As a lifelong Edmontonian, I have been visiting this park since I was small. I went again in July of 2023 for my first time in years and had fun, but was also a bit dissapointed. My issue isn't what other people complain about which is the fact that they switched the park to be Hasbro theme, which "ruins nostalgia", in what seemed to be the malls most recent money grab. My issue lies with they have taken a lot of rides out of the park. The famous triple loop indoor roller coaster (my old favorite for years) has been taken out, as well as a lot of the other bigger scarier rides. I understand they want to make it a family friendly park, but it feels like in trying to be accessible to kids, they've forgotten everyone else. On a weekday when it's not busy, you could ride all the rides in maybe 2-4 hours tops. They're just isn't nearly as many rides as they used to have. And my BIGGEST issue is that they charge a whopping $68 for a ride all day pass. That is beyond ridiculous for what you get and how much entertainment you'll receive from the park. I understand they need to make money but they shouldn't have made tickets more then the $50 they had years ago. It just feels like a ridiculous money grab. You'd be much better off spending that money go to the WEM waterpark, where you could spent double the time for the same, if not less money. I did still have fun at the park but it's just not affordable anymore so keep in mind the tickets add up fast!

Update 2023: Rides have been given a facelift and some welcome changes. One not so great change is WEM getting rid of the Mindbender. The space galaxy theme has changed to the Hasbro logo which is neat in its execution. I don’t know how excited kids are about winning a stuffed Monopoly man but other than that it looks really great and the updated rides are much more modern. I still think prices are expensive but there is a reduced rate now for wristbands with parents going with kids who need a chaperone. Post from 2020- Great variety of rides and with toddler time the prices are good. However, I would say it is quite pricey if you are going with normal prices. The rides are well done but I would also say the place is due for renovation. It looks outdated and dingy to me, probably since it still has a very strong theme from my childhood. To my children though, they love it and have already declared they want to live here. I will definitely keep coming back. My only complaint is that adults have to pay full price on rides that require them to come with kids. I wish their was a discounted pass or tickets when you are a chaperone. Or that you wouldn't require tickets if you went with someone who required you to accompany them. I hate paying full price to stand next to my kid on the merry go round!

2022 June 5★ Love rides while being in an air conditioned environment? This is really for you. Part of West Edmonton Mall, this amusement park is really huge for it's size. There are currently 27 rides for all ages, even one too scary for the older kids... But it's all good. Beginner Rides 1 Flight to Equestria - like a ferris wheel 2 Carousel 3 Rainbow Bounce 4 Dragon Wagon 5 Fun House 6 Galactic Rodeo 7 Galaxy Express - a train going around the park 8 Galaxy Kids Playpark 9 Micro Machines Motojump - circular motorcycle themed car ride 10 Dizzy Doh Dohs - spinners 11 Micro Machinus Auro - circular car ride Intermediate Rides 12 Autosled - a fairly fast roller coaster 13 Cosmic Spinner - a sit in spinner 14 Flying Galleon - a swinging boat 16 Quirks in the Works - a sit down shooting game 17 Ropes Quest - route climbing 18 Swing of the Century - huge swing 19 Lazer Vault - more like a game room 20 Time Freak - a game room 21 Hungry Hungry Hippos Feeding Frenzy - bumper cars 22 Galaxy Orbiter - a roller coaster with a spinning carriage Advanced 23 HAVOC - huge roller coaster 24 Mindbender - a spinning ride 25 Space Shot - a high flying tower flight/drop 26 Trouble Twist 27 Haunted Castle Staff are friendly. At $59 it's not bad. Worth the visit. Would recommend.

Pathetic - definitely not worth the cost of tickets. Many rides not available or closed / under renovation etc and not advertised on website appropriately for travellers coming out of province. Far far worse is the staff. The employees that are supposed to be managing the ride attractions are ridiculous. Clearly underpaid or not incentivized- they stagger around like a “walking dead” attraction rather than an amusement park. While some theme parks will shorten ride times to speed customers and fair goers through (Pacific National Exhibition / CNE or Red River Exhibition) West Edmonton Mall Galaxyland seems to suppress ridership to artificially increase lines and wait times - to create a sense of demand that simply isn’t there. Absolutely the lowest point of a trip to Alberta / Edmonton. Spend your money elsewhere like the High-Level Bridge Street Cars etc. As stated many rides being run at 50% capacity to generate a false sense of demand and keep line ups forming? Almost the opposite of lean throughout and good business sense.

