My name is Tiffany Davis, and I want to tell you about my day. I work in the medical field and work all day. I didn't even take lunch. I left work to rush to the hospital—my grandfather isnt doing well. My cousins and I decided to stop at the Omni Dallas to grab dinner. It was my suggestion. Did I mention that it is now 6pm, and im just having my first meal of the day? The lady at the Bar was really standoffish! No hospitality, nothing genuine about the whole encounter. I brushed it off and told myself hey; you had a long day; let it slide. Sitting about four chairs down, my cousin asked me if I was ok. he noticed her demeanor toward me. I told him to let it go. When she came to bring me my food, I asked for a ranch. She acts as if im not there. Doesn't acknowledge me or anything! About 20 minutes go by she brings out more food. I asked again can I please have some ranch. She looks at me, clutches her tray, rolls her eyes, and walks off as if I said nothing. By that time, I went in and asked for a manager. The guy says I have someone. as he goes to get them, it's another black lady talking to him. she goes I see you have the same problem as me. They have shown me no hospitality either. He comes back with the so-called manager, and it's the lady who is rude. So I then proceed to head across to the hotel for help. The guy from the hotel walks me back over, and my cousin tells me the manager was rude too. Said he told her that they have customers spend 300 dollars on a single table. As if her money was nothing. Not only that, when I came back, the manager was a guy. after me asking and being told its no one to talk to but her. Im not sure what entirely happened when I left. im speaking from experience. I didn't take the refund or the offer of fresh food. I wanted no parts. I am deeply hurt and embarrassed. To go somewhere and be mistreated because of your skin tone. I feel even worse because I was the one who brought my family into that atmosphere.

Excellent fried chicken. Everything is a La carte so don’t forget to order some loaded tots or corn riblets. Hot sandwich is a great choice, not super hot but great flavor, don’t be scared away by the kale slaw (you won’t notice a difference). Bread is a potato roll I think? Slightly sweet with a nice crust and texture. Loaded Tots come in a light beer cheese with bacon bits and other goodies. Will need a fork, but worth ordering. The street corn riblets are excellent, but you do have to eat it off the quarter of cob it comes off of. If you don’t mind the method it is very tasty, though I personally would prefer off the cob kernels. Got the Cobb salad to go. I do wish the dressing and chicken had come on the side for better transport and squares of cheese is a little funky. Admittedly getting a salad at a fried chicken places seems silly, but if you have something on a limited menu, details are important. That being said, the recipient claimed it was fantastic. I was stuffed with sandwich and tots. Would definitely come back.

If you’re looking for a place to eat near Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, here’s one. Hops & Hens. Might be the best chicken tenders I’ve ever had. The H&H sauce is sort of like Cane’s sauce. Tenders have very plump white meat and are big. Order of 4 filled me up. Once your order is taken, you are served fairly quickly without too much wait. Keep your number on your table and they will find you… but I gave the wait staff a heads-up where I was sitting so they could find me quicker. Many of the wait staff speak Spanish. Outside seating on a beautiful day is so nice with everyone one walking around town and the Dallas downtown in view. If you come on a day with events at the convention center, don’t be surprised if the line is long and going out the door; but that will be typical of every restaurant at that time. Also, be aware that there may be 2 or 3 points of sale, so take a peak inside at the far end of the bar, and even walk all the way outside as sometimes they are taking orders from a register out there too.

Great place for a drink and good food! We were able to get seating on a very busy evening after a robotics tournament at the nearby convention center. It was a bit of a wait for the food.....had to stand in line to order, then wait more for the food to arrive....but understandable because the place was absolutely packed. The beer selection was amazing and I tried a few different ones which were ALL great. The chicken sandwich I got was quite awesome, a big portion and VERY good. One of the better non-chain restaurant chicken sandwich I've had. The location cannot be beat and the view of the downtown skyline is wonderful. Service from everyone there was impeccable despite being packed. Facilities were clean and well maintained. Atmosphere was positive and energetic. I'm not going to give them less than 5 stars just because the place was packed and we had to wait to eat. It was worth the wait.

