My doctor has been wonderful but how the clinic is run has often been awful, and now it's enough that I'm writing this since there doesn't seem to be anything else I can do now except leave the clinic which really sucks after 6 years of care there. I recently asked to move to a different female doctor at the clinic as my doctor is leaving and her replacement is a man. I've always had women as doctors (for everything that I can chose) because I feel more comfortable. They were very curt and kept repeating, "no, it's our policy, this new doctor is good." Obviously it's not about whether he's good--I'm sure he's great if my doctor selected him--but about comfort and accommodation. There are a lot of things I'd just never bring up if my doctor were a man and how can that be good? This is especially frustrating when I sought my doctor specifically and was on a wait-list for 2 years to see her, no exaggeration. I just don't understand why a clinic would prevent a client from moving laterally to another doctor when theirs is leaving the clinic, it seems ridiculous. They didn't even suggest getting on a wait-list with a different doctor there, it was just, "no." And this is important to me because of my own feelings of comfort but imagine if there were women who, because of trauma/religious beliefs/etc, would feel even more uncomfortable with a male doctor and they're telling them they have to see one. What a horrible, bizarre policy and that they won't even clarify or justify. EDIT: I just learned that a friend who's also been seeing her has been experiencing the exact same response with the clinic and I imagine we must not be the only ones too. UPDATE: re: reply from clinic. Thank you for your reply. If the response over a year ago when this was happening was similar to this (and where it felt like I could actually talk to someone making these policies, not just curt desk staff) then it would have been much better. None of this was communicated at the time, and it is different from what I was told (that we were just not allowed to change doctors, that it was policy, and just had to see whoever the replacement was, not that it's because no female doctors had open wait-lists.). Has the policy been updated? If this was the case at the time, then the front desk did not convey that and were fairly curt in their responses and seemed unwilling to explain *why*.

Dr. Erin Reich is my doctor at Health Source Medical and she is honestly the best doctor I have ever had. She really cares about her patients and takes the time to ensure that they get the quality care they need. If she doesn't know much about a particular element or question you have about your health, she does not hesitate to tell you so, but works with you in-depth to figure it out, or to refer you to a specialist who can help. I have been a long time chronic sufferer of various health issues that had been getting no attention for years due to the lack of knowledge surrounding them, and little willingness to work with me to diagnose and treat them from other doctors---this has been the complete opposite from Dr. Reich. In the past 10 months that I have been a patient of hers, my quality of care, and of life, has substantially increased. I'm still learning to navigate and manage my chronic conditions, but at least I now know I am not doing it alone. The information and resources she has connected me to in the last year have been invaluable---they have proven to be empowering tools in building up my autonomy and health once again. I cannot thank her enough, she really is an amazing doctor. Also, it should be said that the reception is really great as well. Super friendly individuals who you can tell actually care. Overall it is a great practice to be a patient at. I am so happy that I decided to go to them.

Even though information should be on my file, every time I come in I'm having to explain over again. Extremely rushed during appointments, cut off alot to the point where my needs aren't being understood or met. When being reffered out the doctor completely failed to tell the specialist I was looking for a assessment (the doctor had said a few times they didn't believe I had the illness) and just put in the things he thought. So when I finally saw them they had no clue what was going on and was trying to treat me for something else. I had to have an appointment to get a refill for my script and the doctor never sent it in. That was three weeks ago and I've been trying to get ahold of the office every day since but it's often when you call it just says they aren't taking calls. Not even the ability to leave a message. My medication has a serious medical fall out for not having it. The only reason it gets two stars is because they were taking new clients after needing a doctor all pandemic.

The doctor I see is incredible and so helpful. Reception however does not have a messaging system capable of fielding calls when people require information or appointments. A busy family practice should have an adequate answering machine system and not a busy dial tone. The messaging system, Avocare, has been wound down but the clinic's roster has not been contacted about what system will be replacing it, or increased the capacity of reception. I don't want anyone to work harder because I imagine everyone is working very hard. I think this is an opportunity to work smarter to improve infrastructure around appointments. I should not be told to avoid walk-in clinics when calling to make an appointment takes an hour to get through, and the holds I am placed on are 10-15 minutes long.

