I'm not surprised to see many negative reviews after our recent experience. Even more disappointing is seeing how far back these reviews date. Obviously Washelli is no longer focused on ground care or visual consideration for family/friends attending services. On the scheduled service date I arrived an hour in advance to find the plot area in Memory Glen totally unacceptable. Garbage floated in the pond, un-mowed grass/weeds around the grave markers, chipped paint/boards/graffiti and weeds growing thru the gazebo. With a very short window to get things somewhat cleaned up we headed to the office requesting our "outside" service contact, Kate Stone. She was unavailable and the receptionist was more concerned about our raised voices and disturbing "others" who had lost loved ones. With the clock ticking until service time and our demands for someone in authority getting louder, we were finally ushered into a room and met with Aaron, only 2 weeks on the job, who apologized, admitted Washelli had failed us and immediately had a crew on scene. Although this delayed the service, the area (except for the gazebo) was made presentable. Aaron did not offer excuses but shared that ownership had changed and like other businesses, Washelli has a problem with transients, drug users and property defacement. Although insightful, and with 4 months lead time on our service, it did not excuse or explain the poor appearance of my Mother's plot on that date. As Kate was our point of contact and the face of Washelli to us, it was our expectation that she would follow thru and confirm preparations to ensure that the area was acceptable for her customers and their guests. Obviously that was not the case and I believe had she seen it, would agree the site was far below the standard Washelli claims to showcase. What should have been a comforting, tranquil and peaceful afternoon was emotionally marred by a totally preventable situation. My Mom was the 5th family member to be interred at Washelli. Based on this experience I would not recommend this facility.

This is the worst place to rely on for your family memorial service. My old mother paid for a full service memorial a decade ago to anticipate a burden relief for our family when time comes. She passed away more than 2 months ago and at the times it was very very difficult to arrange for the service that we paid for as they said that it was fully booked or lacked of available staff (?) as an excuse. I guessed that as the money being paid ahead there is no need for proactive customer service. It took more than 1 week to initiate such an arrangement and ..in a 2 days spread service! In addition, we paid as requested additional ($1500+) for the gravestone. A month ago, our family visited the grave location and nothing has been done. This week, we visited the place anagin and no gravestone has been done. When confronted at the office, they told us that will be soon, but when requested for an estimate date; the answer is "don't know". So the only recourse may be a lawsuit for unrendered paid service that we have to initiate if they keep postponing the delivery date. This is a reminder for prospective clients that you should consider all contingency as these people are very unreliable; when the money changes hand you will be at their mercy.

Evergreen Washelli is an SCI owned funeral home and columbarium. Most funeral homes in operation today are SCi owned and operated and if you don't know what SCI is I suggest you do a little research before you really start looking into long term burial investments. That being said, Evergreen Washelli does have it's own unique place in Seattle history. It's Columbarium is beautiful. Most of the actual cemetery itself is beautiful and well maintained. I know for a fact they are doing a complete rehaul of the water system and a re-roof of the Columbarium. Most of my family is interned at Evergreen Washelli and I have a pre-planned niche there as well. They are also unique in they have a witness crematorium. I think they might be the only funeral home in the state with one. They are not cheap though. A funeral at Evergreen Washelli, a bare bones cremation will run you at least 5,000 minimum. So you need to remember when you walk into the door that death at a funeral home is first and foremost a business. Funeral directors are not grief counselors, they are salesmen. So remember that Nana isn't going to see whatever you put her in. And I know this because I was a funeral director.

Thank you to Philip Watkins our funeral director, for taking such great care of us during this past week. This has been such difficult time for our family, and everyone at Evergreen Washelli in Seattle was so gracious and professional. I can’t tell you how much we all appreciate it!!! You took care of every detail and made this situation so much easier than I thought it would be. The customized service folders for the funeral were incredible! So personalized and a beautiful keepsake to honor my husband. The catered reception following the service was beyond my expectations- the food was beautifully displayed and having our slideshow and music running during the reception made it a very relaxing and “enjoyable” time for our friends and family. Last but certainly not least, Paul Boardman who was recommended to us by Washelli to officiate our service, did a beautiful job at remembering and honoring my husband. You all are so caring and compassionate- I cannot thank you enough!

