I discovered this laundromat on Google Search the night before my long overdue laundry outing. After reading the reviews especially the noted emphasis on Covid prevention practices, and viewing some of the photo posts I decided to give it a try. I I am sold and will return regularly. Pre-pandemic I had always gone to the Maytag Laundromat in Lake City until it unfortunately burned down. I went there because of the convenience to my neighborhood. I really didn't prefer it but it was well managed and clean enough. With the pandemic I hesitated to go anywhere and my laundry was mounting up. C-19 prevention methods meant a lot to me. I arrived just before noon. Good time of day. A beautiful day. Fortunately I had a car and with a few parking spaces in front parking was easy and convenient at the time. There was street parking nearby too. On entering the laundromat, my first impression was the spaciousness, cleanliness and order. Laid out throughout the area, there is no shortage of machines to suit all sizes of loads and lots of walking around space. The coin machine works well, generously exchanging bills for quarters and Susan B. Anthony Dollars...because the machines take either or both coins. There's a notable emphasis placed on order and cleanliness. The staff frequently goes around the place cleaning and wiping down the machines. Prioritizing C-19 prevention methods all surfaces are blocked off to discourage standing around folding clothes. I brought my own totes and bags but they have many baskets available. Yes people are expected to wait outside while their loads wash and dry. But people come in and out freely as needed cutting down on congestion and enforcing social distancing. It all works. The owner and staff are friendly, helpful and customer service oriented. Without even asking and while in haste, struggling to read the instructions, the owner walked up to me offering his help. I welcomed it. I recieved a personal tutorial (and tour) and intro on how the machines operate and how to get the best results out of them. Although honestly at first it all seemed like rocket science, but once I got the hang of it it went like clockwork. The experience, far exceeded all my expectations and Hogan's in Ravenna is now my laundromat of choice.
The laundromat seemed well maintained and in good order, however, there were two issues I had that made me decide to rate this one star. First of all they had no machines available that were single load, the only two single load machines I saw were taped off as being employee use only. I find it unrealistic that they do not allow customers to access at least one single load machine. The second issue I had is there is no bathroom or sink to wash your hands available to use. I had to walk around for quite a while to figure out a restroom that I could access. I find it ridiculous that hand sanitizer and paper towels are considered suitable hand cleaning options. That is what the employees said they had available for people. If you are washing clothes it's possible you might get laundry detergent on your hands or dirt and grime depending on how dirty your clothes are. My clothes were not bad, but I do not like taking stuff out of a washer without having washed my hands first, it kind of defeats the purpose of washing the clothes and hand sanitizer also leaves residue which I would rather not get on my clothes that were just washed. I will mention there was a sink in the area, but it was taped off as not being usable. I do not plan on coming back to this laundromat unless if I absolutely have to.
I've had to make weekly laundromat trips for the past several months for a family of four, and I've tried several on the north side of Seattle. This is the speediest place to get your laundry done. Washing machines are a little more expensive - $5 for the "2 load" (aka size of tiny stackable apt washing machine) and $10-11 for a "3-4 load" machine, which is like queen comforter size. There are a couple of 6 load machines. The machines charge you a little more if you choose heavy soil setting and a little less for light soil. The room on the right has machines that are a little older and slightly cheaper than the room on the left. Cleanliness matters at laundromats because you're bound to drop a few items when transferring the load from the machine to the cart, and this place is fine but not great in terms of it's floor cleanliness. Finally, here's where this laundromat really shines. The dryers really work. The dryers will reliably dry a 3-4 load in 30 mins or less on medium. And the dryers are also very inexpensive. $.25 will buy you 4-7 minutes depending on the size of the dryer. There's also no residual natural gas smell. Overall, for a family of four, it's about $50-60 to run five different washers and dryers.
The 2 clocks are about 5 min apart. At what i thought was 10:20 was actually 10:25 and the closing/cleaning attendant had a super attitude with me even though my laundry was done i was just bagging it up, i told her i would be done before 10:30 and she said "I dont give a F**k, you just need to get the f**k out now." That was my first and the last time i will ever go there. It was dirty, the machines are old the vending machine was empty and the change machine was out of order (which was why i was there until the very last min because my bf had to run out and find 15$ worth of change!) The only good thing about this place is that its open until 1030.
