Fairly large park, fully fenced in, with lots of open space that makes it easy to keep an eye on your dog. The park is typically well maintained but it can get a bit overgrown at times and rain/snow causes flooding so, avoid it afterwards. It has several benches, lots of water bowls (bring your own water) and a gazebo that is, unfortunately, totally useless! There is a small trail system outside the park, with a clearly marked path that's easy to follow, but you need to leash your dog. Nice people and generally very little trouble with other dogs. However, I've seen far too many fights over toys - park forbids them for a reason so, PLEASE DONT BRING TOYS TO THE PARK! The park is open 6am to 11pm but with no lights, once it's dark, the fun is over. One of my dogs favorites, I enjoy taking him here, check it out!

I have been to this park several times over the last 6 months and I can say I will not be returning. I find that many of the people who attend here break all the rules. The people chain smoking and dripping the butts not the ground for the dogs to get is horrible. Also many bring to many dogs there and they gang up on others. Most of my dog neighbours will not use this park also because of these reasons. To many aggressive dogs who are not trained. I will assume most are not licence by the city either. People bring toys and food which also creates problems. It is to bad the city does not enforce the rules at these parks so that they can be used for the intended purpose.

I brought my 6 month old puppy here for the first time, she's a Cavachon (small-breed) and the dogs at the park were very friendly and well trained. The owners were very responsible in calling out dogs that are pushing the limits. I walked in with my puppy and a dog was placed on time out after playing too roughly with another dog. Dog owners were very friendly and my puppy really enjoyed running around and socializing with other dogs. This is my first experience of taking my dog to an off-leash park and I really recommend this place. It's large enough and wasn't as busy as I expected/read from previous reviews.

The facility is great! The fenced in field is huge. A mix of sand and grass with a path running around half of the interior. A few benches. Lots of garbage bins around the fence and entrance. If your dog needs to run around this is the perfect spot. Like any dog park, your experience will depend on the owners and dogs there at the time of visit. Some dogs love to play and wrestle while others are not interested — just have to adapt or visit later in the evening. There is also a long (non-fenced) walking trail connected to the parking lot. Makes for a great 20-40 minute walk if dogs aren’t playing well.

I prefer this park over the others on hamilton mountain area. Much more room for dogs to play, and if they do not want to play they can have their own space. My dog likes to play with other dogs but is scared of the big ones. Thankfully, this park helped my Bowser to be more confident around big dogs. Fellow dog owners that go to this park are very respectful. I recommend this space if you have timid dogs. It can get windy though so if you have a smaller dog prepare for the weather. Also, pretty clean! most owners pick up after their dogs too

It was the first time I brought my 5-month old golden retriever, however an older dog attacked my puppy the moment we entered the park, it was a male border collie mixed (like the one in the picture), the guy owner didn’t seem to care that his dog attacked my puppy and bit him on his neck/shoulder area. He just said “older dogs are territorial to puppies” “don’t worry about it, they were just mouthing”. Would be better to divide the park for smaller dogs or puppies and also owners to be mindful if your dogs have aggressive temperament.

A great dog park for my Golden Retriever. He loves to socialize and just run, so when we're at big dog parks it's hard to keep track of him unless you don't take your eyes off him. At least in this dog park, if you get distracted, it's easy to find him again without running frantically and calling his name. Only problem is that there's not enough shade. But owners usually pick up after their dogs, and there's usually water bowls to fill with your own water!

Super great place!! We went for our first time today and was very impressed! This will be our new dog park for sure. There were about 20 dogs here when we went and it was great for our pup! He got to run around and play with them and burn off his energy. The grass was cut and there was a little gazebo for shade with some water bowls. Everyone just brought some water for the doggos. Highly recommend this dog park!

