Blackmail, threats and broken glass - We hired a van to move house (boxes and bags, no heavy furniture - Nothing needed to be lifted by more than one person.) for three hours to go from Camden to Harringay. £60 was their quoted price when booking. - Halfway loaded the driver decided that we had too much stuff, saying we had said 'a few boxes and bags' and his definition of 'a few' wasn't more than 'four' and asked us to pay more. (But then why would we need a van for 3 hours to drive 4.5 miles through London on a Sunday, a trip of 30 minutes according to google maps?! In the end we filled the van only half full when everything was loaded and were done in only two hours!) What could we do but agree to his blackmail and pay more; we had spent the whole morning dragging everything out into the street? - I hadn't liked the way the driver was 'helping' us by flinging our stuff as far into the van as possible from the pavement. After he ripped open a sturdy bag containing winter coats as he flung it one-handed as far as he could into the back of the van and then did a similar maneuver with a £600 all-in-one touchscreen desktop computer, I climbed into the back of the van so that I could be handed our stuff and arrange it properly at the back of the van. - I thought I was helping, thinking that afterall I knew the best way to load our stuff because I had packed the boxes and therefore could arrange the heavier ones under the lighter ones, stabilizing things and making sure stuff wouldn't bang around during transit. (We move house every couple of years so we do know what we're doing.) However, the driver wasn't happy with my method, and instead of simply having us sign a waiver at that moment saying we take responsibility for having loaded the van, continued to complain about what I was doing, despite the fact that my partner agreed that I probably knew best because I knew what was in each box. I made the 'mistake' of justifying my decision by mentioning that I preferred to load the van because I hadn't liked the way he had made a £600 computer go thud when he tossed in into the van. His response was to threaten us to no longer respect our booking and make us unload all of our stuff from the van! - We had already agreed to pay more and signed a waiver in the end, but from that moment, everything I did and said warranted another threat to make us unload everything from the van, at least 4 times in total, including the last time when I took social media information from the side of the van to leave a facebook review. One threat came after the driver refused to continue speaking with my partner if I was present. I did not insult the driver, nor raise my voice at him, so he was completely unjustified in how he treated us and me in particular. - And, unfortunately, I was wearing sandals, an inappropriate choice of footwear for the job I took on I admit, and cut my instep on all the broken glass in the back of the van, like 'a few' big light bulbs had exploded everywhere. I mentioned this to the driver only after all our stuff was loaded. He did not reply. - 24 hours after our experience with Joel Services UK, after some harassing phone calls and text messages and after my negative facebook review had been finally deleted from their page, I recieved an 'apology' by text explaining to me that I misunderstood how the driver treated us. He wrote, 'I apologise if [you] had a perception different from what I had in mind.' which basically is not an apology because the driver doesn't admit he treated us poorly. Does this mean standard business practice of Joel Services UK drivers is blackmail and threats?!

Not sure where to even start.... Seek another removal company. They turned up 50 minutes late, break your items and leave marks on your door and scratch your new flooring. Found stones on the bottom of the boxes and as they pushed it underneath the staircase it caused scratches on the floor. I was going to abstain from leaving a review as we came to an agreement after i mentioned doing a youtube and instagram review to my 20k+ followers but the final straw was the scratches on my newly laid laminate flooring. The manager dupsey is on the defensive side and fails to take accountability. Saying the men lifted the boxes yet I saw as they lifted in and placed on the floor and pushed. This is when the damage was done. Whilst she tried to make amendments for the lateness after i mentioned I will share the experience on social media that is when Dupsey became more open to resolution.The breakage of my item which the delivery men said they could not see as it was black(!) however had neon transparency inside... after they asked me if i had anything else because it was such a big van I gave them my item. Went to get cash as they wanted cash in hand and came back to see my item in pieces and a black mark on the front door. The further damage to my floors was enough. Not to mention one of the removal men having a poor attitude and refusal to speak to me as i demonstrated my upset and confusion as to how two people with eyes could not see an item with neon orange insides and black on the outside. Not a pleasant experience. I advise you go elsewhere and pick anyone else. The lateness will be justified with "the guys left early though" "oh dear" and " we do not take responsibility for broken items contact your insurance". The absolute worst, not sure how they have so many "good" reviews. They will never take accountability, for floor damage, as Dupsey said the guys didn't cause any damage despite my floors being perfect before their arrival. They will look for something else to say rather than just accept responsibility/apologise and claim issues will be investigated when we all know they wont. Choose someone else peeps!

