The food was excellent but it was noisy. Seniors do not want a lot of noise. Our group is all seniors and we visit a different place every Friday, or go back to known favourites. We were in the bar area where the tables and seating is high. Next time, we will ask for seating in the low tables area where it appears to be quieter. Our food was very varied and everyone said their food was good. Above all, the selection of beers and drinks was awesome. Back here in June 2023. Still very loud in the "main dining room" with the low tables. "Young people" pounding music and we asked for it to be reduced in volume, which they did, but it was still too loud. In addition, their telephone messages are totally in French, which is unnecessary in Montreal's West Island if you want to encourage business. I recognized "reservation" and pressed the number for it, or I would have had to give up. The food, at least, was awesome when we got it.

The food is ok. The drinks very good. The waitress offerred excellent service. Bringing soft drink refils to my mom regularly. My problem is that I felt I was scammed. At the beginning of the evening I showed the waitress a 20$ coupon I had recieved in the mail and asked if I could use it. She said yes. At the end of the meal she asked me for my coupon and took off with it. I must say I never saw if there was an expiry date on the coupon and assumed the waitress would accept it because of the first conversation. When I paid the bill I was surprised that the 20$ had not been deducted. When I asked the waitress why she said the coupon was expired so it could not be used. I did not like the fact that she was not upfront with telling me that the coupon was expired. Why just ask for it and leave then bring me the bill. Had she simply advised me that the coupon was expired without the subterfuge of taking the coupon to discard before bring the bill I would not have felt as though I was scammed.

Loved this restaurant in the past especially for birthdays, but has really gone down hill. Server was not up to date with coupons, how they work etc ,it was a birthday meal , obvious opening gifts, telling waitress it was my guests birthday etc.and we where not able to get a basic side like bake potato, waitress should have known before that some foods not available. Manager had to come and read the coupon, mass mailing and she was not aware of terms. Warning if you have a coupon for drink with coupon don't sit at the bar and then move to the table, you must pay for your drink and then coupon will not work at the table. The waitress really tried after awhile, but just not trained well this all made it necessary to give her a poor tip. We also had to ask if there is a birthday dessert given on these special days as there always have been in the past. It would be nice to offer coffee ,tea with dessert not after.

I had not been back to Jack Astor's in over a year. The service was very good, and the atmosphere hasn't changed, but obviously they changed their menu. I like to try new and different foods when I eat out, and saw that there were many 'Asian Fusion' dishes on the menu. I decided to start with the Asian Tacos and really regretted my decision. The mix of sauces and flavours was awful. To me, nothing in this dish worked. After expressing my disatisfaction to our waiter, he asked if there was something else we would like instead, or if we would order main course meals. We ordered our meals, and I never heard about my awful 13$ experience again, with not even a discount or an apology. Because I chose to pay for more food, I guess it was ok to them, that I had a bad experience. So I received a 75$ bill and tipped accordingly, as the service was not the problem. My oppinion is that Jack Astor's seems to have lost what had made them great, and are trying too hard with their menu changes, then will loose customers regardless of their effort.

Jack Astor's is one of my favorite places , its been a long time I haven't been there it's just came off my mind , when I asked my colleagues, to go there , they said ohh yaa , we have forgotten this place, the food is good , tge service is perfect, and fir birthdays and tiger occasions it's tge place, children love it , they can draw in the tables, I love thus place .

My church’s after service skating event was canceled due to the weather as it wasn’t ideal for skating. It was decided we do lunch at Jack Astor’s Bar & Grill. I almost gave a 5star but I would save the last star for myself. Lol! I totally enjoyed dinning here. Every meal was a hit. The meal was tasty, fresh and truly delicious. I had the Tai sesame stir-fry and was a bit skeptical at first but I emptied my plate before I could blink. I love the fact that it’s kids friendly. They had crayons and brown paper spread across the table so you could draw and paint on them while waiting to be served. They had a kids menu and it came with some puzzles and tic tac to keep the little ones engaged. Service was great. The staff were courteous and helpful. The rest room had music playing and my daughter loved it. Overall, my experience was great I would definitely come back and I hit my eyes on the salmon dish with sweet peas and peppers.

