"Three stars rounded up from 2"
The Staff there was trying to scam me. on 1 Oct, I was there to buy a drink. There wasn’t any price tag on all the drinks but I know The drink was $3.5 coz my friend bought it right before I did. I paid $20 and the staff (a lady) gave $15 back to me. I confirmed with her how much the drink is. She paused for a few seconds and said its $3.5. And then I asked how come she just returned $15. She panicked and told me she thought it’s a different product after a few seconds. I don’t buy it since my friend bought the very same product 20 seconds ago. Then she gave me $1 on top of the $15. And then I asked her again why she charged me for $4 when the drinks was $3.5. And then she threw two 25 cents at me. It is definitely a very worse experience to a traveller. If the store owner sees this, I hope you can do sth about it. Because the lady there is simply rude and dishonest.
All I can say is that I will never enter this business again. I am a wheelchair user and I was browsing their hot sauces while waiting for my brother-in-law to make purchase. The owner came up to me and told me that I better not break anything or I would have to pay for it (seemed like a very random comment, since that obviously applies to anyone in the store). Then proceeded to tell me that I'm not allowed in the store with my "vehicle" (referring to my wheelchair). Totally unacceptable. Needless to say, they will never receive any business from me or anyone I know. This place deserves zero stars.
Wow! Make sure you check expiry dates... I just went in to buy something I needed to make my dinner... thinking people take care of the store... Nope! I kid you not once I got to my office... the item I bought expired February 2012.... it is August 2017!!! What the actual f are you selling?!?! Beware of expiry dates everyone... I have never ever seen something like this before... well at least I looked at the box when I got to the office... my fault for not checking before purchasing... but I did not expect the item to be expired in 2012!!!! DISGUSTING
Bought extremely overpriced garlic here. I was in a rush and just grabbed it as it looked fine from the side it was sitting on. Went home to find out that it was so old, that it was sprouting several green stems. I have never seen garlic this old before. The store clerk was not friendly and didn’t tell me the price of the garlic - She simply typed in the amount and barely handed over the debit machinefor me to use tap. I had to teach over the table to pay on her wireless debit machine! Do not recommend
Three stars rounded up from 2.5. Not so much a grocery store as a “food museum” with interesting exemplars of different types of food that have come in and out of fashion over the last decade. Lettuce from 1997? Not much different from the lettuce of today, as it turns out. Certainly less crisp in one’s salad. But for the curious food scholar, the knowledge to be gained is worth it. Also, IF has a weirdly comprehensive selection of hot sauces. Guess that’s one thing that can’t go off.
Extremely rude and impolite staff. The old man cashier was so rude to my wife and son when they stopped by to grab an ice cream. It was advertised for $2.99 and he Charged $5.30 for it. My wife argued that he had to honor the advertised price but he refused and removed the sign and swore at my wife with the F word. All the customers at that time got angry with him and walked out when they witnessed what happened. DO NOT bother shopping there.
This was a thriving location some time ago - but now that they’ve realized that this whole facility is being torn down - it breaks my heart that all of these businesses will suffer. It’s overpriced now to survive “as long as the window is open”. Please - if you can afford to so - do this - as the businesses will be there no longer soon enough. The ripple effect will be sad by large.
Random convenient store in Eau Claire market full of treasure products! They have the biggest hot sauce selection and are pretty knowledgeable about it! They also have an unusual chocolate selection and products from the UK (when covid doesn't get in the way) I highly recommend to check it out if you are into trying out new products that you wouldn't find anywhere else!
Besides having horrible produce, limited selection and overpriced merchandise, one young female clerk is particularily perma-grump. Politely asked if they sold cigarettes. She snapped back "OMG why would we sell cigarettes? We don't do that..." Avoid. Mid-town Coop isn't that far and is much more appealing.
The hours say that they’re open until 7pm but every time I go there they have the gate closed. They’re either closed when they’re supposed to be open or they’re there and the gates were shut. I went there tonight and called out to the two people in there and they just ignored me.
Although their website is still under construction there was a fair number of hot sauces to choose from. One I ordered was out of stock so they gave me a call and I picked up another kind instead. Prices very reasonable, especially when
The place gives a vibe that they would overprice everything but it turns out the bug spray we bought was the correct retail price. Giving them a 5 star because it seems like they have much lower rating on Google than they deserve.
No pricing on most items. Stale products kept on shelves and a lot more expensive than nearby 7-11, Macs or Shoppers. Old guy was helping himself to a slice of bread from a loaf of bread on the shelf! Who does that?
(2018): Horrible staff, overpriced food, would not let me into the restaurant. *edit: (March, 10 2021): The owner has contacted me, and said that they have improved staffing, and that their pricing is better.
has a great variety of hot sauces, lots of other stuff too but i went in for the sauce. if you’re looking for a place to find more than your average grocery store selection, i recommend checking them out.
Great selection of hot sauces from Canada and all over the world! If you love Marie Sharps, this is the place to go! Lots of tasty, good quality chocolate and even imported cheese. A hidden gem for sure.
Always come here before my blood donation for snacks, now they carry english imported cheese which make me happy for sure, saw lots of hot sauces I didn't get around to checking out as well!
They have a nice selection of things but they’re honestly never open during their advertised hours. 3/5 times I go to pick something up they’re closed and I have found the staff to
I'm not sure what I expected but I was really surprised in a great way. Lots of great local meats and cheeses plus hot sauces and other hard to find items from all over the world.
The staff is super friendly and very helpful. They have a large selection of sauces and spices, including a selection of locally made products. I will be back to shop for more
Very rude staff, an elderly man basically yelled at us and accused us of stealing and would refuse to give us a simple plastic bag for our purchase?? Not coming here again.
Horrible customer service. Old lady yelling at customers shopping while on their cellphone. $2.50 for a bag of chips that's only $1.69 at 7-11 or Macs or $1 at Dollarama.
This is an international grocery shop don't expect cheap deals or volume. The staff is knowledgeable about internation brands and treats. They where very friendly to me.
Awful business, no receipt, no price tags, guy just punches in the price off the top of his head for things. Store exists to rip off tourists and people passing by.
DOES NOT SELL ISLAND PRODUCTS. This store is like a mini mart. There is no Caribbean foods there. She had hot sauce and coconut milk. And u have to pay for parking.
What’s a wonderful little store with a great selection of hot sauces, reasonably priced produce always enjoy coming to this store when I visit eau Clair market
We will never go here again. Similar themes to what others have posted. - Overpriced. We bought 2 small bottles of kombucha, and it cost us $6 each! We
Went here after giving blood, and it was a really nice place to grab some quality fruits after being drained and needing some vitamins.
One Hagen Daaz ice cream bar for 5:25? No receipt. No price tag. What a rip off. Ice cream was freeze burnt.
Best hot sauce selection in Calgary and the recommended habanero bbq sauce went perfect with my beef ribs.
Great little store. One of the best hot sauce collections around. And a bunch of new local spices.
Customer service very bad. The lady cashier working evening shift on canada day was very rude
Awesome selection of hot sauces, pleasant customer service. Will be back for more sauces
Polite, friendly and a nice little family owned food / grocery store always a pleasure!
Rude staff, very overpriced items. Save your money and good mood. Go somewhere else!
Here for the film festival. Bought chips in a can for 4 dollars and they were stale.
The staff was unpleasant and extremely rude. The last time I shop there.
Amazing selection of hot sauces, very knowledgeable staff.
Customer service is very bad . And food is overpriced.
Can't give them any stars. They don't pay their bills.
