After several years of taking other family members dogs to Holt, I decided to take my dog Jaxon there as well. He was seen the first time because he had injured his back. I followed their instructions and gave the prescribed medications. Within 5-6 days, Jax was running after the squirrels and jumping up on furniture again - even though he was not supposed to be jumping. He is a mini dachshund and dachshunds are notoriously hard headed, stubborn and do not like being told “no” about anything. He has been fine so far. I dropped him off this week for a bath, nail clip and to check some small skin irritations that he was biting and scratching. Long before time to pick him up, Dr Bratton called me, he had done a scraping of one of the places Jax was scratching, examined it under a microscope and determined it to be an allergy. Dr Bratton explained how he would treat Jax with my permission. I appreciated the phone call and of course approved the planned treatment. When I picked Jaxon up, he was glad to see me, but when we got home, he wouldn’t jump down out of the car as he usually does. I lifted him out of the car and he went inside straight to his bed. He wouldn’t eat his supper and didn’t play with my other dog at all. I finally realized that he had received his yearly vaccinations plus two additional injections for the allergic reaction affecting his skin. He just looked like he felt bad and was very lethargic. I thought maybe he had hurt his back again so I gave him a dose of his medicine that had been prescribed with his original injury. The next morning he was his usual little obnoxious, nosy, barking incessantly self, but thankfully not biting and scratching himself nearly as much as before. I will certainly use Holt Clinic in the future but hopefully only routine visits. The ladies at the front desk are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The gentlemen who take the dogs back are patient and very gentle with the dogs. Each veterinarian we have seen has been so very nice and have been spot on with their diagnosis and treatments. I so appreciated Dr Bratton calling me and asking for permission to treat Jaxon’s skin condition. I had not asked anyone for a call, I had no idea which doctor would examine him. Thank you Holt Clinic for seeing and treating Jaxon.

My cat accidentally ingested leaves from Peruvian lilies we found in a bouquet from the grocery store-totally our fault, lesson learned. Since my cat was consistently vomiting, I called the Holt Vet Clinic office by SMU and the woman who answered the phone said to bring him in immediately because lilies are toxic to cats. At 3:45 I brought my cat in, was made to stand in line, fill out client paperwork only to be told that they would not see my cat because they were closing soon (5:30pm). She then lectured me on how dangerous lilies are to cats -obviously I’m aware now, but why would I stay if my cat-in a current emergency- wouldn’t be helped there? I was there for over 30 minutes cutting through red tape while my cat had ingested toxic flowers and they made me drive 20 minutes to the emergency clinic to get seen making it over an hour since my cat ingested the flowers. I called ahead to make sure I was going to the right place and Holt Vet Clinic wasted important time that could have killed my cat. So 1 star for poor call mitigation. If you were going to send me away anyway, tell me on the phone so I can take care of my pet properly.

I have used Holt for about 15 years. I have loved the service I have received and they treat my animals wonderful. BUT that said. Over Thanksgiving I sent my 2 teenagers in w my 2 dogs to get their nails clipped. Being the holiday I was really busy. I was not able to be reached by phone as I was in a Dr appointment. So a less than $20 appointment to trim nails ended with a $650 bill on my cc for vaccinations for 2 dogs. The kids 17 & 15 were not asked to get permission from their parents. They were just told that the dogs needed vaccines and were then vaccinated. If asked I would have said no. It wasn’t in our budget (Christmas coming) and my 13 year old dog, who NEVER leaves the house, didn’t need vaccines. I was not planning on vaccinating her anymore due to her age and never being out of the house. The other dog I planned to vaccinate in January. So for this visit I must give Holt a 1 star. It’s very disturbing that they would so freely charge my credit card w/o permission.

I don’t know why it took me so long to write this review. I began going to Holt in 2018 out of proximity to my home. I’ve since moved and continue to make the drive to Holt because I couldn’t imagine my dogs in better hands. Everyone that I’ve encountered at this office is incredible-empathetic, knowledgeable, patient, and truly care. Iris, Shae, Pablo, Dr. Bratton, and Dr. Kiefer have and will continue to be why I trust this practice so much. My best friend, Fenway, passed recently and not only did they help me significantly through the last months of her life (in addition to the last 5 years of getting to know her, recognizing her and me every time we came in, and showing her love EVERY time I took her in) they even took the time to write me a letter extending their condolences. I have referred many to Holt over the years and will continue to. If you’re searching for a new vet, trust me-you’ve found it.