Being non working single parent going through a divorce life is stressful enough add a move to that when you have anxiety issues can be far from fun; joel removals accommodated my schedule and life, they were able to book at time my daughter was in nursery having moved around some stuff on their end, the cost was affordable, I had booked two evening prior to the move; booking was late night and the lady who manages booking was so helpful and accommodating, none Of this was an issue for her, the guys who turn where professional friendly kind patient (I was bit forgetful a certain times) hard working and fast but careful; I’ve never felt such ease with a company and as result I intend for them to be handling the rest of my home move in matters of days. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!!!! They simply were amazing; thank you Joel removals and Team Update: the rest of my move went just as smooth as first half, I was fortunate enough to have Ricky the driver carry out the second half as he did the first half, corner part of sofa gave him trouble but he got it out and into new house. Having baby girl with me for this second part played on my anxiety he was able to help Me control that and bring my levels back down without delaying or stopping work, this man is a legend!!!! Can’t stress that enough, if he turns up at your job rest assured you are in EXCELLENT hands, job took an hour longer due to corner part sofa being a struggle to get out the old house the company were more then accommodating and I cannot thank them enough I feel like there aren’t enough words!!! Having been recommended to me by my cousin, I called Joel on Thursday afternoon to arrange moving some belongings from Milton Keynes to South West London following a separation. We were able to arrange mutually convenient timings for the next day; to which Joel arrived in good time. He was swift and professional in helping move items to the van & also dismantled a bed frame which I was having trouble doing beforehand. The large van had ample space for a whole house move, alongside removal blankets & straps to secure any heavy items. Joel Services helped me move from my last address. The driver arrived as scheduled and as doubled as Handyman, he helped with dismantling large furniture which could not be carried through the door; one of these was a large wardrobe with a full body length mirror attached to one of the doors. He uncoupled the parts meticulously and arranged them in the van in a secure manner. He also helped with disconnecting my washing machine at which point he pointed out how lime scale which had formed in the filters, could affect performance. Back at my new home, he helped with moving my things from the van to the flat on the second floor of the building. And went on to help install the washing machine, assemble the bed and wardrobe. Joel Services made my move stress free and I have recommended them to friends and will continue to recommend their services. If I have to move in future, that's one less stress off my mind, I will definitely contact Joel Services UK.

I was SO happy with the service that I received on the day that I had to move, from start to finish. When I booked the removal, it was only 2 days before we had to move, but nothing seemed to be too much trouble. I was sent confirmation with all details of the move, which helped as I was really stressed and couldn't remember much about the booking conversation. On the day of removal, the man and van turned up on time and was a really nice, pleasant guy, who, even though he was only expected to drive, helped me when he could. In all, we had to make 2 trips to my storage unit to our new home and, 1 trip from our old house to the new one but, again, nothing was too much trouble. I had a very stressful day but, it was also a pleasant day that wasn't rushed and, will recommend this removal company to anyone. Thank you so much for all your help guys!!!

In three words: unreliable + poor communication. Pretty poor experience here. To all looking to use this company be sure that you have received a confirmation in writing that your slot has been fully locked in. My job was rescheduled less than 24 hours prior to the start time. The aforementioned may have been a miscommunication, something easily solvable, however the rescheduling process was rude and bitter with no apology or even acknowledgement of partial responsibility. The very one-sided sour exchange ended with a payment request (I posted it as an image). It is a flavour of the customer service to expect -- genuinely left me taken aback. Perhaps their moving service is solid. But I wouldn't know given the apalling initial customer service.

I used Joel Removals to move across South London. Dupsy was great over Whatsapp, clarifying the quote details, enabling me to easily organise the moving date and time and provide info and deposit in good time. Then on the day, Joel himself was friendly and efficient and ensured we loaded the van as quickly and safely as possible. He allowed me and a friend who was helping to sit in the cab with him to get to the new destination so that we wouldn't have to get taxis, and then helped us unload the van and bring awkward furniture up stairs with ease - I've never seen someone manoeuvre a desk around a twisty narrow stairs so impressively! A true professional, great service all round.

Amazing service. I needed a sofa collected from NE London and delivered to SE London. If I am honest, this was a last resort as I was unable to find a convenient ZipVan to move the sofa. Joel was very competitively priced and provided an exceptional service. From initial contact to the collection/delivery of the sofa, it was hassle free. Joel was very professional and took the lead throughout the moving process. If you’re moving furniture in London, it’s definitely worth paying that little bit more and have Joel take they hassle out of it! Joel will be the first person I call for my next move!!

We booked Joel Removals 2 weeks ago and paid a £100 deposit to secure a 3pm removal service for monday. We were told at 3.20pm they were running late, and at 4.30pm when WE rang back told they would not be coming because the drivers were ‘tired’. I feel sorry for the customer service rep as she was extremely apologetic and lovely. But this was extremely unprofessional to say the least being a very time sensitive service and the deposit supposedly being a guarantee. We received £20 compensation for the inconvenience. I would not recommend using a service with such unreliable movers.

I am so so happy with the service this company provided. Joel went above and beyond, I'd mentioned in booking that assistance in loading and unloading wouldn't be necessary but he took it upon himself to ensure everything was handled carefully and quickly. so I tend to leave everything last minute. I decide to phone this company I found online and the lady who answered the phone was super friendly and she just gave me a good vibe. I booked my ride from Fulham to Hackney and that’s when I met Joel, the driver who took thing even further with his sense of humour, great taste in football and friendly vibe. Music tends to be awkward in this sort of situations but there’s nothing better than a jazzy progressive, drummy overall positive musical vibe, no vocals just music. Great work! We had a particularly awkward sofabed to get up two narrow staircases. We tried to do it ourselves and got it stuck. We rang Joel Removals at 5.30pm, spoke to Dupsy who was extremely helpful and she arranged help for 7.30 the next morning. Great experience. We needed to move some furniture and boxes from storage to our home on New Year's Eve and made a last minute booking the day before. Very easy to book, with very clear communication, and I think a reasonable price. The two removal guys (Lee and Ben) were courteous, punctual (in fact early) and good humoured. Most importantly, they showed real care and professionalism with the items. We've had some really stressful experiences with removals in the past so this was a breath of fresh air.

Excellent and efficient team - experienced when it came to loading and unloading, knew how to carefully handle antique and delicate furniture. Joel gave a good quote based on photos of items to be moved arrived on the dot and had three chaps take everything from a two bed massionette in camberwell to deepest Cotswolds. Blokes were amiable and dedicated. They had great skill in getting alot into a Luton van without compromising care and were very careful with the paint work.
