Hidden Jewel in the Oltrarno Knowing how expensive Firenze accommodations are, we took advantage of a great rate offer from highly-rated Hotel David for their Economy Double room on the first floor. We stayed overnight on October 10, still part of high-season for Firenze tourism. The advertisement for the room seemed to downplay expectations. But we were in for a great surprise: the room isn’t as small as they claim it to be - it’s bigger than standard hotel rooms in many towns and cities in Italy. More classy and well-furnished with period furniture. There’s a comfortable well-dressed double bed and night stands with electrical outlets on both sides of the bed. There’s a small table with an upholstered chair. A wooden dresser with a place to hang clothes in hangers. There’s a large window although it had no views (another building on the other side) - it’s fine because we were out most of the day and the privacy curtains let in daylight if needed. The hotel has a large salon where guests can relax on some sofas and arm chairs. There’s a nice garden with lots of seating for guests to eat their snacks or simply relax among the trees and plants. The hotel offers free water (bottled and from a hot/cold dispenser), some snacks and early evening cocktails. The breakfast was quite satisfying- meats, eggs, fruits, cereals, coffees and juices. The hotel staff are very nice and friendly and spoke English very well. Easily Accessible to the centro storico, train stations, and other points in the city. Multiple bus lines within a 1-3 minutes walk. Easy taxi ride. And they have parking if you bring a car. It was truly a great and very pleasant surprise to get so much value for what we paid. I stayed here last month and i loved it so much that i have booked a second stay for December! The staff are so friendly and kind, the food at happy hour and breakfast is amazing. The croissants are to die for, the fruit is fresh, the wine is great quality and so is the salami. The rooms are spotless, spacious and comfortable. The rooms also have shutters which are perfect for keeping the sun out. I never heard any noise or disturbance. The location is just right as you are not far from the center (10-15 min walk if that) but far enough away that it has lots of local authentic Italian restaurants nearby. It also has lovely bars nearby too. Overall, i cannot recommend Hotel David enough. Thank you so much to the team ❤️

We have recently returned from a family trip to Florence and it was made all the better for staying at the Hotel David. It is not too far from the centre of Florence (About 15 min walk to the Ponte Vecchio) but there is a bus stop immediately outside and you can buy the tickets at reception. We also used the e-scooters to get back to the hotel which was great fun. Just download the app and it will show you where the nearest collection and drop off points are. There are really good cycle/scooter lanes all along both sides of the river, although in the centre the cobbled streets can be a bit rough! The included Breakfast and Happy Hour are outstanding value and the selection of food and drink on offer are great. There is a really nice outside terrace and indoor room for breakfasts, and the beautiful garden at the front of the hotel is an amazing space for the “Happy Hour” which normally lasts more like 2 hours. The breakfasts kept us going so well we didn’t even need lunch most days, maybe just some gelato or a light snack at a piazza in the city centre. The rooms are nice and clean and very comfortable, we had no issues at all with our accommodation. The free, and easily programmed safe alongside the fridge which you can use to store your 3 free drinks per day or unlimited still/sparkling water were also welcome additions. We are already planning our next stay to see the christmas markets and Florence at a different time of year.

Best hotel stay experience ever had anywhere. The premise is quite secured. I was able to park inside and felt safe even leaving stuff inside my car. The staff was super friendly and helpful; amazing customer service. The instructions at the check in was very clear for all you need. The rooms were pretty clean and well managed given that it is built in old building. The breakfast was pretty good and again the staff was available for any help. There was option of sitting outside on kind of terrace for fresh air. The stay included free water bottles and soda (not one but multiple) and happy hour with a drink (wine/beer) and snacks. The location is somewhat away from city center but is manageable by either walking or you have option of taking a bus (you can buy bus tickets at reception as well). I liked the location as it was away from commotion at the city center. Actually, the site for sunset is pretty close from here. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone who want to stay few days in Florence; it will make your stay better by staying here. Believe me, I am real customer and not made up.

