The cashier rang me up and I paid. She didn’t ask me if I wanted a bag, so I asked her for one. She said in Spanish how much, I kindly said I’m sorry I don’t understand, at that point she refused to help me any further. The customer behind me told me what she said, so I gave her the dollar for the bag. She then threw the bag at me, I asked her to bag my items, she shook her said no and said I need to wait till after she takes care of the next customer, mind you I’m still in line, and my items are by her. I said nicely, ma’am I need to go can I have my items? She completely ignored me! The cashier Janet would not help me because I didn’t speak Spanish, she said this in her own words! You don’t speak Spanish I will not help you. This is the second time she has treated me like this! The first time was about two months ago, I spoke to the many then, I did not react to the cashier, but this time I did. As I spoke to the manager who was refusing to give me corporate or the owners name, the cashier Janet was laughing at me. This was so disrespectful, I felt unsafe. I can not believe they allow such horrible customer service! I will be calling the better business bureau ASAP to file a complaint! The security guard came to me apologizing on the cashiers behalf because he seen it all. I was not rude at all, very respectful to her up until she treated me like garbage. They were beyond rude. I will not be letting this go at all. This was the one on decker lane on August 30.2023 at around 6pm. She pulled me out of character that day. I’ve been a lying customer for the past two years, only ever had issues with this one cashier. I would not have gone to get if I would of recognized her from the last time. I want her removed from this job, it’s unfortunate, but you can NOT treat people like this, not because the customer, because I am a human being!!

I stopped in for the first time since June (when I moved into the area). Last time I went to this store (I feel disgusting for calling such a place a store) not only was I not allowed to bring my own shopping bags in the woman who was with me was not allowed to bring her purse in. Same thing concerning the shopping bags this time, I was not allowed to bring them in and was treated in a very condescending manner when being told that I had to leave my bags by the door. The main reason I went in a second time was because I was told about how good the food was in their taqueria. First, there were no clear prices on the items or what was what. Second, the food sitting on a hot table was cold and not only looked but tasted as if it had been there since this morning (it was in the afternoon that I went in). Third, when I asked for a certain amount of the items the woman serving me did not listen and insisted of giving me more than what I wanted and would not communicate the price and weight of what I needed clearly. Honestly she acted like she didn't even know where she was. She also used the same tongs to fill the containers of my food on different food items (cross contamination) and used her hand in 3 different food selections (thankfully she was wearing gloves but still not very sanitary). I ended up spending close to $20 for the worst food I have ever eaten that now has me wondering if I will end up in the hospital for food poisonings tonight. Short and final review of the place. I feel like I have lost part of my soul for giving this place a second chance. I will also be contacting the health department tomorrow concerning their taqueria and the sanitation of the store (street side food trucks are cleaner than this store).

The group of employees has been awesome with security while I have used this place to shop for groceries before. I have sat down at a chair in a table to charge stuff while I have enjoyed a beverage I bought at the cafe. I have used the bathroom here before, and it usually is pretty clean given the amount of people that often come here in the lunch rush. You cannot reasonably ask for too much. There are reasonable prices; you need to search. It is cleaner than the Dollar Tree, and many other stores. There is a nice security guard as well who seems to be generally concerned about people with depression unless I'm crazy. He has never harmed me. Even when I was slow and feeling embarrassed doing things from my spinal hardship, they were polite.

Cashiers at this store have the worse attitude. The cashier charged me for my groceries and she did not bagged my stuff. I asked her for the grocery bags that i had purchased. And she threw the bags on top of my groceries and i told her excuse me arent you going to bag my stuff? She said NO you do it and i was like whattt??? I could not believe the attitude and yhe way she told me for me to bag my own stuff. I called the manager and he had to bag my groceries cause i told him she didnt want to do it. He said thats not part of her duties. Keep in mind there was NO ONE else in line to pay. And she still didnot do it the manager had to bagg my items. DONOT go there worse service ever.

The place is always clean, i live almos next door so i go here when i need something and its not groceries day, just dont buy mayonnaise here, the small one is $8 plus change and taxes, when HEB sells it for $4 And they used to have good barbacoa and carnitas but they been slacking, there used to be a short guy that was like a manager there a few years back and he made sure the carnitas he gave you were cut right and you had all you're sides, but now the only nice lady there is a tall one that she always treats you good and offers you more options, the rest of the ladies are always rude, but other then all that i like the place and i recommend it 100%

Was just shopping in here 3/4/2021 @10:00am. I've never felt the way I just did, trying to buy some tacos. I was standing at the counter to order at least 5 minutes. No one else in line, there where at least 5 women (employees)who saw me. They even made eye contact with me. Not one said anything to me and wouldn't take my order. I could've made a fuss, but why? It's a shame, they have really good tacos, and I like the store, but will.not be returning and will tell everyone I know to do the same. I just don't understand it. If the manager sees this I really hope you can teach your employees that all customers matter, and this is not acceptable

I came to the jds to get some items I was having a great day til I went and paid for my items at the register 1 the cashier not only was in her phone talking while being at the register she was rude as hell when I tried to ask for a bag she put her hand up like telling me t shut it and pointed at her phone that she was in a call. They should really train their employees better with this kind of treatment I will take my business elsewhere. When I called to ask for a manager I was directed to a line that kept on beeping I was on the phone waiting for someone in the management department to answer for at least 10 min with no avail.

