The disrespectful, egregious, and incomplete way they displayed my mother was inexcusable! For one, they left her lipstick COMPLETELY OFF!! Especially shocking in that Lesa, our director asked me during planning about make up. And that lipstick was one of my mother’s unique attributes, and always had it on before leaving the house. She wouldn’t be without it. We discussed the color she wore (red or plum). Lesa even went as far as to say “the color they choose may be a bit darker than she normally wears due to skin tone darkening.” However to have forever etched in my mind, the white, colorless tone of her lips was unforgiveable! I then noticed her arm and hand were about 3 inches raised up instead of resting on her body, fingers straight out, not folded nicely together as they should have been. They used a brownish eyebrow pencil that didn’t even follow the normal curvature of her brow, instead went straight across which made her look as though she was frowning! And more. I am not in the funeral business but I sure know what it is NOT supposed to look like! If presentation wasn’t bad enough, Lesa had the audacity to call our home, 5 minutes before we were ready to leave, to inform us she would not be at the funeral because she had a meeting with another family! This was especially inconsiderate in that I had planned to arrive 15 minutes early to have some alone time with my mother, not to meet with staff for the first time! This caused me to start shaking. I asked if she could please attend at least the first part in case we needed her. But she would not budge! Just matter-of-factly stated we will have two assistants and it will be fine. Arrived 15 minutes early, met with the assistants which left me with 5 minutes to visit with my mother. I walked into the chapel but when I got to her, I was panic stricken at her presentation and contemplated whether we should close the casket only due to lack of quality of their own cosmetician. AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF, LESA WASN’T THERE TO HELP ME BECAUSE SHE WAS IN HER MEETING!!! I informed the young assistant who left twice but returned (without Lesa), offering to have a mortician come in and apply it. So now they want to offer to finish up on my mother DURING OUR FUNERAL that should have been done on THEIR time ahead of time? Excuse me but I do not wish to have the image of how makeup is applied to a deceased person let alone my mother! How unprofessional to put us in this dilemma! Lesa THEN had the gall to come in exactly AFTER THE SERVICE, and AFTER HER MEETING to say “I just wanted to see if everything was OK,” This was NOT the time for me to complain about something that was already done and could not be reversed!! We had a tight timeline to get to National Cemetery she was fully aware of. If she really cared, she would have attended instead of making another family her priority! They were like a DIY funeral. We were given names of florists to call, printing companies to call, design and pick up our own brochures, even told to stream our own music and send to them! Which included an hour of background music!! How nice for them to get paid handsomely for doing practically nothing! And they couldn’t even get the presentation right! The single most important task! Seems like once they have your money, (required up front) they don’t care after that. Later, I tried to reach the owner, Trish Hansen. Left messages but took a month to get a call back. But only after I finally said I have a very expensive funeral to plan for someone and need to speak to owner. ONLY THEN did Trish almost immediately call me back! I explained what happened. Instead of an authentic sounding apology, got the callus remark “I’m sorry we didn’t meet up to your standards!” I had no standards or expectations other than the bare minimum of having my mother’s make up on!! And attendance of our director! And follow through! Yet they couldn’t even meet the basics! My advice, DO NOT use Hansen’s if you want to be ensured a quality experience!

Where to start... How about, MOST the mortuary and cemetery representatives are shysters and should sell used cars. They give you a bunch of sheets with a bunch of prices, services, vaults, etc. and make it as confusing as possible. They make it difficult to comparison shop or to know what it is going to cost for a funeral and burial. The "Catholic Cemetery" even tried to sell me a "Catholic" burial vault - It cost more of course. There is ONE EXCEPTION - Hansen's ! We met with Joe Livingston. He showed us a map of the cemetery that showed the available graves and their "All-In" pricing. By "All-In", I mean it was the complete price for the land, issuing the land deed, digging the grave, burying Mom, the head stone, setting the head stone and incidentals. Why doesn't eveyone operate that way ? Planning the funeral was just as easy - They gave us a couple of options with "All-In" pricing and gave us some credits for stuff we didn't need. But there is more... My Mom died three days before our planned vacation abroad. We didn't know what to do, so we called Joe. Joe explained that it typically takes about ten days to get the death certificate, permits, etc. and we should go. We went and it gave us time to grieve and to spend time together... Good advice. When we got home and were getting ready for the wake and funeral, we weren't sure what to do with our kids - Do they attend some or all of the services ? Do we keep them home ? Again, we called Joe for advice. He explained that allowing our kids to participate in the wake, funeral and graveside service was best for them, because it would give them closure and will prepare them for dealing with deaths when they are adults. Our kids participated in everything and they were fine. Participating in Grandma's services did help them to have closure and will prepare them for the future. More good advice. Since my Mother's death in July, we have visited her grave, with our kids, regularly. The cemetery staff couldn't be nicer or more considerate. They even stop using their equipment when we are there so we can have quiet time, and they offer us water bottles. This was the first funeral I needed to plan and from start to finish, Joe Livingston and the whole Hansen's team were incredible. I could not have asked for a better experience. It is now three months later and I feel compelled to write this review. Hansen's really is a special place and a special team of people. Would I recommend Hansen's - ABSOLUTELY ! Since you are reading this review... - I am sorry for your loss.