They have dry cleaning, but it’s sent to another place off-site. Probably better to cut out the middleman. Their wash and fold service is relatively cheap and may be quick, but that’s because they don’t sort or follow care directions- only throw it all into the wash and then then straight into the dryer. So if your clothes come back shrunken or with color bleeding, this would be why. One star added for the disclosure of this fact up front. Do NOT take anything nice here, but if you have clothes that are easily replaced and you don’t mind replacing them regularly then this place is probably fine.
Yes there is free parking but not a lot of it and if you approach Hogan's from the opposite side of the street you might be tempted to cross the double yellow stripe to pull into the lot. There is always someone wiping down the machines. Sometimes there is a free candy basket on the counter by the drop off service window. There is a park next door and a MacDonald's across the intersection (i like to get an ice cream cone and use the restroom facilities while doing laundry). The downside to going to Hogan's is that there isn't a bathroom for customers to use while washing your belongings.
I’ve done my laundry here 6 times now, and every single time I get home I find spots of dirt that weren’t washed out. I’ve bought spray on stain removers and new detergent in an effort to finally clean my laundry, but today was the last straw when my load finished and I found that my clothing was only half wet. I asked the attendant for a refund so I could wash my clothes elsewhere and she refused (although she did allow me to use a different machine for free). So now I’ve spent twice as much time today for clothes that are half as clean. Extremely dissatisfied and will not be back.
Friendly staff. Convenient location. A great location to spot the controversial and endangered yet oh-so-coveted ... --change machine-- *gasp* ... With help of the Pay Range App/Service, all washers and dryers also have the option to pay with Credit/Debit or Pay Pal or....EBT Cash Card? They also have a wash/fold service which I have never used anywhere ever, but it sure sounds nice, doesn't it? Overall, it's about exactly what you've come to expect while doing laundry at a laundromat in the outskirts of the University District.
Clean, well staffed, excellent machines. Honestly can’t recall a laundromat experience that comes anywhere close to this positive. Needed to launder a king sized comforter. The staff greeted me at the door, volunteered to help me select the best washer for it, where to get coins or an app to charge it, showed me their reversible dryer so it wouldn’t get all balled up!! Amazing service. Will drive any reasonable distance to get here again. I’m done with the grimy, unfriendly laundromat experiences. This is THE place.
Had a bit of sticker shock when I first arrived (hadn't been to this laundromat in 3 years), but I did one load in a medium washer and 24 minutes in one dryer and was out the door for 9 bucks. Which was slightly less than the roll of quarters I used to use doing multiple loads. Place was spotless, all machines were in working order, plenty of carts and chairs available, friendly fellow customers and helpful attendant. Easy parking, too. Did miss the free candy, but otherwise a great experience!
I was very skeptical of using their service after reading some reviews. But when I got there the young ladies were so nice and helpful. The price was absolutely amazing. I had alot of clothes so I was scared they wouldn't be done in the usual 24 hours but to my surprise the were done in time. When I got my clothes back, my first thought was to smell them. I did..... now I wasn't expecting this but......they did a great job! Thank you hogan's corner I will be using your service again!
Clean clean clean. The employee is very thoughtful, hard working, and smiles. Update: I went in this evening and I felt that one of my loads didn't get clean as I'd hoped and I was not disappointed- i was surprised! Employee ran two washers free of charge without complaint but with a smile!! They were have my continued patronage for as long as I live here ..now if only they could walk across the street and train the McDonald's employees on respect, attitude, reason, and smiling...;)
Edit: There's an app to pay with a card! It wasn't mentioned when I approached the attendant...But it would have saved me from running around town. Not being from here, I wasn't aware of the cardless payment option (Coins only. Yes, I should have researched more!) But it was an adventure getting around to find some cashola. Now that I'm back, the machines are great...the place is clean and safe and I'm happy I came to this location! It gets the job done!
I freakin' love this place! Why?? Its just a damn place to wash & dry your clothing! & I know! Lol its a big laundromat first off, they have multiple machines & a change dispenser. They also have a soap machine with a few other products in it. I believe the hours for this place are pretty decent & I've never had clothes stolen from here & I've never not been able to wash my stuff or wait in any lines, always have open machines!
I was washing my bedding in the larger washing machines and the spin cycles did a poor job- seems like the machines are old. I had to put extra quarters in to dry my clothes. The attendant said it was my materials- I disagreed. The place was very dirty, I had to wipe the counters before I folded my clothes. I won’t go back there. I went to another place and it was cheaper and my clothes washed and dried much faster.
