"The history of this place alone makes it a necessary stop"
"I love this park"
"In A Nutshell: -Floyd Lamb Park is a pretty large park that is located near Centennial Hills & North Las Vegas"
"This is by far my favorite park in the Vegas area"
"Cute little day trip spot to walk around and see some birds, nature, and learn about the history of the buildings there"
The history of this place alone makes it a necessary stop. You pay a small fee of $6 upon arriving (more if you're with a large group/bus). There are some restrictions upon entering so make sure you read the rules before planning a trip. Perfect for a little picnic, a long walk, or fishing. If you have kiddos, I would only recommend if they're able to respect the animals. There's a lot of wildlife, and most are very socialized. It's not uncommon for the geese to say hello if you have food, but it's important you don't feed them. They're well taken care of, and super cute.
Restrooms
There are a couple different restrooms on either side of the property.
Dog-friendliness
It's mandatory that dogs remain on a leash here. They must also be able to stay calm around ducks, birds, peacocks, and rabbits.
Picnic area
There are covered and uncovered picnic tables located in various locations on the property.
I love this park. Or, rather, I used to love this park. I was harassed by the park employees. And they wouldn't stop. They vudeo taped me. I did nothing wrong. I didn't leave trash, I didn't use the trash. I didn't have an open fire or food or fireworks. I didn't have music playing or loud voices or even talking - I was taking a nap on a blanket, under a tree. My car, as you see, has my $500 canopy and my $400 grill on top, because in Nevada you have to bring your own shade, sometimes, when you grill out. But we weren't grilling. Just resting under a tree, drinking water and enjoying the park. There are bbq grills in the park and its stated on the internet that it's allowed, but we were told no bbq allowed. I assumed it was seasonal, but on our way out people were grilling. Why would they lie to me? This experience was so hurtful. And apparently they meant it to be hurtful.
In A Nutshell: -Floyd Lamb Park is a pretty large park that is located near Centennial Hills & North Las Vegas. -There is a small pond where you can fish. -Many fowl live & enjoy the waterscape here. -Ducks, Canadian Geese & peacock are plentiful around the park. -If you walk along the north border of the park you will see signs that point out the Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument. -The park is mostly flat with some trees sprinkled along the pond, but if you keep walking east it's all flat w/ walking trails. -There is an entrance fee, but if you are a veteran or in the military you can get in free. Overall, you will find mostly locals here who live near in the homes nearby, so if you want peace & quiet, this isn't a bad place to check out.
This is by far my favorite park in the Vegas area. The park is expansive with what feels like a few miles of walking trails. The history of the original land use as a vacation destination is very well described via informative displays. There is a pond for catch and release fishing. Very cool mountain bike course that I have yet to try but is on my bucket list. The grounds are very well maintained as well as the restrooms cleaned frequently. This park offers an array of hand out areas, picnic tables, BBQ grills and shaded benches. There is a $6 entrance fee. Military/ veterans are free. America the beautiful pass is also valid here.
Cute little day trip spot to walk around and see some birds, nature, and learn about the history of the buildings there. Did you know it was originally a divorce retreat ranch way back in the day?? Neat. Peacocks, waterfowl, even a heron-like guy and a hawk! I no longer saw the bunnies that used to be all over, but there was a wild cottontail AND they have a bunny rescue that you can adopt from only on Saturdays though they said. I didn't see any farm animals including horses out on this visit, maybe due to cloudy/rainy weather. Cute Gazebo, a little bridge, nice plant diversity, and multiple ponds to take pictures of.
What a hidden gem in Las Vegas!! Took my family to Floyd Lamb Park for a picnic and the whole park was beautiful well maintained such a great area to hang out, fish, get some walking in or just to go to get outdoors.. only bad part was the restroom had a hole for a trash can or idk what the hole was for but it definitely was a bit uncomfortable to use. My family loved the park but that hole in the restroom wall with clearly accessible to people (staff) which definitely made some of us very uncomfortable. Other than that one thing I would recommend this park to anyone looking to get away from the fast Vegas life.
It's a great park with very nice ponds there's a lot of wildlife there with several peacocks and geese and ducks and things. It's a great time great family place to go there I believe you can actually go fish in those ponds but I've really never seen anyone catch anything. So not the best fishing but it is fishing in Las Vegas so that's pretty cool, there's some nice benches in tables for picnics and things too have a great day
Playground
I don't think they have a play ground here
Restrooms
They got them I think
Dog-friendliness
Yes but on a lease I think
Picnic area
Great picnic spot
6$ bucks are vehicle. Free if you hike in. There are other discounts for military and such. Lots of beautiful scenery. Lots of wild animals, and they are super friendly. You can also fish there, but you’ll need to do your research on the requirements and rules. Perfect place to have a nice family picnic. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Restrooms
Restroom are unisex, which I don’t mind at all. Very clean, which AMAZES ME!!