During the most painful time in my life, all my contacts at Hansen's Mortuary were fabulous from the very beginning to the end! I am beyond grateful that I went to them! The funeral director, Lesa, was absolutely amazing in guiding me through all the unchartered waters I had to go through. She had so many suggestions to assist me that people in this very sad place might never have considered. Some of the amazing services provided, which I am so thankful for and I used, included: - a beautiful Chapel to have my husband's service in, with 3 wonderful attendents to assist in setting up the flowers and all the pictures and memorabilia I had brought in. They had pedestals, easels, and other set up equipment readily available which I wouldn't have considered needing - suggestion of a slide show prior to the service and how to get that together - picking out some background music to have playing as people arrived - availability of some wonderful services I used which were fabulous: livestream videographer (so people out of state could attend), an amazing caterer that provided a gourmet meal, right on site, in a very comfortable dining area - flower co. information - and other things like a sign in book, memorial cards with a scripture verse, forget-me-not seeds with my husband's picture, etc It was a very profoundly beneficial and very helpful experience, even pleasurable in the midst of great sorrow! I found everyone at Hansen's, from the owners to all the employees to be not only extremely professional but beyond that, caring with a truly heartfelt empathy. (BTW, Lesa - you were a great listener)! I felt that this wasn't just a business to these people, but a ministry! I never felt rushed at all. And every phone call made was handled with such gentleness and met whatever need I had at that moment, quickly. I can't think of one thing that wasn't done with excellence! It was my one shot to honor my Precious Husband with the best service possible and it happened! I most highly recommend Hansen's Mortuary for their great service, helpfulness, and human caring with a heart that they provide! I am forever grateful ❣️ Most appreciately, Shar Halteman

When my father passed away in 2018 we didn’t know where to begin. My son-in-law helped me contact Hansen Desert Hills. They had cared for his grandparents. From the first moment everyone was so kind. And arrangements were made easy. Then just this past May my husband passed away unexpectedly. Once again Lesa and everyone at Hansen’s provided caring, respectful and warm guidance. The service and reception was there and the staff helped our family set up a wonderful tribute backdrop for the service. The reception was also wonderful and the caterer easy to work with. They have even arranged counseling and words of encouragement for months now. We have visited the beautiful healing garden many times. Now once again we have had to call upon Hansen. Our mother passed away early early morning of Christmas Eve. The young man who came in the middle of the night to get her was so considerate and gentle. Lesa, Joy and everyone took the time to help us through the holidays. My family has been blessed to have been led to Hansen Desert Hills. We know we will always be able to count on them. They are truly something special that isn’t found very often nowadays. Thank you Hansen

I called Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary after my nephew searched a change in mortuary from Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary. We had to make a change because Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary treated my deceased husband as if he were diseased and untouchable because he died of Covid. Our viewing was suppose to take place in the garage because he passed of Covid ( we were told that was company policy) but instead, he was put in a crowded storage room. That is where we viewed him. After this very hurtful experience, we had Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary intervene for us. They picked up his body in Fountain Hills and brought him to their location. From that moment on, my husband was treated with respect. He was cared for and received the attention that a deceased love one should receive. I was treated with so much empathy and kindness and received so much help with the process of cremation and burial at the National Memorial Cemetery. The support I received and the way my deceased husband was cared for helped me get through a very sad and emotional process. I feel that calling Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary was a true blessing.

