"Great place for a family or group outing"
One of my favorite parks to visit as a kid and happy to make new memories with my kids these days. Long gone are the "carny style" rides, but there are 2 play areas, a splash pad, beach volleyball court, picnic tables and pavillion, washrooms, ashphalt walking trails, beautiful views of Lake Ontario and a boatlaunch. A great place to spend the day with the family.
Playground
The park has two play areas. The one in the northern part of the park is more of a typical neighbourhood park play structure with a wood chip base. The other, next to the splashpad has a few more options for the kids. I prefer to let my 3yr old play on the northern area as the other gets quite busy with bigger/older kids.
Restrooms
I don't remember ever having to use the restrooms at the park so I can't attest to cleanliness. However they are there if nature calls you.
Picnic area
There is a large pavillion with ample space and tables for use. There are several picnic tables located throughout the park as well.
Lake Ontario Park was a great destination for a relaxing day. The picturesque lake views were stunning, and the park offered ample space for picnics and outdoor activities. The walking trails were well-maintained, making it enjoyable to explore the area. However, some additional recreational facilities or food options within the park would have been a nice addition. Despite that, the peaceful atmosphere and natural beauty make it a wonderful place to unwind and connect with nature.
Be careful it can get very busy very quickly when it is warm outside. Nice walking paths and good water park.

There are so many views to appreciate from lake Ontario Park. Lots of picnic tables to sit and have a bite and appreciate the view. A splash pad for the kiddos, good spot for parasailing, and can also choose to go for a long walk along the water, all the way downtown. Great place to bring a book and read. Well kept.
Beautiful park that has been renovated by the city. Nice walking paths, lots of green space, benches, and picnic tables. There are even some charcoal BBQs to use, just bring your own charcoal. Awesome splash pad for kids and other play structures as well. Public washrooms are available and there's ample parking.
Great place to have a picnic. Picnic tables are available by the side of water with barbecue stands for use. Public washrooms also available with water fountain (was broken when we visited though). Great play area for kids with a park and splash pads. Good place for a swim if the water is not too choppy.

Lake Ontario has beautiful views throughout the year. In the summer, you can see its blue waters and sandy beaches. In autumn, the colorful leaves create a stunning sight. In winter, the frozen lake looks magical. It's a peaceful and lovely place to visit.
Very beautiful and scenic, we stopped off on our way to Downtown Kingston Ont. Trails are safe to walk or just sit and admire. There is a playground for children which is great. There is a portable toilet on site, very dog friendly and perfect for picnics.
Beautiful, big park. There are BBQ's that you can use, and picnic tables. There is a washroom, with a changing room, and shower. There is a water park, play park, and people also swim in the lake. It is a beautiful walk between the harbour, and the park.
A terrific location. Lots of shade from old growth trees, splash pad, swings and climber equipment for the kids, and two bathroom buildings. Longhouse pavilion provides plenty of cover, and there are some sandy areas down the stairs at the waterfront.
Nice park, with lots of free parking. Paved trails, easy to walk. There is a decent sized splash pad.

