"Horrible customer service"
As a regular customer here, I love to shop at this place. However, today my shopping experience was bad. I went to the shop with three shopping bags. When I was putting the groceries on the counter next to the cashier (I put 5 bunches of veggies which occupied the whole space) and waiting for the cashier to scan my items( I still have things in my bag waiting to pay), there was a lady with black long hair approach me said she would like to check my bag. I showed her the bag on my shoulder with receipt from other shop, and she wanted to check other bags. I showed her another empty one, and then she would like to check the bag with the items still waiting to be paid. ( I haven't get the chance to put my groceries up to the counter because she was talking to me) I told her that this bag need to be paid. This lady confirmed with me for the second time, then she went to back of the cashier. When I was finally able to keep going with the check out, I saw the black long hair lady hold her mobile phone with camera facing towards me in about 1 m distance. I am not judging this behavior but I don't know what she was doing. I can totally understand that the shop wants to prevent the theft and would like to check the bag, but can you please do this after check out. It makes no sense that you check my bag while I am still putting things on the counter. The way I have been questioning by the lady was very unpleasant. Please use common sense and hopefully the shop owner can improve this situation in the future.
That Asian old lady is very unprofessional and rude, demanding customers to put their shopping bag at front counter or being looked over like a thief. One star is over rated. I receive way better service at coles and woolies. In addition, I’ve been to other Asian groceries in Chinatown and not only they have more products, but the customer service is also way better, and thereby giving customer a more comfortable experience leaving us to want to go back the next time. Thus I urge you all to go to other Asian groceries in China than this Hong Kong grocery. It is not tolerable to receive this kind of insensitive treatment from the Asian old lady at the front to us who supports your business. And obviously after all this business really don’t deserve our support. So I will not purchase any products from here. Therefore I may suggest this business to come up with a better intervention to treat your customers or have products that makes you stand out from other nearby because this shop really don’t stand out when other nearby clearly have a broader range of products from Asian that are high in quality under an acceptable price that are sold in a welcoming environmental that attracts customers. I mean, in short, just don’t come here. Pay elsewhere that treats you with respect. No need to support this business here.
The staff was so rude, accused me of stealing JUST BECAUSE I had an extra plastic bag, containing things from another asian supermarket. she dug through my plastic bag, even though I already showed her my receipt which clearly stated all the products (excluding mushrooms that were my friends), she accused me of stealing seaweed, which was FIRST on the receipt, and when I pointed it out that it was there and i did not steal anything, she just rolled her eyes. Incredibly rude/ and did not apologise. Do not go here, there are much better and cheaper asian supermarkets nearby Chinatown. The things are messily labelled so that you would not know the accurate prices, and based on friends' personal experience, her mother was overcharged with extra things she did not purchase. All my experiences here are bad, as staff are incredibly unfriendly, and for what? Unpleasant experience, and based off other reviews, clearly did not change despite the negative feedback given by other previous customers. I recommend going to Homes supermarket instead which is very close by. The staff in this discussion is the lady with embroidered eyebrows, very rude and disrespectful I understand that theft is a common occurrence at this store based on one reply from the supermarket, but it is NO EXCUSE to be so rude. Worst experience ever.
I have been to this store a number of times and every time I go there I seem to face racial discrimination from the staff. Today I went to the store with my friend to pick up a few things and as I was walking around the store I see a middle aged lady with long black hair, who usually stands at the front of the store, follow me and continuously peek/stare at me as if I was trying to steal something. I found this behaviour quite disgusting as she only did that with me and no one else at the store, quite obviously due to me being from a different race. My friend (same race as me) was waiting for me at the counter with a bag from another store and the same lady was walking around him, as if to check the contents of the bag, in an extremely intrusive manner. I understand the store would like to reduce any chances of theft but with this racist attitude it is only going to lose customers.
Horrible customer service. One old lady(maybe new staff) standing near the door was so harsh. I went into the shop to buy a few items (less than 10 minutes) and while in the queue to pay, she insisted me to put my bag in front. I told her I am leaving already and just waiting to pay. In fact, I spent less than 10 minutes in the shop and just quickly grab the things I wanted to buy from the shelf without looking around. Later she wanted to check my bag and I let her do so. Not using common sense at all! When you could see the customer went to the shelf and straight to the cashier to make payment, what is that to check!!! Obviously, she is checking every customer like a thief!!! How to improve business in Chinatown if the customer service is so terrible? No star!!
