There are multiple instances of bullying, hitting, and intimidation especially in younger classes like grade 1/JK/SK. Kids are shuffled without proper reason; as you look more closely, it is happening more with minority groups. There are not proper facilities etc. the previous reviews talk about a “modern” space, which means nothing other than a bit building. My complaints below would be consistent with majority of people who live in the area if you have play dates and connect with local Facebook groups. You don’t want to put your child through truma in early stages. I agree with Killy, looks more like an honest review. Don’t forget that two schools are housing in the same building and only support for activities is a payable community center which can only accommodate less than 20 kids per class at a time. I would recommend moving near Queens park for better schools or move out of this area. During one of the parent-teacher sessions when asking what is the curriculum, and focus on reading/writing, one primary teacher responds by saying - my son who is 3 already can read a small sentence, however, the books aren’t part of curriculum - rubbing it in a parents face. When the virtual learning was there for a limited time, primary teacher was only focused on 4 students in the class who knew how to read already. Principal is always going to give you a generic response without any proper action plan. I believe they are too overwhelmed with number of buildings and kids, especially with ones with special needs and low income groups. Unless you are escalating to the superintendent, don’t expect any traction. You kid would initially enjoy going to school and later start hating it or build anxiety about it, and I’m not even talking grades, I’m talking about SK/JK. There are couple of teachers which are good and care, but they are only 2-4 out of lot of 12, and you are lucky to be in those teachers classes. In fact the after care which is not affiliated to the school is much better in management and teachers.

this school is not safe for children. Washrooms are not safe. School board and politicians are not protecting our children and families. They only care if one minority group feels that school is not a safe space. Now the vast majority of families dont feel this school is a safe place for our kids and no one cares.

Intermingling of all the genders in the same washroom without any privacy is not acceptable. It is sheer disrespect of people, their privacy, and mainly putting wvolnarable women at risk Their should be 3 washroom. Men, women, and those who identify themselves differently than their biological being is. Period.

Trigger happy teaching staff (nothing is their responsibility and they know it all). Equally incompetent office/admin team. The one star is for the sparkling new infrastructure of the school thanks to the Condo builders around the area.

The kindergarten program is positively engaging for new schoolers, excellent teachers, great program and a well integrated before and after care program. Big thank you to the entire Jean lumb and Canoe Landing community center team.

The most dangerous school ever. People like to bully each other, the washroom have no Genders imagine about that... Once I saw lots of people bullying a girl in the washroom. Unbelievable and the teacher didn't do any thing.
