Such a lovely and peaceful garden! The huge signage along the road was the reason i knew this park existed, but boy was it so hard to find the entrance. Ended up making a big loop and walking to the park. The playground is fantastic for little children, and they will love the range of activities available in the secure compound. The water spray is very welcoming in hot summer days! There are so many lovely spots that one could have a picnic , and some of the trees are so ancient that it feels like you are entering a different world. Highly recommended that you make a visit to this beautiful place when you are next in Footscray!

First time we attended the New Year’s Eve fireworks display for children. Amazing. Well planned and organized. Lots of activities for family. Great live shows all evening. Mayor should learn to speak proper English before making long drawn out speech which was difficult to understand, rather, couldn’t understand. Very annoying and long winded. Then the fireworks, well worth the wait.
Playground
Kids a plenty.
Restrooms
Plenty of them

So lucky to live right near this gem. I would say I head to Footscray Park at least once a week (if not more). Never get tired of this space. The gorgeous tracks that wind through gardens and trees, the mini lake that has the cutest duck families, the track that winds along the river which is perfect for exercise, great city views, perfect space for dogs, tennis courts, soccer/footy fields and just a peaceful space to sit and enjoy. Love it!

My favorite local garden. I visit every weekend and each time I have new discovery with all beauties. Very relaxing and well maintain garden. Dog free area in the part of park. New play ground is always popular for family. And toilet is just next to the play ground. I really wish all visiter respect garden. They are so beautiful. I want thank you to local Council to save this beautiful garden. Great place for family picnic as well.

A wonderful park for walking and exercise. It has a long way to walk, bike, and do exercise. Children playgrounds and some exercise items are available. There are BBQ areas and shaded tables with many garbages and some free water.. boats are also available.. it is about 20 mins of walk from the Footscray station, buses can drop you off in the park if you like. but not sure where car parkings are.

Footscray Park is a true urban oasis. Its lush greenery, riverside walkways, and well-maintained gardens offer a serene escape from the city. With various facilities, from sports areas to picnic spots, it's a versatile destination. The park's peaceful atmosphere makes it perfect for relaxation and family outings. Overall, it's a gem that provides a refreshing break from urban life.

Lovely paths to walk, long stretches. A few outdoor gym equipment along the way. Great views too. This is my first time here, and find it somewhat hot as there aren't many trees to find shade under during summer. The heat from the sun bounces off the concrete path too, making it warmer than usual. Would love to come back for a walk during winter.

I've been going to Footscray park for over 20 years, in fact I used to live across the street many years ago. While seeing so much change in Footscray somewhat saddens me I do hope the current work they're doing retains/restores the Edwardian beauty around the water, and especially my secret meditation spot... This park is incredibly underrated.

Great green space. Playground was closed off for repairs. Only 3 public toilets, so bit of a wait, as we were there for a gathering with about 150 people!

Only one visit, for the New Year's Eve fireworks display, which was excellent. Park is very big and looks good. No dedicated car parking on the night.
Playground
Well conceived playground.
Picnic area
I assume that you could have a picnic anywhere in this large park.

As a photographer, I am always on the look out for new spots! I am so glad I had the opportunity to capture a wedding here last year. It was a perfect place for the wedding. Amazing venue if you are considering a park wedding Photos by Nikko Blue Photography …

Very nice place to relax and hang out. Good size for a suburban park. Right next to the river and has kids play grounds. Feed the ducks near the pond, have a picnic or take nice photographs againt the beautiful backdrops. Nice place for a wedding ceremony as well.

I didn't realise how beautiful Footscray Park was until many years had passed. During the day it is an Edwardian oasis in a sea of development. At night it's super creepy and the trees steal your souls so I strongly advise against going there when it's dark!

Huge park, very well maintained. Lots of facilities for picnic and variety of playgrounds for kids. Pet friendly with a huge area for dogs to be off leash. Gardens are very well maintained and not too crowded. Convenient parking spot

I always go to Footscray Park at weekends. At the moment due to the impact of flooding there's some part of park closed for renovations. It's so peaceful and beautiful place for you to visit. Love …

Lovely park with a lot of greenery, and a wide open space for everyone, this place is a must visit to unwind at weekends and after office hours. Also a space for young people from the adjoining University to unwind.

  • Jon Pamment

It’s a great park but NOT worth a visit with all the repairs construction going on after the floods. Awesome kids playground is closed and parking difficult. Only good for a walk along the river at the moment.

  • Anima Sola

A beautiful, somewhat hidden gem with stunning Edwardian garden and water features. The park includes an open space off-lead area for dogs and a walking trail along the Maribyrnong river with great views.

  • Ciro Castellanos

Well looked after, amenities include games, machines to excercise, toilets, walking and bike paths, great place for picnic with family and friends, excelent river city views.

  • Wil Lau

Currently one third of going through extensive repairs/upgrade post 2022 floods. However lovely park by the river and hosts a great family friendly Nye fireworks every year

  • chee chin hoe

Lots of big spaces for the little ones to run around. There's a nice little water park which is well fenced up. Wished there were more trees that provide larger shades.

  • John Locke

Good for jogging, dog walking, cycling and picnicking. You won’t be alone. People and birds accompany you. The view is beautiful. Beware of the bikes and snakes. More

A nice, relaxing place for a walk by the river, which is not too far from Melbourne CBD. This park also has a couple of BBQ machines.

It's a nice area to green up Footscray a bit. All the things you'd expect of a park and relatively clean.
