Julia's is a gem within San Antonio’s restaurant scene! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with a smile by Ernesto who seated us in a great corner spot up front, where Carlos took over and looked after for us throughout. The atmosphere was perfect with comfortable seating and local artwork adding to the charm. The happy hour cocktails were a steal at just $6 each and tasted amazing - the Old Fashioned and Lavender Lemonade were delightful. The Escargot Bourguignon was rich and flavorful, setting the tone for the fantastic meal ahead. For our entrees, we tried the Duck Confit and Steak Frites, both of which were excellent. The dishes were perfectly prepared and left us completely satisfied. To end on a sweet note, we savored a delightful Creme Brûlée. The attentive and friendly staff, led by Ernesto and Carlos, made our experience even more memorable. We were so impressed that we treated them to a six-pack on our check! If you're looking for a comfortable spot with great food, drinks, and service, Julia's is the place to go. It's definitely worth the trip, even if it's off the beaten path. We're already planning to return for their top-notch brunch. Don't miss out on this wonderful dining experience!

Unfortunately, our visit was not as good as previous experiences. While the food is still great, more than one item was cold when delivered to our table. Our server, Holly, was overworked and let us know she had too many tables to serve (which I agreed and is not fair to her or the diners). While I thought the service was good, her attitude was not. Normally, I would bring it up to the manager but Holly was listed as the manager on the receipt so I feel certain actions need to be noted publicly: She routinely “cut us off” when speaking and roughly told one diner to wait to order. When questioned about the price of a charge on the ticket, her snotty reply was “you didn’t ask” not knowing that I never saw a menu (and unfortunately took her suggestion). She also seemed annoyed when others joined the table and a few of us ordered pizzas from the place next door [SoHill Café] which Julia’s allows. Our group will be back and I’m sure Julia’s will continue to receive great reviews as it really is a great restaurant. However, some of us will be sitting on the SoHill side LOL I wish Holly the best and hope she gets additional staff and a much-needed people skills development plan to help her grow and succeed in her role.

So easy to make reservations. Trendy but not pretentious. Holly was an amazing server. I had the barbacoa eggs Benedict. What a delish twist on a classic. It got cold fast but was still wrapped in YUM. My friend had the migas from the starter choices, so expect smallish. My friend said it was great. They also added bacon. Every table around us was taking advantage of the mimosas. They looked great! The acoustics may not be to everyone's taste, a bit loud. If you sit by the door you will be exposed to the outside weather. So if its not to your liking... Get another mimosa and power through

10 STARS!!!!!!!! My pals have been boasting about this restaurant for months and I finally had the pleasure of experiencing this fine establishment. RUN, do not walk here. The French fries are perfectly seasoned, with just the right amount of dipping sauce. The happy hour was very delightful as they do have a nice little bar area (get the lavender lemonade) ;) I was torn on what to order but chose the Lamb shank birria and I could have died a happy woman after that meal. The lamb was tender, juicy, and had just the right amount of seasoning, paired with roasted potatoes, and all the typical street taco fixings. Their salads are incredibly mouth watering, and I am not a salad girl so that's saying something. The French onion soup is also very sexy. You can't go wrong here and you need to go now.

This is my second time coming here. The first was excellent. This time not so much. My sister and I ordered the fried quail legs. When we got it there was literally a piece of hair in the skin. So obviously someone is back in the kitchen not wearing a hair net. The manager never came over and spoke to our table. When my sister and I were finished eating I felt like we were rushed to pay our bill. We didn’t even ask for it and the waiter comes over and drops it off and says no rush. Also we were charged for the quail hair legs. You would think since they don’t have a lot of customers they would provide excellent service to the ones that do come.

Nice cozy place for brunch. Our service was very good she was kind attentive knowledgeable of menu and made recommendations based on what we mentioned of interest. French Toast YUMMM. I can only say I wanted more! Same with the crepes I wasn't sure that it would do much since i think of crepes i envision light and more of a thin wrap. The flavors were spot on and a good breakfast option. Spinach was perfect with the mushroom and the light taste of parm. We cant fail to mention the $15 krafe for the mimosas or champagne bottle since we had with guava juice peach pineapple. ( also avail was cranberry and orange juices) price point was spot on. We will be back soon!

Came for Happy hour stayed for the amazing atmosphere. Jason the bartender makes some of the best drinks I’ve had in a long time and the food was otherworldly I had to stop myself from scraping the plate. The mussels with homemade bread by Chef Carlton is a must try they also have raw oysters and we were lucky enough to come when they had pork belly wraps on special. And a special thank you to Daniel who brought us out a birthday dessert which I would highly recommend saving room for they have a phenomenal house made cheesecake. Will definitely recommend and return.

