The experience of an American study abroad student: Florence Fitness was a wonderful choice available to a foreign student like me. I wanted to continue lifting in Italy, and this gym was close enough to my residence and fit my budget well. They have one-time memberships deals for students too. I bought a one month pass, costing 90 euros. You can tour the gym before deciding if you want to join!! The staff spoke English well and were extremely nice. The other gymgoers were also kind and helpful. The locker rooms were nice and clean. Cardio machines downstairs. The only cons: - No free weight squat rack - Lack of AC upstairs in the strength training rooms (this was not as big a problem as I anticipated, but it might be in July/August. Maybe they'll implement AC, I don't know. Tour the gym and ask if worried.) - Not a large variety of grips for cables (but sufficient) But all in all, for the options available here, I would definitely recommend to other students studying abroad! I'm happy with my experience here, and so was inspired to write this :) hope it was helpful
I've been in the gym for about 2 months and I really like it. The last one was for about 3 years in Ireland and this one is a lot better. The only thing that people might expect which is not here, is a pool. Who needs it! They always have too much chlorine and I hate getting wet. The staff are friendly, smart and speak multiple languages. The equipment is well maintained. I've never seen anything out of place or dirty. The owner manager is very straightforward and honest. Everyone is very chilled and people actually speak to one another without any hangups. Nice place in Florence, Italy, to get exercise!
The studio is very centrally located and I spread over several floors. This gives it a friendlier feel than the large-space studios. I paid 55 euros for a 7-day pass there and think that is a very fair price. The staff is very friendly and supportive. The equipment for endurance training is all modern and clean. There is a really great rowing machine! I have not used the other equipment and therefore can not give an opinion on it. There is a beverage automat for drinks. The locker room for the men is also clean. I was even able to borrow a lock. Next time I'm in Florence, I'll be happy to come back!
Specific to bodybuilders: As someone who craves a typical Gold’s Gym and old school lifting, I found the place to be more than adequate. Not for powerlifters, but there is a free weight bench and lots of free weights, dumbbells and Olympic bars. There is a Smith press which was very smooth, as well as a cable crossover and preacher bench. Lots of selectorized machines by Technogym. Not unreasonably crowded. A bit hot in early June. All-in-all it got the job done. Pleasant front desk, 15 euros for the day. Opened at 8am.
This fitness center was close to where I was staying. The price was competitive with others and had friendly people working the front desk. There's plenty of cardio machines, weights, and resistance machines. I never had to wait more than a few minutes to work in. Overall it was pretty clean as well. The only objection I had was the paintings of women on the walls. I've been in fitness clubs across Europe and not one of the others has only has images of only women. Get with the times.
It’s a great gym if you’re visiting Florence. Get the 2 days for €25 pass. The only reason I’m giving it a 4 is because both days I went it was extremely busy. There’s only one smith squat (no normal squat racks) and one bench. But loads of machines. I went in the morning as did everyone else on holidays haha maybe it’ll be less crowded during the less busy tourists months but I came in June I hope this review doesn’t stop you from coming but just plan ahead!
As a traveler eating pasta and bread, this location was a godsend! Rates are affordable. They have a number of treadmills and other cardio machines. There's plenty of Nautilus equipment and areas to stretch or do calisthenics. They have a free weight area, but it is tight. I can't thank this location enough for helping me get my workout while on holiday. The front desk staff was very kind to a non-Italian speaker.
Tidy gym, 5-10 minutes from Firenze S.M.N. - The employees are friendly and they speak English. They could benefit from an extra floor with more weights and benches, because it can be quite busy, especially on weekends. Approx. 300 euros for five months. The wifi was inconsistent, and you can't refill your bottle of water.
Pretty good for a European City gym. Paid €15 to get in for the day. Full weights and aerobic setup, plus a room for classes. A kinda cramped due to volume. Went at 5pm on a Monday though. Interesting art on the walls, mainly charcoal/chalk depicting the female form. I'm a fan. No extra facilities besides locker room.
Una palestra famiglia. Tutto tranquillo. Tutti gentili. Ottime macchine. Attrezzata sala pesi.