Great GP! Dr. Canton has been my GP for a few years now and she is absolutely wonderful. She always gives me plenty of options and explains things in terms I can understand and she is also easy to follow-up with without having to go into the clinic. One time she got my husbands results back at around 8:00pm and called him from home to tell him she would have a prescription faxed to our pharmacy and it would be ready for him to pick up in the morning. The front end staff is also lovely - they used to be a lot more difficult to deal with and sometimes still seem a bit burnt out but I get it, people are grouchy at you 90% of the day so sometimes its hard. The newer front end staff seem very nice and efficient as well.

A recent change of policy has changed my opinion of this place. As a senior citizen I am on certain medications on a long-term basis. Until recently my pharmacy could fax my doctor a prescription renewal request. Now suddenly I have to pay a fee to get the doctor to sign the renewal. Or alternatively I can make an appointment to see the doctor and collect the renewal, and in that case OHIP will pay the doctor. The fee alternative proves that the visit to the doctor is not medically necessary. Therefore, in my opinion, this is an abuse of our already overused and underfunded public healthcare system. Such greedy abuse should not go unpunished. I am on the hunt for a new doctor.

I couldn't decide what star rating to give this clinic between 1 and 3 because my GP there (Dr. Canton) is beyond amazing BUT getting in to see her during the day is next to impossible. I cant remember the last daylight appointment I was actually able to see her. I've always been stuck seeing another practitioner in their afterhours clinic which is fine but I'd much rather see my own Dr. Sadly I had to find another Dr. for my oldest daughter because I was never able to get in to see Dr. Canton. Again Dr. Canton is AMAZING and her bedside manner is top notch. I just think they bit off more than they can chew with over populating themselves with way too many patients per Dr.

I rarely write reviews, but my experience today was unfortunate. The doctors are so caring and knowledgeable at this clinic but it gets overshadowed by their rude and entitled front desk staff. Today, the building was 25 degrees Celsius. I was sweating waiting for my apt (and I was also pretty sick!). When I asked the front desk staff if they could turn it down, I was met with blank stares and gaslighting behaviour. It was also 16 degrees outside today, which should signify to staff that the heating can be turned down a bit. Just really disappointed with my visit today to be honest. Hope it’s better for next time.

I like this place. I have found them to consistently be on time with appointments. I found that all questions get answered at appointments and I do not feel rushed. In saying that I'm referring to both their scheduled appointments and their walk-in, both of which I've used. My only complaint would be that it is hard to get a person on the phone at times (constantly busy) when calling in, but that's a small price to pay for the great care you get here. I highly recommend this clinic. I can't comment on any of the paramedical services offered here because I haven't used any, just primary care (a.k.a family doctor).

  • Laura Stavro

Shocked to see all of the poor reviews here. Dr Tisher has been my doctor and my daughter's doctor. She and her colleagues have always been attentive and courteous. They listen and ask questions and have followed up when appropriate. Reception staff have been great too. We arrive five minutes early and are always seen on time for scheduled appointments. We've also had walk in and same day appointments and the quality of care has been great across all of them - even with other doctors and members of the health care team. I highly recommend this clinic, especially to people with young children.

I've always had a fantastic experience with Healthsource Med! My husband and I have been with Dr. Canton since 2012 and have since brought in our baby to see her as well. She helped control my diabetes, very efficient and thorough. During her mat leave, we saw Dr. Campbell who is equally amazing! Appointments have really low wait times and they've always accommodated seeing my baby when needed. Some front staff could be a bit nicer on the phone, but have never had issues dealing with in person and usually because of policy. I highly recommend this clinic!

Excited to finally have a family doctor after 4 years of waiting. Unfortunately, it was this clinic and Dr. Cojocaru. Kept asking me what I want him to do about my chronic knee pain when another doctor gave me 3 courses of action. Dr. Cojocaru’s best suggestion was to take time off work…His know it all attitude is extremely unbecoming. This clinic also assumes all people are privileged enough to take a day off work to fit into the doctors/clinics limited schedule. Waiting 4-5 hours at a walk in is better than dealing with this place.