Trish Hansen and her entire team were amazing. They went above and beyond assisting my family and I during a very very difficult, sad, overwhelming time!! My Father's service was wonderful and the huge beautifully decorated room and casket were beautiful. Trish personally introduced herself to my sister and I and my boyfriend. All four of us had a wonderful conversation about life, family. beautiful moments and wonderful memories. I can't say enough about Trish, she is a wonderful woman and beautiful soul. She sent me a beautiful comforting gift. I was so surprised when I received it in the mail. It was called "A Comfort Box", which was made of stunning wood and contained a fragrant memory candle, soft blanket, comfort snacks and many more wonderful items made by kind loving hands. This was very touching and made me feel so special and remembered. Thank you kindly, Trish. Everything went well from start to finishing up at the cemetery. My family and I received excellent service from Hansen Mortuary. My Father would agree!! I highly recommend this business. Sincerely, Christina Cusumano

The staff here and at their 7th Street location have always been incredibly patient, caring and empathetic every time we have worked with them. They are a family, not corporate owned mortuary and it makes a huge difference. The memorial garden is where our mother has been buried for over 8 years and it is by far the most beautifully kept and peaceful cemetery in the Phoenix area. No sinking headstones, no dead grass patches, it is always meticulously maintained. There are sidewalks and walls that separate different areas and it makes it feel personal and small instead of a vast field of graves. There are so many trees for shade and no buildings/traffic to the north of the entire area. We love coming here to visit her and feel peace everytime we do. The staff like I said have always been professional and caring and their prices are equal or less than those at the Dignity owned cemeteries. It is also nice to have access to the air conditioned building during the summer months to get a drink, use the restroom or anytime during the year to talk to the staff if you need to.

Hansen Mortuary & Cemetery is hands down the greatest mortuary, cemetery, and cremation company in Arizona. We've been to many different mortuaries and cemeteries over the last decade it's clear that Hansen's has the friendliest team we've seen. They clearly goes above and beyond in every way you can think of. I honestly can't imagine going anywhere else and will be recommending them to anyone that needs help navigating that crucial time between losing a loved one to the emotional process of grieving. When our Dad passed, I was amazed to find out how many different options and services they can assist with to personalize your experience. They also have a beautiful "Healing Garden" that anyone is welcome to visit. My gosh, just take a walk through the Healing Garden and Cemetery and witness how great this place truly is. Look no further -- you found the right place! Thank you Hansen Mortuaries & Cemetery for your dedication and exceptional work!

Timely. Responsive & respectful of our situation. They gave us a complete and easy to understand description of all our options and their costs. We didn’t need several of their services; there was no attempt to up sell us in any way. They made arrangements with the company that does the cremation, including the paperwork that company needed for permission. The cost of that service was funneled through Hansen - we didn’t have to deal with separate financial arrangements. We didn’t have to deal with anything, honestly. We met twice to finalize our wishes. From that point on, we didn’t have to think about anything. One of the many kindnesses they showed us was to provide an extensive list of grief counseling providers. We would never have thought of that issue at such an emotional time. And, when we realized we needed it we wouldn’t have known where to find it. Would recommend them for the care and dignity you wish for your loved one’s final rest.

The entire staff at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary and Cemetery have been so thoughtful, kind, and caring to my family and I in the passing of my mother. She lived in TN, but we buried her here in AZ. Randy, Tanner, Erica, Hannah, and all the other staff walked us through the options and helped us plan the service and burial. They are so friendly, and have called and texted several times since the funeral to make sure we are doing ok. The staff are very patient with families, and explain everything to you. Any questions I had, they answered, even calling around and finding out about the Order of the Eastern Star. After the funeral, I had questions about what we needed to do for Social Security, and a few other things and Randy talked me through it all. I never felt hurried or pressured in any way. While this was a difficult time for us, the Hansen Staff ensured we were well taken care of and that we had everything we needed.

My dad has been laid to rest in the cremation garden. This couldn't have been a more pleasant moment. The garden is a lovely area well thought out and beautifully landscaped. Their level of care leading up to the service and afterwards has been wonderful. Each member was respectful and attentive to my wife and I. Someone was ready to provide guidance and a handbook on discussing the occasion to our 3 year old son. They also partner with a catering company that was great. The event was delightful. Hummingbirds could be seen in the background and even butterflies visiting around us. Family and friends were provided a different and heartwarming outlook and expressed this after experiencing the event and garden. The garden was a great surprise. I look forward to going there to visit. Part of the garden includes a spot to sit, reflect, and write to your love one.