Dog-friendliness
Dogs are allowed.
Picnic area
Lots of tables all around the park. Clean and well maintained
This park is an absolute gem for family barbecues and wildlife enthusiasts! With spacious picnic areas and well-maintained barbecue pits, it's perfect for quality time with loved ones. The abundance of peacocks, ducks, geese, and rabbits adds enchantment, making it a haven for nature lovers. Serene ambiance, lush greenery, and clean facilities make it a top-notch destination. An ideal place to escape the city and immerse in nature's tranquility, it's a must-visit for a perfect blend of recreation and wildlife encounters!
A lot of land to cover with various terrains from grass, paved, dirt, and rocks. Parking is $6 a day, but it's free to walk or ride a bike in. There's grass to enjoy and benches if you need a break from walking or just want to enjoy the view. Great place to bring dogs, but just keep an eye out for cacti. There are multiple parking lots (4, I believe). Also, keep an eye out for signs warning of restricted areas as these are not blocked off by gates or anything of the sort.
Actually it should be 5, especially for nature lovers. A lot of trees and grass space where kids can run freely and chase geese and ducks. And it's very nice to sit down and relax while looking at a nice lake view. They have 3 that you can choose from. There's a space for dogs too. The only downside for me is that they don't have a playground (playground equipment). I really hope that they have one. My 4 yr old wouldn't request for another park, if they also have it.
As far as wildlife sanctuaries go this one was active, I must have seen half a dozen little chipmunks or whatever the desert equivalent is. I learned a lot via the plaques strewn about. Overall it's a decent park however if you went to the place to go fishing like I did I hope you brought the fish you're catching because man oh man there's only a puddle
Picnic area
There's a few benches and canopies along the trails, nothing to write home to Ma about
After living in Las Vegas since 2005, I finally came here in 2019 to do a 5k marathon with my daughter. I was mesmerized by the peacocks and the luscious trees and grass. Today, we came back and took the rest of the family with us. We had a beautiful scenery walk and then had a picnic under the tree & throwing football. It was a beautiful day today at the park. Will be going again and bring more friends/family to do a picnic and possibly fishing.
I have been coming here for more than 10 years now and it's still one of the better parks I have seen in Vegas. It's is very well kept and it's a chill place to come with the family to relax or go ride a bike through. Bathrooms sometimes are not too clean but generally well kept. For anyone in the area I would recommend stopping by. If you drive into the park there is a fee but if you park somewhere outside you can walk in for free.
Really beautiful park with lots of parking options. I believe it costs $6 to enter. This park is huge with 2 large ponds at the center. It also has nice walking trails, BBQ areas, and picnic tables. Be warned that you will step in goose poop so don't wear nice shoes. We like this place for bird watching and picnics in the forest area. I've also seen lots of people fishing and horseback riding so quite a few things to do here.
Great park so beautiful and nice walking path. It is a super clean and friendly park. There is a lot to do here. They have a pump track for bikes, they have a path for walking and running, they have a couple ponds that you can fish in and they have some history places here. In all just such a nice park
Dog-friendliness
Great for dogs
Picnic area
They have a lot of tables in the park
This is the perfect place to come to relax and enjoy nature. There are places to throw out a blanket and enjoy a picnic or just stop by and enjoy the lake on one of the benches. You can always find ducks to observe or even bring a fishing rod and enjoy fishing. There is a walking path around the lake and park. Make sure you keep your eye out for the peacocks as they are beautiful.
Tucked away up in the Northwest Floyd Lamb Park is spread across over 2000 acres featuring Ponds, Horse Trails, Picnic Areas and a Petting Zoo. Visited for a gender reveal inside one of the covered areas this is the sort of place few think of when discussing "Sin City." Blue Herons, Ducks, Peacocks and even Fishing - a true "breath of fresh air" in Las Vegas.
Went for a morning stroll to see the peacocks had some fruit and sat near the ponds such a nice little park and great to see some historical buildings, I will for sure bring my dog next time, there’s a lot of peacocks and ducks had a great morning here!
Dog-friendliness
Beside not taking my dog the first go around I’m definitely bringing him next time!
Plentiful paved parking. Various parts of this park offer shade. $6 dollar vehicle entrance fee. $50 annual parking pass, which can come at a discount if you are a volunteer, or a senior. Lots to see here- historical sites. Park is overcrowded with geese, but they're not aggressive towards people. There's also plentiful public restrooms throughout the park.
By far my favorite park in the city so far. It's beautiful and calming to walk around. You can bring your dogs and/or do beautiful family photos there. There is a small fee to get in but it's worth it! There are birds from ducks to peacocks, rabbits and horses in the business inside the park. There is some cool history with some of the buildings too.
Absolutely stunning even tho I was only there for a brief period of time. There is a view of the Red Rock mountain (I think that’s the name) from afar. Beautiful lake looks like you’re somewhere up north. Many ducks walking around. P.S if you walk here or get dropped off by car it’s free entrance. Other than that you got to pay to enter.
