine from everything ranging to spousal and child support monies, to custody arrangements, to the final date of the divorce, to when I can pull the ex off of my insurance, how to argue a case, who is responsible for paying what -- you name it. Here’s the kicker: when it’s all said and done, she’s going to bill you $90 to send you a canned letter stating that she’s done with your case! My advice: if you stand to lose a lot in your divorce (e.g. time with your kids and you were the primary income earner and your ex-spouse earned an income radically less than yours) you’re going to pay at least $20K to get divorced. You should bite the bullet and pay $40K to someone who will obliterate your ex-spouse and protect you.

I'm writing this review because Nadine took my money and never finished her job. It all started 5 years ago. I had just went through the government trying to get child support and the government messed up the court hearing after a 2 1/2 year process. I used all my tax money and then some to hire Nadine to help me with the Child Support case. I had all the paperwork and everything from the government so her job should have been easy. Just get me a court date and we could get the ball rolling. She gave me an estimate of 3 months. Now my case was out of state, something new to her. I understand she had a learning curve but she took my money and said she could do it. Needless to say months and months went by, I hadn't even heard from her. I would often call her office and they would take weeks to get back to me. It's now 2 years later (Which by the way during those 2 years she had a child and was not available to me ever) After she finally got around to my case and I got the court date, I booked time off and got ready for this 5 year nightmare to be over with. What do you know I come to her office for my hearing (in Iowa, so it was over the phone) and she messed up the time and they cancelled the hearing!!!!!!!!! Now we had to get another court date (After she assured me I wouldn't be charged for her mistake) I BETTER NOT BE! Needless to say by the time I had another court date my teenagers father was due a summer visit. While on that visit she decided to stay with her father to try it out. I had to put the case on hold, Nadine told me OK! Let me know if it doesn't work out and we need to reschedule the court date. 5 months passed, I call her and SHE WANTS ANOTHER RETAINER FEE!!!! I am still in awe of what this women had the audacity to ask me for more money when she messed up the first court date and caused this whole train of events to unfold. SHE IS THE WORST LAWYER EVER, she took my money and didn't finish the job. USELESS!!! DO NOT HIRE HER!!! She will rip you off and waste your time.

Stop what you're doing right now and hire Nadine. She cares for her clients and goes above and beyond without nickel-and-diming you like other attorneys. Don't listen to the salty comments by people with impossible situations that didn't get unicorns and rainbows. Nadine is a knowledgeable attorney and has familiarity with the San Diego family court system and legal landscape, and she'll give it to you straight. I came to Nadine for consultation help while representing myself against one of the top attorneys in San Diego. I was like a baby playing chess against a grandmaster. Nadine gave stellar advice and her staff even helped out too! Now I was like a teenager against a grandmaster. After floundering in court I decided it was time to bring in the big guns; I hired Nadine to be attorney of record. Pit the grandmasters against each other! Nadine took the reigns on a difficult case with zeal and vigor. When the other side became self-represented, she took time out of her evenings to accommodate an unknowledgeable party and we were able to reach settlement. If I had hired any other attorney I don't believe we would have reached the outcome we did. Hire her!

I had a phenomenal experience with this law office! I was a newly made Navy Veteran, dealing with the aftermath of an abusive marriage, and trying to raise a 3 year old on my own as I looked for work and did school....and I didn't know who to turn to, to get everything squared away with my divorce. Nadine not only gave me sound advice on how to handle my divorce, but also was very patient with my stressing over the process. I was also pregnant with my second child, and needed reassurances frequently. Although the process can take months, Nadine went above and beyond to keep track of my case in the system; even while pregnant herself! The receptionists were always kind, patient, and knowledgeable. I always felt welcome when I went in, and it is a kid friendly environment! My oldest was always handled appropriately when I brought him with. I'm happy to say that I was awarded custody of both my children, who are safe, happy, and flourishing in their new environment! Nadine truly cares about children and what is best for them. If you need help, this is the place to go!

Nadine and her "assistant", Atirra, are LIARS.The last few months, she has not handled my case in the hopes the I would hire another attorney. Well, it worked. She actually had her office phone # disconnected from my phone #. I had other people call her office and the office answered. Previously, she would not return my calls or e mails. Why not just tell me to get a new lawyer? Because ethically, a lawyer is supposed to take the case to it's conclusion. Well, Nadine, congratulations, you fired me. She even had a final bill ready even though she had no idea I was going to see her and ask about the phone. This happened, yesterday, September 25, 2015. BTW, Nadine gave me my entire file...with another client's paperwork in it!!!!!! If your last name is Guenther, you should ask Nadine about the contents of your file. I wonder what is missing from mine. I would like to choose no "stars" for Nadine. Potential clients be warned!

The divorce process can be very confusing, especially during the whole COVID pandemic. I was having trouble reaching the court and getting an answer anywhere. Luckily, I found Nadine and her team. They took over my case and handled everything. They kept me very well informed during the process and in no time my divorce was finalized. The team is honest, knowledgeable, and respectful. They made the process less stressful and allowed me to focus on my hectic work schedule. Thank You Nadine & team!!! I highly recommend Nadine and her services. They are available when you need them the most!

I will openly admit that I’m a pain. I’m also out of state. Nadine, Atira and Jennifer go above and beyond to answer your questions. I called Nadine’s office on Monday 7/25, to see if I could possibly get in to see her for advice. I was desperate for help with divorce documents. I tried to get assistance at the Superior Court with FLF (Family Law Facilitators), I was told to visit their website and signup for a workshop:( Nadine was able to see me on Tuesday, 7/26, she reviewed my documents and I was on my way.