My wife and I have always received great care and considerate treatment for both us and our cat at Holt Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Bratton has gone above and beyond in terms of taking the time to go over the diagnosis, treatment options, and risks for our little guy in a way that was both frank but sensitive and allowed us to make educated decisions. He went over our cat's x-ray to explain what the results meant in a way we could understand, walked us through the potential treatments and timelines, and spent considerable time on the phone with us after hours to talk us through possibilities and next steps. Candidly, our cat's illness has been tough on us, but feeling like we have a plan and a physician we can trust helps make things easier. The compassionate and considerate care our cat, and ourselves, have received mean we would 100% recommend Holt Veterinary Clinic.

What a pleasant experience i had going to this clinic with Baby, my Bichon Frise! Everyone was so nice from the front office staff to my sweet young veterinarian. I really loved the thorough job they did getting Baby and Baxter all ready with their shots and a cleared up ear infection that Baxter had from several months on the streets lost at the lake. (That is where he was found, nearly half dead. Sunburned and bitten by an animal at the lake.) He is better now and getting along as a new addition in my home. He is happy here with his new friend, and his new collar and tags! I want to thank Meals on Wheels for helping with a the bill for my two furchikdren and Leo's Friends Rescue for helping to treat him when he arrived at my home. A good friend and long time customer of Holt recommended them. I saw Dr. Geoffrey Bratton at Holt Veterinary Clinic for the first time this week for a minor matter with one of my dogs. I was so pleased. Dr. Bratton took time with me and Lily to listen and explain what I needed to know. He was very knowledgeable, personable and kind to my dog. The Holt veterinary practice is small and does not have a lot of people waiting to be served, even though Holt does not take appointments during the week. After several bad experiences with a larger hospital open 24 hours, Holt's staff and facility were refreshing. Smaller is better in this case. I wish I had switched a long time ago. I lost a cherished dog this week who might still be alive if I had chosen Holt as my vet service. Thank you.

Brought my dog in as an emergency after a dog fight, she had two wounds on both sides of the abdomen and broken teeth. He sent me home with only pain meds and some antibiotics. Still blood all over her fur and nothing cleaned. I then took her to another emergency hospital where they shaved her, flushed the wound, checked to make sure it didn’t enter her abdomen. The fact that he told me to just go home and doctor it myself did not sit right with me. I at least just wanted it cleaned. Also they gave me a cone so she wouldn’t mess with the wounds, as well as educate me on how to care for it. So so disappointed in how this vet did nothing, and then preceded to charge me 200$ will not be coming back here.

I was traveling to Europe for the holidays and bringing my one year old Shihpoo with me on the journey, for the first time. My usual vet is not USDA accredited so I could not use them to get the required EU Health Certificate. Dr. Bratton helped navigate me through the process of obtaining the travel certificate. He was extremely professional, responsive, and efficient. He has done this many times before and knows what he is doing. When I found out two days before my departure that the airline required a separate/different certificate, he was able to help me with that too. The folks at the front desk were wonderful too. Overall it was such a wonderful, easy, and stress-free experience!

Recently visited Holt for the first time, when seeking a second opinion on treatment options for our senior dog. I had concerns about changing to a walk-in only scheduling concept, but they seem to manage the walk-in process better than our prior vet managed their appointment system. I only base this on the ease of the process and wait time upon arriving at the location. The technicians and Dr’s I’ve met were all thorough, caring, informative and patient. It’s refreshing to find a vet again where the caregivers actually care about the overall health and well being of our pets. We’ve added our other two pets and made Holt our new vet home!

Our Love Dog climbed up and got into Tylenol and we took her in for them to induce vomiting. The professional staff moved very fast and after her vomiting proceeded to give her charcoal, fluids and anti-nauseous shot. Holt Veterinarian Clinic has served our four Weimaraners over the last 34 years. They have loving and caring staff who always greet us with a smile and professional service! Our 2-year old puppy, who is afraid of everything, had to return three days in a roll and walked in eagerly each day—even after all the tough treatments the days prior. Holt has been the only vet we’ve taken our 2 year old pup to since we got her as a puppy. They’ve been excellent at keeping us up to date with her shots, have been extremely helpful with walk-in availability when we’ve had other minor health concerns. We called around before we selected this office, and found their fees to be very fair compared to other local offices. The ‘Fear Free’ atmosphere that they advertise is TRUE. Anytime we walk into the waiting area, the other pets there are typically relaxed and friendly-not stressed or anxious like can sometimes be the case. We love Holt and recommend them to our friends with pets!

