This is a 2 star review rather than a 1 star because we did actually make it to the destination for our wedding. The resort itself was lovely. If anyone is reading this - skip Escapes.ca and book a flight / hotel bundle directly. We used Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya Resort & Spa + Sunwing. Our Escapes.ca agent was Alex. When we first reached out to her, she was quite friendly and seemed to be knowledgeable. The trouble started later. The information we received from her was incredibly unclear and communication was extremely poor. For example: one of our guests was almost dropped from the bundle 3 months after the deposit was made because we "exceeded the number of rooms" which were set aside for us. I could go into details, but trust me that this room limitation was poorly communicated at best. We didn't have all our guests flying out of the same airport. Originally she assured us that she could help secure other arrangements for those guests, but in the end she could not and recommended those guests buying their own tickets. After weeks of back-and-forth discussion about guests which required alternative flight requirements, she told us that we would need 10 people from a single airport in order for her to help make arrangements. I'm not sure why she thought that was applicable for us. Perhaps her communication was written by ChatGPT - there were always a lot of words, but she rarely answered the questions. The wedding website was also extremely poorly formatted. We had to find out from a guest when the the flights were, she failed to notify the bride & groom when that information became available. She seems nice enough, but not very good at her job (at least while dealing with us).

This was our first booking through an agency for our wedding. We used Shelley Elkas and she was beyond helpful. In the beginning I warned her I have some pretty intense anxiety and control issues and she navigated all my worries with grace and understanding. I know having a backseat planner is never easy. If you have anxiety, she understands it and caters to you in a way that will calm you down. Some people can be impatient because they don't understand. We had a few bumps in the road and Shelley fixed all of them for us. Even during check in at the resort we had issues and I left her a voice mail to call me back asap and within a minute, I received a call and she was working with the hotel immediately. Throughout the whole year of planning, she would also reply after hours - something we totally didn't expect. (ABOVE AND BEYOND is the best description) Before departure she even would send me reminder emails to breathe and relax, since she already knew I was stressed out. Those little gestures meant the world to me because I forget to do that when I am anxious. We definitely will be using Shelley in the future based on how thoughtful she was.

We worked with Shelley & let me tell you how amazing she was from day 1! I reached out to Escapes after having no help from local agents. I Googled Caribbean wedding planners & emailed escapes through there. I must say I don't even think I waited an hour & there it was a response from this amazingly wonderful, friendly, helpful & knowledgeable agent Shelley! I was ecstatic! I immediately responded & gave her some details, including the fact that our wedding date was not negotiable. She immediately went to work! And quickly! I wasn't even sure I had given enough time as it was a last minute decision. She assured me it was and had resort options to me in a few days! We made the decision & jumped on booking. She was always there to answer questions, I'm sure a few from our guests too, but I never waited for them. She was always sincere, friendly & available. I couldn't ask for better! From start to finish I couldn't ask for better! I hope you all get the opportunity to work with Shelley! Thank you Shelley!

This is an honest review. My first time booking with escape. I loved everything about their customer service because someone will always answer either by phone or email and they are extremely helpful! My travel was with sunwing which are hard to reach but this agency help me through my flights and hotel with them by contacting them for me while I was in cuba where wifi and service is almost nonexistent. They processed everything and saved me a lot of headache if I were to book directly with the airline. They help you from flight, hotel and insurance and any problems you might have along the way, they will contact for you. I will book again next time with them. Good price and helpful nice staff! Never use Escapes.ca!! I have been using them for years for all my family vacation booking. Last week I booked another trip using Escapes and four days later I saw the same package on sale for $1100 cheaper on their website. I called the office asking for a price match or to cancel my trip but they told me that it is NOT an option, and they sorry to hear that I overpaid. They are really taking advantage of customers and trying to gouge them with high prices and if they dont sell enough of the ripoff price packages they star to reduce the price!! Be careful and spend your money somewhere else who looks after there costumers!!

I was trying to book a trip online and wanted connecting rooms so I decided to call directly. I was dealing with Manju who was incredible from start to finish. The booking was done and all details were noted without me even having to ask. Manju followed up with me for our seat selection and made sure we were happy. We travel several times a year (4-5 atleast) and this has been my best experience to date. I can not say enough about the service that Gabrielle provided during our recent group booking to Puerto Vallarta for our daughter's wedding. Gabrielle Masciarelli from Escapes did a fantastic job with arranging our destination wedding at an all-inclusive resort. She was very knowledgeable on the wide array of resorts in Mexico which was very helpful. When the airline abruptly switched our direct flight to a layover flight, many of our guests began to back out; but Gabrielle was able to work her magic and got us on another direct flight and saved the entire trip! I would definitely refer her to anyone looking to book a destination wedding in Mexico.

I booked a large family vacation which unfortunately later on had to be cancelled and refunded The vacation Specialist Charity C. was amazing to work with. she was very helpful, helped me with all the planning, booking and insurance. In the past I have often booked directly with Sunwing or the airlines, but do to all the issues with travel these days I thought I should work with a middle man. My experience in booking with them has been excellent. Susan was my rep and she always answered all my questions or concerns in a timely manner. I also, really like their web-site. It is easy and fast to maneuver and has in depth descriptions of the resorts and their offerings. I would definitely use Escapes again.

Had an Awesome time at the Iberostar Dominicana! Nice room and liked the size of this resort, large enough to not feel crowded and small enough to be close to Pool/Beach/Food at all times. Buffet food was very good as were the 3 A la Carte restaurants we ate at (Smokehouse, Mediterranean, French). 90% of the staff were absolutely outstanding!!!

I had a great experience working with Mona! She was very knowledgeable and communicative through the whole process. I really appreciated the insights she was able to provide about traveling with an elderly person with limited mobility. She was also very informed on the current COVID protocols. Mona helped take our vacation to the next level.