I really like this laundromat. Mainly because from the parking lot you can see the washers and dryers. So instead of sitting inside the entire time bored you can sit in your car, read a book and/or listen to music while you are waiting for your clothes to get clean. They also have some really great deals for dropping off your clothes and having them cleaned and folded for you. The employees are.also really nice.
Free WiFi. Password Is posted by drop off window. Wide variety of machines for every household size or those of us who wait four weeks while waiting for a delivery of our new Whirlpool front loader from reliable Metropolitan Appliance. Price of wash was $2.25 for my machine and about $1.50 for a half an hour of drying. Please bring magazines or newspapers to read.
Great communication from laundromat staff. We were vacationing in the area and needed to wash our clothes. The owner emailed me with the best machines and settings for getting in and out quickly. The space was clean and practicing safe Covid practices which we really appreciated. Parking right at the front made moving clothes in and out simple and easy.
I came here to get things done and not for luxury. It's just OK and affordable. Free WiFi (password is on the counter's door). Some machines are not working but they have plenty, so no issue. No restrooms, but you can walk a bit to the restrooms at the playground in the back, or at McDonald's just accross the traffic light. A bit packed on weekends.
This is a great laundromat. Our building's washer broke and I had to come here for the past couple weeks. It's clean, there are many machines, and the staff is really helpful. It's also right next to Ravenna park, which means I could enjoy a walk in the woods while waiting for my laundry to get done. Also, it's great that they have wifi available.
This place was super clean. There was 2 people cleaning nonstop. Not even kidding. While my whole time waiting this 2 people just kept on cleaning every corner, every handle and where extremely helpful. Not to mention is has good parking lot and cameras to keep you safe. Also the prices where pretty reasonable . Over all, great experience.
Staff is friendly about answering questions and they keep the place loiter free...most importantly clean. You can pay using cash coin or the new pay range app. They have parking and are close to some great local eats. Highly recommend washing your clothes here. Just save me a washer; wouldn't want my local spot getting too busy. …
This laundromat is so well maintained! The prices are a little high but my clothes wash in 35 min & dry in 15. Cash or PayRange app. No where to really sit but I'm not here long enough to relax. The attendants are nice & quite helpful. And they always have machines to use. I did a huge garmet box of laundry & got it all done in 1 hour
Great machines and no wait but the nicest part was there are chairs and plenty of room to bring my kiddos in. There are also no weirdos around , not this time at least. I had seen this place many times when going to the Volvo dealership and my usual Laundromat was packed so I gave this place a try and I am happy I did.
This review is for Hogan's Corner drop off laundry service. Fast, folded, and $1 a pound. A life saver if you are a busy person with limited access to a washer/dryer. I have been using this service for three years now - often done the next day and sometimes the same day - it's worth it! Friendly staff as well!
Every 20-lb washer was occupied, and several were finished with the wash cycle. The laundromat was empty, and the owners of these loads were nowhere nearby to empty their washes. I waited inside, and none of these customers returned to pick up their clothes promptly so other people could use them as well.
When I picked up my suit from the dry-cleaners, the padding was out of place. I took it to a tailor who found that the padding had been ripped from the inside wall of the suit and rolled into lumps. The cleaners clearly tried to flatten the rolled-up padding with an iron and called it good. Never. Again.
Plus: big machines that work, clean environment, free wifi, no loiterers, dryers can be used in increments of quarters instead of requiring full price. Minus: no air conditioning, no attendant present, doesn't take cards, can't buy supplies or snacks, no restrooms. Conclusion: gets the job done.
If I could give them more than five stars I would, it’s clean, the washers & dryers are fast & efficient, the people who work here are nice and the place has a nostalgic feeling.. it’s cozy & you don’t feel bothered or rushed. (& this is what google considers busy I’m the only one in here..)
Awesome laundromat. Super clean. Nice machine. The girls who work here are amazing. One of the machines was off an I didn’t realize, I put a couple dollars in and then realized. They were so sweet the refunded me and were even offering me laundry soap. So kind I had to leave a review
Awesome place. Just got some new machines. Midweek afternoons are best times to go. Friendly staff and very clean. Right next to Ravenna Park so you can take a walk while your clothes are washing/drying. Also several fast food places...McDs, Kidd Valley, Subway...nearby. Enjoy J
Fantastic and fast. Their dryers really are huge and inexpensive. Washed a big synthetic, sleeping bag, 2 down jackets, a comforter and sheets, and a large basket of clothes in about 90 minutes. Staff were very helpful, the credit card app worked great, and it wasn't too busy!