Holt Veterinary has been my go-to for my furries since I moved to Dallas in 2017. The staff at Holt are always warm and welcoming. They were excellent with my senior German Shepard, Elvis. The cards they sent when he passed away were a classy touch. My cats, Binx and Joy, were recently boarded at Holt for a month when I had to move following a residential emergency. The furries were well cared for and the staff didn’t seem to mind when I would call to see how they were doing. When I brought the kitties home, they were clean, well groomed, and energetic. So, if you couldn’t tell, I am big Holt Vet fan!!

These guys are fantastic, they don't take appointments during the week but I've never waited more than 10 minutes. With no appointments, I haven't seen the same vet but they've all been very good. They're also conscientious about cost, on an ear infection mentioned they might need to do a test but would wait to see if the antibiotic would work. I asked why not go ahead and do and was told it's expensive, took a few days and might not be necessary. They also confirmed it was OK to do x-rays, and financially it's not a problem. But I appreciated them asking rather than trying to spend my money!

We have had a few issues with our puppy in her first 6 months that we have needed help diagnosing, and the veterinarians at Holt did a fantastic job not only diagnosing each issue but also covering all bases to rule out possibilities of other illnesses. I was so worried I was going to have to wait months to get into an allergy specialist for our first issue and the vets at Holt ran a blood panel on our little one, and we figured it out in a matter of days and put her on a special diet to eliminate everything she was allergic to. She is no longer itching. Highly recommend this clinic!

Holt Vet Clinic is a group of caring vets in a nice facility, convenient to Mockingbird-Central area neighborhoods. The vets are good about explaining pricing, procedures and alternatives if you ask, so be proactive: your bill can mount up quickly! There seems to be a good group of vets there now. We like Dr Bratton and Dr Harden. Holt doesn't require appointments M-F, but I always call beforehand to ask whether my preferred vets are working that day and to make sure I won't find a crowd of other waiting patients. We are almost always seen within five minutes.

This vet handled my sweet sick baby so tenderly and explained every test & outcome thoroughly. The vet took time to educate me on my cat’s condition and possible solutions, I felt like he genuinely cared. Everyone at Holt Vet has been incredibly kind and helpful, they even helped me carry my pet taxi to the car. I have had no shocking or unexpected charges at this clinic, which I really appreciate. Every time I’ve gone in there’s little to no wait time and you don’t even need an appointment. I will recommend Holt Vet Clinic 100%

We are from out of town and needed to have a very important exam and then a travel document submitted to the USDA on a rush basis. Dr. Bratton was prepared, timely, and extremely kind. He is the most personable, professional and attentive veterinarian I’ve ever met. I wish we lived in Dallas because he would certainly be the one we’d choose to care for our furry best friend! First time visitor here. Took my pup in to see Dr. Bratton for a limp. He was thorough, methodical, and friendly. I will say that I appreciate a conservative approach when it comes to veterinarians, and I was very pleased here. He explained his thinking well after his assessment and didn’t push for extra products or unneeded imaging. I have had my dog for almost 11 years and have been with Holt Veterinary Clinic since the beginning. The doctors and staff at HVC have always taken great care of Snowpuff. You can walk in without an appointment M-F and by appointment only Saturday from 8-Noon. I have walked in on a Saturday without an appointment, and they were gracious enough to squeeze me in before they closed. I really appreciate the attention and care they give all the pets that are in the HVC family. Sheri K.

We have been taking our dogs to Holt for over a decade now, and even though we live a little further away and close to other vets we would never leave Holt. Their staff is always friendly and attentive. The facility is clean and safe. Most of all the doctors are excellent! They are so knowledgeable, honest and transparent. They don’t order a bunch unnecessary tests or recommend treatments that are not absolutely necessary. I trust them completely with my babies.

Can't say enough good things about Holts Veterinary. My gsd Ranger was an abused stray when I found him and very uncomfortable around everything and anyone, after a few weeks treatment and tlc he is a loving friendly guy full of life and energy. Big thank you to all the staff for helping me and Ranger out and been so friendly, they are absolutely great and you would be hard pressed to find anywhere better to take your babies when they need special care.

