Absolutely horrible! Please Do Not use this place! Kerri Jones funeral director is certainly in the wrong line of business her stock answer for everything is "there must have been some misunderstanding" always on my part even though I was able to repeat the conversation word for word, but I "misunderstood". In my opinion Flanner and Buchanan was upset that we opted to purchase our casket ourselves which was absolutely beautiful because Flanner and Buchanan did not have one like it. Once we bought our own casket Flanner and Buchanan no longer wanted to handle the life insurance and literally gave us 1 hour to pay for the funeral in full over $12000.00 or we could not have our loved ones service for another week. We complied and paid for it, but how heartless and shameful. I was told by one of the employees "that this same situation happened to another family, but that family could not come up with money and had to cremate their loved one". Kerri Jones and her team do not know how to handle grieving families, save yourself the trouble and further anguish use another funeral home to pay respect to your loved one.

Had one of the most horrible experiences here. Not only was it my young son's first funeral it was his 12 year old friends funeral and the guy that works here was extremely rude to my son had him crying the entire way home because he refused to give us 1 Funeral card told my son he couldn't have 1 because the family had to pay for them. I thought thats what they were for to pass out. The guy working told my son unless we stay another hour he couldn't have one i said sorry we can't stay the whole time he really looked at my 13 year old son and told him no. My son was crying in front of this grown man for a funeral card and said but he was my friend and that cold hearted man would not give him 1. That will be the last funeral me or my family attend at this place. That was by far the worst experience ive had. It truly breaks my heart that my son had to experience that. And a BIG SCREW YOU to the grown man that crushed my son today you know who you are i wish i would've got your name.

This afternoon I attended a service for a dear friend, Jack Pomeroy. I must say we were taken back at our arrival by being told we parked in the wrong place, and I must say it's beyond my understanding why anyone would want to be married in a funeral home. After the service I drove past my parents graves and was very angry and disappointed that the floral piece I placed on their marker was gone. This is not the first time I have encountered that. Many times Christmas wreaths are gone, presuming stolen. The grass and ground around their graves is a mess but at least this time there wasn't water standing. If I could I would have them moved to a place of peace where I don't either stand in water, or bring my own clippers to trim the grass. I am very disappointed in Washington Park East and Flanner and Buchanan. Are there no security camera's to watch that some low rent doesn't steal flowers? Michael Arnold

My mother past away April 3rd 2020 and as you can see in my photo, there is still no grass. Multiple issues from the beginning and has been non stop since moms burial. 1. Head stone didn't arrive to get installed until well after September 2020. 2. Plot sinks in on itself although we were told the plot would drain water away to prevent this. 3. Vase for flowers gets turned over to cut grass I assume but never turned back upright. We have to pry it open to flip it over. 4. Vase was broken by grounds crew and we weren't notified and found out when we went to put flowers on mom's grave. 5. Vase has been replaced but only after I had to complain and threaten to move mom and Sue for damages. Final resting place for peoples loved one should be respected and cared for. I have video of the grounds that shows how unkept it is but can't upload in Google review. May upload in Yelp review.

The worst place every to put your loved one. Staff does not care about anything.. Heartless.. my mother has been there over a year still no grass.. headstone sunk in ground.. finally fix that after several months. We paid extra for special casing to allow water to not settle, Ground crew broke her flower holder still waiting on it to be fixed. No one communicates with you. Horrible wish we could move her.. looking into filing lawsuit. Update April 3rd is the 2nd year my Mother has passed. This picture is from a week ago AFTER they so called planted grass and fixed the sinking headstone.I am now looking for a lawyer. UPDATE: it’s been two years and as you can see with new pictures STILL no grass.. We celebrated my mom birthday and her site still look bad, but I made the best of it… It’s Sad

Extremely dissatisfied with the way this funeral home handled my grandmother's funeral. The staff screwed up several things including the obituary as well as what vault company was requested by my father. The funeral director Christian was uncaring and acted like she could care less about the vault screw up. When we went to the grave site the tent that was set up had no sides, the chairs were just thrown in there, the chairs had no cover slips. The chairs were filthy. They had dried mudd all over them including the seats. My family has worked at Washington Park East Cemetery for over 40 years and they would all be ashamed. My grandmother deserved way better than the funeral she received from this place. I am truly disgusted and angry at the disrespect.

The Witter family laid our mother to rest here and we cannot thank Zoe enough for her kindness and patience. She was so helpful and spent an entire day with us answering every question and concern we had. She offered comfort to us when we needed it the most and was very respectful to the family and our mother. She was there from the beginning to the absolute end making sure everything was done professionally and respectfully. On behalf of the family, thank you Zoe. You made one of the hardest days in our lives more tolerable.

My sister was prepared at this funeral home and shipped to this area. First, they sent her without her clothing which had been provided. Second, they didn't send any of the other things which were supposed to be buried with her. Third, they did a horrible job preparing the body. She didn't look anything like herself (and yes, I understand that they are not "there" anymore but this was bad.) I would definitely recommend using another funeral home.

Our son and daughter-in-law were married here at the Community Life Center and our entire family found it to be a reasonably priced yet beautiful environment. With a pleasant outdoor courtyard and indoor dining hall with dance floor it served as a great combination location for all aspects of the event. From married to buried they appear to do it all with beauty and style.

As a church pastor I experienced many funeral homes. Flanner Buchanan at Washington Park East has exceptional employees who work hard to make this most difficult time a difficult time in a person's life easier easier. I was able to work with one of their directors, Alicia and she did an exceptional job with both compassion and professionalism.

I have been employed with the Buchanan group for nearly four years now. I can't say enough good things about the company and all of our facilities. My colleagues are more like friends and family.I highly recommend our team for any of your needs; including gatherings such as weddings /anniversaries or other special occasions/events.

The Walmart of funeral homes.Avoid or get closed casket or cremation. Their emblamers are horrible and I've now had two bad experiences here. Once when their associates tried to guilt trip me about not upgrading my father's vault, saying "I would regret it in the future" and now when they botched the emblaming on my grandma.

  • Leesa Foreman

I am sure they will remove this. Shirley Brothers is taking names and addresses from visitation records and sending out advertising to family members. Complaints are being filed over this. Tell family members to not put addresses down.

  • Miranda

Great during the services, and helping us but once they received the payment for both funerals, they no longer returned phone calls regarding the grave markers nor have they been installed despite being told they would be in by now.

Caitlin and Doug and the team at Flanner Buchanan were extremely helpful while being super sensitive of of my feelings and needs. I’ve been to several cemeteries and mausoleums and this is by far the most beautiful.

  • Chad Pittman

No services: I spoke to a women on the phone. She did not listen my needs and kept trying to sell me higher priced packages. She has horrible communication/listening skills. Horrible experience.

After a little hiccup, all went well. Very happy with how everything turned out for my Mom. Jan and Michael were wonderful. Pastor John Dunaway gave a wonderful eulogy. They all were so caring.

  • Lavina Leavell

My husband's funeral could not have been more perfect. Everyone was so kind, patient and helpful.

  • Airin Wesley

The staff here were very helpful. And they helped my family with everything.