  • Raphael Friess

Absolutely terrible since Tony Canton left. They used to have a great messaging system, but they removed it now for some other platform that doesn't let me message them at all. Not that customer service was ever great here. Usually they are extremely rude and cold and clearly do not care one iota about the patients. The only good thing about this place were the doctors. Now it's just a disaster. Bring back Avocare. It was a great system. Or at least let us email you. Why are you so intent on staying stuck in the 20th century?

  • Danielle C

Revising my review to 3 stars because the doctors are great. But… could not get a simple anti-depressant refill. Front desk says robotically that I have to schedule an appointment. When asked if they can leave a note for the doctor about the situation I am in, the reply is, no, you need to schedule an appointment. I have no meds and the soonest appointment is 13 days away. Very terrible protocol. A depressed person without meds and without any way to contact the doctor. Phone line is down and online booking system is broken.

  • Julie Creen

Getting an appointment is a 4 week wait for a 15 minute appointment. Today I left the appointment in tears feeling like I had been made to blame for my chronic illness, and being scolded for taking up more than the standard 15 minutes. I came in requesting a referral to a specialist and was told to find someone myself and they would submit the paperwork. Anytime you call you are on hold for over 10 minutes. In general the service at this clinic is poor. I loved Dr Canton (who left) and have been disappointed since.

I used to be a patient of Dr Lee and was transferred to Dr Greenaway when Dr Lee relocated. This was the best thing that ever happened to me! Dr Greenaway is patient, empathethic and extremely competent. She is always positive and makes me feel at ease. The clinic is very well run and I have never had an issue with waiting or referrals. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone looking for a clinic that isn't run down and that has very knowledgeable doctors.

  • Nick Mountain

Nothing but problems, harassment, and false accusations booking and starting appointments. On-line booking doesn't work. Always off schedule then blame me. It always takes 4 months to get an urgent appointment. Terrible receptionists with zero communication skills. Blood-lab always inures my arm so I go elsewhere. My health issues have never been resolved. I'm under enough stress as it is I don't deserve this bad treatment.

  • Jesse Allan

USUALLY, very difficult to book appointments. When you call it is near impossible to get a hold of someone and when you do leave a message (just press 6) there is a 50/50 chance they get back to you BUT lately they have been fantastic and have been answer the phone immediately. I think they have taken note on some of these google reviews and it’s nice to see the change. Other than that the doctors here are fantastic!

RECOMMEND 100000%!!! I've been a patient for over 10 years so believe me when I say that YOU CAN TRUST THIS CLINIC. Everyone at HealthSource Medical works exceptionally hard to offer responsive, patient-first, and evidence-based healthcare. They are rockstars and I am so grateful for all they've done for me and my family. It's our underfunded healthcare system that's letting you down -- not this clinic.

  • Christine Ingram

Wow! I'm shocked to see all the horrible reviews about this doctors office. I've been going to this doctors office for 3 years and have always had a pleasant experience. My family doctor is Dr. Kate Greenaway and she always is respectful, punctual, accurate and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this facility. Dr. Greenaway also specialises in LGBT which is very helpful to my partner and I.

  • Debra Haworth

Dr. Banting is thorough, professional and attentive. The front desk is improving. I find that if you are clear in explaining what you are calling about, they respond well. If you can afford the $100 fee, it's worth it to avoid coming in to refill prescriptions. Having to make an appointment to see the doctor for refills is not the fault of the clinic. This is because OHIP doesn't pay for this.

  • s

The new online messaging system makes it easy to book appointments, have documents for specialist appointments sent to me, and even to ask basic questions to the front desk. All a simple text away! My doctor is very punctual and provides great patient care. The waiting room can get a bit cold in the winter, but understandable since patients are constantly coming in and out.

  • Dani Blach

Just wanted to update my review since Dr. Canton left. When I heard Dr. Canton was leaving, I was worried because she was the best doctor I’ve ever had! Dr. Wang is just as amazing. She’s thorough , patient and has great bed side manner. I feel so lucky to have my health taken care of so well. The front desk have always been helpful and efficient as well. Thanks everyone!

