We took our dog here as he was having trouble breathing. We were told to let them have a look and see what was going on and to return in an hour to get a progress report. We went up the road to tesco and got a drink and back within 30 mins. After a 5 minute wait we were told we put him down I'm terribly sorry. Now 30 mins before he was struggling to breath but wasn't on the verge of death and now he's been put down. It makes me sick to my stomach that we dropped him off and he was put down alone and without his family there to be there for his comfort so he didn't die with strangers around him. No phone call, no text just a half hearted apology when we returned. We said we were going to the shop so we could have been back within 5 mins to be there for him. On top of that when we got to see his body they hadn't even taken the plastic tube that was lodged down his throat out. We had to see him dead, laying on a table with a breathing apparatus sticking out of his mouth like it was too much work to take it out for our sake. Oh then to add insult to injury we were charged around £300 for the privilege of having our dog of 13 years put down with no notice and without knowing exactly how he died. I still believe that they done something to cause him to die suddenly otherwise why not inform us what was going to happen. My advice after this would be don't come here. And if you absolutely have to then don't leave and make it clear that if any major decision is to be made then it gets made with your prior knowledge.

When selecting a vet, you always hope to find one that treats your beloved pet as if they were their own, and we truly feel we have found that in Natasha at Joel Street Veterinary Clinic in Ruislip. She has treated all our dogs with the utmost care and attention throughout their lives, as well as respect and dignity when their time with us has reached an end. This is the sad situation we found ourselves in the day after the 2018 Christmas break, when our 14-year-old golden labrador - Charlie - made it known that he was readying himself for his forever sleep. It was a very difficult time for our family, yet Natasha and her colleague Emma were outstanding, both in terms of their medical knowledge, their empathy and the support they provided. They allowed us to spend as much time as we needed saying our goodbyes to Charlie, while ensuring his journey from this life to the next was as smooth and peaceful as possible. The pair of them really are a credit to the entire Joel Street Veterinary Clinic team, who we thank from the bottom of our hearts for all the love, care and support they have shown us and our pets over the years.

Even 1 star is too much. Appalling service. The practice manager is incredibly rude. My cat has been on the Healthy Pet Club for 3 years meaning he gets all his vaccines and worming included. On two occasions we have been charged an additional consult fee when being vaccinated. There are always made up charges and they charge up to £30 more than other local vets for their services. Barring one lovely young lady on reception all the reception staff are rude too. One even stated taking us to debt collectors for a £50 consultation fee, after I refused to pay the fee when he was in for his annual vaccine included in his monthly Healthy Pet Club package. The vets claim they advise consult fees prior to treating as well as costs for medication but they don't always so often people get a shock when they receive a bill after their animals have been in. So awful that a busy practice lies so much. Signed up to Goddard Vets where the team is so lovely and my cat is very well looked after.

Gave this vets 5 stars 3 years ago and have now made the difficult decision to move to a different vet. Up until recently I have found them to be very kind, caring and professional. I don't know whether it is just a problem with a new particular vet, or a general problem due to covid measures, but I felt that I was not being listened to and my concerns weren't being taken as seriously as they should be. I phoned another vet at a different practice to get a second opinion and the way she interacted with me and understood the issues seemed instinctive. So I'm moving my cat there. A massive issue to consider with this vet is the out of hours cover. It's in Northolt.... not particularly local. If your animal needs overnight care you need to collect him from Joel street, take him to northolt, and vice versa in the morning. Not good.

We recently brought in my cat to get a second opinion and more local treatment due to how ill he was. The treatment at Joel's was great, the vets were all kind and helpful within the limitations of our overstretched budget as best as they could be. Whilst it certainly wasn't "cheap" (what vet is?) They did help as much as they could despite a range of inconclusive tests. Our boy has made a hearty recovery so far and seems to be almost back to fighting fit after being close to death a week ago. We are broke, and will be for many months to come, but we are grateful for someone time with our awesome little buddy, fingers crossed whatever poisoned him doesn't do it again. Thanks all.