Although I visited on a Wednesday night, when it seemed like my foursome were one of the few living survivors of the apocalypse, Hops and Hens was a very welcome safe house. Service was exceptional even though we had to order at the bar since there was only one waiter for the whole place (he was not terribly busy either, but super friendly and attentive). While our chicken tenders were hand battered and fried up, we played that beanbag toss game (dont even tell me it had one common name) out on the patio. Simple food review... you would expect chicken in this place to be done right and it was. Definitely a hit that should be visited by any other remaining human beings in downtown Dallas.

Hop & Hens are the Best Chicken Tenders I've ever had. Thick Cut of White Chicken Meat. The Breading is Perfect. Not thick and not just breading. Just the perfect bite of tender in one! Don't let me forget their dipping sauces....there isn't a bad one! The hostess and staff are Amazing and very knowledgable, of all the food options and the beers on tap:) What a great little place to stop and have a small bite to eat or a quick sip, of a cold beer of tap! My kind of friendly local spot. Too bad , I'm just a traveler. Til my next visit in Dallas.

Great location if you're staying at the Omni or attending a function at the convention center. The atmosphere is nice with walls of windows that open up to the outdoor dining area. However, the chicken is heavily breaded. Some parts of the breading were not fully cooked. I assumed the tots were tater tots, but in retrospect I don't think they were made of any organic matter, just air and breading cooked to a crisp. It seems to have a decent bar so if you're here to drink and then get hungry, you will find the food to be edible, but nothing more.

Great selection of draft beer. The best chicken tenders ever with the right seasoning and flavores. More like chicken breast than chicken tender. The side items are unique and complete the hens. This restaurant has been my go-to place to eat for the last five months. It has the cutest atmosphere. There is a large outside patio with a fireplace at night with lots of seating. Inside there is a long top bar with seating and tables all around. It even has an open kitchen view to see the fantastic cooks at work. However, my favorite part that makes this restaurant stand out is its food and staff. Everyone I have encountered at Hops & Hens has been highly accommodating and inviting. AND THEIR CHICKEN IS TO DIE FOR! It has the perfect amount of crunch, juiciness, and flavor!

Self-serve restaurant. The chicken tenders were well breaded and well seasoned. Tots were good and crispy, but the ma and cheese was odd. It was luck warm and had a handful of cold shredded cheese on top, confusing but still tasty. Beer is served in 22oz cups and is all 11$. This confused me at first because I didn't know the size and questioned the price. Very good though!

They were extremely busy during the time that I arrived. They did mess up my order of 2 TX hot tenders with mac n cheese. The menu is á la carte with sensible prices. I was able to find seating. The costumer service seemed a little rushed. The IPA Honey Mustard had a great flavor profile.

The place had one customer inside upon walking in, that should've been the first red flag. Although friendly, the server was very confused and struggled to get our orders correct. We had to repeat our order about 4 different times and the order still wasn't correct. The tater tots were cold, the chicken tenders were swimming in grease, and the macaroni was more pasta than cheese. To top it off, there was a hair in one of the tenders. Gave the place a shot, but definitely would not come back or recommend.

I never write negative reviews for establishments until my dad contacted me that while dining at hops and hens, the manager radically profiled him and harassed him to explain what group he was with. He had a company hat on and sat with other colleagues, but yet he was the only one questioned and harassed in front of everyone. If that is how the GM of a newly opened establishment treats people of color, then I am very sad to say that this will hurt the owners and future guests. Never eat here without first understanding how management will treat POC.

  • Roli Eats

On a recent trip to Dallas I stopped by Hops & Hens to check out their chicken game. Fun spot, fun menu, tasty chicken... but they committed the cardinal sin of chicken sandwiches and made the bread horrible!! A good chicken sandwich deserves bread that can handle that chicken!! Such a shame ‍♂️ Service here was great and very friendly!! #rolieats #rolitravels #chickensandwich #breadfail #chickensandwichsin

A staff member most likely the manager profiled me at a private event. I was wearing a hat that a lot of people was wearing it in my group and she singled me out and told me that this was a private event and asked which group I was with in there insinuating that I had sneaked in. I did not see her ask anyone else for this information prior or after the incident. I looked around and I was the only brown Latino at the event. Shame on you!! I was having a good time and she ruined my mood!