We were so pleased with the help we got from Kevin at Bothell Washelli. Our elderly mom passed away before Christmas, and we had hoped to have a service that had its own identity and well away from the Christmas celebrations. So we were trying to make things happen fast for the upcoming weekend. Kevin was so calm and kind. He just kept saying we'll get it together--otherwise we'll go to plan B. Well, we didn't have to go to plan B. We had a lovely service that we coordinated with Mom's church. It couldn't have been nicer. And really I don't think it would have happened without Kevin's help and calm demeanor. There was no sales pressure and just nothing but support; at a sad and confusing time like that, what else could you hope for? I really mean that.

Rachel, It was the most difficult time for my kids and myself as the passing of my husband MJDiaz III happened during this Pandemic! Rachel our funeral director made it smooth and easy for all of us! The sudden switch to a Chapel service with a live stream made it that families all over able to watch the very solemn military service for my husband. The staff at the Funeral Homes and the transport were very courteous and respectful of our privacy and requests! We did shared to families that we were satisfied with the whole process and service! Thank you again Rachel Staff and EWFH for the pleasant send off of my husband God bless us all and take care Nancy, Suzi and Chris Diaz

My father was a retired Army Lt. Col. I am a 2 time US Olympian. All we want is for the American flag to grace and honor his gravesite. But our family made the fateful mistake of putting him on the very end of the plot line. Mowers come. The lines of plots are edged. Flag may or may not get put back. I have pleaded w/staff for SEVEN years just to put the flag back. How hard is that out of respect fot my Dad? Today I came. No flag. Why is his flag always removed but the flags in the center remain untouched? Is his gravesite just a slab of stone with that pesky flag to be taken down? I am sad and upset that no one seems to care about my never ending request.

Not only are there kids partying at all hours of the day and night, desecrating graves.. But today, there was a family using the sprinklers as a play area running through, over, and on top of grave sites. I called and reported it, and the lady on the phone said she would get the grounds crew out... 20 minutes later and the family is still there. No grounds crew has shown. So I call back, and the lady on the phone laughs me off... So hey, if you dont mind your loved ones graves desecrated, by all means, lay them here... But if you want a place that will treat the remains with dignity.. This OBVIOUSLY isnt the place...

The entire team was very personably , professional, caring and showed the upmost respect for my family. The celebration service was wonderful. My family was able to pay our last respects and say goodbye to our mom in a absolutely perfect setting. Rachelle did a great job making us all feel comfortable in preparing for the service. Paul, our celebrant, was incredible. It is easy to see that he cares. A very graceful man. I would have to give Paul six stars. Well done, thank you and God bless. Daniel McManus

Truly one of the most beautiful places of rest in Seattle, and one of the most beautiful and awe inspiring I've visited in the entire country. Evergreen Washelli Columbarium is immaculate inside and out and the urn memorials are lasting tributes to those inurned within. I have experienced several staff including Deanna and Judy and all are so kind, friendly, hospitable. Families who choose this beautiful columbarium are choosing a perfect tribute that honors memories and stands the test of time!

Thank you for your kind and compassionate handling of my father's remains.. he passed during the most uncertain times of this pandemic, where we the families of the departed can not see and pay our last respect. You became our representative. You were called " the last responders", thank you ♥️ you are also heroes. Special thanks to Rachel Risbell, for her patience and understanding during those times when I had so many questions and concerns, I never felt alone.

I had the pleasure talking to a gentleman that was working on the irrigation system this morning on the Meridian side I wanted to give him a shout out for his time . He deserves more than 5 stars. I believe his name might be Armando. I want to THANK- YOU FOR YOUR TIME

Absolutely beautiful and extremely humbling. I walk here all the time to think over my daily activities and experiences. There is a lovely little stone bench overlooking the cemetery where a prominent staff member once did the same. It's a place of peace.

Washelli Bothell had a great staff and service led by Kevin and Leah. They were organized, timely, and compassionate. They made the whole process easier. Would recommend many them to anyone we know but hope that we don't have too anytime soon.

Rachael was instrumental in providing the support we needed during these challenging times. I want to thank the staff as well for all that they do and for making the celebration of my father's life possible. Well done!

a lot of my family has been buried here, back in the old Lutheran section and I have siblings who died as infants in the "Babyland" section ( which I always thought was a creepy name ). Well maintained lawns.

Deanna helped to answer all my questions and was very friendly. Considering the foot traffic that area must see the grounds appeared fairly well maintained.

The staff are professional and polite, the process is explained clearly, the cemetery is clean and we have no complaints. Thank you Rachael and Samantha.

Many thanks to Patrick and the staff for their help in honoring my brother's wishes. The Columbarium building is a lovely setting for those at rest.

This is one of my favorite places to walk. Peaceful, and beautiful no matter what season. Also has many historic plots from early Seattle families.