Sunday night visit, 7 adults 2 toddlers.. lovely ambiance.. tables covered in brown paper for children to keep busy drawing. Children’s food ordered as we sat and was at the table by the time we received our drinks…fantastic start! Our waitress Bella was sweet and did her work very efficiently but seemed quite busy. We ordered their famous garlic cheesy bread and the lobster dip; should have ordered more dip but the garlic bread was sitting in a pool of melted butter. Yummy but made you feel guilty lol. Everyone was happy with their meals although the sauce on the hunters chicken was a bit bitter ( thus the 4 star rating) The desserts were great and they have a fantastic brownie! Good option for the family.

I have been to this Jack Astors for years and always super satisfied. For this reason, I put 4 stars instead of 3. This last time was different. Food was amazing, but the service was when it changed, starting with the quiet talking hostess (which was actually funny, cause none of us could hear what she was saying), the waiting staff forgot our utensils... twice, ordered drinks before our appetizers (as normal), received food at this point, it was the second request for utensils, and had to ask about our drinks. We will be back cause we always enjoy the food. Note to owner: Why did you remove the fish and chips and fajitas from the menu?

A little disappointed this time. All three people I was with said they wouldn't order their meal again. Nothing wrong with the food, but nothing stand out either and when you're paying $20-30/meal I want something that stands out a bit. Older menu was better than the current one. Messed up our order. Be careful on the terrasse as there's a lot of sun, easy to bake and burn if you're not careful. Easy to get to. Plenty of parking.

It's always a great time eating there! Their service is always friendly and welcoming. Love the brown paper on the tables for doodling, which is really great for children. I recommend the Chicken fingers with lemon pepper, and honey garlic sauce. Either cesar salad or fries is a good side option. My family also shared the beef nachos, the beef is seasong like taco meat, the portion is quite large but so delicious! In terms of price, it can definitely add up but nowadays a lot of restaurants are about 17-20+ $ per plate

Very chill ambiance, good services, and not too pricy for the quality, if compared to other places. Comfortable booth table, wide selection of drinks and beer, a couple of bottle of wine in the menu. The lady at the entrance was a bit rude - didn't even wish us, straight away coming to the point. The person who served us was alright and helpful, though the overall service can be better. We had a great time, but again, I think it depends on who serves and interacts with you. A lot of your experience here can depend on that. Rest everything was fine - we sat in the outdoor seating initially and later on moved indoors when it started raining. We were given a corner table with Elvis theme, which was great. The ambience is great, and so was the food and drinks. Service can be bumped up a bit, that's all.

Parking a little bit far because of McDs taking alot of spaces but no worries, a long walk is good after all that food :) Garlic Loaf as always didn't disappoint, loves my fried chicken sandwich and that deceptively small "who hid my brownie" dessert (must have omg). Highlight for us was the waiter, Sacha, awesome guy who took good care of us and also the manager who came back with a brand new plate of pasta for my gf after she sent back the prev one for being cold. Normally most places I've been to would just nuke it but the fact that the manager came out with a brand new one personally, to me speak volumes. Will definitely return soon.

Our second time here. Service was just incredible! Amanda, our waitress, was first of all, extremely polite, and helpful. She was paitent with someone who had no idea what to eat, (me) The food was delicious, decent portions and served hot. Definitely worth the visit. We will be returning.

The place feels very welcoming with some nice touch of humour. Food and drinks were mostly good. Although as pointed out by previous reviewers, the nachos we ordered were also just too salty. Our waitress did get one of our requests mixed up, we asked for a takeout box to bring the leftover nachos home, not a box and the nachos thrown away. Not a huge mistake by all means and no need to force so much apology. It really wasn't that big of a deal. Finally, the minimum 18% tip certainly sent us back to reality.

This is a nice place to hang out, with an outdoors terrace as well. A bar area separate from the restaurant keeps this place a hip party area for adults as well as youngsters. Really enjoyed the vegetarian entrées, cauliflower and broccoli poppers with dip. And the cocktails were delicious. New visit, different experience. Okay, my cocktail was delish: The Beached in a Glass. Aperol Spritz was lacking. The food was satisfying.

Whiskey business was a great cocktail. The chicken and bowtie pasta with the bacon and mushrooms was delicious. Mango mojito wasn't mixed well with all the sweetness at the bottom. I don't know what happened. This place used to be delicious with good variety. Selection seems to be not as good as before. Their staple fajitas is even gone. Portions are smaller too. As for tastiness, definitely not like before the pandemic. We had a very nice but clueless waitress. She also doesn't listen. I asked for a non-alcoholic lemonade (emphasized non) only to receive an alcoholic one. Then we ordered (2 adults) only for her to come back a minute later asking what we ordered again....

