John Nodes Kensal Rise Our experience with John Nodes Kensal Rise was to arrange the most fitting burial for our mother. It was very important for both me and my sister. On arrival at their premises we were greeted by a young woman who had the most warmest persona and pleasing smile. Her name is Bernadette. She is the most perfect person needed to help anyone lay their dearest to rest. Bernadette kept us in peace, in smiles, her attention to detail, her wealth of experience, her caring appropriate pace and attitude and mindfulness was just absolutely perfect. Bernadette is the most appropriate person who helped us choose the right send off for our mum. Everything she suggested and did for us, after deliberation, was the right choice. Myself and my sister actually miss our meetings with her. John Nodes should be very proud and aware that they actually employ the most rarest jewel in their business, their first port of call, Bernadette. The kind, warm, professionalism that we found in Bernadette has helped the memory of our most precious mother a very positive memory we will always cherish, share and remember all of our lives. We had a very high standard funeral during the lockdown, thanks to Bernardeth expertise, quick thinking and her great heart. Bernadeth gave a personal touch in everything and took my problems to her heart. Bernadeth was Outstanding. To me she was my Guardian Angel. She was ever so kind, extremely patient and manage to overcome every obstacle during the arrangements, to make sure that my wishes were granted. I do not think that I was able to achieve what I had planned without her. My brother in law had passed away from Covid-19 and there were restrictions taking place for the funeral but Bernadeth with kindness manage to accommodate every details according to my wishes, including replacing a priest for the one who would carried out the funeral according to my requirement. Change the Order of Services to include my requests in it, spending a great deal of time with me to make sure that every details was done properly according to my instruction. As a result, my brother in law had the most dignified funeral and it was so beautiful. I take my hat to Bernardeth, I vote for her as the Professional of the Year. I have nothing but utter admiration for the way that Bernadette helped my family organise my late brother's funeral. From the start, Bernadette explained with complete professionalism the process of arranging the funeral. With very clear instructions and with great care and affection, she made us feel so comfortable and valued, that we left the office and knew that everything would be taken care of. Her constant update of events and checking up on us, and how we were coping was priceless and just made us feel so welcomed and cared for. Any adjustments that were made by us, were never a problem for them, and they accommodated us and saw to our needs with great understanding. Shane and his team on the day were brilliant - nothing was too much trouble for them. We were treated with the utmost dignity and respect and were made to feel special considering our loss. Needless to say, the day went extremely well and everything went to plan. Because of the immaculate planet by Bernadette, Shane and the team, we were left to enjoy a great and memorable day. my husband passed away due to the Covid 19 and all of the funeral directors i had rung did not seem right as we were unable to go in so only had their voices to go on and they all sounded Impersonal and i felt it was just business to them, my friend recommended John Nodes and as soon as I heard Bernadette's voice I felt at ease she showed concern on my well being was patient and a great source of knowledge in what was a harrowing task for me in fact all of them were amazing and took my wishes seriously going above and beyond still considering the restrictions that are in place and they always treated my husband with dignity.On the Day Shane was so kind and gentle in dealing with my distress and family and friends all the time still maintaining dignity and respect and it didn't seem like just a job it seemed that they shared are pain as well the day went really well and everyone has commented on how beautiful the service was Bernadette also checked in on me the next day to see how I was so thank you John Nodes ,Kensal Rise from the bottom of our hearts

From the first hello, Bernadette has been nothing but heartening, compassionate, patient and empathetic. Bernadette and her team have shown a consistent level of professionalism that made a painful process of planning a funeral; something I have never done before, that much more comfortable to take on. No question was a silly question; some got answered before being asked! The John Nodes team treated my grandmother with such dignity and grace as a family; we are forever thankful. Bernadette guided my cousin in such a dignified way when it was time to do my grandma’s makeup and hair. She made this honourable process, one my cousin said she would be forever humbled to have done. On the day, the team treated the family with respect and compassion, knowing how difficult a time it was. Seeing a smiling face on such a sad time meant a lot. Having lost our dear brother, Mattie, we were very anxious and dreading arranging his funeral. Bernadette the funeral director put us at ease straight away. She was genuinely interested in hearing about our brother. She was both sympathetic and professional. She did not rush us in making our choices. We were not familiar with the area, Bernadette was able to recommend a minister to perform the funeral service. This was very helpful to us. A funeral is always a sad time and for us it was particularly so but Bernadette helped to make this very painful and terrible experience so much easier. From our first meeting, we found Bernadette to be extremely caring, sensitive and compassionate. She helped us arrange an appropriate funeral service and showed us how we could do what we felt was right for our loved one. My Dad was the manager of this office from 1976 to the early '80's, they was a very friendly team. I know it is from a long time ago but this is a traditional old school business with old school values from the head office down. Nice to see most of the shop front has stayed the same. Including the doors and especially the clock.