Floyd Lamb Park is a place to go if you like to sit on green grass, picnic, barbecue and good ole people watching. Just sit on your foldable chair and let the hours fly by. We love to sit right under the big trees waiting for the breeze to roll by. Entrance is $6 and we hope it stays the same keeping local friendly.
I love Floyd Lamb Park so much. Many of the beautiful benches are blocked by over grown weeds and bushes. Could they be trimmed back so someone could sit and watch the ducks and sunlight dancing on the water instead of an overgrown bushy weed blocking the view? Easy fix, yes? Thank you for listening to my inquiry.
Beautiful piece of nature in the desert. Tables are clean and the visitors seems to respect it. Our own little oasis where you can fish, see peacocks bbq or picnic. Highly recommend.
Restrooms
Gender neutral.
Dog-friendliness
There are dogs everywhere. It's great ☺️
Picnic area
Always clean.
This is such a great park. It has tons of grassy areas, several ponds that are stocked with fish, BBQ grills and picnic tables and a lot of bathrooms. In my experience, people are very good about keeping their dogs leashed. There are large flocks of geese that frequent the park as well.
Not a great place to run a cross country race. Lots of dust dirt rocks. The grass had so many holes I thought I was going to brake an ankle. There is an entry fee on regular days. The restrooms were clean but unfortunately there were only 2 stalls available at a time. It's an okay park.
Nice place to walk around and see geese, ducks and peacocks. Some folks fish in the ponds others have picnics.
Restrooms
A couple of restrooms locations.
Dog-friendliness
You can walk your dog but must be on leash.
Picnic area
Various picnic tables.
Beautiful park with peacocks and geese all over the place. I brought my exchange students to take professional photos out here. They came out amazing! Not a busy park, probably because you have to pay $10 to get in. Lots of parking and huge park to explore.
It's away from the hustle and bustle of busy streets. Quiet and rather big, there are areas to fish, trails to walk and bike. It's a great place to take the whole family. Haven't gotten a chance to explore the entire park yet, but I'm looking forward to it.
Beautiful Park for an easy trekking, walk the dog and little kids. My little nieces love and super excited with their close encounter with the animals (ducks, geese, owls, peacocks, horses, etc). Sunset view behind the mountains was a killer too . …
Perfect escape from the city. Floyd Lamb Park is $6 total per car and free for Military/Veterans. They have fishing at the large pond. Not sure what you need to fish there. The walking trails are nice and wide and roam throughout the park.
Nice park , beautiful landscaping, fishing ponds ducks, geese and peacocks roam free. Private events and if you want to get married I belive you are in the right place. If You want to relax and stay away from the city . This is the place.
Charcoal grills, pavilions, peacocks, nice trails. A nice big patch of grass and water in a desert city. It's a great place to walk around some large ponds and hang out with your family. We love to bring our son with his Power Wheel and
I love all the Ducks and Coots and birds that are all ever so present at this lovely park, also it looked like there was fishing available here for the anglers. On the down side there is a $6 Fee per car, but nevertheless it was amazing.
This place was awesome! My family and I loved it here. There were many different type of birds and and interesting trees. The animals were very friendly! It’s very big and it’s a nice place to have lunch at. The only thing was that most
I visited this park today and was pleasantly intrigued. The grounds are well-kept and as a history buff, I found this historical location fascinating. Jodi, who does the history tour of the grounds on Wednesdays, was full of knowledge
Great family spot for picking, fishing and enjoying the outdoors. Watch out for goose poop. Weekdays are best and during the summer waterfowl are sparse.
Picnic area
Lots of covered picnic tables with trash receptacles.
Very pretty and scenic place to walk around! There were peacocks and ducks roaming around! It has multiple pretty lakes and lots of shade! It has a nice little playground for kids and lots of restrooms!
Park looks great and the pond size lake looks very tempting to cast a fishing pole in.....definitely will be coming back fully equipped and Veterans get in free....an added extra bonus for me
We went for first time and celebrated the independence day, my kids loved it, you can see the ducks, peacocks, hares and more walking around you ,the park has a bicycle rails for all skills
A peaceful oasis in the desert, come sit by the lake and relax. Just be kind to the geese- they are the true rulers of the park, and if you cross them you will not be welcome.
It’s nice to see a nature of different sort here in Vegas, lovely walk. Would be great to have some area for kids, too.
Great park for picnics, and BBQ Fishing only with Las Vegas fishing licenses. Lots of ducks, Swans, some peacocks .
Lovely as always. Great place to walk your dogs, hang out with the kids and family or simply walk around alone
Great place to explore and get out of your apartment. An oasis in the desert literally. Have a good day
It's still a wonderful Park great for fishing walking take the dogs out the scenery peaceful quiet
Great spot to run, bike or walk. Trails system is small but nice. Plenty of wildlife around too
