Beautiful and clean place, the service was outstanding, the food was absolutely phenomenal. Highly recommend this place. We are from out of town. I will definitely be frequenting this place any time I come to visit this city. Food was out of this world delicious. The staff was knowledgeable, kind, enthusiastic, and considerate. I could not have been more pleased. I don't know if our server/host was the owner, or just an employee. But if she is not the owner I hope they pay her well. That is the best employee you could ever possibly hope to have. We both got the half and half mini bowl with veggies and rice. I'm an incredibly picky eater and I loved everything. Themagic sauce is amazing, the hot sauce is warm, sweet, but then tangy in all the right ways, the jalapeño sauce was the best I've ever had anywhere. We bought 3 bottles and they gifted us one for my birthday. I can not wait to come back again. I'm going to tell everyone that I know that comes to Jacksonville to come here!

I visited this particular Flame Broiler on San Marco Blvd. today, 8/27/20. I don't know what has happened but the place has gotten really bad. The last two times I have been the service and food was terrible. Prior to the last two times the food was great. The veggies were crisp, the rice fluffy and the meat perfect. Now the rice was mushy, the veggies were virtually non extant and what was there, looked like they had been sitting in hot water for a few days. The meat was ok, I usually order the chicken bowl. When asked about adding the green onions the register person said they no longer served them. The two staff people, the cook and the register person, seemed to not care one way or the other. The staff seems to turn over quite frequently as well. I gave them one more shot today after my previous bad experience at this particular restaurant but never again. Avoid this unit. I don't know who owns or runs this franchise but they need to be aware their staffing and food currently is terrible.

Placed a delivery order that never came, called to inquire why and found out that they apparently don't deliver after 6 and it wasn't going to be processed as a delivery (despite the fact that it had very specific delivery instructions that were ignored). What bothers me most isn't this mishap but how it was handled. The first person I got on the phone didn't have any solution other than hanging up on me without saying anything at all. The second person I spoke to took nearly 15 minutes of calling to get ahold of. Once I got the manager on the phone I was informed that he was a "traveling" manager and he didn't know how to refund my order or how the online ordering system works. In summary, Flame Broiler is a joke. Their food is "ok" at best and overpriced for what you get. It's not worth all the extra trouble that comes along with ordering from here, take your business somewhere else. We used to regularly order hundred + dollars of food from here every weekend. No more after this incident.

At 11:48am today I decided to go with my girlfriend to try out Flame Broiler for lunch. First what I noticed was that the staff seemed to be bored. Ali up front was moving very slowly. Finally, we were able to order. She did not seem to care it was our first time and we didn't know what we wanted. After I reviewed the menu and looked at the food, I decided not to order. My girlfriend ordered a chicken plate with white rice. She couldn't even get vegetables because they looked old and discolored. I watched as another employee weighs the Togo bowls. At 11:59am, cook asked Ali to stop in the middle of my order. I watched as she got new glasses rice and mixed it with the old. Also she had a bandaid on her finger and was wearing no gloves When she got her fish I noticed it lacked in taste. The chicken was room temperature. For $9.20 I don't see the hype.

I went to the flame broiler on san marco Wednesday to grab a quick bite to eat. Normally I have no problems with the employees or store cleanliness but this time the whole store was filthy, nasty floor, dirty napkins everywhere, and no clean tables. It also looked like the hotsauce counter blew up. 2 females were working who obviously shouldn't work there because the girl in front didn't even bother to wash her hands and had a smart attitude. Horrible customer service on their part and poor work ethics. My food didn't look appetizing and was thrown together. I was going to order more than 1 bowl but after I seen the first one being made so poorly, I didnt even bother.. I will continue to go to the flame broiler because this was my first bad experience. Aslong as their not the ones serving me.

Had a coupon for BOGO dinner but when I selected 2 charbroiled plates was told the coupon didn't apply....the coupon had no exclusions! Feels like bait and switch because I could only use the coupon at the San Marco location...and it was mailed to residents of The Strand Apartments on the riverwalk. The cashier said the computer didn't take the coupon but didnt offer a resolution. I will be calling the manager...who he said was Ashley. Not happy with the service!! I did get the wings along...and here bnb is the bait and switch... Why couldn't I use the coupon as advertised?....

As I was filling my cup with ice, I noticed so much mold and mildew on the ice chute on the drink machine. I asked the cashier for ice from the back, he said “why, are we out of ice?” I told him no, there was mold and mildew all over the ice chute. He came out and saw the ice chute and quickly went back and gave me a bag of ice. He went back to pumping the sauce into to go containers, the ice chute wasn’t cleaned while I was there, not sure if it got addressed after I left or not. ***Owner contacted me directly via e-mail, went on-site and the ice chute was cleaned promptly after I left the business. Star rating changed unsolicited, everyone deserves a chance to improve!***

I went to the location in San Marco and as soon as I walk in, one girl with teal dreads and blue nails is too busy to have noticed me come in, the other girl also at the register is lazily walking around the front. I stood there for 5 minutes and neither of them said anything. I had to speak up and ask if they were available and they both loon at me crazy and the second girl proceeds to take my order and gives me an annoyed attitude like I’m bothering her. I’ve never ordered at this location. I normally go to the one in tapestry because the staff is so friendly. I will never come to the one in San Marco ever again.