My colleagues and I went here for drinks and snacks after work a couple of weeks ago. We haven't been to this location in a long time, and we were all pleasantly surprised with the selection of the menu, many types of drinks and how busy it was! We ordered a variety of food items (nachos, wings, etc) and drinks (beer, wine, sangria) and everything was good. We found the prices in certain items to be a tad high, but the quality was good. What we enjoyed the most was our waiter's friendliness, prompt service and pleasant attitude! Thanks!

Ate here on Saturday got food poisoning Sunday, service was slow considering it was about 15-20 ppl. Drink were water down, bathrooms not so clean, food not the greatest, they forgot what is in the menu that describes the dish is suppose to come out with that dish. Won’t be coming back. Just a thought since flu/Covid season is here shouldn’t servers n those working in the kitchen wear some type of mask?

Jack Astor's is an American style restaurant with the expected fare. I had the steak frites and garlic bread which was pretty good but expensive for what it is. Had a great afternoon at the bar section for a few drinks The morning after my husband couldn't find his wallet and called Jack's to see if they found it there. The guy who answered the phone took my husband's phone number and said he would check to see if they found it. They did a complete check and found nothing. I found the wallet at home, what a scare!! Used to be a great place. Came here with my sister and friend, nachos were empty, my sisters chicken burger was so bad she didn’t eat it and my soup was cold. Our waitress didn’t come see us once after giving us our food. We waited 20 minutes for our bill and when we asked for the bill, she still didn’t bring it. Listennnnn....this jack Astor's has the most amazing cook! The food is always amazing I have tried to order at other branches but it's not the same. Very expensive for what you get and the quality went down, ordered their specialty "my cookie ate your brownie" on uber eats and wow it was disgusting, cold, tasted like the brownie you buy at costco, not at all what it used to be, I always ordered it in the past as it was the best, not anymore... food in general doesnt make up for it because its still expensive for an average experience, will not be going again

Pre-covid, we'd frequent this place quite often. I was worried about our first visit back because of how other restaurants struggled and had to change over the pandemic. The menu looks reduced and there aren't peanuts all over the bar floor anymore. However, the excellent taste and ambiance are still there. We'll be regulars once again. The only thing is I wish they'd bring back the quesadillas and apple pie.

I called ahead of time to ask if they will display a few particular sports games. They confirmed they will. Once arrived, they tell me they do not display the games. I order a pitcher of heineken, they bring me horrible tasting beer which was definitely not what I asked for.

Our family loves Jack Astor’s. They have a great lively atmosphere. The service is very friendly and professional. The food is excellent with a menu for every taste. They also feature new items on the menu regularly so there’s always something innovative and delicious to try. The kids menu also has a lot of variety.

Excellent chicken wings; very crispy! I asked them to put the buffalo sauce on the side. Excellent sweet potato fries. I don’t drink anything with alcohol, and they made me a fruity sparkling drink, which was refreshing for the summer. Very enjoyable meal!

We are regulars at the greenfield park location, but moved closer to the West Island and decided to try the location today, AMAZING! Service was really good! The staff was very friendly, the meals were very well served. We were very happy and will comeback for sure!

New menu , same great service. Even new drinks just in time for st paddys day . Highy recommended the new bowl. And a fish bowl to drink. Sadly forgot to take pic of my plate was to good. Ended up putting phone down. :)

Friendly staff and excellent food, the burgers are a must! The beers were good too!

Very welcoming waitress and fast service. The curry bowl portion was generous and had a nice flavour and kick. Taking off 1 star because the nachos were way too salty.

We had an excellent and wonderful table service. The manger checked on is to be sure everything was ok. The burgers with fried onions were super tasty. Awesome cook! Well-done! We'll be back soon! :)

Great place! I had a salad with tenders the first time and didn't disappoint. Las time I ordered the Chipotle NY and it was so tasty and juicy. Really enjoyed my meals there. Very recommended !

4 star on thé ambiance and the vibes , for thr food I will rate 3.5 star- nothing extraordinary but nothing bad- the brownies though was very good- the remaining desserts are not recommended

Absolutely delicious food and great service. The environment is very nice and we’re always satisfied when we go. Although I wish they didn’t remove the ribs and fajitas from the menu!

Nice place to hangout with friends or family, the food is nice and the staff is super nice! love their fishbowl, nice way to get drunk get 2 of those and it's set :p

Food is consistently fresh and very good. The sesame chicken stir fry is amazing and keeps me coming back