To my canine friends: This is my favorite place to go! There's so much space to run! The other dogs are so nice (and when a dog isn't so nice, their people take them away pretty quickly [it happens...we can all have bad days!]). There are plenty of bins all the way around the fence for poop bag disposal and water bowls for our drinks. Hope to see you there! (I'm the spotted white dog!) Sincerely, Honey

Edited froma 5 star to 1.. very nice park. However, I am done taking my dog to any sort of open off leash park like this one. She has been attacked multiple times with no reasoning. There are too many variables going to parks lile this with unknown dogs and owners. Also many wonder have begun neglecting to clean up after their dog so it has become more 'dirty' as time passes.

Absolutely beautiful space there's plenty of dog bowls around to fill up with water in case your pooch gets thirsty. varying terrain and lots of other people and dogs if you want to start introducing your animal go at off peak times when there's fewer people. upkeep is good there's no garbage laying around. People are good about cleaning up after themselves and their animals.

Two grand main areas. One is a large fenced in section. The other option has long walkabout trails around the perimeter of the expansive fenced portion that takes a minimum of a half hour to circle back to the core. Allow your dog to socialize in the interior part and then also enjoy an off leash romp in the outer. Surfaces are well maintained and no drainage issues.

  • Niki Hellam

Not a good place to take small dogs, found owners not looking after their dogs more so on their own phones. Had a bigger dog jump on my miniature poodle, also had another dogs trying to attack my smaller one and scaring him when we were trying to leave. We won’t be returning and will stick to owner normal walks

It's a great park. Lots of room, trees and benches. Only worrying thing is the shared water bowls. My dog Got kennel cough after drinking out of the water bowls over Christmas. Only place he has socialized since pandemic. Other then that great park he loves to run around at this park.

I ensure my dogs get out multiple times a week on long hikes or at the farm. This park is well maintained, everyone picks up after their dogs and is friendly. It isn't huge, hut enough space to walk yourself and not be in in mix of a large group of dogs if you don't want to be

  • Iain Jones

We bring our dog here regularly and he loves it. Lots of room for the dogs to run around & play. 99% of the folks I’ve run into here are friendly & responsible dog owners. The park is well kept, and you won’t lose sight of your dog here.

A very large dog park to let your furry friend to run leash free and socialize with other dogs. I only wish that the paved path went fully around the perimeter and could be lite up with solar lights that would be 5 stars in my books.

  • Paige Armstrong

Medium sized dog park, lots of benches and water bowls, not water source but that's the owners job. Road to parking lot is closed but the sport center has lots of parking and the walk is nice. Will be back again

  • Michael Vickers

Don’t know why this dog park has such good reviews- maybe I don’t understand dog parks. Are they a just giant muddy fields with weirdos? We went to the random farmers field beside it though- it was nice

  • Svenja Brandt

Awesome dog park and best of all, unlike a few of the other ones, no burrs at all. Finally I don't have to spend 2 hours, after taking my girl to the park, removing those awful burrs out of her fur!

  • Andrew Sparkes

Nice fenced in space for my dog to run around, a paved path circles the grassed area and benches are located around the perimeter.
Dog-friendliness
It's a leash free dog park.

  • Alex Wiersma

Excellent space for the puppers to run around. Path paved for the humans. However doesn't do a full loop. Trails around the park in case you don't want a leash free experience.

  • Shawn Mayo

Excellent location, owners and dogs. Generally people are responsible. The city could add water fountains like those at the Kennilworth stairs and some more shading structures.

  • Michele Smythe

Great park for letting your pup roam free and meet other happy dogs
Dog-friendliness
Large medium and small breeds all getting along in a great fenced in space.

  • Alyssa Lee Holmes

LOVE THIS DOG PARK!! Massive, safe open space for any pupper who enjoys playing leash-free with other puppers !! Georgie has a blast every time <3

  • Tree Devil

More often than not, is a very unsafe place for you dog. To many rule breakers and/or those dog owners who dont care!

  • Patricia Severino

Lovely, lively park. There’s baseball field, soccer field, and a playground. Lots of field for my dog to run.

  • Frank Filice

Great dog park but need a water tap and more pool bins throughout the park.

  • Dave Lang

Our dogs LOVE IT here, and so do we...wonderful people as well.

  • Kate Quarin
