The name of the place is "Pekařství v Dušní" (Bakery in Dušní street). One of my favorite bakeries in Prague. Very tasty pastry and snacks. Affordable prices even for locals, esp. considering the location - it's just a few meters away from the Old Town Square. The staff are nice. They don't speak English; just point at what you want, they will try to understand. They have the best "chlebíčky" - a Czech must-try delicacy. (It's a special kind of fine bread garnished with various spreads, salami, eggs, cheese, vegetables etc.). Unfortunately, they only have one vegetarian type of chlebíček. There are a few tables where you can eat and drink "na stojáka" (no chairs). Important note: Ideally, you need to come in the morning or by 12 pm to experience the full offer. In the afternoon some items may sell out...

A fantastic bakery so close to the touristy old town square but unknown to tourists. After a superb first visit, I ended up visiting two more times during my stay as the food here is that good. All that I tried (ranging from slices of cake to bread to sandwiches) were so delicious. The bakery is also extremely cheap - much cheaper than the other bakeries I have visited during my trip - and is always filled with locals. The employees here don't really speak English, so just point and ask for what you want and they will accommodate.

TERRIBLE PEOPLE TERRIBLE SERVICE If you are a curious foodie tourist, you will be very disappointed I was just there and one of the ladies was absolutely rude to me. I even tried to use a translator to overcome the language barrier but she didn't even care what I had to ask about pastries and just wanted me to order alrwady. And I was there during non-rush hour and there was just one other customer. I wanted buy a few pastries given their reviews but I just bought one and I am glad I just got one because it was terrible.

Really happy with this place. Went for a run on the river then needed something easy for breakfast, and was craving something sweet - and traditional Czech, since it's my first time in the country. The employee didn't speak much English but still took time to educate me in what's traditional, & helped me choose. I ended up with a koláč that had apple chunks & was delicious, and tomorrow I'll be going back for a savory one to end my trip.

Great bakery close to the centre of the old town. Seems to be not that touristy, which is surprising given the location. We can here twice during our stay to get some sweet treats. For about 40 czk you can get two or three delicious items. The savoury items looked good too. Everything nwe had was delicious. There are a few stand up tables but it's more of a takeaway place. Highly recommended

We saw this place in one of the Honest Guide's videos so wanted to give it a try while in Prague. The open sandwiches and the traditional Czech pastries they sell are all so delicious and super affordable. If you are looking for a simple breakfast or a late morning snack and you are around Old Town Square, don't skip this place. You will not regret!

  • Thibault Tournesol

The chlebicky were okay, not really amazing but it fills you pretty good. The service was awful, until this place I experienced friendly service with smiling people but this place was the contrary. You seem to annoy them and they look at you in a strange way. Give it a try anyway if you want, maybe you'll get lucky and find them in a good mood.

While I don't speak too much Czech and they don't speak too much English, we certainly got by just fine with just pointing. These ladies are very efficient so there's a constant flow of customers being served. The food tastes amazing at a great price point. I recommend one of the open faced sandwiches or any of their Kolaches!

  • Alex Siamantas

It's a nice bakery. Very decent prices and good products. There was a big variety to choose from, savory and sweet. We tasted four different things and they were quite nice. Given the opportunity, i will come again to try the rest. To the pros, it's located in the old town, so it was easy going there as a tourist.

  • Christopher Lee

We almost had everything here if we didnt leave. Everything we tried is new and taste amazing! From texture to flavour. Not sure if they spoke English but pointing and showing the credit cards work. And thats universal language haha. Theres alot of tourist here i think from the walking tour? But also locals!

  • Henrique V.

Great prices, and interesting Czech food. I wasn't too much of a fan of the food temperature as a whole. I had the Chlebíček open sandwich and an apple kolač (the latter of which was delicious). But for people who are more used to it, it should be very good with fair pricing.

  • Emily Channon

Really delicious bakery, very cheap and close to old town! I visited twice for my favourite poppy seed, cheese and raspberry Kolachee... Just don't expect the staff to speak any English or be particularly helpful if you can't communicate well in Czech...