The variety of Asian foods there is great but I wasn't pleased with their customer service, while I was checking out the cashier looked unbothered and didn't even bother to say hi. I understand that they must be having a bad day but what was worse was when I misunderstood how much money I was supposed to pay. She spoke Chinese and said $71 dollars which I mistook for $41 to which she repeated in English in a really rude tone like I was dumb or something. Right after that she just dumped my things into a bag to which I was rushed to put my money away as she started to serve other customers. REALLY RUDE. This is not the first time that I've met rude staff members. I hope this grocery really contemplates who they employ before they start losing customers.
I like the range of items here as I can get certain things that most other Asian grocery stores don't stock, however, you should be careful and check the expiry dates. Not sure how prevalent it is throughout the store, but in the snack/chips aisle, there were a lot of different items that had expired earlier in 2021 (around March to May). I also accidentally bought an expired product as I forgot to check it lol.
You will be shocked by those very rude staff - don't go there & there are plenty of better choices in China town for Asian grocery shopping. The staff there lack of basic respect for customers, which let you feel like you're not in Australia. Are they all from Hongkong? The shopping experience let me feel they should go back to HK to carry forward their poor upbringing and rudeness. Disgusted!
Very disappointing, It happened few times already , the showing price on the shelf is not matching with receipt, therefore always make sure you have a receipt, otherwise u would never know how much they charge you. Even u tell the cashier the issue, no apology or any other solution. they only said that they just didn’t change the price immediately..very poor customer service by rude staffs
Very poor service! One of young female staff complained that a customer grabbed a wrong shopping trolley and said the consumer is blind person. The consumer coincidentally can understand her language which made the consumer feel very offensive. The staff did not apologise for her words and even had an argument with the consumer in a very rude manner. All what happened is very unbelievable.
I go here usually as they have a range of products, tea eggs and fresh buns. Today I asked the young lady for pork bun (鲜肉大包),went home and found out it's custard bun, bit sad Customer service is fine for me, but I did notice the cashier lady seems to be annoyed when answering queries when a lady customer was asking her if they have an item in stock in non peak hours
Very rude staff, as a black woman I stepped into the shop for less than 30 seconds. I didn't even pass the cashier and they demanded to search my bag. I only had time to scan the qr code before the staff said they need to search me. The old lady working there is racist she didn't do that to anyone else but since I was black she did it to me. I'm never shopping there again
it is my first time to buy the product, but it has Armonia smell, i made a call to ask if i can return or not, they said okay just bring the product and receipt, the next day when i came there, the employer said if i afried of the smell, why i bought it? She refused to let me return the product. I dont like the way they treat customer!
Not the most friendliest and knowledgeable staff. Asked about the difference between the 2 type of canned abalones that they carried and was told there's not difference. Turned out one is from the US and the more expensive one is from Australia....how is it possible that the staff not knowing what they sell....major failure for a shop.
Amazing place to buy good prices asian( east asian in particular ) groceries here. Be it frozen food like buns, dumplings, ingredients for hotpot or quick snacks like mochi, moon cake or veggies, they have lots of options. The staff members are helpful and welcoming and this place is a must for shopping groceries in Chinatown.
Asian grocery in Chinatown. Has a large variety of Asian foods as well as some western brands. All types of sauces, noodles, herbs and spices as well as meats, frozen foods and Asian soft drinks. A bit cramped inside and you have to have an idea of what you are looking for, but will probably have anything you are looking for.
Terrible, utterly terrible. This fine establishment demands their customers to check each and every grocery bag and, demands said bags to be placed on their front counter. I get it, I really do but this isn't the way. Unprofessional, rude, anxiety- inducing and inconvenient. I got better places to visit for my groceries.
Good place for shopping Asian groceries, but not vegs, sometimes they are unfresh and awful. Prices are relatively cheap but most of them are not being marked clearly, so i have to go all the way to the price checking machine near the counter. Customer service is ok, but the women who is in charge is unfriendly.
the customer service was atrocious. i was with my African friend looking for candy and the two cashiers were eyeing us down, when we later proceeded to go to the checkout they both asked to check her pockets and take her jumper off because they thought she was stealing. very disappointed. #BLACKLIVESMATTER!!