Receptionist doesn't have any social skills. Manager Andrea is sarcastic and tried to make me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. I asked to speak to someone with a senior position.again rude and no help. My cat left with a lump under chin straight after injection. Went in today and got charged £42 for 2 minute consultation for an absence! They didn't even clean the wound. All in all I paid £62 for a 2 minute job with rude front desk behaviour with a rude manager to boot. Awful experience. My cat king joffrey is now sleeping and has a lovely clean wound due to us at home... just thought id let all you true animal lovers know

Appalling service. All we wanted to do was register our new puppy, the practice couldn’t even be bothered to call us back, despite being promised a call back via email message. Shame, as we’ve being using the practice for almost 15 years with our previous dogs, and always had a good service. Standard have obviously slipped. I will be taking our puppy elsewhere. I can’t recommend this practice anymore.

Cat had kidney stones. They took blood and said it was very worrying and I should bring cat to emergency clinic. £1000 later clinic said nothing was wrong and blood work was fine. Went back to Joel's and they said their blood machine was not working properly. No offer to reimburse part of the £1000 I spent for their error- no apology. Terrible uncaring group only out for the money.

I have been with this vets practice for many years now and I find the staff, for the most, friendly and helpful. The monthly pet scheme they run is an excellant way to spread the cost of the annual jabs etc over the year. Always seem to take very good care of the animals. I also like that this is a small independent vets.

  • Nathan Darcy

The staff are so lovely, friendly and caring. They've taken good care of my 3 cats and my dog. But it's really difficult trying to communicate regarding flea and worming treatment and what we need. It gives the impression they don't have those things on record because we often have to tell them what we require.

  • Holly Gibson

We've only had a few visits to Joel's for vaccines and neutering - each time has been professional, clean, and very welcoming. Ms Puddifoot made us feel at home and comfortable with our dog. Free and easy parking is a bonus! Plus the prices are competitive. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

  • Trisha Soneji

Lovely vet, excellent covid safe service! We took our rescue cat here to get her starter injections as this was the vet the shelter was registered with. It's a shame its slightly too far from home to stay with, otherwise it would be a no brainer! Would 100% reccomend if you live nearby

  • Matthew Bulat

Very helpful staff. Never had any issues with them they take their job very seriously, I always get some advice regarding my pet. If you drive there is parking outside of the clinic. It is close to Northwood hill station, and 282 bus stop is just opposite of the clinic.

  • Mary Butler

Just had both of our cats go through their annual check up and vaccinations. Very covid safe procedures are in place, while maintaining the usual high standards of care and communication. We have been with this practice for many years and would not go anywhere else.

  • Laura Tizzard

The staff are wonderful and couldn't do more to ensure the health and happiness of the animals they see. We've been with Joel Street vets for nearly 20 years and have always been looked after well. I'd recommend them to anyone looking for excellent pet care.

  • Harsa Beagley

Great clinic. Was recommended to us and has proven to be a great choice. All the staff we have met are very friendly and helpful. Our cat recently had an operation and she was very well looked after. Would highly recommend

  • Jamie Barton

The vets and staff here are amazing. You can tell they genuinely love what they do. Whilst my cat hates his carrier, once he is out and with the vets he is instantly at ease. So much care is taken by all staff here!

  • Warren Bell

Professional, empathetic staff and top notch facilities. Sadly my last trip was to euthanise my cat but they were all brilliant and supportive, even though I was late. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

  • S K

An excellent clinic. Animal welfare is always prioritised, whether for treatment or general check ups. I don't have to worry about my rabbits when I leave them in the safe hands of this practice.

  • Eirwen Smith

Very compassionate and understanding. We and our cat, which had to be put to sleep through old age, were treated very sympathetically and with great kindness. Thank you Saskia.

  • Deer Bones

Always the most caring and thoughtful staff. The receptionists are friendly and attentive. If treatment is recurring you only pay consultation fees on the first appointment.

  • Nigel Beejay

This practice can look after small animals. My experience was very positive with caring staff with great attitudes. I really felt that sense of care.....

  • The man Of the hour

They are the best vets around. They looked after my dog throughout his whole life and gave him the kindest send off. The nurses are very professional.