I'd like to start by saying the staff was very nice and friendly. However, it's very clear this is a new location because it took 10 minutes to get a chicken veggie bowl when I was the only person in there. I ordered a chicken veggie bowl and it was only about half full! If I'm paying $7 for a bowl of chicken, veggies, and rice I'd at least it for it to be full. I love the location at Phillips and JTB. Hopefully they'll work out the kinks here. UPDATE: Went this past week and everything was great! Speedy and tasty! Nice work!

It tasted good and it was a good price, but the food was average. The lady who helped us was very nice and explained what the process was and explained the sauces. The seating was ok. I rated this place average because I was a little disappointed with the flavor. From the description on Google, I expected "Korean-style" to taste a little more Korean. All of the ingredients were good, especially the rice, but my husband and I probably won't crave this food. It was a good and slightly above average experience.

I am a fan of The Flame Broiler!!! They have basic, but great ingredients, and the sauces are to die for. The special sauce is a perfect combination of teriyaki and soy sauce that I’m now obsessed with, after eating my first bowl. Good food aside, the management and staff have done a fantastic job showing their customer appreciation after a rocky first impression. Super positive experience. I will definitely be recommending The Flame Broiler in San Marco to anyone who asks!

Was on a walk and me and my husband decided to get dinner to take back. We didn't bring our wallets and they didn't take mobile pay. But I was able to order online and pick it up. The lady at the counter (hate I didn't get her name) was soo nice and great. She wrapped up the food securely in 2 bags since we were walking and offered us drinks on the house for the walk. Great post walk dinner that was filling and delicious and healthy. Definitely coming back!

This place is fantastic. The food is always good and the service is polite, friendly and quick (even if it looks super busy). Much less expensive than I expected too! This location could maybe stand to chop their veggies a bit smaller like the store on Philips and JTB so the broccoli cooks more evenly and integrates into the dish better. But that doesn't diminish the 5 star review. Just a suggestion. Magic sauce is probably made from actual magic.

The bowl is tasty, most definitely with the SAUCE w/o the sauce its just regular. The customer service could be better, no one greets you upon walking in; They just look up and semi make eye contact and continue doing what they're doing.

This restaurant is delicious. The food is Korean-style fast food - chicken or beef served with rice and vegetables. This restaurant strikes a great balance of health and taste. The only con is sometimes the vegetables are a little overcooked, making them a little bit too soft. They will deliver to places nearby. The deliveries appear to be done via bicycle, and I'm not sure just how far out they will deliver.

Food: Tastes good especially when you're hungry. The portions are a tab bit small. The chicken had too much char but it was juicy, and the beef was tender; I only had two chewy pieces & one little piece of grizzle. Overall, I'll purchase again. Service: Quiet, awkward, Here's your food. Atmosphere: Seemed to be clean & had a clean feeling upon walking in

This place has gone down the hill. They give you a third of what other comparable restaurants offer for the price they charge. They raised the price 4 times in the last 12 months. I don't know how they can afford the price menu sign changes so often. It must cost them a fortune. On top of everything, my food was overcooked.

I love the food at flame broiler. Healthier than most take out food. The magic sauce is great. But to keep it low sodium use sparingly or skip. Employee was wearing short shorts i would got to the beach in or sleep in. Not quite professional or hygienic. There is no good reason for those to be worn there and be on the pay roll while wearing

I was disappointed. They have three types of bowls. each with a price. The regular bowl for what I got was 8,00 dollars. (not noting exact price but not far off). He gave me half a bowl. The Flame Boiler close to JTB gave me an awesome bowl, pack it to the top for the regular bowl, It was average and the price was not equal to quantity

I bought the half and half plate and the chicken and steak were dry and tough. Tasted like food it had be prep cooked and sat out for awhile

One of my favorite places! This was my first time at the location on San Marco, and it was great! They had the food ready for me pretty much instantly and were super sweet. The inside was much bigger than I expected from looking at the storefront from outside, and it was well maintained.

Sadly this place has gone downhill. Waited 20 minutes for a lukewarm bowl of rice and chicken. Very poor service, understaffed every time, and the staff there is very rude. One time maybe it's bad luck, but this is every time.

I requested brown rice but think it had been sitting because it wasn’t tasty at all. I had to smother the rice with the magic sauce to actually enjoy the meal. I will probably try it again but request fresh rice next time.

If you like Gainesville's California Chicken Grill then you'll like this place. Flame broiled chicken & beef bowls with your choice of white or brown rice and steamed veggies and don't forget the magic sauce. Delicious.

I needed a luncheon for 35 people, on a low budget. The owner, Jackie, worked directly with me to order exactly what I needed at a great price, and everyone loved the food! I highly recommend their catering service!

Usually a great place for lunch! However on my last two recent visits the chicken was burned (burnt pieces in the mix) and the rice was undercooked. Still maintaining five stars, hopefully it was just an off day.

This location SUCKS. Go to the one off of Butler instead. The Mixed veggies are just cabbage, they screw up your order, bowls not filled all the way, chicken not seared as good. Other location is much better.