Throughout the years, Hansen Mortuary has provided guidance and expertise in times of our family crisis with losing family members near and dear to our hearts. When we lost our Grandmother, Hansen Mortuary helped guide us both logistically and emotionally. When we were overcome with sorrow and grief, Hansen assisted us in making the right decisions for our loved one. Making sure we say farewell to our loved ones in the most excellent fashion with elite services provided. Most recently, during these trying times in year 2020, December, we lost our Mother. Once again, we were wrapped in the fog of deep sorrow and the heavy burden of lockdowns and shutdowns. Hansen Mortuary guided our decisions and provided emotional and professional support far beyond our expectations. Words can not express our gratitude ! I am forever grateful ! Kimberly A Gienko

I would like to say that Sara and Hannah as well as all of Hansen's employees were absolutely fabulous. My father had passed in March 2021. We had just moved him to Texas less than a month before. We chose Hansen's because they prepared my brothers funeral a couple of years back and it was so beautiful. Sara and Hannah helped me through long distance prepare all arrangements for his funeral for the VA Cemetery in Arizona. They helped with finding a funeral home who would fly my dad to be prepared there in Arizona with Hansen's and kept me in the loop with everything. They made this process so much easier for me and my family. They gave us as much time as we needed and did a fantastic job with my dad. They are truly a fantastic team who cares for everyone. Also they sent a wonderful comfort gift to us for our loss.

Hi everyone, I am very proud to tell you that staff at Hansen Mortuary are incredible! They were very polite, respectful, and understanding at a time of heartbreak... Hansen is a big beautiful place that was accommodating to all the needs at hand. Chapel, Chaplin, catering, place to gather, and a beautiful yard! They where able to go above and beyond during this pandemic. Everyone wore their mask and the staff was very good at keeping everything clean, organized, and on schedule! My family and friends were impressed and told me many times how beautiful the service was. A lot of them had no idea this place even existed, and have been talking about it ever since. I highly recommend them and I will be having my service there too... Hopefully in a very, very, very, long time!!! Blessing to you all! Garrett.

While no one wants to need the services of a mortuary. At some point we all will need this service. Randy helped us with our final arrangements for our sister and even texted me to check in and see how I was doing. They care about the families they help here. They are family owned and operated and it shows. We first found this mortuary and cemetery in 2004 after my baby niece passed away at age 3. We wanted a peaceful and beautiful place for her. I have never seen a cemetery like this one. It feels like a beautiful park. And you can feel the love here. Many of the headstones and graves are decorated for every holiday by their family. There is a beautiful foundation and angel of hope statue. Visiting here feels comforting and peaceful. I highly highly recommend this mortuary and cemetery.

Losing a spouse who has been amazing is especially heartbreaking. My darling was taken to Hansen by some error. However I feel it was providential, because the gentleman who came to pick up his body from HOV was so caring, even to covering his body with the American Flag. I and our family have been very satisfied with the compassionate care we were given. Lesa has been very helpful, and concerned with my personal well-being as well as providing every possible assistance regarding my husband's wishes. Not being able to have his Memorial Mass and Burial with Full Military Honors because of the virus that has affected our country, has added to my grief, but the daily support from Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary has been uplifting in my grief. God Bless them.

  • Paula Pruett

We have a monument and bench in the Angel of Hope garden and it gave us great comfort to lay our son to rest in such a peaceful and gentle place in the Hansen Mortuary cemetery (Scottsdale on Bell Rd.). We had a private service and the Hansen staff, from selecting what we needed to helping us the day of the burial, were so kind, considerate and supportive. We asked for discretion during this difficult time and we received this treatment with the highest regard. Randy, the director, guided us through the process and Tanner was especially helpful with requirements in the cemetery. While writing a review for such a sensitive and personal subject like this, we hope it helps other families to make this right selection.

My husband passed away on January 5. We have lived in the Phoenix area less than three years so I was overwhelmed and didn’t know where to go. My girlfriend referred Hansen’s Mortuary and my worries were gone. They were so empathetic and supportive to my situation. We have two girls and he worked for the federal government. They worked with me to make sure he was honored in all aspects of his life. I ended up having the entire ceremony there including burial. I have never been at a more serene, calming, and peaceful place. Sara Higgins is excellent and so is the staff. They are still checking in with me and asking about the girls and me. During a very sorrowful place in my life, they provided peace and calm.