Oh my God! This place is awesome. We was there only one day but we will definitely return. I didn't thought that it will be even better than on the photos. Everyone is helpful and nice. We also got a city map with all the interesting places to visit. They also make a reservation in a restaurant or call a taxi if you want. Bus tickets can also be purchased at the reception. The bus stop is like 5 meter far from the building. The place is very clean and our room had also a very nice city view from the balcony. We had everything we needed. It has such a great atmosphere, we loved the coffee corner. ❤️ Also i have to mention that the breakfast was a big variety and very very delicious!! And the only place which offered free soda and snacks too! And not to mention that the whole place tries to avoid wastes and protects the environment on different ways for example with the refillable water bottles or soap dispensers. We liked everything there!

Hotel David was an amazing experience, and our favorite hotel during our recent trip to Italy. The staff were friendly and knowledgable, with someone always available if we had any questions. The hotel is situated just far enough away from the city center, with about a 20 minute walk along the water, so that it is quiet but still feels accessible. There is also a bus that was incredibly easy to use that picks up right outside of the hotel. There are excellent restaurants in the neighborhood where we also had some of our favorite meals. While the mattress was a little firm for me, my husband loved it and it did not take away from our stay. The breakfast that was offered every morning had a wide variety of options and was a great way to start the day. We didn’t make it to their happy hour, but this was offered every evening as well with drinks and snacks. Highly recommend this hotel for your stay and we will be returning if we ever make it back to Florence!

I was very impressed with the overall experience. The value of accommodation is not in its brilliant interior or luxurious furniture, but in the sincere consideration and hospitality of the people who run it. The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood. The rooms are small but cozy, and they are all decorated in a traditional Tuscan style. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was clean and well appointed. The staff at Hotel David were very friendly and helpful. I felt hotel David like an oasis in Florence where visitors can take a relax and escape the hustle and bustle of the city and feels like home. The small peaceful garden and cozy room would be the perfect place to relax after a long day of sightseeing I had a wonderful stay at Hotel David. It is a great place to stay if you are looking for a comfortable, affordable, and centrally located hotel in Florence.

As a travel agent, I am very picky ... but they think of everything!! The hotel is immaculate, the staff is warm and friendly, they have lots of rooms with balconies, parking is free, the location is fantastic, and they think of everything. Hotel David gives you 24 hour self serve coffee and tea, 3 complimentary non-alcoholic drinks per day, complimentary water in your room, and there is a daily happy hour that allows guests to mingle with an honor bar and complimentary snacks. To clarify about the location ... I prefer an area that is not in the thick of things, but where you can easily walk everywhere. The Arno River is right there, follow the river and you visit Oltrarno and San Frediano (less touristy), cross the bridge and you're in the heart of the city, walk away from the city and you are in a real neighborhood with restaurants, shops, wine bars, good prices, no tourism. Lastly, walk up the hill to hear that Gregorian Chants at San Miniato al Monte!! ENJOY ;)

Had an amazing stay at Hotel David in January 2024 for 3 nights. We booked a superior room with a city view and balcony. The staff could not have made us feel more welcome and were extremely helpful. Breakfast was available, eggs, bacon, full continental and they had a great selection - we went every morning before starting our day in the city. How this hotel is only 3 star I don’t know, as the service and accommodation was excellent. Happy hour is provided with drinks and snacks every-night and was a great way to meet other guests. Main sights are about a 20 minute walk across the river which was perfect for us and the hotel provides info on many amazing restaurants and delis near by. I would highly recommend for a stay when in Florence and would definitely be back. Thank you!

We had an outstanding stay at this wonderful boutique hotel in Florence. Personal service, great location in a beautifully maintained property with all the charm and character of an older Italian building. The room was beautiful and very comfortable, including the beds and linens. The main floor lounge was a lovely option to hang out in. The self-serve coffee and complimentary refreshment area was a welcome delight, including the ability to fill your water bottle with either still or sparkling water. Enjoyed the evening happy hour with the other guests. Nice opportunity to meet others. Lovely breakfast room with a wonderful included breakfast. Highly recommend. This exceeded all of our expectations.

