We ate here on a wet Monday night. The fish and chips were quite good, although the haddock was a bit dry. Waitress seemed nervous and had to come back to check our order for each course. Coffee was very weak. We were the only ones eating inside. Others were eating on the balcony, and their cigarette smoke could be smelt inside. More

Full breakfast and two smalls were nothing to write home about I’m afraid. I’ve had much much nicer breakfasts elsewhere locally. Coffee was tepid and weak and nearly got charged for it despite it being free with the breakfast. The lady who served us was lovely, very friendly and welcoming though. Very disappointed. More

Arranged a wake in there private room. Perfect for small gathering of up to 50 people. Ordered a buffet for 25 people but 40 came back. They were quick to keep the buffet topped up. Nothing was too much trouble. The room leads onto a small semi covered area . I had the menu option 1 which was freshly prepared. More

Came in at 8.30 on the dot, service was shocking let alone the coffee. Coffee looked like rusty radiator water and tastes very similar. Asked for a pump of caramel but didn’t get any. Tried to charge £9 when the two coffees were only £6.40. Don’t come get your morning coffee from here, make it at home. More

My sister's and I just wanted to have and cake after visiting our mum and dad who rest at Cranford. As it was approaching lunchtime I asked the Patron if he could keep a table for us, he said no problem and on arrival we were looked after wonderfully. What service and lovely coffee and cakes! Thank you More

Great local fish and chip place with really lovely new owners. These fish and chips are as good as you'll find in the area with excellent homemade mushy peas and tartar sauce. Large child friendly restaurant to eat in or take away. Try them out! More

We had Dads 90th birthday party here today in the back room/garden. Everything was just perfect. Very good communication prior to event, and nice buffet including catering very well for special dietary requirements. Really nice - Thank you Hunters!

  • Alfie Mallett

Left thoroughly disappointed. Service was slow and nonchalant. Mine and my girlfriends breakfasts were awful, avocado was rock hard and not edible, bacon overcooked and the sausages poor quality and tasted like they'd been sitting out for a

I live near this place and I decided to pop in and have a look around. The inside looks stunning and the staff were very welcoming and the till person had a warm smile. Now onto the food I never in my have had such a perfect poached cod in

Really disappointed - we used to visit Hunters regularly for a good, local cooked breakfast. I've made the unfortunate mistake of recommending this place twice since the establishment changed management - on both occasions, everyone around

Very disappointed. I'm not sure what was going on in the kitchen at this local restaurant today. I came here with my family and all 3 of our meals were poor. I did feed back to the staff as everyone is allowed a bad day but unfortunately I

PS update Oct 2022: one star down now, as I think the coffee and drink is and has been onwardly rather a bit below the local other 5 star coffee shops etc on offer. The new owners, Oct 2022, I think could improve this now & up the quality

I just had my 50th birthday party at Hunters Cafe Bar and it was top notch from start to finish. I felt in good hands from the very start, and everything went smoothly. I like the decor, the staff were very friendly and efficient, the bar

Really pleased we found Hunters as it caters for coeliacs (gluten free) so no worries about choosing anything from the menu. A good selection of food to choose from as well as a bar if you fancy something alcoholic to accompany your meal.

Waited half hour for 2 cups of tea and breakfasts, only arrived after i went up and asked for it. Also charged £4.50 for 2 slices of bread and butter. 2nd time we have came here, same problem with waiting for ages the first time round and

Absolutely terrible. Arrived at 08:30 and sat down at a table. To then be told (only when I ordered) that this area was ‘only for people ordering food’ and that my clients and I, should move. Which we duly did… to a table which was dirty

Went out for lunch. Food was ok, though the children's food was mainly chips and a few fish goyjons that had a distinctively bottom of the packet look and some were massively overcooked, plus a little veg. Adults sandwich and crisps were

We used Hunters Catering for a 40th Birthday BBQ earlier this month and were delighted with them. Josh made the organisation very easy, with some great menu ideas including catering for young children and dietary restrictions. On the day

Possibly the worst place I’ve ever eaten, and not just because of the food. I arrived with my two young children for lunch and was asked to wait a moment as they were getting a table ready, 15 minutes later we were still waiting because

One of the best gluten free cafes in Bristol, I used to live in Bristol and have always gone here and now live in Somerset and will still travel across because without a doubt it has the best breakfast in Bristol. Suggestion would be to

I'm sorry to say that I will not be back...having written a positive review with the previous owners...I felt necessary to provide an updated review...at 830 in the morning it was clear that the cleaning from the day before had not been

Was a little worried when it was just us and one other person in there on a Saturday evening. They guy before us said the chips weren’t cooked. People working there said “we do it on a timer” as if that was a good enough answer. Decided

Great place for a relaxing meal or a coffee. You do get all kinds in here from groups of older people to young mums with preschool kids. That's never an issue. It is deceptively large, you can't tell from the outside, of which there is

  • Chris I

The food here was pretty good, but the service was pretty damn poor. It took ages for the woman at the bar (they don't take orders from the comfort of your table) to take the order, like 10 minutes for only 4 people (one course and one

Tonight had haddock & chips (takeaway). The staff were welcoming, friendly & polite and the whole place has a good feel about it. Now onto the food. OMG 10/10 these guys smashed it. Huge haddock cooked to perfection, chips were non

Really like hunters as a venue. Staff were polite and generally helpful. Had a full english, which on the whole was good. Toast very white. (Underdone). But staff rectified quickly.. Eggs on the underdone side also. Food not very

Went there at the suggestion of a friend, who's been there before. Great DF menu! Lots of choice which makes a nice change. I had the Hunter's Chicken which did not disappoint. Good service. Thanks, will definitely visit again.

For 1 slice of toast with jam and butter the cost was £4 -75 , disgusting, ask for wholemeal bread , but was white , the man managed to spill the coffee, there were no serviettes, very disappointed, won’t be going again More

  • Zanetta Sloper

Really slow service, promised free refills of coffee with the breakfast but the coffee came out 10 minutes after the breakfast, butter pack melted all over hot plate, no brown sauce. But Food was delicious!

  • linda down

Twice I've been for mini breakfast which was good only thing I would say think eggs should be fried or poached, not cooked on hot plate as the egg wasn't that good otherwise would have been 5 stars More

These guys are awesome and the food is amazing! They catered our wedding, and provided the bar and they were fab! So many of our guests have complimented them and said how great they were, as

Just held my father's funeral reception here. Food and drink greatly enjoyed by all those attending. Rear room has a nice wall for hanging and sticking memorabilia. Highly recommended!

  • Mark Hula

Under new management. Waited nearly 30 minutes for a simple breakfast roll . Place was virtually empty so not busy . Gave up . Got a refund . No explanation, no nothing . Won’t go

  • Lily Miriam Saona

We went here for lunch at a friend's suggestion who is local to the W-on-T area. Cafe located in a mostly residential shopping parade, so easy to find carparking ️ nearby.

  • Martin Miller

A nice place for a coffee and a cake, the indoor area is not air conditioned so sit outside if it's warm. Catering for private functions is good with its own bar too.

  • Jayne Macleod

Went on for coffee, mid afternoon Saturday. No clear tables, not many customers. Went to sit in back of shop. Was asked to move, whilst they cleared tables.

  • sea mills

really nice cafe atmosphere - cosy and clean. Had to wait a bit for my food order, but it was lovely when it arrived. Nice, smiley and helpful waiting staff.

  • Dan Rant

Reading the most recent comments, all from apparently local people, I either came on an off day or the establishment doesn't care much for strangers.