FLORISTS BEWARE!!! We delivered a beautiful bouquet at 9am on 12-27-2021. We have pictures of it delivered on the flower delivery desk. We received a call 30 minutes later that it was damaged. Not only was it damaged but someone had a massive amount of neglect. They claim it fell apart. I can tell you it did not. It looked like it had been stomped on. Shameful care. We have been delivering here for 3 years and never had a problem. This place does not take responsibility at all for their own actions. Pictures do not lie. It survived a truck ride and me personally delivering with no issues. Ironically the file sizes of my pictures are too large to post but I can email or text them to anyone who wants them.

My husband died unexpectedly in the middle of the pandemic. I visited another mortuary regarding memorial arrangements and felt very uncomfortable proceeding with their support. I shared my concerns with my church and they suggested contacting Hansen's Desert Hills. From the moment I walked into their mortuary I had a completely different experience and felt sincere care from everyone there. The Funeral Director, Lesa, listened to my desires and concerns and addressed each - beyond what I had imagined. They took care of every detail with great professionalism, simplicity and care. I will always be grateful for having their support through the most challenging time in my life.

My mother had recently passed away. Like anyone else would be I was apprehensive and sad.Lesa At Hanson Desert Hills Mortuary made things so much simpler. She was so calm and so empathetic. She didn’t rush you. She made you feel like you were the most important person. She allowed me to voice my concerns and my sorrow. It was a day later that my two adult sons had come in to visit. I went back up to speak with Lesa,I thought we had papers to sign. We did but it was a wonderful therapeutic visit. She let the three of us laugh and cry. Had no judgment at all. Everyone that I have encountered up at Hanson has been wonderful. They helped all the clouds in my head lessen.

  • Angela Straughan

I would definitely recommend using Hansen's. They were professional, polite, sincere and very obvious that they cared. It never felt like they were just doing their job, every phone call was pleasant, and even when we went to pick up my father's remains, they took us in a room and gave us time to process the fact that we were picking up ashes and that my dad would never be coming home again. They also sent a text a few weeks later checking in to make sure we were doing ok. They mailed us a comfort box which was very kind and welcoming. I hope to not have to see them again soon, for obvious reasons, but when the time comes, I will use them again for sure.

  • Jamie Brown

Hansen Mortuary and their entire staff was wonderful to work with during the difficult loss of a family member. They were very caring, no pressure on any sales and professional. The staff communicated any questions and were so kind to our family. Lesa was comforting and took the time to walk thru every step with us and has followed up quickly on questions. Joy who did the program made sure it was just right and personalized. The staff who came to the service were comforting and friendly. Their staff also has two wonderful comfort dogs dogs you can also visit. Thank you for being excellent at what you do during the hardest time for families. God Bless!

The staff at Hansen, especially Sarah and Erika, went above and beyond all expectations of help and kindness during this most difficult time. I was suddenly and most unexpectedly left with making arrangements for a dear friend. Having relied on Hansen when my husband passed in 2009 I again turned to them for help. I was not disappointed. I was pleased that Sarah and Erika were able to “take charge” and guide me through a painful situation. They worked not only with me but with our parish and the cemetery so that everything went smoothly. I cannot thank them enough for their help, many acts of kindness and true sympathy for my loss and situation..

  • Debra Oneill

My mom had a pre arranged program so when she died it was all handled. Problem is they forgot she had a son. So when I flew 1300 miles to attend the funeral to my surprise my sister had changed things and made it all about her not my mother. Even the Deacon overseeing the funeral was not informed of my presence. It wasn't til afterwards that my wife approached the deacon and let him know of the injustice that happened. This should have been known to Hansen's and they dropped the ball. Too bad, this only happens once in a life time. They should have taken a bit longer to develop the funeral. Shame. Never use or recommend these people to anyone.

  • Priscilla Hernandez

When I lost my sister I decided to come to this funeral home to have her service. Their location is so beautiful with a garden gorgeous flowers and they keep it very clean. Lesa was our director and was one of the kindest people I’ve ever met.. Hannah was also very sweet and helpful. They are so kind and make sure you never feel pressured or rushed during the whole process. Even after her service I’ve had a difficult time grieving and they have sent me text messages reaching out as well as care package that came with a blanket, candles and other gifts. Thank you so much Hansen’s Mortuary and a special thank you to Lesa and Hannah ❤️

