My three-year-old absolutely hates haircuts. Screams the place down, and is so distressed. It’s horrible for everyone involved. I took him into Hair by Rebecca today to have a look around, and give him a bit of a feel for the place. Not in my wildest dreams did I think we would walk out with a perfect haircut!!! All without one tear, wore the cape, used the clippers, laughed and smiled!! I am literally speechless! We had the pleasure of having Gemma as our hairdresser, who very quickly earned my sons trust, and continued to read and respond to him so well through the whole haircut. Our aim was just to get him familiar with the process, and maybe just a little trim if we could, but it went so well, that he had a whole haircut - no fuss at all! Gemma was patient, calm, fun, and just absolutely beautiful. Nothing was rushed, there was no pressure, and I didn’t feel anxious the whole time like I have when taking him to the barber. I am so thankful we came past today, and so thankful for you Gemma. Thank you for taking the time with my son, and changing him from being completely petrified, to enjoy having his haircut - IN JUST ONE VISIT!! We will be customers for life! I can not recommend this service any higher. I am literally blown away. From a previously very stressed out when it comes to a haircut, Mumma.

I loved going to the Magic Castle to watch the close-up magicians when I lived in Los Angeles. I would sit, mouth agape, watching these masterful illusionists do the seemingly impossible. That’s how I felt a few days ago watching Melody accomplish the impossible: give our 3-year-old son a haircut. A GREAT haircut! We’ve tried three times on three different continents with three different salons. To be clear, we were visiting family, not traveling the world to get our son a haircut. We don’t have that kind of money. Ironically, I complained about the 30 minute drive from North Haven to Modbury. After Melody worked her magic, I said to my wife, “If we moved to Victor Harbor, I would make the drive.” And I meant it. If you have a kid with a serious aversion to getting his/her haircut, book an appointment here. If you have a kid who has no issues getting his/her haircut, book an appointment here. The outcome will be the same: a great haircut and happy parents.

The first 3 times I took my daughter here (2 full haircuts and 1 just a fringe cut) I had no complaint, however today was a different experience. Made an appointment but when I got there was told it was at a later time, sat around for 20 minutes waiting. The girl who cut it was getting frustrated at my daughter looking around and was rude trying to get her to stay still. I didn't want her hair too short, which I made clear. It was a decent length to start with and now just below her shoulders. It's wavy when dry so I didn't notice when it was wet and she was cutting it. I miss my daughters hair and regret taking her today.

I took my son to hair by Rebecca, I normally take him to a men's hair dresser but I heard great things about this place. I asked for short on the side and very long on the top, when I go to men's hairdresser they always ask me how long I want it when they get to the top part but at Rebecca's in modbury it was like they just wanted to rush us out and get to the next client. The hair dresser started cutting more than half the length off the top, I told her that it was too short and that she didn't ask me what length I wanted- she just looked at me . What made it worse we had our first family photo shoot.

Oh After a bad home fringe cut by yours truly…I am so glad we ended up getting it professional fixed. The second we arrived to Hair by Rebecca, my daughter was so amazed. She picked out the tractor to sit on and instantly, what could potentially be a traumatic, scary experience was one of happiness and excitement. Everyone was so kind and very easy to talk too. Any parent can understand the saying, ‘never work with children or animals’ it’s a difficult task at times! So I’m very thankful a business is so committed to delivering an amazing experience for children! Couldn’t be happier, thank you so so much.

Highly recommend this hairdresser!! I was recommended by a family member to come here, as my son hates getting his hair cut and they have cool cars to sit in for kids. They have a lovely play corner to relax in, as we arrived early. Gemma cut my sons hair and she was absolutely amazing with him! So gentle and accommodating, she set up his fave shows on the iPads and got to work. The way Gemma built trust with my son was so amazing to watch, communicating with him with every step. We left with a lovely haircut, no tears, happy son and a very happy Mum and Dad!! We will definitely be back!

I have being taking my kids to Hair by Rebecca for a few years now and it’s always a great experience! My youngest didn’t like haircuts and although our first time there was a little rough, he has grown to love it and now enjoys his cuts without tears. Rebecca is really good for kids with asd and sensory needs and the staff is friendly and accomodating. Great variety of chairs for the kids to choose, TVs with favourite shows/movies playing and iPads with lots of apps to distract them. They always look forward to their lollipop at the end :)

I called to book an appointment for my 3 year old and there was availability the same day. My son got to pick a vehicle and the hair dresser was even happy for him to switch vehicles half way through the cut. iPads movable depending where your child is sitting with a huge selection of games and shows. This is the only place I'll ever go to get my child's hair cut. Absolutely fantastic kid centred service. Wish I could give more than five stars. Price is a little more than other places but it's worth it for the speciality service.