The David Hotel is wonderful. It is perhaps a 15-20 walk to the historic area of Florence, close to the river but a step back from it, making it a quiet enclave. The front desk folks are very helpful. Breakfast was great, with a number of good options - there is also a happy hour in the early evening in the courtyard with wine and snacks. There is an espresso machine available all day (with decaf options) and tea. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. The hotel has a light touch about it - it's obvious those in charge have a great sense of humor. It was, for my wife and I, the perfect launch spot for visiting Florence.

This is an absolutely charming place to stay when visiting Florence. We stayed in a lovely room on the top floor with a balcony overlooking The dome in the distance. A skylight above the bed shows you the sky when you open your eyes in the morning. This place has character, is rustic and authentic without being ostentatious. The staff is friendly and very helpful. At the reception they are always welcoming and willing to assist, the lady who organised breakfast stood out as working very hard to please everyone with a smile. The free drinks and happy hour are a lovely gesture.

I am quite impressed by the overall experience in David Hotel. Once I enters the hotel, the petite garden is a surprise of beauty. A antique car and small tables with chairs are well located. After passing by the garden, the reception staff are quite cordial and friendly. Whatever question you ask, they answer with patience and smile. They provide drinks and snacks, even though I came a long way and felt exhausted, suddenly all these feelings had gone. The room is clean and decorated with classical decorations, and the roof is high, give me a great sense of space. Above all, staying in David Hotel is not like living a hotel but a cozy home.

I stayed several hotels while traveling Europe, but this is my number one hotel! All the decorations and interiors literally reflect that I am in Firenze! The room is very big. The staff are very friendly and kind to explain every detail of using this hotel and traveling around the city. Also l, I really enjoyed free coffee and well-prepared breakfast. I will definitely book this hotel when I come back to Firenze.

Abbiamo pernottato due notti ed é stato tutto magnifico: servizio curato, stanze pulite e ordinate, parcheggio compreso anche dopo il check out, colazione abbondante e ottima, aperitivo offerto dalla struttura, posizione abbastanza vicino al centro. La ciliegina sulla torta é di sicuro l'estrema gentilezza di tutto il personale e la cura degli ospiti...al compleanno del mio conpagno hanno fatto trovare una gradita sorpresa. A presto!

I spent 4 nights at Hotel David and couldn't have been more impressed by the service and accommodations of the hotel. The staff is super friendly and welcoming and was always available to help me out with travel or any other questions or needs I had. The property is close walking distance to all that Florence has to offer and the room was spacious, clean, and provided everything I needed. Whenever I am back in Florence I will 100% be staying at Hotel David. 10/10 would reccomend!

Lovely hotel with a cute garden, quiet romantic, clean and cozy. The rooms are big for Europe, with high ceiling, nice Tuscany decor, clean and cozy. There is a happy hour (6:30-8pm) when the hotel provides with free snacks (pizza, sandwiches, baked goods, variety of wine, champagne). People who work here are very helpful, kind and friendly. Amazing service!

Hotel David is an amazing hotel. The grounds are beautiful. Reception texted us through WhatsApp to help us navigate our way to the hotel. The common rooms are adorned with beautiful pieces of art. We really enjoyed the free soda a day. The happy hour was so cool!! Our room was fantastic, and all the amenities were great. Having the bus stop right outside is also incredibly convenient. If we return, we’d definitely stay here again!!

Wonderful service, fantastic location. Very clean. We highly recommend getting a breakfast room as it made starting our day so easy. The happy hour was so wonderful as it took place on their lovely terrace (and they have blankets out there!!!) We will be coming back

Very comfortable hotel, near the center. There was free parking, and the bus stop was right in front. There‘s pastries and free coffee all day, plus a free happy hour with snacks and wine.

Ottimo se volete andare al centro. Utile anche perchè si trova di fronte alla fermata dell'autobus che ti porta verso il ponte vecchio che a sua volta è vicino al centro. Personale coordiale e competente.
