The service here is absolutely terrible with conflicting information everywhere. Tl;dr: Brunette with glasses should consider taking some customer service skills training/have more consideration for people. You made my hit and run experience ten times worse. Details: I rushed to the CRC after work on a Friday to report a hit and run that happened at around midnight on my way home from my previous shift. I got there at 5:22 and was told that they are closing in 8 minutes so I will have to come back later to do the report but they can still take the pictures. Brunette with glasses took the pics and informed me that I need to make come in before 5pm to do the report and this needs to be done in 7 days. Mind you, the police that attended my collision called their dispatch and informed me that the collision reporting center's hours are from 10-6pm. Ok, that's fine. I live in Cambridge and work as a paramedic and physician assistant so my work hours are long and my hours off are very little and do not coincide with normal office hours very often. I could only come back 3 days later on my one day off (before the 7 day deadline). So before I make the trip to Hamilton, I call to see if I could possibly just make the report over the phone. They say no...which is understandable. The lady also tells me that the last report intake is 5:30pm which is funny because the brunette with glasses told me last time that it was before 5pm. I'm pretty sure the person on the phone is still the brunette but she makes some excuse that it takes 40 minutes to do the report (not addressing the discrepancy in times that was given). Anyways, I make the drive to Hamilton and then she tells me that I need to have a physical copy of my license, registration and insurance. She did not care at all that I was driving in from further away; she did not even consider a digital copy (especially with the pandemic, why isn't a digital copy sufficient?!) So now I'm scrambling to find a print shop that's still open amidst this pandemic. It took me an hour to arrange this. When I came back, I suggested that they should update their website to clearly state that physicial copies were required. The brunette with glasses tells me that their website is updated stating they do require physical copies (which it's not! Please look at my pictures for reference), then back pedals and says it's synonymous with the Highway Traffic Act which requires physical copies. That's horrible logic. If I'm not driving in to the collision center with the vehicle involved in the collision, it's entirely possible that I only have a digital copy. While I'm filling out the collision report, another person comes in to file a report. She apparently did not bring her vehicle for the report and was told that she needed to bring her vehicle. AGAIN, she was not told that physical copies of her registration, license, and insurance are required. Honestly, if she did not know that she needed to bring in her vehicle for the report, wouldn't it be the right thing to do to let her know what else she needed? I let her know so she wouldn't go through the same headache I went through.
I was advised to attend this location and, upon arrival during COVID-19 restrictions, the use of a telephone to alert staff you're there is required. Signage for cleaning the phone between others attending is very poor or non-existant with limited supplies available. The brunette woman who took my information, photos of my car and gave out forms was rude and unhelpful; quite dismissive during an extremely stressful situation. Lack of support and direction is sorely missing at this location, especially when one has been in an accident and has never navigated through this type of situation before. I would strongly suggest staff take on-going customer relations training to ensure those who have been negatively impacted by a MVA be treated with more dignity and respect.
Terrible customer service on 3 separate phone calls. The first employee I asked to get my incident number because they failed to email it to me after 10 days. The collision centre employee asked for my last name to begin the process. I said "C---A---H"... after being interrupted by frustration, the employee said " Sir. I'm going to have to ask you to slow down"! I gave my name very slowly after that since the employee was extremely aggravated. This was only one of three phone conversations. These employees are not police officers; they should not be given the authority to disrespect the citizens of Hamilton. They took an already terrible day and somehow made it worse than the crime.
I got in an accident a few weeks ago, the whole experience with the other car, insurance, rental and repair service was very smooth, efficient and polite. The collision centre workers were extremely rude and short the moment I arrived. Very dismissive and spoke down to me. I consider myself very professional and respectful person and found that they made an already stressful event like an accident worse. I know Covid and heat wave can put extra stressors on staff. Im not one to write reviews but maybe we need to be more mindful how we treat others and add unnecessary stressors.
Went in today Saturday may 28th at 12:30. I was helped right away this was my first time having to report an accident and the young lady named val was very helpful she walked me through the whole process step by step making the whole thing easy to understand she was helping multiple people but never made me feel neglected always around and very polite and professional. As long as you have all your documents ready and everything is up to date its smooth sailing. I cant thank this lovely lady enough for all the help glad to know we have people like that still out there.
Mirroring the other negative reviews of this place, I had a very negative experience here as well. The lady who ''assisted'' me had a very poor attitude right from her first words to me, was extremely curt in the way she spoke, and made it seem like it was an inconvenience for me to be there. If someone has this poor level of customer service I am not sure why they are able to hold this position. I feel sorry for anyone who may have been in a horrible accident to then have to deal with this woman afterwards.
The girl ( brown hair) at the Rymal road location needs People Skills Training. Aug 2021 comes out all " large and in charge" as if she is an actual Cop. She/ they are in fact a third party organization that just handles the collision centre portion. ALL BUSINESS/Cut and dry attitude. Stop pretending you are a cop! Aside from that they are overwhelmed with reports. Hire some people with better personalities!
Obviously wasn't having a great day in having to attend the collision reporting centre on the weekend. The staff member who assisted us was fantastic. It was VERY busy with some irate people milling about and she handled the crowd with ease and professionalism. She was courteous, patient and kind. Made the best of a bad situation for sure.
I have to agree the brunette lady is not very friendly and shouldn’t be working there. My accident was in February and I still have not received an incident number which the insurance company will not proceed until I receive. I have called several times to get a voicemail that no one responds to please help !!
Went in Friday afternoon, both Jen and Matt are great . Take your license, insurance, and ownership, complete the forms (all highlighted areas), and you are golden! They will take photos of your vehicle ! Both Jen and Matt are friendly and knowledgeable. Thank you …
sent from King Street East (who are not taking Collision Reports) To the Rymal rd location...only to find out they are closed Saturday and Sundays, So how do you report a collision within 24 hours when you are closed for 48 hours...yet your website states otherwise???
I had to call to get my incident number from an accident I had last January. The lady on the phone today was really helpful and gave me the information I needed. I don't know why the other reviews are so low, I have never had a bad experience with them at all!
I come here to report an collision, which means my car is damaged and I am very upset. The rude attitude of the staff telling me that I have not finished filling the form makes me even more upset.
overall very helpful friendly staff.. made the process quick and almost painless... Hopefully wont ever have to come back here anytime soon .
Bad experience from top to bottom. Very rude staff, I felt very rushed and was hardly given a chance to ask any questions.
She was very professional and it was done very quickly.
Just rude is best way to describe the staff