Price of entry is very steep, not worth it if you consider that most of the time, at least a third of their rides are out of service. And most of their rides don't allow kids under certain height, so if you have young children, this is not the ideal attraction for them. You can get a better experience for them for much lesser price somewhere else. The ride times are also extremely short. By the time your child is getting into the fun, they stop and the attendants (mostly teens themselves) abrasively rush the kids out. Not a very memorable and kind experience for the little ones. Also make sure to NOT put the wrist bands on the kids because if they lose it (which is very likely), some attendants won't let them on rides. (The more reasonable will if you show them the receipt). All in all, NOT a good Bang for your Buck(s)

The rides and attractions that were open were excellent and fun! It is unfortunate that many attractions like the famous Mind Bender, Drop of Room, Haunted House and others are closed. This is a great place to take your kids as the rides are designed for both adults and children to ride together. Of course the fact that it is inside means that weather is never a factor when coming here which is a huge bonus over the outdoor parks. The cotton candy ducks and characters are so original and cute! What a fantastic idea. The Trouble ride is amazing! It is the first time that I have come off a ride truly exhausted! It would be nice for the operators to offer a half day pass for those that come near the end. I am not sure that it is appropriate to be charging for a full day to someone that comes in 3 hours before close.

  • Coleen McNeil

We had a really fun time but sad that many attractions were closed and admission did not reflect that (which is a bit disappointing). My children had a very fun time on the bumper cars and small dragon roller coaster. The clip in arial course was very fun but the wait time was very long. Many attractions seemed to not have enough staff, and this contributed to the very long (25 minutes+) wait time. During this time waiting, an incident occurred that an individual was yelling profanities and, in general, being quite rude to another person. There was no security to help, but people voiced their concerns and told this person to please move along. The bathrooms were clean and easy to locate.

  • Dave Formosa

Decent place. Seems more suitable for kids 10 years and younger. Price is too high for what’s offered (compared to other parks) 3 rides were shut down while we visited.(good amount considering they don’t have much) No discount for the shut downs or anything offered still cost full price. So maybe that’s the value I felt I was missing. Staff all seemed very unhappy and miserable towards guest. Happy guest start with happy staff. Happy staff start with management. Invest in your staff and they will invest in your guest.

July 9, 2021. Always amazed by the rides that are under one roof. You have to come here at least once to see one of the largest indoor amusement parks in the world. It’s an indoor amusement park. The rides in here are awesome. Its got the largest indoor roller coaster in the world that in itself is amazing. There is so much going on that your head gets turned around all the time. This place is clean and tidy. The staff is friendly and attentive. This is just a cool place. I have been coming here for many years and have always enjoyed the experience.

  • Heather H

I went on Oct. 28th, fright night, and half the park was closed. There was 5-6 rides closed. The haunted house was under construction, which i don't believe there was a notice when I bought the tickets. Also, when my partner and I were in line for a ride, half the seats were empty. We where in line for 40 minutes, then a fire alarm went off and all the rides had to shut down. After that we left. There was no longer a ponit to be there. So I wasted the $90, which I'd like back because that wasn't worth it.

It sure has changed since I was a child. Some of the classic rides are still there like the roller coaster and the swings. I love the addition of the Hasbro games theme too. The Monoploy train ride, and the My Little Pony balloon ride were 2 that we tried and enjoyed. Many others had long limes ups and looked a lot of fun such as the Hungry Hippos bumper cars. Segeral other classic rides were closed which made long lines upside at others.

Prices are a complete rip off. My 5 yr old was charged full price adult because she was exactly 43” tall, which is their cut off height for charging between a kids rate and an adult rate. And then there are weight and height restrictions on nearly all the rides, excluding her for half of them. And then a bunch aren’t even operating. Save your money and go anywhere else. I’ve never heard of places charging a 5yr old as an adult with access to only half the park.