This is a very fine bar and bistro. The pizza was very good and the service was excellent. This is not your typical San Antonio eatery. It's quite eclectic and a very unique dining experience.

Every time I eat at Julia’s I think, “This is an excellent restaurant. I should eat here more frequently.” Last evening I dined with friends and we all loved our dinners. I had the arugula salad with beets, blue cheese vinaigrette (crazy delicious) with salmon. We ordered a couple of desserts to share. The chocolate mousse is a must try. This place is a treasure.

Too many flies. Counted like at least 10 flies on the window by me in the corner. Came for happy hour and an early dinner. Old fashioned was ok not great. Fries were meh on the happy hour menu. Best thing on the menu was the fried quail eggs. Risotto was good not anything impressive. Expected a little more from this place after hearing some decent things. Menu is probably priced a tad too high. Maybe like 5-7 dollars more than it should be for each item.

Times I've Visited - 3 Food 3/5 Escargot was a 5. Ordered the salmon risotto there times and each time it was too salty to enjoy. Friend ordered their shrimp salad and same thing with the shrimp. Environment 5/5 - Dim with sunlight creeping through when it's not evening time. Price 4/5 Plates are a la carte and average around 20 -30. Service 5/5 Can't think of anything they could have done better. Was attentive, orders were right.. all the usual expected service. : )

We initially went for our anniversary this past December. Although the service was not the best, the food was spectacular. So when some friends from out of town asked to go somewhere good, we suggested Julia’s. The server was ok, but what was really disappointing was the food. I don’t know what happened, maybe it was an off night, but the food was all under seasoned and bland. We were really disappointed. We will probably try it one more time to see.

Outstanding dining experience. Food was phenomenal and presentation made it such an amazing experience. Service impeccable and spot on. Everyone raved about their entrees. I adored my succulent Lamb Shank and steak was highly praised by both diners. Pork dish stunning. Highly recommend for a gastro experience like no other!

Exactly what the Others Say—a Great Place for a Delicious Brunch; Prices are Reasonable; Portions are Big; Service is Great & Accommodating; and food is Super-Tasty! A small selective brunch menu but still a good variety to choose from; great Mimosa Prices; and even surprises on the menu! Limited Parking so maybe commute together; but don’t miss-out as this is definitely a Great Place to try out for Wonderful Brunch Experience!

5 stars...PERIOD! It was my 1st time here. I ordered the escargot and mushroom risotto. Both were absolutely delicious! Piping hot to the table which is a great sign! I also ordered a classic Martini. It was on point. The ambiance, mood and atmosphere was perfect. It's a cozy relaxed place. I had a great experience! I'll be coming back again! come check them out for yourself! Advanced Reservation recommended.

Wow! Just wow! Excellent food and wonderful staff! As a former service industry worker, it was inspiring to see everyone work together during the brunch service. The entire team did a wonderful job. Went to dinner here for a double date. Everything we had was delicious!! Would recommend it all. Had the oysters, spicy truffle fries (very light on truffle), escargot, duck and scallops. We finished with the bread pudding for dessert. We also tried the old fashioned, blood orange cosmo, the lavender cocktail - really delicious! And some good wine. Can’t wait to go back!

Definitely a fun brunch spot that you should check off your list! Mimosa bottle service is affordable with more than the standard oj for juice options. We got peach and mango, yum. The veggie tostadas were so delicious. My other two plates weren’t what I was expecting but yummy nonetheless. Overall chill vibes. I’d be happy to go back.

I visited this business establishment yesterday with my girlfriend. And I was truly impressed with the cuisine, atmosphere, and service! Dan is the manager and provided an excellent experience! A complimentary bottle of champagne is offered between 11 am to 12! The Brioche French toast is delicious and the steak and eggs are great. Tried hollandaise sauce for the first time which is pretty good!

Since the owner assumed my review was based on price (in SA?? Never), I’m adding some more detail: The food was beyond average, the waiter was untrained and we were chasing him all night, and the beef pasta dish was the saltiest meal I’ve had all year. French for those who haven’t had French food before.

Reservation is required so that told us it should be really good. We were a party of three. Ordered three different dishes and all were not worth the money. I ordered eggs Benedict which were very bland and the Canadian bacon was tough. The coffee tasted like warm water. Definitely do not recommend.

Their Fren-Mex fusion is spot on, thanks to our server Jonathan he suggested the escargot toast, stuffed pork loin; we added duck street tacos and lamb chili relleno + apple dumpling with smoked cheddar ice cream ...all good choices ( highly recommend). Plenty of choices, too steep for me tho …