I would definitely recommend Rebecca and her staff. Highly qualified and professional.. Their cutting skills are precise and colouring of hair always a delight. They cater for adults and children. Having four special needs children, I had had a lot of trouble getting them to get a haircut. After finding Hair by Rebecca, they now enjoy having their hair cut. Rebecca goes above and beyond for us each and every time. She will even open early so we don't have to worry about other people just so my children can feel comfortable. I had an appointment booked for my 15 month old son to get his first hair cut and he ended up coming down ill. So unwell that I hadn’t had a chance to even pick up my phone. Being a single mum I had no one else to call for me and they called me telling me I could of called and while I explained that I couldn’t my son was screaming in the background she then scoffed and whatever then hung up the phone. Such bad customer service and 0 understanding or empathy.

Visited a few months ago and the experience was great - they did a fantastic job with my child. They were friendly, fast, well organised and attentive to fine details. My son loved his new hair do once they were finished. Definitely recommend for kids hair. My sister-in-law brings her grandkids here as well which is how I first heard about hair by Rebecca. She was raving about the service and her grandbabies love visiting - Boy and girl. 5 stars.

Absolutely awesome experience for my 6 year old ASD daughter. Totally understood when anxiety meant she needed a quick trip to the toilet, verbalised every touch so she accepted and didn’t flinch once. Spoilt her with glitter, flower in hair, balloon, lollipop and bracelet! She will definitely wanting another hair cut and that will be the first time ever. Michelle was lovely and I would highly recommend her and this lovely child centred salon.

The lady who did my hair was extremely friendly and asked a bunch of questions on how I want my hair dyed to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. I got a full revamp of my hair, colour and cut. It was well priced and came out perfectly. Would definitely recommend, they do a lot of hair cuts for babies so there can be a bit of sound if that is something that bothers you, however from what I saw they are very well handled with the kids.

I had the most amazing experience in salon this morning. This was my sons 3rd hair cut and we swapped tantrums and mum stressing out for a happy baby and a mum in utter disbelief. I unfortunately didn’t get the ladies name but she was so incredible getting on the floor and cutting my sons hair in the play area to avoid stressing him out. My son had his first hair cut appointment at Hair by Rebecca today. As soon as we entered, we were kindly welcomed and the staff were very friendly. Annemarie was the hair dresser for my son. She was very friendly and constantly interacting with my son and us. She was very calm and and amazing hair dresser. I would recommend going to hair by Rebecca and specially going to Annemarie. The hairdresser that we had stank of cigarettes which isn't nice for anyone let alone kids stuck right next to her in a chair. She didn't listen to any of our preferences and as I had my son on my lap, she hit me in the face with the clippers and then the hair dryer but didn't apologise. Lucky my son's haircut turned out ok and it wasn't overly expensive but the products are very pricey.

My son has always hated haircuts! He always fights and struggles. It's always very stressful! Today at Hair by Rebecca I was in awe! My son felt safe, and comfortable. He loved the play corner, and then he sat in a digger chair and had his hair cut like a pro. Not a single fuss was made by him. Rebecca was very caring. The haircut is perfect! Love how this hairdresser is set up for kids. My son loved it, he was spoilt for choice with which character seat to sit in, then he had an iPad to watch the wiggles on. The hairdresser quickly and efficiently cut his hair before he got restless. All the staff are very friendly too. The only trouble was my son didn't want to leave! Will definitely be coming here again though.

My son has never had hair cut since born. Everytime I tried to cut his hair, he will scream and cry even I promise he can have icecream later. My son hates having his haircut. Someone told us about Hair by Rebecca and the wonderful atmosphere with the Lightning McQueen car and videos. The girls were wonderful and Rebecca was so patient and gave my son a great haircut and he even got a lollipop when finished. Used to take my children here all the time. Great service. Quality work. Fun environment with novelty chairs. I was walking past there recently, and the owner stepped out to say hello - she remembered me from years ago. Would definitely recommend anyone with children to go there. They do a great job on kids hair cuts, with cool chairs for the kids, tablets with movies on them and they really know how to deal with kids who are scared. It was amazing to watch how the helped a child with autism enjoy their hair cut. Really recommend these guys. I got my hair cut there too and they did a great job.

I'm the sort of person who is very sceptical about going to a new hairdresser, but I'm just so glad i did this time. Got a style cut and highlights done by Jess, and wow she did a fantastic job. My 19 month old son has been traumatised from getting his hair cut. We have visited Hair by Rebecca a few times but today Rebecca cut his hair standing up. And although there was constant tears she was quick and it didn’t seem as traumatising as other times. She was patient and caring, highly recommend.

My son is extremely sensitive to noises and it's a battle to get his hair cut, the staff are so gentle and manage to get his hair cut with little trouble constantly reassuring and very friendly. What a hidden gem, super kid friendly and amazingly talented hairdressers. So accommodating for my little boy who took a long time to come around to hair cuts nothing is too much trouble. As a busy mum, I can also pop for a cut or blow dry while my little one plays.

Drove 20kms to this saloon for our 2 yr old son's hair cut and it was totally worth it. The team here is amazing and welcoming. They also have a small kids play area which really helped my son settle in the environment before his haircut. Highly recommend

I do not recommend this salon for getting your child's ears pierced. They completely screwed up my poor daughters piercing and gave us the wrong care advice.