Had a really nice time here on Thursday. I hadn't realized that they are open shorter hours on Thursday. However, also had reduced pricing. So felt like we got our money's worth. A couple of rides were closed for Maintenence. Would recommend, especially on Mon-Thurs when it's a little cheaper. Since it's now owned by Hasbro they have a whole board game theme and characters walking around that you can take pics with.

Overall, it was fun. Quite a few rides to choose from, and they were great for indoors. Lots of choice for all ages. But the all-day pass wasn't really worth it. A couple of hours here was plenty to go on the rides we wanted. It was very hot in there, so the occasional breeze from a ride racing by was welcomed! The games for use with the playcard were expensive, and prizes to swap for tickets were poor quality.

Very disappointed! We had to pay the full price even with 5 attractions closed. If maintenance is being done, at least inform the customer and offer them a discount. But instead you make us pay the full price and let us find out the disappointment on our own. very bad customer service! What a pathetic response! Who researches maintenance schedules? It is staff responsibility to inform visitors. But that's what you get when you hire kids to do that job! no sense of customer service!

  • Leyla Bee

I say 2.5- 3 stars. With half the rides being open and no dates or information stating that until you get there., it was very disappointing finding out Half the attractions are always closed and it seems like they are lacking workers for the place. Attendants at the front could be more friendly with a smile, as you would expect service to be part of the experience at such an “exciting” place.

Total rip off. On a Sunday they are only open till 6pm. By the time we got there, there was only an hour left. This was a gift for my nephews after they had done World water park and this wanted to do this and it was our last day at WEM. Fine. We were still charged $200 for three people and that did not include the arcade or any Hasbro themed games which started at $6 for one turn. If you want to play the arcade Go to Ed’s Rec room, albeit very noisy still a lot cheaper than here.

  • Ben

The day pass should be half price as only half the park is ever running. This is a chronic issue perhaps a proper maintenance budget would help. The kids play are is not acceptable, significant portions just roped off and there's actual exposed fiberglass. Someone needs to call for a health and safety inspection there I really want to give this place 5 stars but I simply can't with how it's been run over the last decade. If things changes for the better I'll update this post.

GalaxyLand offers an array of thrilling rides and games that will transport you to another world. Experience the exhilarating twists and turns of the Cosmo Coaster, defy gravity on the Zero Gravity Drop, challenge your skills at the Alien Arcade, and embark on an interstellar quest in the Galactic Quest laser tag arena. Plus, don't miss the immersive 3D experiences, virtual reality simulations, and interactive exhibits that will leave you in awe of the wonders of the galaxy.

Soooooo much fun!! This place is a must visit in Edmonton!! The roller coasters and rides all surprised me with how fun they actually were and all had like unexpected things! It was so awesome that there was no lines either so you could do multiple rides multiple times! So great! I definitely recommend going on a week day if you can because it was $20 cheaper than the weekend!

My daughter and I had a blast here. On weekdays you don’t have to wait in long lines, so we played the swing and the bumper again and again. The arcade games are great, we got some small stuffy from a machine that allows you to play until you get something, that is great! -1 star for still not enough activities. It’s such a waste of space there with the old roller coaster and the construction takes a long time. They should set up more plays with that space.

  • Kim MIRANDA

Toddler hour with the people in costumes is always our favorite time to go! Chaperones can enter for free and accompany the toddlers on some of the rides at 0 cost. My son and I do spinny cups, the my little pony Ferris wheel, the monopoly mini train and swings together. If I were to go during regular times I would need an all day pass myself. Definitely check out Toddler Chaperone hour to save money and spend an afternoon together having a blast!

  • Roxanne Richards

Love this place! It's an alright price for what you get. The galaxy orbiter and the space shot are our favourites. We went on a Thursday and it was a ghost town. No waits for any of the rides. They have a ride maintenance schedule so you know whats down for the day, but there were some rides that weren't working that weren't on the schedule which was a bummer cuz we were specifically looking forward to them.