This place is great. We were out of town when our high maintenance Brittany developed attended by a house sitter developed an open sore and abscess on her face. This was the result of a spear grass barb. A dear friend delivered her to Holt and Dr. Keifer took over. Antibiotics, cleansing, cone and boarding with no fuss. We were obviously quite worried but their calm efficient care and updates were most reassuring. We will be forever grateful!

This place is absolutely incredible. My dog is super anxious and we're working with a Veterinary behaviorist for it, but she needed her nails trimmed bad. The whole staff is fear free certified. They have pheromone calming diffusers all over, they were calm and helped her stay calm, and they got everything done with an ease no vet tech has ever managed before. It's nearly an hour drive for me but worth every second for my dog's peace of mind

During my first visit with two kittens, everyone from the receptionists to Dr. Lane were very friendly, professional, and I am excited to share our experience with our friends with dogs and/or cats like us. I witnessed other very satisfied clients in the clinic - and it’s a very nice clinic that I would describe as simple yet modern. This clinic was highly recommended to us by someone we trust and we are happy to also recommend you. ✌

The whole staff was very kind and gave me great information about a stray that my family found. Dr. Bratton helped me to figure out what’s best for the dog. I greatly appreciate that they welcomed this puppy in (the weekday walk-ins made it easy to get immediate treatment) and the nurses took great care to ensure he made it through the shots (with cheese and peanut treats, and lots of cuddles.) Max is feeling better today and doing great!

I have a nervous, anxious blue lacy dog and a young cat that was initially feral when rescued. I discovered this vet from a blue lacy owner after spending years at another vet in Dallas that would charge a *nervous dog fee.* I am beyond impressed with the way this clinic handles both anxious and rehabilitating animals and happily plan to bring my pets here for years to come. I’ve been coming here since I moved to Texas and became a fur mom to bosko and Keiko! You all know my fur kids and I and I’d love to personally recognize Dr. Bratton for all he’s done for us and easing my anxiety as a fur mom. He’s wisdom, care and concern and love for Bosko and Keiko always keeps me calm and at ease and he always has a solution for it all. All the nurses, doctors, front staff are my favorite people!

We have used Holt since early 2004 for all our cats. The staff is friendly, professional, and great with animals. We never have to worry about not having all the necessary information about what our pet needs, what our options are, the best option, and possible outcomes for each option. We keep going back to Holt even though we moved several years ago and it is now more than twice as far away. They are wonderful.

We just took my cat here for the first time and I’m very pleased! He normally gets anxious at the vet, but the staff were very sweet and gentle with him. It was pretty busy (we went on a Saturday morning), but we were still seen quickly and were in and out in less than an hour. The cost of a check up was also about $20 cheaper than it would have been at our old vet, so that’s a bonus as well. Highly recommend!

I LOVE Holt Clinic. The staff members are truly pet centered and well trained (see certifications on clinic website). They do not require appts. & I thought that may be a concern but it is great.They rotate vets but if you have a preference you can wait if needed. Just call ahead. I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes.The staff as well as the clientele and their pets thrive in this practice.

We love going to Holt! The staff are always so nice and helpful. We usually see Dr. Bratton and he is great with our pups. Pablo is the vet tech we usually have and he is so good to our puppies and always goes above and beyond to help! The front desk is always very kind as well. Nothing but great things to say about Holt. Our puppies are our family and we trust Holt to take great care of them! ☺️

Holt is absolutely phenomenal. Dr. Harden saved my sweet baby kitty and calmed me down in the process. She explained everything very well and in detail. Every single person who works there is so kind and professional. I highly recommend this vet clinic. My whole family takes their pets here too! I’ve even taken a couple of my foster kitties and Holt treated them so wonderfully.

Holt Vet takes care of three generations of family members’ pups - now for over 15 years. Dr. Geoff Bratton is our pup’s vet and Dr. Harden is superb also. The office front desk staff are so kind and no question is ever too simple to ask them. Love the walk-in scheduling and their high standard of care for each and every pet. Totally trust and appreciate this practice!!

Having a “FEAR FREE” clinic is so important for the care my dog needs. I have all her grooming and day to day care handled at this loving and kind clinic. The staff is fantastic and so professional. Just an amazing experience. Our dog was really struggling with his joints and legs, and we changed our vet to come here and it’s been night and day. Really friendly people, even when they are busy you are never waiting long. Rufus could not be happier to be feeling better. They are thoughtful and kind. 10/10 recommend !!

