I'm not happy with the veterinary care and customer service at Fishponds vets. I would not recommend this surgery to any animal owner. I've felt lost as what to do with my elderly dogs medical care. - They are very slow to respond, been waiting for 4 weeks for a vet to call me to discuss dental issues. I got a call yesterday. - My dogs meds had to be ordered on a monthly basis, I was told I would be notified when they were ready to collect, I had to chase every single month. - Ran some bloods at the cost of £240, requested a copy needed for her operation, after numerous requests and an ear bashing from me they finally sent them. Took them over a week to send them. - Was quoted £700-£900 for dental treatment. Went elsewhere and paid £350 with no fuss. - Disgustingly poor veterinary care, my elderly dog had lost over 1kg in weight over a period of 6 months. Was told this was normal. Since getting a second opinion got advice and analysis of her diet and pain medication, made some minor changes she's back up to her normal weight. Gained 1kg in 4 weeks. - My dog was literally withering away shaking in pain and I was told carry on. - Previously was told to come off pain meds, no advise given to slowly reduce the meds. These are very strong pain medications that causes withdrawal. - Continue with a different pain med that was destroying her liver. - No alternative pain relief offered or signposted for other therapy. Since changing vets my 14 year dog is looking and moving better. She is much happier too. I honestly think without my new vets professional care and attention my dog would have have been pts. I am extremely upset, as my other dog who I lost in 2020, was under their care and on reflection he too didn't receive very good quality care or attention. Old dogs need prompt efficient communication and proactive approach to their medical care.
I run a dog walking business and a client got an eye infection. I thought it was conjunctivitis and it was. Very pleased with my deductive skills. So I drove my man to this wonderful vets and was very impressed with their attention to detail and care for our boy. They put some magic ink in his eye to check for any lacerations or cuts. It was hilarious as bright green goo came out of our chaps nose. They prescribed an anti-bacterial eye creme to apply over 7 days. And our lad was as good as new. Great staff lovely atmosphere
I lost my dog recently due to cancer. Unfortunately the type of cancer did not develop noticeable symptoms until too late. The vet, Leslie and all in the practice here in Fishponds (and also those in the main Zetland Road practice where my dog had to go for an ultrasound scan) could not have been more helpfully, friendly and considerate given the circumstances, and restrictions due to COVID-19. I would not hesitate to recommend them, and would go back to them if/when I get another dog.
Very caring and supportive when we had to have one of our cats put to sleep, he was a well loved and now very missed member of our family. The vet we saw (sorry I can't remember her name), gave myself and my son plenty of time with him in his last moments and was so caring and gentle, all the staff we saw were very caring and empathetic. Then a few days later a card arrive in the post, expressing sympathy, such a lovely touch from a very caring veterinary practice. Thank you.
Thank you for the care given to all of the pets I've had over the years. Whether it be dogs, guinea pigs, rabbits or hamsters. The service has always been the same - kindness, compassion and a duty to the well being and welfare of the animal has always been a top priority. The staff obviously love their jobs and the animals they treat, and have always been welcoming and thorough in explaining and answering any questions I may have. I will always come back to you.
Always extremely friendly and helpful to us and our naughty doggies. The admin staff are friendly and professional and Leslie Kenmuir, the vet who normally deals with our dogs, clearly adores them and is very knowledgeable. On the occasions we have had to take our mutts to 'Headquarters' in Zetland Road when we've had out-of-hours disasters, the staff and service there have been excellent too.
We have our two dogs and two rabbits registered here and we wouldn't want them anywhere else. The staff are always friendly and have a sense of humour so it's always enjoyable visiting - even the dogs enjoy going as they are always fussed over! They're also affordable and realistic when it comes to treatment, always ensuring they offer the best possible solution.
My dog Luna and two cats Sula and Gracie are looked after by the Fishponds vets. The staff here are always so friendly and caring. Luna had a knee problem diagnosed and dealt with by referral to Langford very quickly: Gracie had a dental operation at Fishponds. ... the team make the whole process as painless as it can be for my animals and me. Top work!
I love this vet. We have had cats with them for the past 10 years and a dog for the past 6 months. They are very friendly, really helpful and full of great advice. The care that our old cat received when he had a kidney infection was perfect especially as we had to deal with the trauma of putting him to sleep. I would recommend this vet to anyone
Lovely staff , always kind and compassionate. Unfortunately had to have our pet put to sleep but staff amazing and so kind. Only down bit was we were very upset and other people waiting outside to covid restrictions - wasn't nice to be outside with other people when we were so upset - would be nice to have private area to complete paperwork etc.
