Nice dog park. Super large with lots of space for dogs to run. Negative: ALL the gates are locked but one so when walking from my boyfriend's parent's with all of our dogs to park is a much much longer walk and fairly dangerous because much of it has no sidewalk. Would be a higher score with sidewalk or open gate on both sides of park.

Top notch dog park, love that it does not have fences or gates, so the park feels so spacious. No muddy spots or puddles on rainy days, but be sure to bring your own water because the water jugs are often empty here (or be a good samaritan & bring full jugs!). Beautiful fall foliage and well behaved pups, my lab loves coming here.

One of my favorite off-leash dog parks where the furbies can run wild and free. There are gentle slopes and steep slopes and flat areas for all age and energy puppies to play on. The water fountain is far and not always accessible, but sometimes the community will provide water for the neighborhood.

Love this park! It has a good vibe, good dog owners and lots of space to explore. It has no fence which is great for dog owners who have their dog under control. Always a place to park. Can get muddy in the wet season because of little valleys. My dog loves it!

  • Megan Stephens

My dogs are a fan! And so am I because I can throw the ball with the chuck it up and down hills to wear out my high energy dog. I definitely hear other dogs fighting sometimes so keep an eye on your pets and advocate for them. Some owners pay zero attention.

No fence for those who need that. Amazing off leash area! In my top three. Very large, lots of grass, plenty of shade from big beautiful trees. It's not level, has some slopes, which is fun. No benches if you're wanting that and there is a water station.

I love this park. I can bring my dog and he is happy. My fiends and I love coming on Sundays to play soccer, volleyball and football. We had to change parks cuz of the things going on right now, but can't wait to go back. Its perfect for us

This is one of my favorite off-leash dog parks in the area. I am lucky to have a dog that stays close and we use a remote collar. She's somewhat timid and I have found that fenced dog parks can be stressful - sometimes it just takes one dog

Favorite park to bring my dogs to. It's very expansive, with a lot of grass for dogs to run and play in, a soccer field, track and playground as well and all of the dogs are well mannered and with friendly owners. You may have to watch out

  • Rick Balestra

Amazing dog park because it’s huge, there’s tons of trees and squirrels, and there’s even a ravine you can run down into. Dogs can run and run without reaching the edge of the park and the surrounding streets are really quiet so you don’t

  • Kevin Burns

There's no water and no trash cans so if your dog drinks or poops it's annoying at best. The off leash area is weirdly defined without a fence, so if your dog runs off and doesn't listen then this probably isn't the place to go. My dog is

This is such an awesome unfenced dog park with tons of space and usually really cool pets and people. There is a trash on both the East and North sides of the park and the neighborhood community does a great job of keeping water jugs full

We haven't been to fernhill for 2 years and I'll tell ya what..its still an amazing place not only for your dog but for yourself as well. It's not too far and it's one of the larger dog parks and simply seems to be one of the better ones!

  • Rhyann Powell

Amazing park. The dog park is massive here. There are lots of hills that the dogs seem to love. As well, there’s good free coverage which is nice during the summer time. Every time we’ve visited, there have always been dozens of dogs.

  • Cathy Hume

We are so fortunate to have public parks like this. Fernhill is definitely a place for dogs and their people. If you don’t want to have dogs around you don’t come here. My dog is small and loves to go on sniffari adventures here.

  • Mashall Sharma

Great area with lots of space to run and not crowded. Very few aggressive dogs and lots on nice owners. The park ranger occasionally comes around and tries to keep owners and dogs in designated area. But lovely spot!

  • Grey J.

Our favorite dog park in Portland. Very large, tree coverage on the north end provides shelter from rain or sun; the bowl on the southern side is great for wearing the pups out while they run up and down the hills.

  • Eric Foster

There's NO fenced in area for dogs to run free and safe from traffic. Also lots of mud in wet season. Much of grassy areas is half mud. But it is big. Many people enjoy letting their dogs off-leash here.

  • Brandon Smith

Great place to take the doggos, super clean, lots of space to run, community water jugs and bowls plus free poo bags if you forget yours. Always full of friendly people and cute pups.

  • Raina Popp

Huge off-leash area with lots of trees for shade but some open spots good for a game of fetch. The dogs are usually very well behaved and owners rarely don't pick up after their pups

  • Milly Negrini

It's a gigantic park that's wonderful for dogs. However if your pups aren't used to other dogs I highly recommend leashing, as other Un-leashed dogs will randomly run up to dogs.

  • Isabel Shere

Best non-fenced dog park in Portland! Only downsides are that there is no water faucet onsite, and LOTS of squirrels that hang out in the giant trees in the offleash area.

  • Carol Hannibal

Nice, unfenced, off-leash dog park. There was a doggie water fountain, and dog waste pick up bags. Nice big field for well-behaved dogs to play and socialize. More

My personal favorite official "dog park" in the whole of Portland. There are other awesome parks, but technically your dog should stay leashed at most of them.

  • Jason Semmes

Spacious park in a quiet neighborhood. Most of the patrons and their pets are very well behaved. Trash cans and doggy bags are spaced out along the perimeter.

  • Sherry MI

Too many dogs, dogs have taken over every park in Portland. You really can't enjoy yourself anymore. Sometimes, there's over 100 in the park at one time.

  • Megan Maslonka

Great park – big area, lots of good puppers and kind owners. Fun with all the hills and large trees. Only detractor for me is that it’s not fenced in.

  • Jonathan Hathaway

Best dog park in the city, IMHO. It’s huge with varied terrain. My squirrel obsessed dog can easily spend an hour or more running from tree to tree.

  • Annie Smith

Nice and big! Lots of terrain variety, lots of space to run. Still a park (playground, etc) but for a quick workout for my dog its great.

  • Susan Strayer Curtis

Love the large amount of space, all the trees, and especially gentle ups and downs give both us and our dog additional workout.

  • Becca Davis

So much space for dogs to run and plenty of trees to smell, plus a few open areas. My new favorite dog park in Portland!

  • S

I love the available water, the options of shade or sun, and the options of spaces near or away from other dogs.

  • Helicopter HorseMom

This is a clean, fun park for my dog to run and stretch out! Best of three I have visited in Portland.

  • Dviz Maste

Beautiful off-leash dog park area! However, it's not fenced in if your dogs have a mind of their own.

  • Franchesca Beltran

Our favorite dog park. Huge area with plenty of fat squirrels for chasing and nice dog friends.

  • Sebastian Prevost

Awesome offleash dog park. I've been coming here for almost 20 years.

Great place for dogs to run around. Lots of trees and shade so good any time of the day

  • Gilbert McIntire

Quieter than Peninsula and more dog friendly. Love all the trees and terrain.

Good, basic dog park.