My husband recently passed away and we used Hansen's mortuary for his viewing. The people there were so compassionate and nice and they made my husband look absolutely fantastic, just like when he was alive whi bech made me so happy. I will never forget their kindness there, and recommend to anyone looking for a mortuary to use Hanson's mortuary you'll never regret it. They also were a great help in navigating this difficult time helping me with all sorts of details that I had no knowledge of how to take care of, and took care of the majority of it themselves. Thank you Hanson's for making this hard time a little bit easier

  • tizoc LosAngeles (tizoc89)

Very Professional and Caring people. I went to several mortuaries for my mom and most of them acted like a you wanted to open a bank account plus the places looked rundown and of course I wanted something special. As soon as I stepped into Hansen Mortuaries I felt the caring and seriousness the process required specially from Becky and Jef, they showed concern and empathy. The prices were about the same as the rundown mortuaries so this was a no brainer. We had the service it was beautiful and everyone left with a sense of tranquility and serenity. Thank you Hansen Mortuary for making my mom's funeral something special.

My wife of 57 years was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and passed 3 months later. 10 years prior we visited Hansen Mortuary on E Bell Rd and bought insurance policies and left instructions of exactly what we wanted done so when the very unexpected and much earlier than expected emergency happened there were no last minute decisions or wondering how to pay for this. The Hansen family handled everything very professionally. They took ca re of my wife with loving care. I'm still learning how to live without her, but the stress of all the final procedures went smoothly because of their caring.

We recently used Hansen mortuary when my mother passed. We selected them, originally because we had used Hansen when my father passed about 25 years ago, and I couldn’t be happier with them. Hansen handled my mom’s cremation and is coordinating with the VA to bury her with my father. The staff are compassionate, gracious, and patient. They truly care and you can feel and see it in their words and actions. Although we did not bury my mom in their cemetery, I did walk through several times and it is so serene and soothing to the soul. I felt it uplifting and light on the spirit.

Sarah has been the most accomadating, comforting and compassionate person imaginable. They have worked out a solution to every complicated request I've had to make without even hesitating, like magic. I'm so glad we went with them this has been a horrific tragedy and the service they have given us has been stellar. I cant even say enough good things about this place. We had to be the least worthwhile clients they've ever had as we utilized practically none of the things that make them money and yet they still continue to bend over backwards for us and seem happy to do so.

Hansen has made a very difficult time easy. My grandmother passed away about 6 years ago and we used Hansen then. The experience was so positive that when my mother passed away recently, I chose to use Hansen again. The arrangements went very smoothly without any issues whatsoever. They are always available when you have questions. I felt like, after the initial meeting and “orientation”, all we had to do after that is focus to be with family and friends. I never had to worry about anything else! I have already recommended Hansen to friends and family that have asked.

This is a newer Cemetery which usually I do not find that interesting. However this one was different in that the mausoleum in particular but also the tombstones had a very Personal Touch. Whoever does the engraving and work on the Tombstones is a very skilled most of them contained drawings or pictures of the person as well as quotes or other personal information. The mausoleum for the cremated remains contained essentially little dioramas of each person's life behind glass. Was very touching. This is one of the more intimate and moving cemeteries that I visited.

My children and I celebrated my wife’s life here last month. I can not say enough about how wonderful everyone is at Hansen’s. There is so much support. They have a wonderful psychologist on staff that is always available to help and so very helpful in helping me and my children deal with the loss, their mother’s viewing, ceremony and so on. The grounds are lovely, peaceful, and respectful. There garden of healing is meaningful, and therapeutic. Everyone has gone above and beyond and we could not be happier. I highly recommend Hansen’s mortuary and cemeteries.

  • Jennifer Rusch

Hansen’s staff has helped our family with not just one but four funerals in the last 4 years. They are so great to work with, they take the time to listen and get to know the living family members as well as the loved one they are caring for. I would recommend them to anyone I know. They know you are most likely working on a budget and never push you to something you don’t want or need. Every decision is discussed before the final arrangements are made. You guys are the best. We will continue to use your services but hopefully not too soon in the near future.

Selecting a mortuary to handle the end of life process for your loved one is Never an easy task. After my daughter passed away suddenly 8 years ago, I was completely devastated. I met with two mortuaries and ultimately chose Hansen’s due to their personal care, compassion, attention to detail and beautifully manicured, pristine park grounds. A few weeks ago, my father transitioned and I trusted no other than Hansen’s to handle my Dad’s final care. I am forever thankful to Hansen’s team for caring for myself and family at the most difficult times of our lives.

