A great relatively new cafe, exhibition and performance venue in Hoxton. Great coffee, great vibe: owned and warmly hosted by the delightful Montse. She's into objets trouve and experimental music.Definitely a place to watch. Today I experienced the entrancing sounds of Jericho Orchestra members with two small children on violin and cello improvising in the downstairs space. Hugo Madureira's beautiful gesso discs in blues and bronzes were laid out on the floor: it was the last day of his debut exhibition. His exquisitely crafted silver with japanned enamel rings were on sale in the cafe upstairs...when I'm rich.... Thanks for an inspiring afternoon: I'll be back for more.

If you're into contemporary music and art and you've not been here, you're in for a wonderful treat. This was a real find, similar in programming to Cafe Oto and Iklectik but small, friendly and very cool. It's very supportive of the local visual arts community and offers ticket prices that are very reasonable and a really nice bar/cafe. It's a cutting edge, cultural gem, I can't recommend it enough. If you want a moving, inspiring experience amongst a nice bunch of people, get down there without delay.

Strolled into the faux-bohemian, dead cafe setting. 3 silent women sat around (tea n biscuits society types). 'TICKETS' an prim looking, stuffy young knitters society type suddenly piped up as we reached the stairs at the end of the room - great social skills. The Website had not specified tickets for this event. In the noughties Hoxton was still and edgy frontier - a exciting place for Art - no longer, not with these sad, uptight, dull, petit bourgeois types now infesting it.

A great venue with character and atmosphere. The exhibitions here are always inspiring. There is also always a range of different books and music available as well. The posters on sale as well as the option of having tea or coffee here also make it a great place to visit for the music, workshops or exhibitions or just to relax.

Small gallery with performance space serving tea, coffee, alcoholic drinks and snacks. Always something new and interesting to see or attend. Staff always friendly and welcoming. Performance space is not wheelchair accessible as in the basement but the toilet is on the ground floor.

Our hosts created a super friendly, homely atmosphere with beautiful homemade food. Enjoyed a fantastic gig tonight and also the exhibition. Highly recommended to anyone who open-minded, like to spend time with music among original art.

Great place this, always something interesting going on here. Artwork on the walls by new / upcoming artists, jazz and improv sounds downstairs, and a friendly manager at the bar, decent selection of beers, teas, coffees and CAKE.

Great exhibitions of, often local, artists over two floors. Adventurous music programming. Community of regulars. Well-stocked cafe and bar, with well-sourced reading materials.

  • Alex Metslov

Small cute place, with nice host. Occasionally, there are events provided as well. Variety of coffees and teas, minor cake choice. Dialer for group of 2-4 people at once.

Go to this space, for the true sense of how galleries used to be pre east London gentrification. Quirky, interesting and alot of character.

  • Jono Podmore

Excellent and poignant exhibition by experimental photographer Ky Lewis. Super friendly staff capable of a most encouraging gin and tonic

It's just run by a lovely friend of mine though the art is often a bit suspect in my opinion.

Run by nice people - basement is particularly good for shows that need to control light