Several machines were broken, but it's a big place so there were plenty working and available. Older but mostly clean. Decent prices and parking lot out front. Free wifi. No indoor seating due to COVID. Biggest downside was no bathroom - not even for customers.
clean and organized space, great machines, and great service! one of the washers i was using malfunctioned and the gentleman working helped me move my laundry and provided proper coinage expediently. thanks for making a stressful task quick and easy!
Super helpful people, the place is nice and clean, the machines are well maintained and clean great. I love the payment app they use, so you don't *have* to locate, then drag around several pounds of change if you don't want. 10/10 will use again!
The detergent dispenser took $2.50 without giving any soap. It took quite a while to locate the attendant. It would be helpful if attendant's had more than just a T shirt indicating they are employed there. A nametag or lanyard would be helpful
I washed and dried a thick King Size down comforter in their largest machine, and it worked great! Way cheaper and less toxic than dry-cleaning for large items. This is a nice resource for the community, even those who own a home washer/dryer!
Bring your quarters with you ( sometimes the change machine works and sometimes not !!! Plenty of washers of different sizes and cost , ample dryers usually no wait at all. Clean laundry mat with seating. Parking can be limited at times
Excellent staff. Clean machines. Matt was super helpful, went out of his way to assist, really, I left thinking…what a kind person he is! Highly recommend this business, especially for a chore that is such a pain in the you-know-what.
Incredibly helpful people. I always get my clothes washed here, but I came particularly late tonight and ended up staying past closing. I was accommodated with a smile and kindness nonetheless. Extremely grateful for the generosity!
Good things are that this is a clean facility lots of washers and dryers fair prices. There is no restroom for customers if you have any questions or need anything you will be told by the attendant on duty to go look elsewhere.
Great machines, clean facility and helpful staff. Came in with clothes from our closets not smelling their best to say the least and they came out almost like new. Will be coming regularly! Nice to kiddos too. We love it here.
$2.75 for washing, $0.25 for 7 minutes of drying. Wash cycles are about 35-40 minutes per load. Wi-fi would be nice to do ho.ework but there are chairs to sit and read and a McDonald's across the street if you're hungry.
As far as laundromats go, it's as good as it gets. Clean, lots of machines, change machine machine always works, friendly attendants. Bonus: there is a park next door and a brewery across the street.
Place is clean and friendly. Equipment works. No consolation for my vehicle damaged in parking lot. Insufficiently sized/number of spaces. Poorly laid out. Great if you have a smart car or walk.
Fast, efficient machines, clean interior & convenient hours! Needs bike parking! car parking takes up the entire front of the building and I didn't have anywhere to put my bike when I rode down.
Although it is a 20 minute bus ride with a large bag of laundry , it is well worth it ,as it is possible they have the hottest dryers in Seattle , as a sign read on one of the machines .
super clean and im obsessed with the huge washers i can throw like 3 comforters in at once and they still get super clean. never had any issues with people so overall great place
This place is clean, friendly, and safe. The owner is caring, and the workers are diligent. This place is not only convenient, but reasonably priced for todays cost of living.
$10 to wash and dry a blanket is kinda pricey especially considering the place is pretty run down and unclean. Theres also no place to sit while you wait.
Machines are big, clean and they work very well!!! The only downside to this place is the price but in Seattle what else is new!? 5 stars!
Visiting the area from nyc. Surprised how few self serve laundromats are out here. Glad I found this one. Very clean and prices are good.
The owners do an amazing job staffing! Always someone to answer questions and monitor cleanliness. Great, brand new machines.
No easy way to pay with debit without downloading some third party app. Don’t forget cash if you try this place.
Very clean . No waiting . Newer than most . I really enjoyed using this laundry mat. Has ample parking as well.
Very clean. Staff on site was very helpful. You can pay by app for the wash and dry but not for the detergent.
It a great place to wash. They have these huge washers that can handle a few quilts at once.
Great place overall. More seats + hookup the new large washers to the app would be great!
Very nice attendants. Great machines. NO restroom. Across street to Subway or Mcdonalds.
Very chill pretty clean open late