Good, few staff are very nice but others really rude. I dont mind to come back here. I wish I can read mandarin because I bought many wrong stuff few times. Few staff can't speak English which is can understand. But please don't be rude. The price aren't many different with other as well. Thank you
Not the most pleasant shopping experience. Shop was untidy as if not cleaned in months, some items were way past expiry and the organisation was poor making it hard to find anything. Staff not friendly or welcoming and was overcharged with no receipt given. Not going back here for sure
Be careful how much did you pay before you walk out the shop. The receipt always showed the wrong money, wrong items and they could overcharge you. Also the cashier is never help costumer bagging their stuff. No price tags on every items or shelves is so annoying as well.
I was walking through the store with my two friends when I saw a middle-aged woman, who usually stands in the front, following me around and gazing at me all the time through aile as if I was attempting to steal something. This creepy behaviour made me feel disgusted.
今天店内的老女人,根本不会安排,人很多排队结账,她跟不能做店内的管理者,安排非常不好,还用手碰我,非常讨厌。这么低素质管理者不应该用。 Please tell the old woman, DO NOT TOUCH customers..if she doesn't know how to manage the queue, get out from the shop, change a proper manager then.. very low level service.
I’ve been here before to buy an alcoholic drink called Soju so I went back there this Saturday afternoon to repurchase some for a house warming, the woman asked for my ID. I understood her reasoning as I often get asked, I only turned 18
Shocking customer service. The girl at the counter service doesn’t seem like she wants to be there at all. Threw all my shoppings into my shopping bag, packet of chips on the bottom and heavy cans she threw them on the top. No greetings
A place for groceries shopping, specifically Asian food. I could find a lots of food from my mother country the store, however the place is quite messy and it is hard to find the goods you are looking for at a glance.
Possibly my new favourite asian grocery store. There is so much variety here, and tons of cold drinks to choose from. This store is also a lot cleaner than most asian grocery stores I've been in, which is a big bonus.
Staff not too helpful. Plenty of stock, a good range, but a bit untidy. Just walk up down the aisles to find what you're looking for. Very little written in the English language. Ok if you speak Chinese.
Good range of Asian groceries, including fresh food like vegetables, tofu and noodles. They stock many different sauces, preserves and dry ingredients, medicinal herbs, and big range of instant noodles.
We have always been a regular customer here. However, I have encountered a very rude staff. Do not waste your time and money here! We love shopping at Thuan Phat supermarket which is nearby :)
They have most of the things I need from China. But the guy there. One guy is very rude. I said hi 3 times , not even a word from him. And eventually not even offered me bag. Very rude.
I passed over the shop many times and wondered whether I should get shopping there. Last week I stepped in and purchased a bag of green team pumpkin kernel. It tastes like rotten wood.
I mean its a nice little shop, but I don't really appreciate being obviously watched by staff assuming I'm stealing, lol. At least make it a little less obvious.
Went in to buy some stuff. Upon paying the female cashier was extremely rude and don't have basic manners, wonder whose the parents. Shame on you all !!!
Don't like the old owner is checking Asians bag like a thief....and is being so rude to Asian as if we don't have money to spend at her shop
Too rude!!! I can’t believe that male staff at count scream at customer… and receipt shows wrong item info! Like price of product!
One of my favourite go to supermarkets as always has what I need and lovely owner and her advice is spot on ❤ …
A wide variety of groceries from all over Asia at competitive prices. A great place for drinks and snacks.
Great selection of Asian food and ingredients. Now has a range of remaining Chinese New Year cookies.
Good place for Asian food but most of cashers were unkind very much. I feel it whenever I go there.
Broken pakage of frozen coco juice. I lost my 4doller and have to clean freeze for sprit out liquid
Zero customer service, staff don’t even wanna open their mouth to talk to you. pricey as well
There is no price tag on most of the items. The staff at checkout is unfriendly and rude.
周六来了一次 非常棒的购物经验 员工都很有礼貌 特别是那个男员工 我因为国语不好 只会说粤语 他会有耐性地跟我解释 热心助人 特别赞扬 …
Great variety of food with very good prices, right in the middle of the Markets.
The Chinese female of salesperson is rude. Poor service. Terrible attitude.
The prices are higher than other places and they keep getting higher
Terrible customer service! The Asian old lady is 100% a racist.
