On our first visit to South Africa we had a truly memorable authentic experience guided by Imbizo Travel. This included a tour of Soweto where we 'actually' walked into Nelson Mandela's house - preserved for posterity. This time we, my husband and I want to bring to the attention of tourists the new and exciting Museum of local art, healing plants and lifestyle history that is a must on your visit to Joannesburg. You will go in for a visit and several hours later you are still exploring local art and history. Facility also offers space for conferences, team building and training. We really enjoyed our tour with Mandy. Think of it as a cultural/political tour, not just being driven from place to place with historical sites pointed out. We covered markets, historical sites and townships. Conversationally we covered African spirituality, politics, economics etc. Mandys ethos is that tourism needs to be spread around and its about the exchang of ideas. It's clear how well she is thought of in the community - she knows everybody! She also has a really compelling personal story. It was important to us to support a black and female owned tour operator. Highly recommend.