Dog friendly, must be on leash.
Picnic area
Huge picnic area, covered.
Beautiful kept park with Lake Ontario beach. There are sand box like area for kids to play in the sand near the water. You can go swimming as it's clear but it's rocky near the shore so if you have water shoes, it's best if you wear them. I
This the one of the best parks I have ever visited in Ontario. There are lots of parking available and very nice place to walk and enjoy the lake view. I had visited the park during my Kingston visit and hopefully will visit again this year.
Excellent park experience. Big trees, maintained grassy areas, benches, picnic tables, beach volleyball, kids' playground, paved trail, dogs splashing in the water. A ton of photo ops to be had. Clean washrooms, too. Parking is on gravel.
This is a beautiful park and very clean! (More garbage cans are really needed though). This park sets the example for other parks in the city of Kingston. The other parks in Kingston are awful (City Park the exception--again needs more
Nice area for groups. Swimming is a bit "meh". If your lucky, it'll be fine, but today wasn't super great. My girlfriend is currently trying to hose off all the algae.. also wear water shoes or sandals. The rocks are killer on your feet
This place should be a must visit on your trip to Kingston. Though it is a lake, on a windy day it will ensure you feel closer to an ocean! The access to the lake is safe and perfect for seasoned swimmers. Simple yet beautiful! …
Kingston did well with this park. Abundant in mature trees, paved walking paths, benches and picnic tables for when you get tired or hungry. Splash pad and other amenities for the kids. Peaceful sitting looking out over Lake Ontario.
A gem of a park in Kingston with long paved path along the waterfront. Having washrooms, snack bar, boat launch, picnic areas and a volleyball court, it would be worth spending the day here with the family. Very scenic and relaxing.
Nice, big park to walk or bike through. It is lovely to sit and have a picnic in as well, with a great view of the lake all along the waterfront. There are a couple steep hills that I had to walk or take very slowly on my bike.
Beautiful park. Swimming is possible, but only off of piers/rocky beaches. There's a boat launch, a few public bathrooms, and of course a scenic view of lake Ontario. Oh! There's a big splash pad, too. Good for young children!
Lake ontario park is unique park with inclusive space for all regardless of age, race and color in kingston with wide view of lake and water breeze I recommend it to everyone who love cool and relaxing quiet environment
Beautiful place to do some work out, walk, ride a bike, yoga, make a BBQ or a picnic. Also you can swimm into the lake, take a lot of pictures and feed the squirrels! Enjoyable with some family and friends!
Lake Ontario park is located at the south end of the lake in Kingston.. absolutely love this place. Lots of walking . Kids play ground. water park for the little ones ..peaceful with lots of serenity..
Great park. Clean & so pretty . We love it here . Only problem is the amount of DOG OWNERS WITH THEIR DOGS OFF LEASH! Running around up to people, & leaving the dog mess behind . LEASH YOUR DOGS !!!
Loved visiting this pretty park. The boat launch is very easy to use and is accessible for large and small boats. The view is gorgeous! Lots of room to walk and play. Kids will love the play area.
Love this park. Beautiful walking trails. Places to have picnics with the family. There is a nice playground and splash pad too. Great place to come on a hot day. Oh, there is also a boat launch.
They redid the park a few years ago. I thought it was great before, it's even better now. Such a nice place to walk around. Never too too busy which is nice, too. Beautiful right by the water.
Had a nice walk - mostly along the water - through this park. Good trails, and even in March it was quite pretty - will be great in the summer! In testing to go past the old penitentiary too.
The park is indeed very beautiful and scenic. Well maintained. We went to Kingston and stopped there for an hour. Lot of trails to walk/bike ride. Kids play area and beaches to relax.
This park is a good place to play boats, the scenery is beautiful, there are some seats for rest, picnics, and you can eat while looking at the beautiful scenery of Lake Ontario.
Really nice walking/cycling path with a beautiful view. Plenty of places to sit and take in the view, lots of free parking. Beautiful place to go and appreciate Lake Ontario.
I went to this beautiful lake side park to share in an ecumenical service and a picnic on Sunday. Sang and meditated and ate and played a few games if croquet with my mother!
I think this is a good chill spot in Kingston, if you have time you should come here. Theres a nice trail along the lakeside. A lot of spots to sit down and enjoy the breeze.
My kids love the splash pad here and there are almost always others there to play with. The little play park there has a good variety of different activities they can do.
What a place . Its always refreshing to come and hang out at this place . Whenever we visit kingston, this is the place to be . Not a crowded place at all and best views
Calm place, Refreshes mind. Best for evening and morning outings for family, freinds, couples. Pet freindly. But has some may flys towards lake side during may.
Very beautiful, well maintained, paved and the lake view never disappoints. Never had an issue finding a parking spot and it is a nice place to take your dog.
Beautiful park, it has a big picnic area and splash pods, also the park is part of the Rideau Trail and also a beach, you can also do many outdoor activities
City of Kingston does a great job looking after this park. And the dog owners that day had a good grip on their dogs, thus being respectful of others.
Free parking, has restrooms, picnic areas, and a paved path that goes all along the lake.
Dog-friendliness
On leash, but a great place to walk.
Boat launch was good, but very little docking available and a tight spot to turn around.
Restrooms
Restrooms were clean and offered showers
Wonderful park! One of the best in kingston. It has a nice splash pad and two good sized play structures! Also excellent views of lake ontario
Lovely place for kids and pets. Great There is a swing, splash pad, volleyball area, picnic area and slides. Can do walking or jogging.
One of the best places to run to combine the challenge of hills, uneven terrain, stairs and the peacefulness of being near the water.
Nice park for a waterfront walk. Lots of kite boarders today taking advantage of the wind. There is also a splash pad and BBQ area.
It was even more outstanding when the Wannemacher's had the Rides there. The boys just loved it for birthday's and just any day.
Really nice park probably one of my favourites so far in Kingston. It’s waterfront and has a beautiful landscape/environment.
It is a beautiful place, really big. Good for walking, jogging, running, biking and it have a little park for the kids!
Very well maintained, calm and friendly environment. Beach Volleyball court had some of the most friendly individuals.
What a fantastic outdoor experience. Activities and fun for the whole family and for all age and physical abilities.
Still a great place to visit. Take a walk. Play with your kids. Walk the dog. Some awsome old trees growing here.
I love a peaceful place with breezy view of beautiful waves and Lake Ontario Park, Kingston happens to be one.
Breathtaking views. Lots of parking and lots of space. Clean washrooms and a splash pad. Well maintained area.
Great park for all your outdoor activities. Fun place for kids as well. Loved it and highly recommend it.
Nice park well maintained, lots of space with shadow, with a water playground for kids, free parking
Only complaint was the water was a little shallow in. Boat launch but other than that was awesome
So peaceful and pretty. Grabbed lunch and ate by the water with Mum and sis. Beautiful place!
Beautiful park lots of parking, Beautiful water front, BBQ playground and splash pad
Very beautiful park, lot of parking and it's free. Stunning view of Lake Ontario!
Beautiful spot. The splash pad isn't the best but it's entertaining for toddlers
Beautiful walking trails, a little garden, and nice rocky areas by the water!
Beautiful and peaceful place to enjoy a picnic and time with your loved ones.
Always enjoy the park for it's spacious boundaries and very human friendly.