  • Nikki Willams

For the love of God why do the front desk secretaries speak to you in a such a condescending manner. No professionalism whatsoever just full of attitude. Also this place has gone downhill since Dr. Canton left its so hard to book an appointment without some type of restriction. Really disappointed in how things have drastically changed.

  • Aviva West

I'm a patient of the new Dr. Tischer, and she is just fabulous. Calm, kind and plain-spoken, she really listens and offers thoughtful responses and diagnosis. Though young, she does her research and is totally upfront about what she does and doesn't know for sure. Great, great doctor who will only get better in the future. Recommended.

  • Ksenia Shaw

Dr Toni is our family doctor for last 5 years. She is incredible: she really cares (I don't see this with other doctors these days), she is awesome with kids (our 4 y.o. still talks about Dr Toni looking for monkeys in her ears), she is very knowledgeable and an amazing person. I'm very happy with this practice and our family doc <3

  • Meesha Thomas

I love my doctor, but it’s so hard to book an appointment. They canceled my last one and now I’m trying to rebook and it’s like pulling teeth to get a hold someone over the phone. The staff is friendly and once again my doctor is amazing but this is madness. It shouldn’t take me several weeks to get ONE DAMN appointment.

  • EdMa EdMa

Really bad care. Waiting for some urgent test results and when the results arrive the clinic asks us to retun 2 days later because the only doctor is too busy. I guess we'll have to wait to see if my wife needs antibiotic since they don't care about their sick patients. I would never recommend this clinic to anyone.

  • Meaghan Tellier

Dr. Tisher has been phenomenal! She takes her time and truly cares about my health concerns. Although she's been absent a few times for maternity leaves and sabbatical, her replacements have always been as equally great! The front office staff are always pleasant in person and over the phone.

  • Alex Naranjo

Don’t really understand these negative reviews . Dr. Banting is great! Super kind, listens to my concerns and questions . Very patient and caring . Got my implant for birth control and she was quick and very caring during the whole process. Very lucky to have her as my family doctor !

  • Nicole Munoz

I absolutely love Dr. Tisher. She is knowledgable, understanding, professional and has a very good bedside manner. I receptionist at this clinic have always been very friendly, efficient and professional. I have rarely been made to wait and the clinic is nice, new and clean.

  • Chris McClennan

Has been a good clinic for me over the past five years, and I highly recommend Dr. Canton (and now Dr. Campbell, while Dr. Canton is on maternity leave). Always close to on-time, unlike others I've been to, and usually give me an early heads up if anything changes.

  • Justin Davis

The medical office is great very clean, I was a patient of dr.cantons and now dr.wangs unfortunately I am unhappy with dr.wangs bedside manner she refuses to refer for more than 1 second opinion and refuses to refer to a dr out of province which is very wrong

  • justin lovell

Nice people. Walk ins with Dr chan didn't make me feel like I learned anything. Dr Canton is quite nice and cares. Would be nice if they had a doctor who had more experience with naturopathic medicine. Wait times for walk-ins can be long but expected.

  • Willow Starr

Dr. Megan Banting is an attentive and kind doctor. My initial visit with her was very in-depth and thorough. She looked for ways to solve all my medical concerns. I appreciate her prompt referral to a specialist and quick follow up on test results.

  • Joshua Gelber

An ever evolving, focused, diligent clinic. Having went to high school with the clinic's owner, I can speak to his intelligent and caring nature, and he would only handpick the finest team members! A-plus patient-centered care.

  • Lisa Sit

Dr. Reich is my doctor and she's great. Straight to the point, patient and informative. There usually isn't more than a 5 minute wait from my appointment time, but I usually go first thing in the morning.

  • Ciera Cleary

Megan Banting is a terrible doctor. I'd rather go back to being doctor-less than return to this clinic and see her again. It also doesn't help that the reception makes everything cumbersome.

  • Malou Pillo

My Doctor is Erin Reich she's the best doctor I have. She's very meticulous and understand her patient very detailed to explain the result of our test.

  • Lorenzo Koidis

If you are not a walk-in and not taking new patients, fix your Google tags. You are wasting ill people's time and causing more discomfort