Like most large stores it's always important to place customer service at the top, it's what drives people to come back and make your business thrive, once that is lacked then all you have is a soulless store with nothing to differentiate you from any of the other meat markets around. I would have given this store 5 stars for the soul fact that your store is nice and offers a wide variety of products but due to your lack of customer service my grade will be a 2. What kind of store doesn't have a manager or someone in charge for over 10 hours...at least provide a number or someone to reach... such disappointment..

On November 27, I purchased a champurrado (my favorite) after 1-2 sips I told my mom that it tasted weird about 30 minutes later I start having serious stomach problems. After 2 hours that I feel better I Googled “Spoiled Milk Symptoms” this are the results “A small sip of spoiled milk is unlikely to cause symptoms beyond a bad taste. Drinking larger amounts of spoiled milk can cause stomach distress resulting in 1. abdominal cramping, 2. vomiting and 3. diarrhea” I had the 3 symptoms; I just ask that before making any atole or champurrado, please check that the milk is NOT EXPIRED or spoiled.

This store is closest to my house I gave a neighbor a ride a couple weeks ago and he had a disagreement with the guy in the store as he was getting in my car. I was waking up from a little nap the man tried to strong arm him from getting in my car I started to pull away an the dude from jds stood in front of my car an pulled out a pistol !!I pulled around him and he threw something at my car I burned rubber out of there! I thought we had been shot!! given the fact he wore nothing to identify him as an employee or security !! I'm calling an attorny!

Run By Horrible management personnel. Getting rid of Tip jar for food servers because they don't feel its right for their employees to get tipped for good service. Long Lines because only One lane is open. Items take ages to get restocked and Now $5 min for cash back giving people even less reason to go inside. Honestly I am going take an extended trip just so I don't have to fund such a company and get everything where I Know for sure I can get it such as HEB.

Cashier scanned all my items took my payment and left there without bagging. She starts scanning items of next customer and another cashier came over to help me. I asked if it was not the cashiers job to bag my items and she responded “we don’t have too and do it as a favor” so I called manager on duty and she reassured me that yes they are suppose to bag customers items. I think I’ll drive the extra 30 min to HEB. The employees are not trained as should be.

My husband went to eat with his workers and the food was good but the service was very bad. The lady treated him rudely when all he asked for was his drink. It was at 9:19 a.m. at the food station inside the store. Her name says Britany M. On the receipt. This shouldn't had happened especially that early in the morning so sad. I would have given it ZERO STARS‼️‼️ I think the owner should know about this because I'm sure my husband wasn't her first victim.

It is the ONE entitled store in Austin, idk about the other JDs but in this one you’re always mistreated; especially by the entitled cashiers. You can hear them talking about all the customers and about each other, etc. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. Today I had one laugh at my face for no reason. Please review the standard of your own store and check on the people that works there. If they don’t want to work and be kind, let them be home.

DON’T COME HERE, WE GOT SCAMMED - The cashier added $6 to our total by scanning random things and we didn’t notice until later. This was my first time at this store and I came in for a few groceries (~5 items), and on the receipt it says we were charged for a thermometer, an extra bag of chips, and popcorn? I didn’t have any of those things in my cart. Please be careful, I don’t feel safe shopping there again.

I love their fresh rotisserie chicken made with adobo! And it’s a very convenient place to shop out here without having to make the trip closer to town. The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is because the prices are pretty high!! Like cereal is 5-6$ the rotisserie chicken at H‑E‑B usually 5-7$ whereas here it’s 10$! EVERYTHING IS PRICED HIGHER!! Quality is great and selection is also good.

Bought a loaf of bread at this Market, went home and opened the package just to discover mold inside! The date on the bread package was not expired. Also, this Market is ridiculously expensive. A little bit on the expensive side, It's like shopping at Randall's or Albertsons price wise! And at customer service, When buying a money order, They don't accept debit or credit cards. It's cash only. They make you use an ATM machine, Which does NOT allow you to withdraw much at all. I ended up having to take a trip to HEB grocery for that part.

This is a predatory supermarket. Preys on the local hispanic population and inflates prices. Much of the produce is old and also over priced except for limes and avocados, forget it. You won't find any normal items at normal cost. It's basically a super large gas station market.

It's a step between convenience store and grocery store. Perfect for staples, decent meat and produce deals. Baked goods can be hit and miss as far as quality. Staff are also hit and miss - either they're super friendly or barely acknowledge your existence ringing up groceries.

The quality in their meat department is not as good as it used to. Just bought carne de pastor for tacos and I think more than half was just fat. I know it contains some fat but c'mon! Wish I had taken a picture before we started cooking it, you can really see it there.

Always shop here and see the price differences from the other grocery stores. Always get fast friendly service in the bakery. All stores in Austin have a big turn over in staff so the staff is constantly changing. Consider it lucky when getting good customer service.