We had our loved one's memorial service and reception here yesterday and were so pleased from inception to conclusion. They offered simple solutions which is a huge comfort to a family with many needs. The team there was so kind, gentle, organized, responsive and helpful throughout every step. They even helped us with a piper, delicious catering and audio visual needs. The whole facility is lovely and peaceful. I'm so pleased that they supported us perfectly through our challenging journey to honor our dear one. I recommend without reservation.

When our beloved son passed away unexpectedly on September 28th, we knew that we would be contacting Hansen. They were there for us when my Mom passed away in 2006, and we knew that they would be there for us, again. Losing our son was devastating, and I didn't know how I was going to make it through the days. Randy, Trish, Tanner, Erica, Joy, Hannah, Leesa and everyone else that we talked to were incredibly caring and supportive. They were there for us every step of the way, and I cannot thank them enough for all they have done for us.

  • Cheryl Harzke

I want to let everyone that the people at Hansen’s are so wonderful. My brother was in hospital in Phoenix . I had gone home and was coming back to pick him up . But sorry to say he passed . I was 4 hours away when I got the call. I didn’t know what to do . I called Hansen’s and Lesa picked up the phone . She was my angel!shetold me not to worry . She handled everything that needed to be done. Not once while getting details done did she ask about money or payment . I will always go back to desert hills ! Thank you all so much !❤️❤️❤️❤️

We lost my father on June 9th, 2022. From the very first contact we had with Hansen's Mortuary, it has been an incredibly positive experience. They showed the utmost compassion and empathy, for both our father and family, in a time that was clouded with sadness and uncertainty. They also provide grief counseling to family and friends- at no cost, which is such an incredible extension of kindness. I will forever support this family-owned and operated business, as I believe they are in the industry for all the right reasons.

After the passing of our Mother we had to ensure that all of the arrangements as well as her Memorial would take place in one she would be pleased. Caring staff, empathetic and active listening to our needs. Plus things we did not think to ask…….was all answered promptly and kindly. Always checking on us and made everything so effortless. At these times we needed someone to take our direction and the reins. We are so grateful that you made this difficult time smooth and removed so much of the stress. Thank you!!! Please

We had an excellent experience working with Hansen Desert Hills in Scottsdale, AZ. They were extremely professional, kind, and went out of their way to help us plan a funeral remotely due to the pandemic. They created a beautiful virtual service in Scottsdale while also coordinating with a funeral home in another state to have our love one flown there and buried following the funeral. They went above and beyond in every way to help us during this difficult time. Thank you to Lesa and her entire staff!

  • Michael Staples

Trish, Lesa, and the entire staff at Hansen Desert Hills were extremely thoughtful, professional, and supportive after the difficult loss of my wife. Everyone was very accessible and responsive and made the extra effort to care for our loved one and guide us through all the arrangements. The Scottsdale location met out needs and was very new, nice, and well maintained. I feel fortunate to have found Hansen Desert Hills during a time of grief and crisis for our family.

Randy was great to work with in arranging all the details of my dad’s service and cremation. He was professional, knowledgeable, empathetic, and got things done fast and effectively. He was also very responsive and accessible for any questions I had even after hours and on the weekend. This is the last thing anyone wants to be doing...but when it happens to your family I would highly recommend Hansen for handling your loved one’s funeral arrangements.

  • Tom Hertig

My dad passed away in Akron, OH and we had to make arrangements to have him flown back here. Hansen worked with the mortuary there and took care of all the details so we didn't have to worry about a thing. Very professional from start to finish and the location is beautiful. They did everything possible to make this moment pleasant and were highly accommodating to some last minute changes that came about. Many thanks to Breann and all of you there.

With the recent passing of our mother, Hansen Mortuary reassured our family by their care & compassion upon our initial meeting. They handled the coordination of air transport to another mortuary which was out of state. In addition, Hansen Mortuary ensured our wishes were met with her style of hair, make-up, and even mom’s wish of including her beloved cat’s ashes be with her. We will be entrusting Hansen Mortuary in the future.

I have received caring and compassionate assistance during each of my three occasions where I have required their services. I would definitely recommend them to anyone and everyone.

If I could give 10000 stars, I would. Huge thank you to Randy, and the rest of the team for helping me with the loss of my son. Randy would call and keep me updated with my sons cremations, and about my wellbeing. My sons due date was a couple days before Christmas, and they sent me out a very nice and engraved ornament with his name on it. I thank you guys so much!!!