Absolutely brilliant practice. My little dog was very sick and I was seen promptly. We were treated with the utmost care and compassion by all of the staff. Everything was explained fully to me and thankfully the treatment that she recieved was sucessful. She was diagnosed in time to turn things around by a fantastic vet. Thank you so much!
Excellent service in all areas. Polite, friendly staff from reception to vets, nothing is ever too much trouble. Prompt appointments and the vets always take time to explain the problem and the solution. Would never change vets as i dont think i would ever find a service like this. Even when the worst happens, they are always there to help.
Great vets. The receptionists are always welcoming, friendly and helpful. Additionally the nursing and veterinary staff are supportive and happy to provide as much advice and guidance that is needed while doing what is needed to make put my pet at ease throughout her visits. Would thoroughly recommend.
Not very wheelchair accessible. Thin door with small step, narrow corridors. Vets are nice. Short waiting list and can often get you in for the next or same day if urgent. Main downside is that for small rodents you cannot be in the room when euthanising, so you can't be there for your pet.
We have used Fishponds Vets for a number of years and have always found everyone from the reception staff to the nurses to the vets so friendly, helpful and professional. All treatments are explaining clearly in easy to understand language. They just love and care for animals
This practice is consistently excellent, the staff are friendly and helpful and listen to your concerns about your pet be it a cat or an exotic. The vets also listen and are in the majority cases can help, if they can't they will recommend another service or specialist.
The lovely card we had sent after our beloved Border Collie had to be put to sleep at Zetland hospital just over a week ago was a very thoughtful thing to do . They have looked after Jess after heart disease and liver disease was getting worse . Brilliant vets.
Bringing my first pet here has been very great. The lovely team are so helpful. Made me feel more confident on how I’m going to raise my pet. And gave me more health advice about my kitten. Would definitely recommend this vets to friends and family. …
VERY good vets and veterinary nurses.I have an autistic grand daughter and they were brilliant with her.Always sort my animals out with minimum of fuss. Will give advice and very welcoming. No complaints.i have used them for 10 years or so.
Monthly Pet Health Club is a scam, they take monthly payment for flea and worm treatment but dont provide this. They promised text reminders which stopped along with the prescribed treatments, but kept taking my money. Claimed they dont
Such lovely staff. Supportive, informative and caring. Exactly what you hope for from a Vets. Additionally being part of the Zetland Group means there are more options in emergencies, which we've been very appreciative of!
I’ve been going to this vets for years when I had my boxers also.I think everyone is very kind and loving to the animal they see. They explain each part of the examination and don’t mind answering any worries you have
We have received wrong medication for our dog, not correct for his weight ( his weight has been checked by the vet and still wrong medication prescribed)! Awful service and will be looking to change vets!
Leslie the head vet is lovely and really helps to explain everything with your pet. Gives you options rather than force advice on you. Genuinely knows and loves the pets he sees. Would highly recommend.
Saw my dog really quickly after he was injured. He was expertly treated and given lots of love and attention and amazing treatment and care by all staff there! I couldn't recommend them more highly!
Can not praise enough. Phoned up in a panic and was seen straight away. Everyone showed real care and compassion and I can't thank them enough. A big thank you from Lily who is feeling much better.
Very knowledgeable vets obviously love animals. Receptionist are lively especially Sue. Vets and staff seem to know and regonise your pets and you feel as if you are having a personal service.
The receptionists are always very helpful & the vets are amazing. Have been with Zetlands for years and have never had a problem, in fact I wouldn't want to take my pets anywhere else
Very unhelpful. Poor customer service. Considering these guys communicate with people everyday the manner and tone of the receptionist was awful, would not recommend.
Fabulous vets very knowledgeable. Head vet Leslie very kind and spot on with diagnosis and referral we can't thank him enough. All the staff very kind and caring
Fantastic staff, both of my cats have been looked after here. Also they have a fantastic pet plan that's worth looking into with some really good discounts.
Really good experience. Would recommend this vets, made me and my dog feel comfortable and able to ask as many questions as I wanted. Definitely recommend
Vets are good and efficient. They saved my dog. Leslie is trustable and knowledge, friendly and approachable. Some receptionists are dismissive and rude.
Always polite, efficient staff, vet is lovely and on the ball. Picked up my immune problem so no live vaccine for my dog I was unaware of this. 10/10
Very good precautions in place ref Covid-19. Very friendly, welcoming and professional staff. I would definitely recommend this practice to anyone.