We were in town for the NCA National Championships and we were staying across the street at the Omni Hotel. We came in for dinner on Saturday and our whole family has been sick with food poisoning ever since. It is now Monday and are still sick. Can’t eat or even keep a drink of water down. We had to drive back to Tulsa sick, which was the most horrible travel I had ever experienced. Maybe it was just an off night when we came in but we will never step foot in that place again.

  • joanna anguiano

Food was good but the add to this do you have not seen a person that has a big enough mouse to be able to place the chicken ranch sandwich in their mouth. My husband had to chop the tenders up to be able to place it in the sandwich Io on the other hand, just wrapped one of the chicken strips Wes the lettuce, and called it a day my personal opinion, but for what I spent which was over $100 not worth it I won’t be coming back

While staying at the Omni I ordered Hops and Hens to be delivered. The chicken strips were tasty and tender. I loved the macaroni and cheese, it was so tasty. I was a little sad by the sauces, I didn't use all of them because I didn't like the taste. I would recommend getting food from here.

My partner and I live in Dallas and looking for a chicken restaurant we came across this place. We absolutely love it! The chicken is perfectly crispy and juicy. Chicken tenders were very oily. I think they failed in trying to raise the level of Chicken Tenders. Also taking a risk in just doing chicken tenders. Although part of the Omni their rent must be astronomical for a chicken tender specialized restaurant.

Stopped here twice during a stay at the Omni and it's not a bad spot for a quick decent meal. The only options for an entree you really have are chicken sandwiches or chicken tenders, but they're both pretty good. The staff was awesome both times, very friendly, and the service was pretty quick. Decent selection of beers, although not as many as I was hoping for with a name that includes "Hops".

  • Jason Lee

Decent place to get a meal that is nearby the convention center. The chicken tenders were good, though not the most convenient shape to fit in a sandwich. The salad was a bit expensive for a pretty basic salad that does not come with chicken tenders automatically.

Older Bartender female is incredibly rude. Meal was 16.24 and wad charged 17 because they didn't have change. Didn't tell me they were rounding up. When I noticed it and said I believe you forgot my change, their response was "whadda want me to do, get a manager." Not the hospitality you'd expect from a bartender...

Nice people, service is good and fast. Reason for the low rating is that this is probably one of the worst chicken tenders I’ve ever had and for the price it seems high. They use two tenders for sandwiches which also seems strange.

Front desk staff is very nice, bathrooms are very clean. It's a nice store to wait for RedCoach bus. Tater tots are fresh and crispy but the portion size could be better

  • kevin K,

Was in town for a convention and need something quick. Glad I stopped in they have raised the level of taste in chicken strips !!! I order the Texan and the mac and cheese. Also for the beer drinker they have many options.

Incredible chicken sandwiches. My new favorite. Great outdoor seating. Great servers. Not cheap (the only reason I didn’t rate 5 stars).

I've been to 26 countries and had TONS of chicken (I used to bodybuild) This is probably some of the best chicken I've had in my life. Compliments to the sous chef Grant and Sara the bartender. Great service.

  • Mark Collingwood

Walked in and no one said h, hello, can I help you, just stares. Whole thing was extremely uncomfortable, so I walked out and left will never be back.

Location was great for my conference. The staff was super friendly. Originally we were at Cafe Herrera near by, but we left because the host was awful. It was nice to come here and great customer service.

I don’t know how this place can only be 4.1 stars, the food is absurdly good. Best chicken tenders I’ve ever had. Best sides. Everything is AMAZING!

May very well be the best chicken tenders I’ve ever had. Make sure to have them toss it in Texas Heat. Phenomenal. Great beer selections as well. A little pricy due to the location but worth it.

Chicken strips to die for and a good selection of beers in a casual sports bar like atmosphere minus the TVs.