  • Michelle Hogan

They charged the kids full adult price because they were over 43" but then wouldn't let them go on several of the "beginner" rides alone because they were too small. It seems that the pricing should reflect the fact that they could not go on most of the rides and charge a reduced price. Otherwise, not bad.

This place is fantastic if you have kids. Mine are grown, we went in to check it out and say goodbye to the mind bender. Rides are great, but the coin op games are not very well maintained, and half of them didn't even work. Needs more attention to the maintenance. Still a great place for families though

The rides I was able to go on were fun, but the tickets are quite overpriced, since there were a fair number of rides I was unable to go on due to being larger. Don't go if you are a larger person. Also, so many things inside that you need to pay extra to do inside above the ticket price.

I used to have a blast here before Hasbro took it over but I recently brought my kids here and found they couldn't go on any rides alone barley and it was a waste of money you have signs that say you must be this tall to to ride alone meaning if you have someone that is taller that the shorter person should be able to ride with them. Very disappointing and waste of $150

  • Joanna Yeung

The Edmonton equivalent of Canada's Wonderland, but indoors. Incredible that they managed to fit it all indoors and offer such a pretty great assortment of rides for all ages. Some of the more interesting rides were also not operational at the time we visited. Fun for a rainy day. We came in a Friday afternoon, not too many people and lots of rides only had 1-5 people.

  • HeyItsMay

I wish they had more extreme rides. They have a lot of little kid rides and then a few more “intense” rides that they’ve slowly been changing into kids rides. I’ve been going here since I was a kid and really enjoy it. It’s slowly been less and less fun. But the nostalgia is good haha

This place used to be for everyone. Now...it's so pricy. And now with Mindbender gone...they are still charging $64/person!! You can go to Canada's Wonderland for less than that. And it was sooo hot in there. We just did a walk around to look at the changes, but left quickly due to the heat. $64/person for a few rides and heat stroke. No thanks

It is a nice place for the whole family and conveniently located inside a mall but the price of the rides are steep / expensive and most of the times are not worth the ride. If they can bring down the cost, more out-of-town tourists can appreciate it more.

Get an unlimited pass, during the week, it's a smoking deal. The rides are few, but will have you wanting more. The games are played/payed separately, well stocked and placed. Loud environment, keep that in mind for kids. Great staff. Weekends are reported to be a bit more $$$ and much busier, so go through during the week if possible.

  • Shravani

Visited this with our toddler on a weekday and he totally enjoyed it. Tickets for 2 years and under are free, but you need to pay around $18 for adult chaperone which is kind of ok. There are some 6 rides for toddlers and we played each ride multiple times which is a bonus.

Largest indoor amusement park in North America. 64 cad dollar per person for all rides. Get there early so you don’t have to wait in a long line. There were 2 or 3 rides that are closed when we were there and they are doing renovations. You can spend easily 4 hours in there so come prepare.

This place is awesome. Busy but worth it. The wait per ride is not too bad during weekdays but longer during weekends. If there's anything that I would like them to improve, that is the cleanliness of the kids playground. Dusty and smelly

  • Laurie Ferguson

Always a fun place, but it got crowded, and a bit messy. The kids area needs work to make it just a bit prettier. Be prepared for the price of an all day pass, even your little one will run you 56 bucks. But it's a fun place, always good.

Good place for people of all ages. Many rides ranging in excitement level from mild to extreme Just hope that all these amusement parks reduce their prices …

Great indoor theme park! They have the roller coaster for $15 which is great. If u live outside of Edmonton don’t miss that. Kids were having a lot of fun.

Awesome rides.. space shot and swing of the century were best.. really liked this place... Went with friends and loved it.. not a place just for children

It was fun, but I don't agree with them charging a 5 years old a general fee when she couldn't even ride most of the rides...kinda ridiculous. More

I didn't get to try any of the rides but I must say it looks amazing. I definitely will return to try everything.

Had an absolute blast! If you go on the weekends it's really busy and looooong lines but it's got a bunch of really fun rides!

Great time in Galaxyland. Made it a full day excursion and the kids were busy the whole time. Lots of smiles, and a few tears.