  • Petr

First of all the actual name of this place is Pekařství v dušní. Prices are great here & it’s close to the Old town square and the service is kind. I recommend you to try “CHLEBÍČEK”. It’s czech sandwich, you’ll probably love it:) check out the photos

An incredible experience with this place, we went there because of the Hones Guide on YouTube and bakery are totally amazing, we bought four desserts for only £2.96 and they were good quality and so fresh. 10 out of 10 here, cheap and fabulous

  • Belle Smith

Great little corner bakery. Very well priced, convenient location and absolutely everything they make is delicious! They do not speak English but they are so sweet. Just point at what you want and they grab it for you. Absolutely recommend!

  • Jessica

I didn't think i would find such cheap tasty pastries so close to the square. Perfect for a quick breakfast or snack. I just wish they had some tables to eat at, but it was easy enough to walk to the square and eat at a bench.

  • Antonin Halek

Ostuda v centru Prahy.. neschopnost se domluvit základně anglicky. Vždyť je to 63 slovíček a 5 vět, za tejden naučený. A tak tam personál furt koktá: áles? Kafe preso... oukej :)) smutný ...

  • R&C West

This is a good little bakery very close to the old square. It would be good as a snack - we struggled a little for breakfast as they didn’t heat the food. However the food we got was tasty.

  • General Grievous

☀️výborná, chutná, pro domácí publikum ceny velmi přístupné, kompetentní, během půlky dne skoro pro zájemce vyprodaná Tak brzy nakupují... …

  • George TMB

For my 3 days in Prague I went into this bakery 5 times just to get more kolac and hlebycek for breakfast. Their indianek is also great. All I can say is "Jeste edin kolac, prosim!"

  • Igor José Úbeda Montenegro

Absolutely delicious with nice staff, but I'm giving it four stars because they charged more than the stated price for coffee. They should make sure their price list is updated.

  • Jaroslav Poláček

Pekařství. Starším ročníkům by přišlo normální, v daném místě a čase to je místo zaznamenání hodné. Takže, až Vás nebudou lákat croissanty, dojděte si na loupák. Navíc ušetříte.

  • Sebastian „Sebbe“

Didnt even talk to us when she realized we were tourists. I dont expect top notch service but at least ask your customer if they want anything else while attending your store.

  • Nikhil

Cosy bakery with lots of freshly baked breads and pastries. Bought a big loaf which could have had a slightly harder crust. The price was alright and the staff were friendly.

  • Li Tao

It's ok to buy something to take away, no place for a convenient in-house breakfast (only three small stand-up tables). The coffee was tasteless without milk available.

  • Nathanael M

Really good stuff and extremely cheap prices. Also, the location is quite good, close to city center. Unfortunately none of the staff was able to speak english...

  • Debbie „Debzoid“ E

Good value for central Prague. Unfortunately no vegan options at all other than dry bread and black coffee. My open sandwich (egg and cheese) wasn't very tasty.

  • Neta Morrag

Very cheap, very tasty option for a light meal right in the centre of Prague. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Decent selection of veggie options too.

  • Sofia Monteiro

Fresh bakery, tastes really good and it's not expensive! You have a lot of options to choose There is not much space to be but it's ok! …

  • Matúš Hupcej

One of the last true bakeries in the city center. Forget about breakfast at the hotel, eat here! Definitely a must visit place while in Prague.

  • A J

Awesome! Great prices, amazing pastries and coffee. English not great but easy to communicate non verbally and friendly ladies at the counter.

  • CN

Tried their kolach but they were disappointing. Pastry portion was very hard and dry. Although cheap, definitely better options elsewhere.

  • Sekar Yunita

Got to know this bakery from “Honest Guide” and I am loving it! Perfect breakfast takeaway with the most affordable price in Prague!

  • Claudio B

Lovely little bakery with excellent and tasty bread. Very well priced where I paid 7czk for a small baguette. Would recommend

  • Martin Holeyšovský

Moc dobrá pekárna :) Výběr pečiva není zas tak velký (chyběla mi třeba máslová houska), ale pečivo i zákusky jsou moc dobré.

  • Marialetizia Leonardo

Local language only and not sure about ingredients of their food. With an alergic to milk friend, it was quite a challenge.

  • Šimon Otruba

Cute little bakery . We had two cappuccinos and two sweet snacks for 120 CZK. Great gem in a very expensive area. …

Cheap prices, basic quality. For some extra crowns, there are better bakeries around there.

Good, but desserts menu should have more items... Missing my favourite chocolate tower.