This is an exceptional vet clinic. You only pay for the services done not a bunch of extra hidden fees. The staff is very courteous very kind my dog is a rescue and she's been abused in the past so I was worried that she was going to be afraid but the staff was so good with her. We used to be able to see the same vet every time we went. He was very experienced and knowledgable. Last two times, we were served by two different inexperienced junior vets. In both times, unnecessary procedures were done that costed a lot. Didn’t get a resolution. I’ve started thinking to switch vets.

Have been using HOLT since 2001. There are new Vet faces over the years but the staff has been consistently kind and professional, have helped keep my pets healthy, & provided support when they weren’t. Dr.Bratton is the best. He has provided compassionate care for my dogs at all stages of their lives.

My wife and I just switched over to Holt and already had both our cats in to be checked over. We were both very pleased with the attention that our cats received. The doctors are knowledgeable and handled our pets well. The staff is as friendly as can be and our experience exceeded our expectations.

I have been bringing my pets here for over 20 years. All the staff is great. I brought a chihuahua mix am fostering and Dr. Lane was great at explaining my options with the particular concerns I had. We decided on a course of treatment after some tests and then he followed up with me .

I recently moved to Dallas, so far I looked for my nearest vet around. I found this Vet clinic and I am so happy with my choise. They issue my dog’s Intl travel certificate and I got it on time. I always had a great feedback and attention from Geoff until I have the final certificate

Great vets and treat your dogs with patience and kindness and treat the owners the same way. Everything is explained in a way that I can understand. My doggies are very important to me and the vets there act like the doggies are important to them. They like animals and people too.

We trust Holt Vet and their doctors to provide the best advice and care for our dogs. We have a great experience. The location is very convenient and we love that we don't need an appointment Monday - Friday. If we need anything, we simply go in. Great place with caring staff.

This is the best vet I’ve been to. I brought my cat for a walk in appointment in the morning and was in and out in 30 minutes. Physical space and staff are warm and welcoming. Dr. Kiefer was excellent and so gentle with my sick kitty. I will definitely be back in the future!

Professional staff, yet they make you feel like you've been there a hundred times. The vet tech and vet who saw us treated our new kitten like he was their own kitten at home. My wife's family has gone here for years with multiple animals, I now see why. Amazing experience.

I took my puppy here and the staff was AMAZING!! They were great interacting with my timid dog, giving her time to warm up before examining her. I was also impressed by how much time the vet spent in the room with us. Overall, would definitely recommend this facility!

Excellent clinic. The doctors are amazing and have provided the most excellent care to my cats. When my sweet dog Duffy had to be put to sleep, Dr. Bratton was incredibly supportive and empathetic. Holt is the best vet clinic in Dallas. I highly recommend them.

Our toy poodle, Charlie, has been boarded 3 different places. Although I wouldn’t share where the first 2 places were, I can say how much we appreciated the 3rd- Holt. Charlie was happy, calm and smelled great when we picked him up from our last few getaways.

I have taken my pets to the Holt Vet Clinic since 1976. Excellent care and correct diagnosis/treatment plans. They seem knowledgeable and caring. I have complete confidence in this group. Office and support staff are efficient and likewise caring.

The staff is always friendly and communicative. The vets take the time to explain your options and why they make their recommendation. Their pharmacy always has my dogs prescriptions in stock and they're usually ready within an hour or two.

Everyone there is very nice and professional. They ladies up front Go above and beyond! I switched from Hillside because one of the vets there was very rude and unprofessional I took my business to Holt and and I’m very pleased with them.

Geoff Bratton is the best vet in town, and all the others are young and very current in their knowledge. The staff is friendly and knows every regular customer and their pet when they walk in. Brand new facility too. Pricing is not cheap

Very professional and very clean. They were so kind to my dog who is usually very outgoing but is afraid of vets. Thorough explanations and reasonable prices. My puppy has been feeling much better. Excellent experience!

This was our first time at Holt. We liked Dr Kiefer, her assistant and the front desk staff. It’s an efficient, clean, friendly vet clinic. We are looking forward to bringing our other two kitties here for their care.

No appointments, staffed with several top shelf diagnostic vets. Common sense vetting. All staff highly educated. I would take my horse here but they are only small animal.

Walk-in during Mon - Fri, super convenient. Each vet I’ve met has been patient and rate is reasonable, plus my dog seems to like being there. Great choice for my fur baby.