Lots of gear, great weight room, roomy for central Florence. Bit hot in summer as air conditioning working over time, best thing is the friendly rates for tourists, easy 1, 2, and 1 week passes. Recommend if you want to keep your routine up while travelling in Florence.
Solid backup gym when traveling! Missing a squat rack and DB only go up to 32kg, but otherwise the minimal essentials are there and there are some good machines (but some things are missing). Weight room area where most of the free weights are is pretty small though
One of the few gyms in Florence open on a Sunday. Costs 15€/day for drop-in. Friendly staff with 10/10 customer service. Multi-storey gym with updated machines. If your passing through Florence, this is a great place for a quick lift. Highly recommended!
So happy I found this place. It’s 15 euro per day for non-members or 25 for two days. Full workout equipment and dumbbells. Surprisingly large workout area. Staff is super friendly. If you’re looking for a place to get your game on, look no further.
Got a 2-day pass for 25€. The gym is very clean and I would definitely recommend it. I went there both days around 11 am and it wasn’t busy. The guy at the reception (Gabrielle) was very friendly and helpful and speaks good English.
Fantastic place with great staff. Came from Canada and charged a minimal amount for 1 month membership. Owner is friendly and professional and equipment is good enough for someone like myself who has high demands. Highly recommend.
Florence Fitness was my gym of choice in Florence! Despite being much smaller and more cramped than what I am used to in the United States, the gym is very close to my hotel and it had everything that I needed!
Everything you need for strength and fitness. Was €25 for two-day pass (couldn’t really find anything cheaper). Also, the guy at the desk was great and willing to help with anything.
I have been training here for more than 8 months, and it feels like home, the staff are really nice and the machines quality are just perfect and there’s almost everything you need!
Amazing gym! Hot showers, GREAT hair dryers, and friendly staff. It’s pretty small so go during off peak hours. WiFi worked great, there was only one small area with bad service.
I only did a run on the threadmill there with an easy 15 euro to access. It was rather warm inside for me, so I was sweating a lot. They have rooms to shower and change clothes.
By far the best gym on our trip to Italy (tried a few across some cities). High quality techno gym equipment and the day pass was about 15 euros. I highly recommend this place.
Very complete set of machines and weights. No complaints. We used it on a visitor pass for a day. Second floor weight room was very warm. But we were there to workout away.
15 euros for a decent gym for one session as a tourist is fine. The free weights could use a little expansion both as an area and the weights / bars / benches itself.
Great gym for travelers. 15euro day pass or 25 for 2 days. Small but good enough. Biggest down sides are no squat rack, only Smith machine and DBs max out at 32kg.
A little cramped upstairs with weight room and selector machine room. No free weight squat rack is a big negative for me. Not the best setup for strength training.
Palestra ben fornita e molto accogliente, spogliatoi sempre molto puliti e ordinati. Il personale è molto simpatico e super professionale, consigliatissimo.
Came here with little brother, on a day pass for 15 or 16 euros per person. A nice selection of machines, lots of dumbbells and more. Highly recommend it
Me gusta mucho!
Unfortunately, the track switched off automatically after 30 minutes and the employee had no idea why and how. Otherwise everything was ok.
Come here because of the other good reviews! Definitely as good as expected! Great service, value for money and equipment!
One of the best Italian gyms I have been to. On the pricey side (15 euros per day, 55 per week) but probably worth it.
Convenient location and has plenty of equipment. Very popular so timing is important to ensure enough space
Great place, a little farther from the center, but great equipment and clean and English speaking staff
Great gym in the heart of Florence. Good facilities and clean. Very reasonable rates for tourist.
Great location, friendly and helpful staff. The rates are excellent for multi-day passes
Clean, up-to-date & well-maintained equipment, friendly staff, and reasonable price.
Cosy gym !!! It is very clean, an energetic spot in Florence to get fit !
If you’re an avid gym goer from the US this is perfect and well worth it
Lovely place with very friendly people. I was absolutely happy there.
Nice friendly staff, clean gym, small but it serves its purpose.
